The rain is coming down bow degas bay, santa rosa, with pockets of heavy rain. We are starting to see it reaching marin county. And it will get heavier around san rafael within the next few minutes. Across the richmond, san rafael bridge, it is looking quite wet. We will likely see more issues on the roadways. Now head over to mike. Rain adding problems for two highways. Two highways. And also the airs. Kari got word that the latest update flights threehour delays. Check the status of that flight and continue to check with us on our app and on air. Looking at most of our roadways which are looking great. Two areas of major concerns, highway 17, thats the one to the south. It is still open. The mudslide is still blocking the northbound lanes. Traffic flowing in both directions on the southbound side. That lane shift between Granite Creek and vine hill shows south summit. Traffic is accessing both sides. But this will be a continued delay throughout the weekend likely. We have a crash in sinole. Im falling that around the 84 interchange. The other vehicles are out of the roadway. Back up to the other concern. This is highway 37. This roadway had been flood as it has been the last few storms. They havent cleared it yet. The rain is coming in. You see the green highlighting showing the wet road weather. It will be a problem for at least highway 37. Theres so much more going on in the north bay. Theres been so much rain. Now the flooding. Especially for people along the Russian River in sonoma county. It is expected to reach flood stage later tonight. Pete suratos is in guerneville. They are monitoring the river level there. Highway 16. What do the conditions look like. The lower parts of guerneville and also in the rv park, we had a chance to talk to people and say they are used to flooding conditions but have different takes on the situation. Its taking a risk, yeah. But it is taking a greater risk with this thing. The current flood is not so bad. This has been more of the landslides and downed trees that caused more trouble the actual level of the river. So the Current River levels are roughly at about 32 feet. It is expected to trend down to 29 feet this evening. It is going to pick right back up tomorrow morning. Pete suratos for today in the bay. Thank you so much, pete. Now we want to take you live to the Santa Cruz Mountains right now. Mudslides and washed out roads and major problem for people in that area. Crews are race to go clean up before the next round of storms. An update when highway 17 should reopen. Caltrans crews are work to go break up and clear out this mudslide from tuesday. Right now only one lane is open in every direction. It isnt expected to fully reopen now until monday. Thousands of commuters are affected. But it isnt the only area having problems. Take a look. Tuesday night a van almost vanished into a sinkhole on skyland road. The driver is okay, but the road is still closed. No estimate for when it will be back open. Just a bit too close for comfort there. 6 05. It is smooth sailing for commuters who are traveling westbound 580 through livermore. All lanes fully cleared just before 11 00. Now, it wasnt so smooth when a huge pothole appeared in the righthand lane. Workers trying to clear it up and patch it up. A dozen cars were damaged when drivers hit it. But then the brunt of the storm moving farther south through the peninsula and the east by 9 00. South bay will see that rain between 10 and 11 00 and gettingier as we go through the day. By 2 00, its still raining. It will be getting lighter in the north bay. Thats where we will start to catch a little bit of a break. But the south bay will be in with the brunt of the storm through the evening commute and still raining later tonight before it all wraps up. And flothis is expected to stay below monitor stage. Along mount helena, we are expecting the area to flood. The flood stage is 16 feet. As you can tell, it is still rushing pretty strong out here.
