Reporter police say this man stole the family car with the little girl strapped into her car seat. No one knew where she was for 10 agonizing minutes theres a fourmonthold baby strapped in the back seat in the baby seat. Reporter it happened in the ender loin. The family in the tenderloin. The husband had the baby in the back when he drove to golden gate avenue and leavenworth street to pick up his wife. [ nonenglish language ] the car was running. Someone kicked the car. My husband came out of the door check because he didnt know if he had hit someone. That was when someone got in the car and drove off. Witnesses say the man tried to stop first from cuffing him. They tied him down. He was resisting quite a bit. Thats when backup was called. Breaking news from the north bay now. Sonoma county sheriffs report one of their deputies was involved in a shooting. It happened this afternoon in guerneville. No word what led up to the shooting. One man was taken to the hospital. Were making calls to get the latest on the suspects condition. New details on the case of a 9yearold boy killed in discovery bay. An attorney for the family of jordan almgren tells kpix 5 there had been a neighborhood sleepover at the boys house on saturday night with kids from nine to 18 years old. When the last of the kids fell asleep, the family believes 18 yearold William Schultz snuck into jordans room and stabbed him to death while he was sleeping. It was jordans own mother who discovered his body the next morning. Schultzs defense Attorney Says he has mental problems for some time. Family tried desperately to get help for their son, who was exhibiting signs of mental illness. They tried very hard in the weeks and months leading up to this. Schultzs arraignment was rescheduled for next month. Prosecutors say they do not plan to seek the death penalty. 49ers are backing down from a plan to take over some soccer fields next to levis stadium. This all comes after major pushback from the youth soccer teams. 49ers wanted to buy the field for 15 million. The idea was to use the land for parking. But the City Council Members say that the team undervalued the land. Now the 49ers have taken their proposal off the table. It is 11 acres of prime real estate thats literally in the shadow of the brandnew stadium but the City Council Member who managed to put the brakes on this proposal says she was blindsided a bit by the financial terms. She says that this was shaping up in her opinion to be a back room sweetheart deal that was great for the 49ers and virtually no one else. I was not going to give away the property at a fraction of the value and i was not going to evict the soccer commute from their park without a relocation plan paid for the by the 49ers. Reporter they collected money and pillowcases and bought visas for the refugees and babies who got on board. The flight then took off with almost 500 passengers. Its unbelievable and that station manager that i just mentioned, he keeps in touch with a lot of the 300 people that he adopted just to get them on that plane. Its amazing. He lives in florida now.
