A breakthrough for parking at the new levis stadium in santa clara. 49ers and yahoo have a deal to try to help thousands of fans get to the game. Reporter the original plans called for 21,000 Parking Spaces at levis stadium but that number is growing the latest thanks to a big yahoo Office Project which is not being constructed. When you think of yahoo you might think about yahoo news, web search or perhaps your yahoo mail but how about parking . Now yahoo confirms to kpix 5 that it has a deal with the 49ers Stadium Management company for a big parking lot at this site just west of the stadium. Construction is already under way on the 48acre site which several years ago was supposed to house 12,000 yahoo employees and 10,000 Parking Spaces. But that project never got off the ground. Now yahoo is leasing the land for parking for events at levis stadium. Three pedestrian bridges had been built to bring fans from the Great America lot and the yahoo lot to the west into the stadium. And while it may seem the planners have thought of everything, some say theres just no way to know what may happen until the fans arrive. I dont know what to expect until trial and error. Until we have the first couple games we wont know. Reporter the 49ers now have access to more than 30,000 Parking Spaces within walking distance. A suspected arsonist is under arrest for starting a fire inside Oakland International airport. It burned a small pile of cardboard in a baggage claim area early this morning. There was no major damage. And airport operations were not affected. Firefighters rescued a dog and cat from a burning Apartment Building in san leandro overnight. They had to use oxygen to revive the pets. Sparkles the dog and crystal the cat are expected to be okay. But a woman suffered smoke inhalation while a man is recovering from severe burns. Firefighters had to rescue a driver who took a wrong turn into san pablo bay. This was just off Point San Pedro in san rafael. The driver went to the hospital. Driedout creekbeds eliminated many of the natural food sources for the bears. Many of them are expanding their search for food into neighborhoods and business districts. Its just so dry out there. Today officials captured their 7th bear in just the last 10 days. These poor animals. Animal control hopes to release them back into the wild. With the drought people who depend on well water need to know whats going on underground before they hit bottom. Allen martin now with a story on how new technology is helping homeowners keep tabs on what is going on down below. Reporter like millions of californians, sue depends on her private well for her water. We dont take it for granted. We know exactly where its coming from. Reporter but this retired engineer is concerned that some of her neighbors dont know enough about their wells or the water sources. The aquifers they are drilling into. Where their well is, that it goes underground, what its not just a big hole in the ground. You have to put information in the hands of the people that have both the most risk and the most control. Reporter nick hayes has developed a Monitoring System caldwell and tell and is marketing it to private well owners like sue. Theres your trend. Reporter a series of sensors continually monitors the well water levels and every 30 minutes theres an alert. Get a text message that says we have had 10 drawdown in the last two weeks. Its a good idea to call your well service. Reporter it could be information that prevents a costly repair. Or looking at the big picture, a sign that the ground water level in the whole area is dropping. And it has. In some areas of the state, its dropped as much as 20 feet in the last two years. The best metaphor for ground water is that it is in fact best treated as a bank account. If you dont deposit into the bank account, then it has ripple effects for everyone. She told me that she just wanted to make her namesake the late Amelia Earharts dream come true and that she did. She landed at Oakland International airport 5 30 this evening after her 17day round the world journey. She was greeted with cheers and tears, especially by her very proud mom. Oh, girl, you did so good. Everything was wonderful. Thank you so much. Reporter Amelia Earhart, you did it. How are you feeling . I feel amazing. Uhm, we had a wonderful flight. We had a picture of amelia there in the cockpit with us and my copilot, shane, i think he is over there with the flowers, it was an amazing journey. I have been working on this for the last year and a half but its been part of me because of me parents, my dad and mom. They gave me this name. Its just incredible. So i feel wonderful. You took up flying 10 years ago and took on this dream . I have been flying for 10 years and from day one its been a passion. You know, a lot of people ask me, do you feel forced to fly because of this name . And absolutely not. I feel like its a part of me. Its what i was born to do and now we did it. Researchers uncovered nearly 40,000 photos including naked selfies and other intimate pictures on android phones that owners thought had been wiped clean. Now, they found that the factory reset function on androids doesnt delete the data on the phone and other researchers were able to reconstruct those files. Now, google recommends that you enable the encryption on your phone before doing a factory reset. The file encryption setting on androids is optional. Oh, all right. A little food for thought. Transcripts were just relea Antolin Garcia torres has ars, charged breaking news in the sierra lamar case. The grand jury transcripts were just released. Antolin garciatorres has been in jail for two years now charged with the kidnapping and the murder of sierra lamar. Now were learning that there is physical evidence in this case. The mercury news, which sued to get this document released, is now reporting that some of her dna was found in his vehicle. And that his dna was found on her clothing which was later found in a field near the bus stop where she went missing. Sierra lamar was 15 years old when she was last seen near her home in morgan hill. Her body has never been found despite searches every week. The mercury news reports that garciatorres apparently incriminated himself. The grand jury report says he ended up telling the investigators some of the details about the crime that investigators themselves didnt even know about. Our student rising above today isnt a foster child even though her parents cant care for her. She can hardly remember all the schools she went to. Reporter her mom tried to keep the drug problem a secret. She would leave the kids with daj aa. I made sure my sisters took baths, in bed, watch movies, made sure i read to them. Reporter in all, there were 11 siblings, many halfbrothers or sisters. And there was violence. My mom was abused by her boyfriend and yes, he liked to hit her a lot and my mom like she likes to fight back and so they would fight a lot. Reporter they would move a lot. Different siblings with various relatives. From Mountain View to east palo alto, san jose, modesto, back to east palo alto. Over and over repeatedly being left by one parent or another. I started to feel not loved like abandoned. [ pause ] reporter and how do you deal with that . School. School. I love school. School distracts me from everything. Learning more the better. Reporter the library was her special place. I have always been a reared. Like i started with nancy drew and then young adult urban books. It took me to a different place. It put me in someone elses world and not mine. I really think theres something within deja thats special. She deals with things. She knows what she needs to do to get the job done and she does it.
