killing four people in alturas. the alturas police chief says, 44-year-old sherrie rhoades also critically injured two other people in a gun and knife attack. this was during an eviction hearing at an american indian headquarters. police say one of the victims is the tribal leader. the youngest victim -- a 19- year-old girl. when rhoades ran out of ammunition. she grabbed a butcher knife, and stabbed someone else. no word on the motive behind the incident, but authorities are working hard to find out more. rhoades is a former chairwoman of the cedarville rancheria tribe. she faces murder and attempted murder charges. a man shot and killed another in what the shooter is calling self defense in san jose. police say they received reports of gunfire shortly before 8 last night on pine ridge way and squeri drive. when officers arrived, a resident reported that another person tried to break into his home. the two parties shot at each other. later, a man with a gunshot wound was dropped off at the hospital and died from his injuries. the death is being investigated as the san jose's eighth homicide of the year. today. federal officials are set to announce how much water they can release though rivers, canals and pitt farmers in the central reservoirs'. valley have low expectations. last year, some farmers received 20 percent of what is considered normal. this year's back. a teenager has been arrested for allegedly stabbing two others. brentwood police say the two teen victims were found with head wounds near pine street. the victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital. the 16-year-old suspect was arrested at his home. fremont police are asking for the public's help in find a bank robbery suspect. the robbery happen around 1- 40 yesterday afternoon at patelco credit union on mowry ave. police say a man entered the bank and handed an an employee a note demanding money. the employee gave the suspect the cash and he ran out of the bank. phosphorusthe suspect is described as a black man in his mid to late '30's. standing between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall. he was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with reporting this just in. energy officials at the nation's only underground nuclear waste repository says they have detected radiation in and around the new mexico facility. but health officials are assuring people in the area that the levels are not a health hazard. the readings came from sensors above and below ground. the sensors show the e radiation is coming from waste stored at the waste isolation pilot plant. on saturday announced an underground monitor detected airborne radiation. department of energy officials say radiation levels detected in and around the nation's only underground nuclear waste repository are consistent with a leak at the southeastern new mexico facility. carlsbad field office manager jose franco said thursday that readings from sensors above and below hoss ground indicate the radiation is coming from waste stored at the waste isolation pilot plant. but officials won't know what caused the leak until they can get underground to investigate. that could be on saturday, the doe announced an underground monitor detected airborne radiation. on wednesday, an independent monitoring center said it also found evidence of an above ground escape. franco says it is the first such release from the plant since it opened 15 years ago. he also said the levels are still well below those deemed unsafe. a woman was killed in a train accident while working on a movie in southeast georgia. it happened while filming a dream sequence for "midnight rider," the sequence involved a mattress on the tracks on a trestle over a river. the train struck the woman and the mattress, sending debris flying in all directions. seven other people, all crew members, were taken to a hospital with injuries. police have arrested a man for allegedly groping modern family star, sarah hyland in australia. groper the actress and the rest of the show's cast are in the ahead country filming an episode of their hit show. hyland was posing with a fan when he allegedly touched her inappropriately. he was arrested at the scene and has been charged with indecent assault. sydney australia actress haley dunphy arrest new south wales assault two men pleaded guilty to felony charges for brutally beating a san francisco giants fan outside dodger stadium in 2011. louie sanchez did face 11 years in prison had he been convicted on all counts.but will get eight years in this plea deal. marvin norwood faced 9 years.but the plea deal gets him down to four years. the two men showed no emotion as they were being sentenced. that lack of emotion prompted the judge to break his customary silence. he called sanchez a "public nightmare." bryan stow's father and sisters poured out their pain.but the criminals were still unmoved. stow, a santa cruz paramedic and father of two, suffered severe brain trauma that will require daily assistance for the rest of his life. last year, stow returned home when his insurance company stopped paying for his stay at a live-in facility. the judge in the case. also made his thoughts known. about what norwood and sanchez did to stow, his family and his friends. one of the prosecutors said. the sentences the suspects received were very close to the maximum. and there is still the potential for federal charges. from spring training in arizona. giants players and coaches also reacted to the sentencing. third base coach tim flannery has been one of the stow family's biggest supporters. all ofsince the attack, he has dot helped organize at least two dozen concerts with his band. all the money from those concerts has gone to the stow family. ahead flannery says, while the sentencing brings some closure. he still is concerned about bryan's future. kohen flannery says, he knows the stow family is dealing with tough times. and that he has already planned several more concert fundraisers. once the baseball season ends. the dodgers issued a statement in reaction to the stow criminal case: it says -- quote -- "we big stories we're working on for you this morning. four people are dead and two others are wounded in a shooting inside a tribal headquarters in alturas. 44-year-old sherrie rhoades is in custody what is considered normal. an elderly woman is in critical condition after being hit by a cement truck while crossing a busy san francisco intersection. police say, the truck driver was driving north on fillmore. and had stopped the truck just past the crosswalk on california, to allow a car in front to park. once traffic started moving, the driver pulled forward and hit the woman, who he didn't see coming. police say. it doesn't appear that the driver is at fault for the accident. since the woman who was crossing the street was jaywalking. and may not have been paying attention. the incident caused delays on two muni bus lines. two workers are hurt in a frightening scaffolding accident in san francisco this afternoon. this is video from our helicopeter partnership with a-b-c 7 news. it happened while two workers were installing scaffolding. when it collapsed. investigators say, one worker fell 40- feet -- the other 30- feet. and the scaffolding fell on top of them. hit kron-4's jeff bush has more. the form is set on the ground and erected and then they tilt it up and then they let it go with a crane. webcore president, jes pederson, explaining how the scaffolding is put into place. the two workers who were on the scaffolding were releasing it from the crane and, for some reason, when that crane was released, the scaffold fell over sidewaystaking the two carpenters with it. this man was just getting off work. he didn't want his kit what he saw. we were talking. we were wrapping up ourselves and this guy probably had about 30 minutes left in the day. this is a high pressure job. as always, they were probably working overtime. you can see the size of the tacoma collapsed scaffolding in this video from our partners at abc7. building inspectors, cal osha, police and union leaders were conducting their investigations throughout most of the day. i want to say that the guy was yelling up at the top hang on! maybe something happened below and i don't know and i never did take a month good look at the bottom of that scaffolding. maybe something folded. construction will not start up again until cal osha and other safety agencies give the ok to get back to and facing two felonies for the child pornography, plus a misdemeanor for allegedly taking those pictures of the a popular livermore golf pro and child instructor. has pleaded not guilty to child sex abuse. andrew nisbet was in an alameda county courtroom yesterday. he faces 75- felony counts. for allegedly sexually abusing three boys. who he had been teaching. he is expected back in court next month. a settlement conference is scheduled this morning. for a sonoma county supervisor accused of prowling outside a neighbors home. efren carrillo has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of peeking into a door and window at a woman's west santa rosa apartment last july. police say he was wearing only socks and underwear at the time. after his arrest, he entered an alcohol treatment center for five weeks. carrillo's trial is scheduled for march 7th. an alameda county superior court judge has found internet retailer overstock.com engaged in false advertising and unlawful business practices. the judge ruled the utah- based company used formulas to create fictional comparison prices and chose the highest comparison for an item without informing consumers. the judge ordered overstock to pay $6.8 million in civil penalties to the eight counties. the order also prohibits overstock from advertising reference prices that are not based on actual prices offered in the marketplace at or about the time the advertisement is first placed. china is urging president obama. not to meet with the dalai lama this weekend. china's foreign ministry spokeswoman said the meeting is a "gross interference" in china's internal affairs. and that the meeting would seriously damage relations between the china and the u-s. preparations for the dalai lama's visit are underway in
