Weve never seen him try to walk without his legs until now. This morning for the first time youre about to see video of Oscar Pistorius reenacting the actual shooting. And it is chilling. At one point he holds his hands out in front of him like he has a gun. This could turn the trial upside down. It is Oscar Pistorius like weve never seen him before. The olympic blade runner at his most vulnerable. Without his blades, without his legs. Walking, even turning around with ease. This video was prepared by his team for trial but it was leaked and broadcast on australias network. I came around the wall. Reporter pistorius reenacts the entire shooting. When he killed his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in the bathroom. He says he thought she was an intruder. In the video pistorius even pretends to hold a gun. Arm extended, hes still able to walk and balance without his legs. Here even walking backwards. And showing how he crouched behind the wall. I heard the noise and i fired four shots. Reporter it was reeva in that bathroom shot. Then he shows how quickly he could put on his legs in just over 25 seconds and how he found reevas body inside the bathroom. And the head was down. Reporter pistorius then dragged reeva out of the bathroom and carried her down the stairs. In the video, pistorius sister playing the role of reeva. In court today the prosecutor hinted at the video while cross examining his doctor. Was it demonstrated to you that mr. Pistorius was able to walk backwards . On his stumps. It was never demonstrated to me. Reporter is this damaging to the pistorius defense . Well, on the face of it, definitely. It does look damaging. It completely contradicts what theyve said in court that he struggles to walk. In the video you see he can walk, hold a gun, and turn around and walk back again. Yes, it is damaging. Reporter the pistorius defense team angry this video came out calling the leak illegal. Since they didnt show it in court, they say its a violation of Attorney Client privilege, also an invasion of Oscar Pistorius privacy. For their part, the network said they obtained the video legally. Thats why they aired it. Meanwhile we have new developments from the courtroom. But under the law that company must quarantine the product for 24 hours before delivering it. And even then cannabis city will only receive ten pounds total. We supplier we have, he sold everything he has. Reporter for washington this is a gradual rollout. As many as 20 shops will get licenses to sell today even though 70,000 have been applied. And only 79 people allowed to grow out of 2600 applicants. Were going to do this right. Were going to take the time it takes. Im sure like colorado there will be fewer stores and i suppose theyll run out of product. Im guessing its going to be until the later part of this year youre going to be able to get a reliable supply of cannabis. And it came in and bit me. Reporter you can see the seven foot shark leap out of the water near robles trying to get away from a fishermans line. I grabbed its nose and tried to pull it off of me. Reporter he was left with gashes to his chest and arm. A lot of screaming and yelling. It was horrible. I wouldnt catch it. Reporter while juvenile great whites are uncommon near the beach, attacks off Southern California are very rare. Fishermen on the nearby pier were chumming the water to attract fish. Then fought the shark for 40 minutes. They try to bite the hook off all the time. Reporter fishermen insists they werent trying to land the shark. In many places great whites are protected and those conservation efforts have ended in a surge in their numbers. Get back, get back. Reporter this one was spotted off new jersey last month. This one off brooklyn. In the atlantic, the great white population is up 42 since 1997. They are also increasing in the northern pacific. Meaning encounters with humans may be on the rise too. White said her photo was harmless compared to other things she sees. I feel like there are much more inappropriate pictures on facebook. Reporter overnight facebook explained its decision in the statement to nbc news. It is hard. With over 1 billion people using facebook we have a put in place a set of universal guidelines. These policies are to ensure facebook remains a safe, secure, and trusted environment for everyone on facebook. Facebooks efforts to dictate what is and is not appropriate content have come under fire before. Just last week the company removed these photos of the 19yearold texas cheerleader posing with animals she shot during a hunting trip in africa. Facebook was responding to an online petition signed by more than 130,000 users. In a response to her critics, white has since reposted an edited feature of the video with an emoji with a message. I looked for one to go over the butt saying kiss my butt. Her words, not mine. Even with that covering the bottom, the revised photo has been reported as inappropriate at least five times by other users. Just for people tuning into this right now, you filmed 12 years consecutively. You checked in with each other during the summertime, i guess. What was the pitch like to ethan for this film . Well, what are you going to be doing 12 years from now . Still going to be acting . Going to be alive . No, its just a new way to tell a story. You remember it. It made sense at the time because wed been talking about doing a sequel to before sunrise. And so we were kind of interested in the idea of revisiting characters over time. And the beautiful thing is being able to you know, families most movies have to condense it to some tiny moment that is an example of everything. In this movie we get to really use the whole experience. Youre cast when youre seven years old . What was it like for you at six and then became seven. What is it like for you to sit and watch this movie and watch yourself grow up on film . Its incredible. I mean, its kind of like nothing else. Its a very strange part of yourself. Its hard to project at 6 years old. He was the most interesting of all the kids. The way he thought, his taste, things he talked about. Went with the interesting mysterious kid. You play mason sr. , ethan. Talk about your character is little bit. I dont know what to say. His character is growi ining upa divorced family. So hes seeing his father every other weekend. And whats interesting is, you know, kids dont really think that much about their parents. They experience them, but, you know, i talk to my kids and they dont really know what their friends parents do. What does your dad do . He goes to work. You know . And so we had to create a character as seen through the eyes of a 7, 8, 9, and 10yearold. So you watch Patricia Arquette who plays the mother, and you watch our characters change just through their eyes. I heard this described as sort of like going to camp. You would get together each summer and check in. What was that experience like getting to know these guys over the course of 12 years . You can be honest here. No, i mean, it was kind of an art camp. I didnt have a lot of commitments growing up, so it was like something to go back to and kind of be invested in indefinitely. Kind of set a pace to get to work with these guys. They have quite a method. Theres a little story about the title of the movie. Its called boyhood. You originally wanted to call it 12 years. Over the next seven days well walk you through the tastiest parts of the bird beginning with wings. Thank you for having me. Tell me why, of all the recipes you looked at, why this is your favorite . Because who doesnt love buffalo wings . Today is the 50th anniversary of buffalo wings. So we couldnt start this week better, i dont think. Everyone loves good wings. I think this a great method that is much easier to make than people even think. And theyre baked. You dont have to stand near a pot with frying oil. Get the house dirty and all that stuff. Lets dig into this. Where do we begin . Im going to put you to work. Of course. Slide to my right. If you want to mix together the baking powder with the flour, im going to show the audience when you go to the store this is what the wings look like. You want to separate them. The little wing here, i dont like to roast that. I snap that off. All right. Dont throw that out. Makes for a great chicken stock. Open this up like a v. Then you go right down the center. And it tells you exactly where it wants to be separated. Add them to a bowl. Im going to ring my hands quickly. If you toss the flour in the chicken. All of it . Yeah. They need to be coated really well. Basically what were doing is were going to be drying out the wings. Thats an important step. We have a wire rack over a baking sheet. And a wire rack is super important for this. When you wash them, you want the air to go around the chicken, so it doesnt get soggy. Spread them out here. Yes. Spread them out. Now you want to put them in the refrigerator for a few hours or you can do it overnight. Okay. Im going to wash my hands while you do that. While you do that, im going to put together my bleu cheese dressing. Youre starting with your favorite hot sauce, were making a bleu cheese dressing to go with it. Im making it homemade because its worth it. Ill go the extra step. Here ive got mayo, sour cream, white wine vinegar, lots of chives, worcestershire sauce, and cream to thin this out. And then i am just going to season this with some salt and pepper. If you want to whisk this together for me, you can. Absolutely. Go ahead. Im going to switch back to the wings. And basically you put them in a singer layer on your baking sheet. You let them dry out. After a few hours or so, theyre nice and dry, you get your oven preheated to 450. The reason i do that is were making plain buffalo wings. You can make so many different varieties. Weve got tons of different spices, jerk seasoning, barbecue, you name it. These are so good. Theyre sampling downstairs. I dont think i have to ask. How do you like it . Love it. I cant believe theyre crispy. Arent they amazing . Its bad we have our elbows on the table. We love the sauce. Whats in the sauce . The sauce is amazing. The sauce is fantastic. Four thumbs up from the panel. Excellent. We added the bleu cheese and this is what they look like. Theyre crispy and gorgeous. Shes a comedian that i respect and trust very much. And im not terrified because im not telling like knock knock whos there. Im putting humorous twists to reallife stories. So itll be the me that a lot of people think that they see, but have never really seen at all. You have another bucket list item well get to in a moment, but first talk about the show. The daytime tv talk show is really hard to conquer. Really hard to do very well and have the staying power. You just got resigned again to 2017. Why do you think its successful . Were renewed until our eighth season and i dont you know, the landscape of daytime is difficult. And i would say my opinion and maybe the shows humorous take combined, me, my producers, the way we do things, were not reinventing the wheel but we do it different. Yes. Left with the gashes there you see to his chest and arm. He was trying to get the shark to open its jaw. I dont think i would know what to do in that situation. They always say punch them in the eye or nose. When youre in the mouth of a shark, you panic. I hate that shark advice. They say remain calm. No, no, i cant remain calm. Im staring at the thing in the eye theyre saying punch the shark on the nose. Whats amazing is the guys who jumped in and helped him out as well. Which, you know, imagine jumping into a beach with a great white shark and helping this stranger. What would you do if you saw someone in need whether its an attack like this or just a bad car accident . Would you have the presence of mind to run into a dangerous situation . Thats the big question. How do you prove your medal in that situation . I was driving a couple days ago outside new york and not too far in front of me, a pickup truck flipped over. According to the National Center for injury prevention and control, nearly half a million children ages 5 through 9 are injured every year from dog bites. Kelly boyd knows this firsthand. She was the victim of a dog attack back in 1999 when she was just 7 years old, and ever since she has devoted her life to protecting other kids from similar situations. We want to share her story, but we should warn you that some of the parts are graphic. At 7 years old i was playing in my neighborhood when i saw a dog lying in its driveway. I knew the dog and didnt think twice about walking over to say hello. As soon as i got close, the dog lunged and bit me in the face and throat. Everything happened so fast. I remember a lot of blood, worrying about my face, and being afraid to go to the hospital. I received about 100 stitches in my face and throat and bruises and lacerations all over my body. One year later i was still being treated for post Traumatic Stress disorder and depression. I wanted to make sure this didnt happen to anyone else. With the help of my mother and a school psychologist, i started giving dog bite prevention presentations. Within a few years the nonprofit prevent a bite was formed. As a spokesperson for prevent the beat and dog bite prevention week, i traveled at length to raise awareness of the problem of dog bites to children. Sometimes something bad has to happen in order for something good to happen. I still have scars, but im proud of what they represent. I recovered from my trauma, regained my love of dogs, and now keep other children safe from dog bites. I am a survivor. Kelly is here along with dr. Karen halligan, a chief vet. Good for you turning something so negative into something so positive. That shows real character. That post traumatic is traumatic really for a reason, right . Did you have difficulty for about a year until i was 8 i suffered from post Traumatic Stress disorder and depression, and i just wasnt myself. I didnt do anything that i loved before. Its a weird thing because i think weve all been in a situation where weve walked by someones home and theres a dog there, and dog may actually come at you, and your instinct is to be fearful. Youre not 100 sure what to do. What is the right thing for someone to do if a dog is approaching them without a leash, just coming at you . Go ahead. Well, if the dog is coming at you, i mean, you never want to run away because the dog will always catch up to you. Theyre faster than you are. We always say stand like a tree or lie like a rock. Stand like a tree, you cross your arms across your chest and look straight down. Dont look the dog in the eye. Dont make eye contact. Dont move. Dont make a sound. Wait until that dog is far away before you move. If they sense fear and they know youre scared the majority of dog bites are from dogs that are not spayed or neutered. Especially the male dogs. During mating season. Yes. Spay and neuter your pets. Thats going to help prevent a lot of bites. Loo. They can sense fear, and youre scared thats something you cant control is your fear. You have to be confident in what you are doing. I whn i walk into a friends house, her dog is pretty scary, but i got to be confident in what iming to. Show that dog that im not afraid. Whats the mistake that you made . Did you think that the dog was injured and you were trying to help it, or should you not have approached it at all . I should not have approached the dog. I went up on the dogs property and pet the dog, so the dog was just being protective of its owners and the house. What should if someone does get bitten, i mean, she was bitten severely, obviously, but if someone gets a nip or something, what is the right thing for a person to do . Well, think of it like a car accident. I mean, you really need to document it. Even if it doesnt seem that big of a deal, the next bite could be a big deal. You want to get the name, address, phone number of the person that has the dog, the owner. Take pictures. Then you want to go down and file a report with the jurisdiction that does your animal control. That might be the Humane Society or police department. That needs to be reported and documented. That particular dog had already bitten three times. That could have been prevented. What about workmen that come to your house just to do you have to keep your dog away because he is doing what he is supposed to do. Protect the yard. If im walking my dog, and someone bend down to pet him, and its hard in that split second to say, oh, well, but thats what people do. They bend down. Thats not the right thing to do, right . We teach responsible Dog Ownership along with canine body language and simple safety and canine techniques. A person when they approach a dog, weve come to follow the steps of wait. The w stands for wait. Wait and see if the dog looks friendly. Then ask the owner for permission to pet the dog. Then we say curl up your hand in a fist. It shows interest.
