the sun always seems to shine on friday. >> the sun comes up every day. >> unless there's clouds. >> good morning, kari. >> good morning, sam and kris. light, patchy fog in spots otherwise clear skies. 51 degrees in the east bay and north bay at 55 degrees. looking at highs today again in the 70s. 76 in the north bay and while we have 72 in the east bay peninsula and the south bay. we'll take a look at that weekend forecast for your easter egg hunt coming up in a few minutes. let's see what's happening at the bay bridge with mike. >> kari, if you're looking for a good drive, the bay bridge is a place to look. the upper east shore freeway we do have a crash, made its way over to the shoulder without any problems and a smooth drive for the rest of the bay. typical slowing towards the caldecott and no big surprises for anybody around the bay right now. >> mike, thank you. we start right now with breaking news out of brussels this morning. two americans now confirmed dead in the terror attacks in belgium. sasha and alexander from new york were killed in the bombing at the brussels airport. >> let's go right to "today in the bay" steve handelsman live in brussels this morning. steve, we know that these two, a lot of hope they would be coming back to new york alive but sadly seems to not be the case. >> it is terribly sad. finally confirmation that two people who live in the usa and feared lost here, in fact, have lost their lives. confirmation of two of four americans who were feared lost and unaccounted for. they were lost and unaccounted for and feared dead and now confirmation that sasha and alexander has lost their lives. a friend of sasha described her as "one terrific chick." spoke five languages. they were born in greece and then resided in the netherlands not far from here. they spent time here in belgium. they lived in new york city. the sister and the brother had reportedly flown and just landed here in brussels airport on a trip. sasha had to go to greece on what is described as some sort of immigration matter. they called home and the report is that you can only hope this report is exaggerated that they were literally on the phone with their mom when their mom says she heard a loud noise and the phone disconnected. send chills up your spine. but these two young people are now confirmed killed. part of the 31-death toll here. the only good news to report in belgium is that the belgian police have stepped up their work to try to prevent another attack here. they've been criticized. actually not much by belgians of failing to break up this plot even though they focused on the neighborhood where the killers apparently came from looking into the paris attack and now john kerry is here vowing to help the belgians and everybody else to focus on the threat of isis terror and without naming sasha and alexander pinczowski. we now move to our second breaking news story we're following this morning. first, happening right now in the east bay. police are responding to home invasion. >> investigators combed through the two different scenes here. bob redell is live at hayward police department with more details. we know several people were arrested and anybody still at large that we should know about? >> right now, not according to police. they do believe, they do have four people in custody, kris and sam. they arrested four people, including two young women after a possible home invasion taking place at the plaza verde apartments. this an apartment complex at 550 berry avenue. police tell us they are investigating a break-in into one of the units there that happened some time before midnight. not clear if anyone inside the unit was hurt. but we do know the suspects escaped and ended up crashing their get away vehicle, a sedan, just a couple of blocks away. it's not clear if this crash happened because of poor driving or if they were being chased by police. the video does show a man from the car being handcuffed. being wheeled away into an ambulance. police have taken four people from that car into custody, two females. young adults, possibly teenagers. bob redell, "today in the bay." >> we'll bay area, we investigate. off the ils iminneta. take lookr . off the rails in minnesota. take a look at this freight train that crashed near a propane truck. several car trains derailed and the semi truck caught fire. no one was seriously injured despite how bad that looks. the nearby town had to be evacuated. right now decision 2012 and three more caucuses tomorrow just for, did i just say 2012. i just went back in time and now we're moving to 2016. >> president obama will not be running again for election. voters in hawaii and alaska and washington state will head to the polls. >> well, as for the republicans, it's an all-out war over the wives between donald trump and ted cruz and it's all about an ad by an anti-trump super pac. trump saying he will spill the beans on mrs. cruz. all of this really not sitting well with women who are going to the polls this weekend. our nbc poll shows that nearly half of republican women say they would never vote for donald trump. and you can follow week and we will be dropping back to 60 degrees on tuesday. and this is part of the reason why. we've had a high pressure blocking any rain but the jet stream takes a dip. that separates the cold air from the north to the warm air to the south and also allows for the low pressure systems to drop in. this will be moving in from the north and could bring in light snow for the sierra. i the bay area i'm sure to the people i represent. >> b.a.r.t. says a tiny, expensive part might be the key. the parts arrived, as they should, in four weeks. the commuters say a fix needs to happen sooner than that. a section of light rail service is out in downtown san jose and things are going to stay that way through the weekend. the vta suspended both regular and express service between the civic center
