the rare week night game means fans will be competing with afternoon commuters. more now from kiet do, who joins us live from levi's stadium. reporter: kickoff is at 5:25 p.m. in the heart of rush hour. one thing that we have all learned is that fans coming tooth game do so over the span of a couple of hours, and that helps a lot with congestion. after the game, it's a different story because if it's a close game, that means about 68,000 fans will be leaving all at once. and so caltrain has added two special northbound trains leaving from the mountain view station. the first special train leaves 60 minutes after the end of the game or whenever it's full and the second one leaves 85 minutes after the finish. as a reminder caltrain is saying to buy your tickets ahead of time. the last time seattle was here on thanksgiving day 2014 they won. seahawks quarterback sherman and wilson were eating on the 49ers logo as part of the post- game broadcast this after beating the 9ers 19-3. it got so bad jed york apologized to fans on twitter. this time around they are 2-4 in the season and not talking as much trash. >> this is a big game. no bones about that. anytime you play seattle it's a big deal. so, um, i wouldn't expect that we would get anybody pumped up for this game. >> there's always been a little beef between us and them and it makes it more fun and it's just a physical game. >> reporter: kickoff is 5:25 right here on kpix 5. >> thank you. tonight's game as kiet said right here on kpix 5. don't miss it. coverage starts at 4:30 right aftea special edition of kpix 5 news at 4:00. i have all the numbers correct. talking about the 49ers later on today which will delay traffic in the afternoon. don't forget, we have the san jose sharks also playing and that will delay traffic along the guadalupe parkway as we begin there with my first map along highway 87 this morning. looking good, no delays this morning. no accidents for the south bay. keep in mind with the two big games scheduled for today this will create big delays around 880, 237, 101 and 280 approaching downtown san jose. as we move on to the rest of the commute we are still watching this accident just outside of the caldecott tunnel westbound 24. as you leave the orinda area, bound for oakland, do watch out for the crash in the left-hand lane. it will cause some backups there. earlier accident eastbound 80 at mcdonald in richmond it just cleared up from lanes -- it's just cleared up from lanes. over at the bay bridge toll plaza we have a backup in the cash lanes. fastrak looking good. once you pass this though traffic does fire" have been turned [ indiscernible ] a plea. one pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and he was arrested last month for driving a stolen car with stolen items inside the vehicle. rice sterling moore pleaded guilty for being in a restricted area during a disaster. habitat for humanity is lending a helping hand in lake county by launching a fundraising drive. the home building organization hopes to help some of the low income residents who had damage and loss. habitat for humanity aims to raise a million dollars through their fundraising drive. anyone interested in making a financial contribution should contact the lake county chapter of habitat for humanity. four suspects are in custody this morning after a manhunt in two cities. with rifles drawn, san francisco police cornered the suspects after a wild chase across the bay. the chase ended on 280 near third and mariposa streets in san francisco. the suspects jumped out of a car and fled into a nearby construction site. a work there are saw them running from police yesterday afternoon. >> crossed the job site, two jumped over the fence and ran down the street. and one ran under the garage. >> police set up a perimeter around the site trapping the suspects. two hours later with rifles drawn, a tactical unit went in and within 20 minutes police had four suspects in custody. oakland police are leading the investigation. so far they are not saying what crime in the east bay the suspects are accused of committing. a spike in coyote sightings and attacks on pets are the subject of a community meeting tonight in san francisco. the sightings could mean a family of coyotes has created a den and is raising young in a certain area. it's also possible that young coyotes are looking for new territory. whatever the reason, there have been at least two attacks on dogs. tonight's meeting happens at 5:30 at the lake merced boathouse. this morning santa clara county health experts will provide an update on the shigella outbreak linked to a mexican restaurant in san jose. so far the county has confirmed 93 cases of shigella. san mateo county has two cases and santa cruz county is looking into five suspected cases. the restaurant marisco's san juan on 4th street already faces two lawsuits. and kpix 5 spoke with the man who went to an emergency room over the weekend with a fever of 105 degrees. >> really was nausea, running to the bathroom a lot, a lot of stomach cramping, really, really bad abdominal pain. >> the county health department is still investigating the exact of the outbreak. a new policy to control rent and richmond is now suspended. it had been set to take effect last month after the city council passed an ordinance. but a petition backed by the california apartment association as well as realtors and homeowners put it on hold. then on tuesday the city clerk ruled that the petition does have enough valid signatures and now the issue may go directly before voters. in oakland, the city council has approved funding to help enforce minimum wage and tenant protection laws. on tuesday night, the council approved a budget amendment. it allocates $240,000 to implement the minimum wage law and $100,000 for tenant protection. city leaders want to make sure workers are not being shortchanged. they also want to ensure that renters know their rights. 8 minutes after this thursday. we are taking a beautiful view of the bay bridge. the skyline of san francisco, with a high temperature today will be above average at 73 degrees. the full forecast is coming up in just four minutes. before you get cozy and warm in front of your fireplace this winter, there are some tough new rules of the plan from the bay area air quality management district is designed to reduce fine particulate pollution. wood-burning fires are supposed to burn far more cleanly. there's new terminology called visibility emissions limitations. so you get 20 minutes to get your fire burning and after that, if the smoke is too black, you could get fined. also, no more wood-burning fireplaces in new construction. and starting next year, the air district wants to completely phase out the old fireplaces. the district will offer financial incentives to get rid of your wood-burning fireplace. a five-year-old boy in mendocino county is okay after spending the night in the woods. he got lost near his parents' home. it started when he took his dog for a walk. brett bowman ventured out from the house on tuesday around 4:30 in the afternoon in brook trails near willits. crews searched a forest filled with bears and mountain lions all night and then at 8 a.m. yesterday, they found brett and his dog two miles from the house. they say the dog stayed next to the boy to protect him from any threats and for a time would not even let rescuers get close. the boy was a little cold but otherwise okay. later this morning, democratic presidential front- runner hillary clinton will face a republican-led congressional committee. the panel will ask her about the attack on the u.s. diplomating compound in benghazi, libya -- diplomatic coming pound in benghazi, libya when she was secretary of state. it will be the first public hearing in ten months for the house select committee on benghazi. clinton's testimony comes a day after vice president joe biden announced that he will not enter the democratic presidential race. he was joined at the white house rose garden by his wife and president obama. biden had been putting off a decision while his family dealt with his son's death. he decided against another run at the white house though saying there wasn't enough time to organize a viable campaign. clinton said this online, the vice president is a good friend and a great man. today and always inspired by his optimism and his commitment to change the world for the better. republican paul ryan is a step closer to become the next speaker of the house. the wisconsin congressman picked up key support from the house freedom caucus. that's the group that helped push speaker john boehner into retirement. paul ryan still needs to hear from two more caucuses. if he doesn't get solid support by friday he will withdraw from consideration. there are likely some tired feet in the tri-valley area this week because kids at pleasanton's hart middle school have been dancing for three weeks and here's frank mallicoat, you know frank. >> i know frank. >> with one very "cool school." ♪[ music ] ♪[ music ] >> reporter: it's showtime at pleasanton's hart middle school. 300 kids getting their swing on. >> this is so much fun and we are enjoying it and having a good time. >> reporter: 15 years of good times. dance became part of hart's p.e. department in 2000. for three weeks each fall the kids couple up until they crown the top dancing pair. it's a great workout, school spirit sky high, and the kids get a big shot in the arm, too. >> i think it's just a really fun way to get into school spirit and stuff. and it's a good way to have fun. learn something new. >> it's a little nerve-racking because i want to make it far, but at the same time you just want to have fun. >> i can tell kids who started at a certain point weren't sure if they had a partner to they are doing stuff out here with smiles and compliments afterwards. it's amazing. >> reporter: this is a family affair. parents flock to the gym to watch. iphones in overdrive and their kids learn everything from swing to uptown funk. and there's an added bonus for the kids, too. and you get to meet boys. >> yeah. >> it does, yes. >> reporter: frank mallicoat, kpix 5. >> pretty good dancers there, aren't they? >> very nice. what about your school? >> what about my school? >> yes? >> i'm looking for a school for next week. so that means you have to send in your nomination. >> and yes. you can email your nomination to us at coolschools@kpix.com. we may come, michelle may come, and feature your school on the show. >> yes. and i need a school. so come on. send those emails. let's check with liza for a look at the commute. >> good morning, everybody. we are going to talk about this morning's commute. you know, we have been oooing and aaahing over these beautiful pictures brought from our photojournalist max cabrera. just beautiful shots. what i'm enjoying about this picture is traffic moving along just fine. this is westbound at the bay bridge shot from yerba buena looking good heading into the city. as we move on to the toll plaza pictures, you know, westbound traffic at the pay gates is still flowing well. we do have a brief delay just in a few toll lanes but the metering lights are off and you saw from the pictures once you pass the toll plaza traffic does okay heading across the bay bridge. 18-minute drive time between the carquinez bridge and the maze in oakland. over at the golden gate everything is as it should be with light traffic. all the overnight roadwork from marin county has been picked up along 101. and southbound traffic is fine approaching the golden gate bridge. now, heading for the altamont pass, you can always count on delays. those backups begin beyond the 205 interchange. it's going to stay heavy beyond vasco heading towards pleasanton already. but the good news is all the overnight roadwork we had at the dublin interchange has been picked up and traffic is now moving well for both 580 and 680 right at that interchange there. 580 flowing well heading down the dublin grade. heading for the rest of the bay area commute we have been talking about the south bay. expect big delays for the afternoon and evening commute. we have the 9ers playing at 5:25 and also san jose sharks are playing at 7:30 this evening. that's going to delay traffic along 280 and the guadalupe parkway. if you plan on attending either one of those events, think about taking mass transit and buy your tickets early. right now this morning, local transit looking good. no delays for bart, caltrain or muni. that's a look at "kcbs traffic." now to roberta. good morning, everybody! time check now, 5:18. do you remember when we first began our weather watcher program i might have one or two people checking in with me? >> it's always good football weather. are you ready for some football? let's take you to levi's stadium where we're at kickoff tonight at 5:25. we'll have air temperature of 76 degrees under mostly sunny skies. right now as we take a look towards mineta international airport, and the stadium, we have a temperature of 56 degrees. it is 48 degrees in santa rosa with areas of fog. now here's what you need to know today. it's going to be bright and sunny but it will be cooler from 70 at the coast to the mid- 80s inland. your full forecast, hey, brian, it's coming up at 18 minutes after the hour. thank you. police in berkeley believe the same man keeps trying to kidnap children right off the street. lisa chan is in berkeley where we now know the latest close call happened on sunday. >> reporter: people are being extra vigilant in berkeley. police just told us there have been five recent kidnapping attempts. now, extra police cars have been on patrol looking for the suspect. the first few attempts happened september 18 when a man tried to kidnap three girls and a boy on telegraph avenue. then on october 18, police believe the same man tried to kidnap a girl playing on college and webster. then just 15 minutes later yelled at three girls on the same corner to get in his van. >> it's one of our highest priorities. >> it's worrying. i see this as a nice area. >> reporter: witnesses cite man as hispanic in his late 20s to early 30s with dark hair and a scruffy face. he was last seen driving a black cargo van without side or rear windows. police say the man is persistent. berkeley unified school district is holding workshops to tell children what to do if this happens to them. lisa chan, kpix 5. caught on camera, a violent encounter between a muni driver and a passenger. [ yelling and cursing ] >> cell phone video says the passenger dragging the muni driver off the train, he then attacked him on the street in san francisco. a driver is in the dark colored clothing. this happened last week on the t line in the dogpatch area. >> there's a mechanical issue with the train and he got orders to bring the train back into the yard for repairs. at that time, he did ask the patrons to off-board the vehicle and at that point, this individual appeared not to have liked that and spat on the operator and pulled him out of the train and then the video starts. >> other passengers broke up the fight. muni says the driver acted in self-defense. a san jose police officer who mocked the "black lives matter" movement is out of a job. the "mercury news" reports that the police department fired phillip white. he had posted comments like, quote, threaten me or my family and i will use my god given to and law appointed right and duty to kill you. such comments are covered by free speech protections but the department can fire cops who do things to affect their abilities to do their jobs. a should go outbreak is linked to a mention -- a shigella outbreak is linked to a mexican restaurant in san jose. there have been 93 cases. san mateo 2 cases, santa cruz looking into 5 suspected cases. the restaurant marisco's san juan already faces two lawsuits. betty yu spoke with one diner who got sick. >> this is a very serious risk. it scared me. >> reporter: it sent gregory meissner to the emergency room saturday night with a 105- degree fever. he says he got shigella after he picked up take-out from marisco san juan number 3. he ate the ceviche process staff da and by the next morning -- >> it was nausea, running to the bathroom a lot, a lot of stomach cramping, really, really bad abdominal pain. >> reporter: gregory is back at home recovering. but not back at school. he is the dean of students at independent high school in san jose. he is the first to sue the restaurant owners. he is asking for unspecified damages for missing work and pain and suffering. >> i have no animus against the restaurant owners or anybody. i just really don't want me, myself, or the other people that i know and in my neighborhood at risk. >> reporter: the santa clara county health department is investigating the source of the outbreak. it's spread by restaurant workers who don't properly wash hands before touching food. if that's the case, legal analyst judge ladoris cordell says that would likely leave the owners on the hook for medical bills and more. >> a restaurant owes -- has to exercise a duty of reasonable care. that's the legal standard. they must maintain an environment that assures that the product which is the meal, is safe. >> reporter: the health department is still pressing all the employees here at the -- testing all the employees here at the restaurant to figure out which one is infected. in san jose, betty yu, kpix 5. it's open enrollment time for millions of americans who get benefits through employers. >> cbs news business analyst jill schlesinger joins to us explain what's new for next year and what you need to know to make good decisions. >> reporter: good morning. [ laughter ] >> cahill was there, as well. >> mets deserve it. >> how are the roads, liza? looking good. sports it on our mind. we have the 9ers tonight. we can watch it here on channel 5. we are talking about traffic this morning, though. over at the bay bridge, these beautiful pictures brought to us by max cabrera. westbound traffic looking good once you're on the bridge. now, getting to the bridge, that's going to be the problem this morning. we have delays at the bay bridge toll plaza extending already to the foot of the maze with the metering lights on. so it's going to take about 10 minutes to get through the delay right now leaving oakland heading into san francisco. it's 21 minutes between the carquinez bridge and the maze in oakland. but against once you pass all this traffic is okay across the bridge into the city. because of an earlier accident we had in the bay point area, traffic much slower than usual. the accident at bay point has just been cleared from lanes. but westbound traffic is still recovering and those delays extend to "a" street with traffic the length of highway 4 between antioch and the concord area so be prepared for those backups this morning. the golden gate commute has been fine. southbound traffic still flowing well leaving southern marin heading into san francisco. no delays as of yet for 580 heading across the richmond bridge. that's a look at "kcbs traffic." good morning, everyone. heading to sfo, so far no reports of any local airport delays. we'll keep a watchful eye because we have pockets of dense fog visibility down to a half mile in santa rosa. it's crisp at 48 degrees. otherwise 59 in san francisco. it's in the upper 50s across the bay bridge in oakland, as well. here's what you need to know on this thursday. areas of fog mainly sunny stayed a few increasing clouds during the late afternoon hours but mainly sunny throughout the whole weekend. we'll call it partly sunny by sunday. this is really interesting doings. we have hurricane olaf right there, okay? keep that in mind. meanwhile, high pressure it has been going nowhere very quickly. it's just been hanging tight to the california coast. next week, this is a long-range forecast, the remnants of olaf will spill into the northern half of the state. we'll see increasing clouds by tuesday, wednesday. it will turn muggy. we are keeping our fingers crossed for a chance of subtropical rain showers by the tail end of next week. today temperatures still averaging above normal. 70 pacifica. 70s common across the bay today. 80 in mountain view. these temperatures are three degrees cooler than yesterday. they will feel the difference especially when the winds picks up out of the southwest 10 to 15 miles per hour. here's the extended forecast on friday. similar conditions. we'll introduce a few clouds over the weekend with a flattening ridge of high pressure. temperatures status quo. i just love this each and every year. it's boo at the zoo this weekend. san francisco zoo 65 degrees. take the kids out and have a great time of. michelle, frank? >> frank!
