((christianne klein)) >> senator elect catherine cortez masto will be the first latina in the u-s senate.. congressional wins here in nevada were one of the few bright spots in a night of surprises.. cortez masto addressed supporters last night promising to work towards a democratic agenda in a republican controlled senate... ((karen castro)) u becomes law january first. a lot of administrative work will follow. but it could up to a year before recreational marijuana is regulated. ((question two celebration.)) ((karen castro)) long-time marijuana supporter and actor tommy chong joined a small crowd during an election night celebration. recreational marijuana is no longer illegal in nevada for adults 21 and over. ((karen castro)) not get in trouble for possessing up to an ounce of pot. but it could be some time before recreational marijuana hits the retail market. the nevada department of taxation has a year to come up with regulations. ((denise valdez)) the i-team's vanessa murphy takes a closer look why. america ranks nevada the worst state for treating mental illness. ((dr. dale carrison/umc: there are many, many people in our community that have these diagnosis and they're out there.)) ((vanessa murphy)) it's a problem that hits close to home for doctor dale carrison. ((carrison: my sister was a nurse and she was bipolar and three years ago she committed suicide.)) ((vanessa murphy)) carrison is a leader at university medical center. he says in emergency rooms at valley hospitals there were more than 200 mental health related visits a y but now that number is reduced by 50-percent. ((carrison: certainly it's not solved. it's better than it was.)) ((vanessa murphy)) here's why those e-r visits are down: money. according to carrison, a temporary mental health task force for the state he served on helped make changes to how hospitals could be reimbursed for mental health treatment. that resulted in more specialized and longer term care at hospitals because they'd be compensated better for it. ((carrison: it's such a complex issue a lot of it has to ((vanessa murphy)) the division of public and behavioral health tells the i-team statewide there are nearly 43-hundred beds for mental health treatment. nearly 27-hundred are long term..... mroe than 1500 are hospital beds... and 70 are for short term visits. taking a look at nevada's population of more than 2.8 million... that means there's one bed for every 676 people... but it's estimated one in five adults in the u-s experience mental ((carrison: it can happen to any family.)) ((vanessa murphy)) carrison and li - two strangers with two very different backgrounds share a common concern.....they agree nevada needs to do a better job of treating the mentally ill. vanessa murphy, 8 news now. ((art stryer: "i could change the password at at&t, but it would not affect the yahoo password.")) (( laura hautala/ cnet "not being able to change their passwords right away is dangerous.")) ((michelle mortensen)) and cnet's laura hautala says .... art's not the only at&t customer struggling to change their yahoo password... even worse ... ((laura hautala/ cnet "some people may have yahoo accounts and not realize it..") ((michelle mortensen)) she explains - customers with at&t.. or sbc-global email adresses may also be affected - even if they never had a yahoo adress. ((laura hautala/ cnet: "wh account with broadband or other services, they had an option to create an email account that was running through a yahoo server.")) ((michelle mortensen)) that option dates back to a 15-year old partnership between at&t and yahoo... in a statement - at&t says: "yahoo is notifying all of our potentially affected customers, but we are taking the extra step of sending an additional reminder to those customers to change their passwords" though neither at&t or yahoo could confirm how many of those customers include people who least he knows he's part of the hack. art has now successfully unmerged his accounts-- using a 6-step process provided by at&t. if you're having a similiar problem contact at&t so they can assist you as well.
