he was not on there. she didn't see him when they closed the doors and took off after some delay and confusion at the airport. is he in the wind at this point? is he in russia? did he find some other way out? is he not going via cuba, perhaps venezuela which we also heard? bottom line, edward snowden is nowhere to be found. we understand he's trying to get to ecuador. the foreign minister of ecuador say they are considering his application for asylum. they say he's being persecuted. they question whether or not treason is an appropriate way to describe what he's done, releasing this top secret information about government surveillance which they call a human rights abuse against the entire world. interestingly, though, the foreign minister also saying when it comes to snowden that they're in respectful contact and that's the way he described it, with russia. the u.s. has been leaning on russia this morning. we heard from secretary of state kerry. we heard from the national security council saying, look, we returned some of your high-level criminals to you, seven of them kerry said. we expect you to reciprocate. at this point it's highly possible he's still in russia. we we're seeing that happen. as we watch our live cameras, i saw quite a bit of slowing over the last five or ten minutes. things have started to smooth out after that first burst came. 5:48 i should be very exact. a live look, we look at the maps with our live sensors and we see some slowing, 680 towards 880. speeds coming down into the upper 50s. not a major concern, but that volume is building for your northbound routes throughout the south bay. a little slowing from north 87 from time to time coming into downtown. construction crews clearing from the 280/880 interchange, but they may be there. a distraction, but flow not a big concern right now. peninsula, an easy drive as well. look at the green all over these hills here, areas north of san mateo as well. dumbarton and san mateo bridges moving nicely. the green all over the area that indicates possibilities of slick conditions as you come out of the altamont pass, the tri-valley and 680 through the san ramon valley. live look outside shows you how things are shaping up for berkeley. westbound 80, a glow to the lights. i'll check with chp so they'll tell me what's going on. i'll check it out. >> i know you have connections, too. big-time announcement expected for the bay area's kraft fight hunger bowl. the big ten expected to announce today it will be affiliated with that bowl starting next year in 2014. that means each and every year a pac 10 team will pay a pac 12 team. it's now played at at&t park, but soon moving to the brand new stadium of the 49ers. it looks like another rough morning on the scott markets. scott mccrew saying falling prices not just limited to stocks. >> that's right. using a highly complex secret formula, jon, based on guessing, we are figuring the gas prices will continue to drop. that's because the american dollar is getting stronger. the fed says it's going to stop that easy money policy come fall. that's driven the dollar up. remember oil is purchased in dollars worldwide, and it takes fewer strong dollars to buy a barrel of oil than weak dollars. add to that the economy sort of puttering along and the fact we're several months away from a blend switch and the world respected mcgrew formula which i just made up says gas price also fall. of course, that's assuming investors don't take all the money they've got out of equities and throw them into commodities as we watch a live openings or a live closing from pixar on friday. look for the dow losing a hundred dead points or so off the open this morning. facebook on friday sat it found a bug that for the past year you connected your phone or computer's aress book to facebook so you could download pictures into your address book, some of the details in your address book were uploaded to facebook. they resided on the service, coupled have been accessible to other friends. for instance, marla, if i had your personal e-mail on my phone which i don't tell many people about, they could have been uploaded accidentally to facebook, one of my friends could have gained access to it. >> i wouldn't be mad at you though, scott. don't worry about it. such a smarty pants. >> 5:56 right now. what we all get access to is christina loren's forecast. >> that's right. looking good today. i love how he also keeps his pinky up as he's doing the zip. very nice, scott mcgrew. as we head through the day today, your best move, call out the umbrella. the showers quickly closing in on the south bay this morning. let me widen out and show you how much rainfall is coming. we are next to get hit. give yourself extra time. we'll track the showers minute by minute. i'll tell you when the first part of the wave comes through, another one right on its heels. 5:56. first let's check your drive, see how we're doing
