three this morning. reporting live along east colfax. i'm denver police looking for several suspects who carjacked a person at gunpoint. the victim was hit by one of the suspectssbut the crooks stole a black camry and later ditched it. it was found a few blocks away. the suspects are on the run this morning. it is 7:0 # -- 7:01. weatherwise, very pleasant. we are seeing some of the remnants of the watches in effect. i'll bring that to you and the 7-day forecast in just a bit: we are on fire watch, watching a trio 22 homes have been destroyed. hundreds are being forced to ?vacuate at the lake. nevada's governor has declared a state of emergency while hundreds of firefighters try to get the fire under control. so far it has scorched more than 2000 acres. firefighters were quick to get a handle on a wildfire that came dangerously cse to some homes in douglas county yesterday. this was east of parker road. the fire scorched about 30 that's good news. this is the second brush fire in the same area in just a few days. on thursday, a 30-acre fire charred a hillside in parker. investigators believe crews working on a driveway gate accidentally stalked that one. no word on what caused a massive original ppume. it spewed in commerce city around noon on friday. neither the state nor sun core have said what was in the orange plume or how far it may have traveled. petroleum engineer robert chase says know whether toxic chemicals were released and the final investigation is going to take time. >> they ought to be extremely cautious about what they're tellinn people it. saying it good samaritan rushed in to help. gear ended up being shot in the hip: also new this morning, this grand junction mother is facing child abuse charges. her name is grace aragon. her 9-month-old child drowned % in backyard pool according to the daily sentinel. investigators say aragon was drunk before the chhld was found in the water. she told police she had taken a bunch of pills with the alcohol before finding her son and calling 911. will not file charges against an evans police officer who shot a man last month. 28-year-old david blanco was staying at the roadway inn when police went to arrest him on an outstanding warrant out of kansas. when officers tried to arrest him, he pointed a gun at them. the officer then returned fire. blanco was not hit or hurt during that exchange. the da says the officee's actions were justified. we haveeseveral news alerts. aurora police say there may be victimized by this man right here, ricardo corral-venegas. he's accused of breaking into an apartment and sexually assaulting a woman last week. they say he tried to do it again on thursday. he apparently is a former police officer from mexico. he is now in jail. police say they hope other women will come forward. also, take a good look at this man, this sketch here, he's wanted by denver police after they say he tried to sexually assault someone on thursday. the attack happened near 36th 36th and forest in the park him, call police. now to the race for the white house, new accusations of sexual assault against republican presidential nominee donald trump. the trump campaign says and across the northeastern plains, low 80s, parker and castle rock, expecting a high of 80 degrees. elsewhere across the state, s and 70s for the mountains, very pleasant, but breezy up in aspen. 81 in grand junction. leadville ggtting to 60 degrees, and down to the well above normal, we are seeinggtemperatures potentially in the low 90s. with that, we also have a fire weether watch in effect the corner of the state, eaatern burlington, limon, we'll see southwesterly winds gusting up to 25 to 30 miles per hour. the high country could see even gustier conditions at higher elevations and then down to the south, like alamosa, we will be watching out for a red flag warning. gusty winds, low humidity, warm and dry conditions. this also rock, elizabeth, conifer, ever green. expect gusty conditions, this afternoon. here's our future cast, what we can expect throughout the day. decreasing cloud coverage throughout the southeast. should stay mainly sunny throughout much of the day. a concentrating on the airway motel. there here actually exchanging hugs and crying this morning. we do not know the conditioo of that victim or information about a suspect either, now, again, police are focusing on the airway motel, we saw police entering one of the units out here, but details remain limited. we'll be following developments as this morning continues. reporting live along east of colorado. right now, we are feeling some of the effects of a strong storm system that moved through the pacific northwest, increasing cloud cover will see clouds start to dissipate as we head throughout the morning hours. here's a view, the sun is just starting to rise, affecting some of the peaks you see there. it's going to be a gorgeous day across much of the high coontry. winds will pick up this afternoon from the southwest. downtown denver right now, partly to mostly clear skie wind are fast, southwest at 10 miles per hour. we will continue to see breezy conditions this afternoon and well above normal temperatures. highs today across the front rrnge, denver, broomfield, boulder, all at 81 degrres. allens park expecting a high near 65. feeling very pleasant in the foothills, across the northeastern plains, low to mid- 80s. now, normally we should be in the upper 60s, but today across the front range and plains near grand junction. we will cool down, though, not until next week. there is the chance of showers in the forecast. this morning, we know the names of the officers involved in a shooting in front of the kohl's department store earlier this week. this was in pueblo. the police department says officers john guerro responded to a shoplifting call. when they tried to stop him, they tried to run over the officer and they administrative leave n an investigation. a hiker on a trail in grand judges finds human remains. roger alfonso went missing back in september of 2013, his cause of death still under ?nvestigation. the sheriff's office is using we'll see gusty southwesterly winds, primarily gusting up to about 25 to 35 miles per hour in spots. and then a red flag warning is in effect down to the south. it aaso encompasses portions of the and we are watching a trio of wind whipped fires, 22 homes have been destroyed. hundreds are being forced to evacuate this morning at lake tahoe. nevada's governor has declared a state of emergency while hundreds of firefighters try to get the fire under control. than 2000 acres. firefighters were quicc to get a handle on a wildfire that came dangerously close to some homes in douglas county yesterddy. this was east of parker road. the fire burned about 30 acres, no homes were damaged, though. this is the second brush fire in the same area in just a few days. it was thursday when a 30-acre fire charred hillside in parker. investigators believe crews working on a driveway gate accidentally sparked that one: no word on what was in the massive orange plume th refinery in commerce city around noon on friday. neither the state or sun core have said what was in the orange plume or how far it may have trrveled. too soon to know whether toxic chemicals were released. >> they ought to be extremely cautious about, you know, what they're telling people, and saying that it's safe would be kind of irresponsible. exactly. >> now, this is not the first problem for sun core. in january of 2012, benzene was discovered in the refinery's drinking water prompting employees to go in for exposure testing. three months later, the company wassfined nearly $2 million for violating emissions standards for benzene waste, and a month later there was a problem with the processing unit nd clay dust shot in the air, and as recently as april, the plant was evacuated due to a water stream leak. this home health care worker is accused of stealing from clients' home and should hhve been reported months ago, we're being told. records state that charity huguley was fired in june from maxim health care for being accused three times of theft. since then, police say more than a dozen new victims have come forward. 3 her license was just suspended. maxim would not comment on camera. some in the industry say the they felts should have been reported earlier. >> when this happens, it gives our industry a black eye. >> what can you do before you make sure they do extensive national both the victim and gear survived. it's 8:05. this grand junction mother is her 9-month-old child drowned in the a backyard pool. investigators say aragon was drunk before the child was found in the water. apparently also told police she had taken a bunch of pills with the alcohol before finding her son and calling 911. the wells county district attorney's office says they will not file charges agginst an evans police offiier who shot a man last month. 28-year-old david blanco was stayyng at the roadway inn when police went to arrest him on an outstanding warrant out kansas. when officers tried to arrest him, he then pointed a gun at them. officer returned fire. blanco was not hit or hurt during that exchange. the da says the officer's actions were justified. several news alerts for you, first aurora police say there who were victimized by - this man here, ricardo corral- venegas, accused of breaking into an apartment and sexually assaulting a woman last week. they say he tried a shooting in front of a kohl's department store earlier this week. this was in pueblo. officers john guerrero nd carl spagles responded to shoplifting call when they saw a man in a stolen car. when they tried to stop him, he tried to run over officer guerrero and that's when they fired. a hiker out on a trail near grand junction finns human remains and the mist county sheriff's office has identified the victim as 74-year-old roger alfonso. he went missing in september 2013, the cause still under investigation. the sheriff's office is also using in as a learning experience bringing in forensic students from colorado mesa university. donald trump is denying that new wave of sexual misconduct allegations. it's been less than 24 hours since two more women came forward accusing the gop on and learn. and it's getting students with developmental disabilities into things they want. for nick it's geography. >> i went to canada, and europe two years ago. i went to austria, germany, and italy. those four countries. >> jenna says the keynote studies are taking her in a different direction. >> i'm studying early childhood development. and i'm also studying poetry right now. >> 47 states had inccusive programs before lawmakers colorado. it's something associate professor robin brewer has been working on at unc for years, and her program takes inclusivety a step further. >> they live in the residence halls with their peers. they have typical roommate. >> that means helping students learn to be independent. >> taking a student to the grocery store or to target, and they want to buy something, and they ask us for permission to buy it. and ii's like, we don't have to want, and you have the money for it, you can buy that. >> the program is designed to help students develop in thrre areas, residents life, like laundry, dining and campus life, things like clubs and recreation, and of course academics. >> they have really adapted incredibly well to the change, and the instructors have as well. >> stephanie hernon is the academic coordinator. >> the point is for the students to be able skills to work in a field that they're interested in, and that they have strengths in. for student brianna kim ball, that means taking a singing a step toward what she hopes is a career in public speaking but it's going to take some adjustment. >> i miss being home. >> you
