Its within pretty quiet. The numbers are recovering. Down to 37 earlier in napa. Right now 56 degrees. 57 in San Francisco. We have the 5 10 sunset to look forward to. 57 in Half Moon Bay. Overall a lot of numbers are cooler than average in our east bay valleys. And where you see the numbers a little bit warmer, we will have a milder afternoon highs. Heres a look at our fresh snow. A couple inches in the sierra nevada. Thats long gone and a look for temperatures back home to be in the low and mid60s in the coast. Upper 60s oakland, out toward castro valley. Inland numbers approaching 70 degrees. Perhaps a warmup in the offering. Ill have the details in a few minutes. Lisa, thank you. Developing news. Police are investigating after four people died when their boat capsized near bodega bay. A fifth person was pulled to safety. Three victims have been identified. 79yearold Jesse Langley was from bodega bay, and samuel garcia, 86, from bodega bay, and 60yearold david costa from ripon. The fourth victim, a woman, has not yet been identified. This is video of the lone survivor who was rescued after the boat capsized around 10 00 yesterday morning. Abc7 News ReporterSergio Quintana has the latest from bodega bay. Witnesses say the coast guard and other rescue workers quickly recovered four people from the dangerous waters. One woman said she could see paramedics trying to revive them. The guy was pumping. The paramedic was just hauling on somebody. It was so i couldnt believe it. Three men and one woman pulled from the water did not survive. A fifth person identified as Philip Sanchez was pulled from the rocks by helicopter. Thats him being walked into the coast guard station by the rescue workers. He suffered minor cuts and bruises and was rushed to a santa rosa hospital. The 32foot long boat they were it was a complete loss. It broke up on the rocks over it pretty much got smashed to pieces by the waves. We havent seen any recoverable pieces of it. Philip sanchez has returned home from the hospital. We talked to some of his friends who tell us hes known the other four people in the group for years. Sanchez did not talk with us. His friends asked us to leave after he got home. According to the sheriffs department, none of the people in the boat were wearing life jackets. The coast guard is asking boaters to be careful the rest of the weekend. A wind advisory remains in effect in the area. Something as simple as a bad sparkplug or anything else, when you break down in winds like this, you drift so quickly you will find yourself on rocks in no time. Its very dangerous. The crash is still under investigation. Abc7 news. This Morning Police in San Francisco say they have located the driver in a fatal collision involving a pedestrian. The accident happened around 9 30 last night near third and cargo street. The victim is a man in his 20s or 30s. Police say he was unaware he hit someone. He was on a skateboard. Investigators believe it is possible the driver was unaware he hit anyone. Talking to the driver and witnesses to determine exactly what happened. A u. C. Berkeley student is dead after falling at oracle arena. Zachary bradley was a premed student in his second year at cal. Abc7 News Reporter lilian kim has the story from berkeley. By all accounts, 20yearold Zachary Bradley was a talented, wellrounded individual. His family said he was fluent in spanish, played several instruments, and inspired to be a doctor. On halloween he took a tragic fall. Bradley and his friends attended this concert at oracle arena in oakland. Authorities say bradley died after falling more than 20 feet. He was climbing down an elevated and restricted area behind the stage. His Fraternity Brothers are grieving. No one wanted to go on camera but they say they will miss bradley. They said they loved his spontaneity and sense of adventure. In berkeley, lilian kim, abc7 news. People at walnut creek are helping neighbors displaced by an explosion that destroyed part of a townhouse complex. It happened friday. It was on sunnyvale avenue. Two men who lived in the unit suffered severe burns and are still in Critical Condition at u. C. Davis burn center. Investigators say that hundreds of volatile butane canisters being used to turn marijuana into hash oil caused the blast. The explosion blew out windows in buildings across the street. The entire complex is uninhabitable. Some of the neighbors approached me and said that they were willing to help. A third victim showed up at a hospital later that day. Police say all three face felony charges. The attorney for the former california Highway Patrol officer charged with stealing nude photos from a womans cell phone said his client is sorry. 35yearold Sean Harrington resigned from the force. He faces two felony charges in connection with stealing pictures from a woman he arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. His attorney said in a statement that his client apologizes to the women and to colleagues in law enforcement. Memorial services will be held this week for two sheriffs deputies killed in the line of duty last month. Michael davis of sacramento county, and Deputy Daniel oliver were killed after a man went on a shooting rampage during a crime spree. Olivers Memorial Service is tomorrow at 11 00 at Adventure Christian Church in roseville. Davis memorial will be held the next day at the same location at 10 00 a. M. Suspect marquez and his wife, 389yearold janelle monroy, face more than a dozen felony charges, including murder. For the first time in four years the National Average for a gallon of gas is below three dollars. Even in the bay area. A gallon of regular of gas in san jose cost drivers 2. 82. Prices plummeted 34 cents in the last month, bringing the average cost for a gallon of regular to 2. 99. We havent seen that price since december 22, 2010. They received two inches of snow from the storm. 6 inches fell at squaw valley, and ten inches of fresh powder fell on Alpine Meadows upper mountain. Harming now, the sidewalks on the Golden Gate Bridge are closed for todays u. S. Halfmarathon. It happened during a test flight of a spacecraft that was meant to start carrying passengers next year. 39yearold pilot Michael Alsbury from tehachapi was killed. Alex perez has the latest. He gave his life for a cause he believed in, opening up space for humanity. The pilot that ejected remains hospitalized after suffering major injuries, but there is word he is now alert and talking. These images captured the final moments friday after as spaceshiptwo was released from the mother ship and breaking up in midair over the mojave desert. They were using a new fueled that previously only been tested on the ground. Before the crash branson had already sold his dream of space travel to some of pole woods elite. But branson admits the crash casts doubts on the project. Most shoppers who told consumers reports about the 25,000 outlet store visits are happy with the deal. 64 said they offered great value. When i start out im looking for great deals on great products. But reports were not as good for some other stores, including American Eagle outfitters, old navy, gap, nike, and levis. The city of san jose is changing the rules for outdoor water usage to coincide with end of daylight savings time. Beginning today it will be allowed in the morning at 10 00 a. M. And hand watering is allowed after 3 00 p. M. However, the sprinklers remain restricted to after 8 00 p. M. City Officials Say watering plants during the cooler hours means less water evaporates and the plants have more time to absorb the moisture. They emphasize, though, as we know, its still important to conserve, and even when it rains. The state is dealing with an ongoing drought. All these numbers are well into the low 40s with 52 in livermore and even concord this morning the mid40s. Heres a look from our roof camera. Nice and sunny out there. We look for more sunshine today. The sunsetting in San Francisco at 5 10. That brings us 10 hours, 33 minutes of daylight light. More autumn warmth is on the way. It will warm up until about wednesday and then a cooldown after that. All of california is seeing just a little built cooler than average. So today with the lighter winds it should feel pretty good midafternoon and we will look for temperatures to go above formal. Certainly in Southern California they are forecasting an offshore winds, the santa anas, and temperatures in the 80s by wednesday and thursday. Not that warm for us. Mid40s in tahoe. Some of that snow still sticking around. 49 in yosemite with just about 70 in sacramento. The numbers today, a little cool here but a nice afternoon for san jose, 67. 68 los gatos. On the peninsula, mid60s san mateo. And pacifica with the lower 60s it should feel about. San francisco mid60s. Petaluma 67. A couple of neighborhoods will be in the 70s from napa to sonoma. You head over to the east bay. Upper 60s a popular number from berkeley, oakland and fremont today. And inland really not much change with numbers here in the upper 50s as well. 70 in walnut creek. The numbers down around santa clara to be nearly perfect for a football game. 62 at about 1 00. A look for upper 60 4 30. The warming trend will be very subtle tomorrow, leks day. By wednesday we could be anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees normal in some parts of the bay and then the cool down thursday and friday into next weekend.
