((denise valdez)) we're following more breaking news tonight... two people are dead after a shooting outside a las vegas apartment complex. ((paul joncich)) >> metro police responded to the avery park apartments near torrey pines and smoke ranch after reports of the shooting. brittany edney was first on the scene. details. brittany? ((brittany edney)) >> 2 men were killed in a single shooting at around 6-p-m here in the parking lot... and those responsible are still on the loose tonight. metro tells us that they found two men shot by a car when they arrived on-scene. both victims were transported to umc trauma where they were declared dead. investigators say there's no word yet on whether this was gang-related. i can tell you that multiple residents here have said they've seen a lot of violence in the area lately and they're 9-and 6-year-old grandkids were outside playing when they heard what they thought was fireworks and ran indoors: ((joe, resident "the next thing you know, they come in and they say, no it's shots. turns out it's somebody that moved here about a week ago. somebody ran up to the side of the car where they parked and it looks like they took out two people. one in the front seat, one in the back seat." )) ((brittany edney)) >> joe adds that he's glad none of the kids playing outside got hurt today: 19:36:10 (( joe, neighbor "we've got the volleyball courts a window so the kids play there a lot and that's not the best thing so i think we're probably gone."))
