Orion was taken out into the Pacific Ocean this week for a recovery test run. This is how the spacecraft will return back to earth after a mission. Orion has capability of reaching the moons of mars. It will be the first time in 40 years that this nation has ever designed and built a spacecraft intended to carry people beyond lower earth orbit. Thats a big, big deal. The orion project is a 9 billion venture. Nasa hasnt revealed where it will go on its first trip. Its funny because it seems so 70s. Thats the way they used to do it way back when drop them into the ocean and then we got used to the space shuttle. Whats old is new again. I guess so. Its amazing. We have some sunshine outside right now. Very nice day out there but we have a storm just off the coastline that will likely bring with it at least a chance of some showers as we head into the evening. Yup, there it is on your hidef doppler. You can see that rainfall just skirting in along parts of the coastline in far Northern California. Its going to take the better part of the day to get here. We are left with blue skies and sunshine and nice weather. Its 79 degrees now in concord. 78 in livermore. 70 in San Francisco. And 75 degrees in san jose. All right. Now just a tropical depression so its falling apart. But we still have all that moisture to deal with and its going to spread right through parts of arizona and southern parts of new mexico along that line. We are going to see tremendous amounts of rain maybe three to five inches here in the next 24 hours to 36 hours so we are expecting a lot of flooding there. Back to california, we are looking at a storm system headed our way. This is rather weak as we head in toward the evening hours. You see a few scattered showers beginning to show up in parts of the north bay even into the Santa Cruz Mountains and then overnight tonight into early tomorrow morning becoming more widespread so i think tomorrow may be a little tricky with the commute. You could see some scattered showers, of course, any of those roadways getting wet now with the oils out there and you could have people sliding across the highways. Temperatures are going to be warm this afternoon still some 80s well inland, 70s and 80s inside the bay. And then some 60s along the coastline. Your sunset time is 7 14. Your sunrise tomorrow, 6 54. And as we look out toward the next couple of days, yeah, we have a chance of some showers here maybe just a few hundredths of an inch of rain in the wetter spots even a slight chance of a thunderstorm or two by friday and saturday. When you buy them, make sure they have nice amber color to them just like this all the way around or very light green. The stem nice and green. When you bring them home in the refrigerator right away. They should last four to five days. Dont leave them at room temperature. So seedless grapes, this time of year, they still are fabulous. Reporter its important to note liccardos Campaign Manager filed the complaint. Possible sign that this race is heating up. Do you think this amounts to going negative . After we raised the issue they then went back and corrected their illegal conduct. Thats not going negative. Thats simply urging everyone to play by the rules.
