fireworks accident. this one happened on east duane avenue in sunnyvale. and also new details on a deadly fourth of july accident. authorities say gunfire may have caused a power line to fall, electrocuting two people in a home in oakland. officers were called to a house on birch street late last night about a downed power line that went into the house. according to pg&e, gunshots may have hit the power line and caused it to snap. police found two men who had been electrocuted. jermaine tarver died instantly. 23-year-old tresylian redd was taken to the hospital listed in critical but stable condition. neighbors say holiday celebrations this year sounded louder than ever before. >> this is the loudest i've had. last year was nothing compareded to this year. last year was like a candy walk -- cakewalk. >> crews did work on repairing that line today. firefighters tonight are keeping an eye on interstate 680 in fremont where there were two separate grass fires. fremont andc calfire crews were called there today. a total of five acres burned. so far, no word on a cause there. and evacuation orders are in place for a grass fire burning in yolo county. authorities closed highway 128 between winters and highway 121. the fire started at monticello dam last night charring 5,000 acres. firefighters have it at 30% containment. they ordered people to evacuate their homes at the golden bear estates in the town of winters. also under evacuation orders, the canyon creek resort campgrounds. you could see a lot of smoke filling the sky over the shore of lake berryessa. this was taken by cal fire this afternoon. we know it's been bright and sunny, a beautiful saturday. taking a live look at san jose here on your left. then to downtown san francisco on your right. if you like the heat, wait until tomorrow. meteorologist rob mayeda is here with some of those temps. it will be hot. >> it will be. in fact, today we managed 90s out by livermore and south of san jose. the headlines moving forward, fog on the coast, some cooling in the extended forecast. but in the meantime as we head towards your sunday, we'll see hot temperatures in our inland valleys, including around the south bay towards the tri-valley. norm near 87 degrees in san jose. another spot we're checking for you. pleasonton near 97 degrees. temperatures up. so the heat is a big part of the story for the sunday forecast. but another thing to watch out for if you're going to head to the high country, increased risk for fire danger due to lightning strikes. thunderstorms moving up out of southern california and southern nevada heading towards the sierra and some of this moisture by monday could try spilling over towards the coastal mountains. so we'll look at how the impact of both the chance of thunder and the heat in the extended forecast will make on the next seven days coming up in your full forecast in just a few minutes. >> thank you so much. finding alternate routes on this holiday weekend, drivers dealing with parts of interstate 280 being closed in san francisco. the northbound lanes are blocked off from traffic from the 101 interchange to near at&t park. nbc bay area's christie smith is live on the freeway in san francisco where all that construction work is happening. christie, you look the part. >> reporter: yeah, don't i? this has not been an easy closure for drivers at all. this is normally a quick way to get into downtown san francisco. but we got an update from caltrans. they say everything is going as planned, everything is on schedule. they still plan to reopen northbound 280 by 5:00 in the morning on monday, which was their original plan. they say the replacement work on a seismic safety hinge is going well. it's a 50-year-old hinge that helped 280 flex during an earthquake but it's worn out. they said they're on the next step putting in new cement and rebar. 65,000 drivers use the northbound lanes on a normal day. so the closure is putting drivers onto 101 or the surface streets. each repair, they say, with it, it may go even smoother. >> it was the first of the four hinges. anything that the construction team saw, they were able to see that and on this project, they were able to learn from those things f anything that you do the first time, you're always going to learn from the first time. so with this project, we're hoping that everything goes according to plan. we open at 5:00 a.m. and the motoring public gets to drive at 5:00 a.m. on the freeway. >> reporter: of course, this work happening during the busy fourth of july weekend. there is still the fillmore jazz going on, free opera at the ballpark at at&t park. organizers tell me they are expecting at least 20,000 people out there. at 5:00 a.m. monday the bay area may be getting the message about drinking and driving. drunk driving arrests were down in many parts of the bay area this fourth of july holiday. in santa claritk santa clara co officers arrested 13 people. in san mateo county, there were eight arrests. and in oakland, police arrested and cited 118 people for a variety of charges. the most of those being for illegal fireworks. dangerous waters in southern california after a long distance swimmer is now in the hospital. he was bitten by a shark at the popular manhattan beach. reggie kumar talked with the people who jumped into the water for the rescue. >> i heard a blood-curdling scream. >> reporter: that scream came from the man bitten by a seven-foot juvenile white shark in the upper torso under his arm. the shark is known as a great white shark once fully grown. the incident happened near this red buoy several hundred yards from the manhattan beach pier, a surfer captured this picture. >> i grabbed a board and ran out there and i did junior lifeguard for seven years. >> reporter: justin jumped in the water along with several others to help the victim. a lifeguard placed the man on this rescue paddle board. >> he was laying on it. he had large lacerations on his side. >> a lot of screaming and yelling. it was horrible. >> reporter: l.a. county fire beach captain tracy lezot explains how this happen. >> fished by a fisherman and hooked up in the line. the white shark was attempting to get away from the fisherman. >> reporter: the male victim unknowingly swam right into the white shark's path and got bitten. a tourist snapped this picture of the shark in the water. >> the shark jumped right in front of the swimmers. leaped out of the water. none of the swimmers saw it. >> his injuries aren't life-threatening. it was a single bite to the chest area. he was treated by manhattan beach paramedics and transported to harbor ucla. >> reporter: great white shark sightings have become a daily occurrence in manhattan beach. a surfer recorded this video of one last month. i asked the lifeguard captain if the fishermen were trying to intentionally reel in great white sharks. >> the fishermen that we interviewed said he was using bait, salmon and anchovy. >> that was nbc's reggie kumar reporting. the beach was closed for several hours after the attack. it is now back open. next at 6:00, green cap, multicolored shirt and what appears to be a woman's frilly blue scarf around his neck. described as a white man in his 40s. a growing debate over the thousands of undocumented immigrants, mostly women and children, coming to the u.s. from central america. thousands of women and children all there from central america arrived on friday night in san diego via charter flight. they are just some of the families being transferred from overcrowded processing centers along the borders. protesters have successfully blocked three buses. yesterday they were outnumbered by supporters and those fleeing their country for a better life. >> everybody came from somewhere. what we're really here to combat is the hate. >> 90,000 undocumented immigrants from central america are expected to arrive this year in the u.s. president obama's expected to ask congress for $2 billion to help combat this growing crisis. and a developing story from iraq now where new video shows what may be the first public appearance by a leader of the radical group isis. the 21-minute video was posted today claiming to show "the invisible sheikh." he is delivering a sermon at the great mosque in mosul. the video was posted on two websites known to be used by isis. so far, it has not been verified by nbc news. the u.s. government is now offering a $10 million reward for capturing the leader. coming up next, airplane fuselages in the water. why these aircraft parts are scattered near a montana river. right now, seeing the fog moving into san francisco. 64 degrees. that cooling, the exception to the rule as we head through tomorrow as we watch our temperatures climb close to 90 in san jose and close to 70 in san francisco and around the tri-valley tomorrow, nearing 100 degrees. more on this temperature climb in our valleys and fire danger on the increase due to some dry lightning possibly in the seven-day forecast. a look at that when we come back. you certainly don't see this every day. take a look at this. very strange sight. aircraft fuselages stuck here in a montana river. a train carrying the aircraft parts derailed on thursday. a river guide took the pictures while on a trip this week. the aircraft parts were being shipped from a plant in wichita, kansas, to the facility in seattle. boeing's sent a team to assess the damage. meteorologist rob mayeda is here also with that microclimate forecast. i understand you're saying tomorrow could be even hotter? >> that's right. we're going to be officially in our summer type of microclimate with 60s on the coast and getting very close to 100 degrees inland. san jose tomorrow, we're thinking closer to 90. the clear skies in san jose right now. but a little chilly around oakland and san francisco. you see the reason why. we have the ocean air conditioning and the fog spilling into san francisco. 65 in oakland. that's very close to the first-pitch temperature we'll see for the a's coming up. winds out of the northwest from 10 to 20 miles per hour. the wind speeds around san francisco, a little gusty, up to 25. they should back off around 8:00 tonight with those onshore winds eventually pushing the low clouds back in across the bay over towards oakland and hayward and possibly very briefly out towards the tri-valley for the morning. you see the low clouds on the coast keeping the temperatures down for now. but those push back away from the coast tomorrow allowing some of the areas near the beaches. the numbers climbing into the 80s. watching this moisture out of southern california. some of that in the form of high clouds will start showing up tomorrow. and we should see it first in the east bay and south bay. so we have to watch this mid level moisture. during the summer etch though these are the driest months of the year, they could generate some elevated convection which could give us some lightning. but for tomorrow, low clouds. drizzle in a few spots. 90s in the valleys as early as lunchtime tomorrow. breezy and dry conditions as the winds pick up. the late-day sea breeze will turn on later in the day. for the bay area, these are the low clouds on the coast. notice that moisture start to come up for sunday on into monday. a lot of thunderstorms over lake tahoe, possibly some convection trying to fire up over the coastal range not too far from the bay area. with this type of moisture, we have to watch out for lightning strikes and the potential for some fires being started from some of that moisture. not enough to really rain out those fires. we have to watch that late tomorrow into monday. heat at least to start the week. as we head towards the middle part of the week, the high will break down to give us a stronger push of marine area. cooler temperatures in your seven-day forecast beginning as early as tuesday. tomorrow, 87. close to 90 in san jose. low 90s around saratoga. near 70 in san francisco. a little bit warmer for your monday. santa rosa up to 90 degrees. pleasonton, 97. i think monday will be the hottest day of the week for the tri-valley. livermore, another spot by monday that could get close to 100. dropping into the 80s by wednesday. >> impressive we pulled the dog out, gave that animal oxygen and transported him to a local veterinarian hospital. he seems to be in good condition at this time. >> lucky dog indeed as you can see right there. no other injuries were reported. according to firefighters, the fire could have been started by the dryer. it will soon be a little more affordable to visit san francisco. starting tomorrow, parking meters will be free on sundays in most parts of the city. the mayor says the change will make san francisco more affordable for visitors to spend time in the city. drivers still have to pay to park at most areas along the embarcadero, around fisherman's wharf and at&t park. kate scott joins us. the a's gave a lot of fourth of july fans quite a nice afternoon, i understand? >> that's right after take a look at this. very strange sight. aircraft fuselages stuck here in a montana river. a train carrying the aircraft parts derailed on thursday. a river guide took the pictures while on a trip this week. the aircraft parts were being shipped from a plant in wichita, kansas, to the facility in seattle. boeing's sent a team to assess the damage. meteorologist rob mayeda is here also with that microclimate forecast. i understand you're saying tomorrow could be even hotter? >> that's right. we're going to be officially in our summer type of microclimate with 60s on the coast and getting very close to 100 degrees inland. san jose tomorrow, we're thinking closer to 90. the clear skies in san jose right now. but a little chilly around oakland and san francisco. you see the reason why. we have the ocean air conditioning and the fog spilling into san francisco. 65 in oakland. that's very close to the first-pitch temperature we'll see for the a's coming up. winds out of the northwest from 10 to 20 miles per hour. the wind speeds around san francisco, a little gusty, up to 25. they should back off around 8:00 tonight with those onshore winds eventually pushing the low clouds back in across the bay over towards oakland and hayward and possibly very briefly out towards the tri-valley for the morning. you see the low clouds on the coast keeping the temperatures down for now. but those push back away from the coast tomorrow allowing some of the areas near the beaches. the numbers climbing into the 80s. watching this moisture out of southern california. some of that in the form of high clouds will start showing up tomorrow. and we should see it first in the east bay and south bay. so we have to watch this mid level moisture. during the summer etch though these are the driest months of the year, they could generate some elevated convection which could give us some lightning. but for tomorrow, low clouds. drizzle in a few spots. 90s in the valleys as early as lunchtime tomorrow. breezy and dry conditions as the winds pick up. the late-day sea breeze will turn on later in the day. for the bay area, these are the low clouds on the coast. notice that moisture start to come up for sunday on into monday. a lot of thunderstorms over lake tahoe, possibly some convection trying to fire up over the coastal range not too far from the bay area. with this type of moisture, we have to watch out for lightning strikes and the potential for some fires being started from some of that moisture. not enough to really rain out those fires. we have to watch that late tomorrow into monday. heat at least to start the week. as we head towards the middle part of the week, the high will break down to give us a stronger push of marine area. cooler temperatures in your seven-day forecast beginning as early as tuesday. tomorrow, 87. close to 90 in san jose. low 90s around saratoga. near 70 in san francisco. a little bit warmer for your monday. santa rosa up to 90 degrees. pleasonton, 97. i think monday will be the hottest day of the week for the tri-valley. livermore, another spot by monday that could get close to 100. dropping into the 80s by wednesday. >> impressive just a little bit for the kitchen. because your kitchen dreams can be big. ikea has it all. firefighters rescued a dog from a burning building in the north bay. vallejo firefighters were the heroes. they found the dog on the second floor of this apartment complex covered in smoke. took them 30 minutes to knock back the flames. that's when they found the dog. >> primary search, we located a dog. we pulled the dog out, gave that animal oxygen and transported him to a local veterinarian hospital. he seems to be in good condition at this time. >> lucky dog indeed as you can see right there. no other injuries were reported. according to firefighters, the fire could have been started by the dryer. it will soon be a little more affordable to visit san francisco. starting tomorrow, parking meters will be free on sundays in most parts of the city. the mayor says the change will make san francisco more affordable for visitors to spend time in the city. drivers still have to pay to park at most areas along the embarcadero, around fisherman's wharf and at&t park. kate scott joins us. the a's gave a lot of fourth of july fans quite a nice afternoon, i understand? >> that's right after their walk-off win over the blue jays, the a's lit the fuse on a firework of a trade involving their top prospect and a pair of all-star caliber arms. jeff samardzija and jason hammel was acquired for russell. that's all coming up next in sports. a day after completing the biggest trade in baseball this year, the a's are anxiously awaiting the arrival of what could be the final pieces for their championship puzzle. for those who missed it, oakland picked up jeff samardzija and jamb jason hammel from the cubs in exchange for their top prospect, addison russell. samardzija struck out 103 guys in 108 innings of work this year. combine that with his 2.38 e.r.a., and the a's feel like they're in world series contention. he will make his debut tomorrow afternoon. >> he's a good arm and from winner, 6-3, 6-0, the final. he wins her second title at the all england club. finally today, the san jose sharks have agreed to terms with tommy wingels on a contract extension. he's coming off a
