reporter: what he heard and felt was the stolen car colliding with this tree. another witness said it was wrapped around the tree. around 7 this morning the police got a call about a suspicious car. when they ran the plates. >> it came back stolen. the deputy tried to stop the vehicle and the vehicle failed to yield. >> reporter: that led to a high sped chase. >> the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene and two others were taken by air and are listed in critical condition. >> reporter: they aren't sure what caused the driver to lose control. >> sounds like they were trying to some fun. it's unfortunate. >> reporter: the accident is still under investigation and police have not identified the name of the suspect. now to san francisco where three family members were killed in a house fire at 1:30 a.m. last night. they had to cut through a door with two locks to get inside. rosy chu and coast guard -- the father and child and grandfather were killed. >> it seemed like they were doing the right things. working smoke detech tars, just -- detectors. just very tragic. >> the fire started in the garage. crews say a massive hay fire could burn for days. it started small propane takes exploded at a u-haul at a section of wood side road. the initial explosion caused a larger tank to catch fire. residents were told to shelter in place. a two-year-old girl hit by an suv earlier this week has died. she'd been in intensive care in oakland since monday's accident. she was chasing after a ball. the driver had been cooperative and no charged were filed. the name of broken glass, and shattered lives. the driver of a new model mercedes rammed into a chevrolet venture carrying a mother, her daughter and son. witnesses say the collision sounded like an explosion and sent the van airborne. >> the car was going at least 70. >> reporter: officers had spotted the car moments earlier but before they could start the pursuit it was too late. >> the vehicle went from the extreme southern most lane, crossed all the lanes, navigated a bus, and struck the van. >> reporter: the impact all but obliterated the van and killed the boy and critically injured his mother and sister. he also swiped a catering van. six people were sent to the hospital, but the driver survived. >> she looked really distraught. the driver is in police custody where she has been questioned. she did not appear to be impaired by alcohol or medical condition, but they have 48 hours to decide if they want to charge her. ktvu. the man accused of killing a san francisco state student outside of a muni car was hunting for victims. he faces charges for felony murder and possession of an illegal assault rifle. he shot justin valdez. he has not yet entered a plea. police are asking for the help of the public on a hit and run. they received a report of a body at about 5:45 this morning. they shut down middle field until this afternoon whiled they conducted the investigation. the victim is a white male in his 60s. they're asking anyone with information that contact them. we're learning a high school teacher reportedly admitted to police he had sex with a female student. 32-year-old
