we're close to zero at all mountain towns, heading west. our highs this afternoonnnear 40 in denver. upper 30s to near 40. that's pretty mild. we're still a few degrees below normal. air quality today from the northbound side of i-25 at alameda santa fe. this is traffic coming off of santa fe going north on i-25. folks coming up from university and broadway. there's a semi, a tow truck, denver police blocking off the right lane. we have a hazard. not going to call for an alternate route at this point. you can get by without any delay. watch out heading frommthe south and into downtown. you can see it on the map, not seeing slow traffic because of that coming up from university brradway to that problem. everything else looks nice. north, south, east or west, even getting to dia smooth ride. thank you. students at legend high school. today there's a funeral for a teenager who died after falling through the ice in parker. this is just a day after learning a second teen has also died from injuries from the same incident. denver7 reporter lindsay watts joins us from legend high school this morning. >> reporter: what a difficult time for students and staff here at legend. the school's principal says douglas county schools crisis team will be here today to offer support for anyone who needs it, anyone who might want to speak to a grief counselor. it was only last night we learned sophomore max gantnier didn't survive. he was being treated for brain trauma at children's hospital since falling through the ice nearly two weeks ago now. legend's principal says max waa taken off life support over the weekend. the second teen who died after the accident passed away soon after it happen. his name is patrick lance, and family and friends will gather for his funeral later today. the two boys and another friend %- of a small retaining pond near tallman drive and hill top road in parker on january 14th. that pood is only about 5 miles %- away from where we are here. we still don't know what the. s were oing on the ice that day. the third boy did survive and has been released from the hospital already. live in parker, lindsay watts, denver 7. 5:33. deputies in elbert county want you to be on the look out for this guy on the screen. they think he's the person of interest in a shooting death of a rancher there. we're told ed butler gone to check up on cattle when he house. called his friend to see if anyone had permission to be on the property. he went inside the house and intruder. >> he stepped by the door, saw somebody and apparently he said, what are you doing here. went dead. gunshot wound. if you recognize the man in these photographs contact the elbert county sheriff's office. and killed a dog in 2012 and now the city is going to pay its owner $262,000. we spoke with chloe's owner who told us this brings a little bit of closure. >> i guess you can say in a sense he was my soul mate. just my little girl that went everywhere with me. replace chloe. >> in 2012 police were called to the neighborhood because the dog was running loose. after using catch poles and a taser, one of the officers shot chloe five times. the settlement end the legal and dog's owner. more legal problems for chipotle. a new lawsuit says the company tried to cover up the norovvrus year. it says one of the kitchen managers worked while having the symptoms. as many as 235 people got sick during that particular following that outbreak, a state senator is introducing a new billlletting people know if sick days. % restaurants to put a nooice on act. it's a proposed bill that would help end the crrminalization and incarceration of homeless people and their families. it's in response to a growing trend of cities making it illegal to sleep or sit or public places. >> we're looking for positive ways to reform the system in order to reduce homelessness around the state. >> the same bill was introduced last year, but it failed. even though street were completely trashed. they even rolled over cars. to make sure that doesn't happen and hiitory doesn't repeat itself, denver pd are going to increase their presence and make it known out security to help with anything. >> reporter: pd is not releasing the number of officers they'll be putting in downtown, but they say they'll definitely make their presence known to ensure that delays through aurora. easy commute times, 15 minutes, less than that north or southbound. i-25, this is the slow spot of the morning again, coming in from 120th to 84th avenue. that quick merge from
