It reaches out and grabs you for all the wrong reasons. Up to 14 years . The median number was seven. Seven years, though . Seven years. We used to say a couple of years, four to five. Median meets right in the middle. Half the women had more than seven, half had less. Some experience vaso motor symptoms, hot flashes and night sweats for 11 12 13 14 years. Thats primarily what they were talk building. Those are the ones that cause an in convenience. Do we know what causes that . We dont exactly. What was really the strength of the study, it was so geographically and ethnically very diverse. One was race. They found africanamerican and Hispanic Women suffered longer duration symptoms. And age of onset. The longer you start the longer they can last. If you start with the hot flashes before you reach menopause, they last a lot longer. It starts earlier and lasts longer. For a lot of women its confusing, is this menopause, perimenopause. When youre in perimenopause, the transitional period you start skipping periods menopause is no period for 12 months consecutively. Is there any relief anything you can do for hot flashes and night sweats . Hormonal therapy, some behavioral modification. Hormone replacement therapy. They have caveats.
