And as we feerd, the hours of rain that we got was just relentless, caused quite a bit of flooding throughout the bay area. That includes the south bay and Los Gatos Creek. And in san jose, coyote creek, also flooded. A Mobile Home Park there, fire crews had to pump water out of the park. No one was evacuated but people have packed their cars and theyre getting ready just in case the situation gets worse. Also, another situation in campbell involving a tree that came down on an apartment there. Took a while for them to clear the branches and we heard from one of the men who lived there. Im sure this isnt the only place where this is happening. Im sure theres trees blowing down all over the place with the weather. Reporter and drivers dealt with flooding on highway 280 near winchester. Lanes were underwater and it backed up traffic for quite a while. In marin county, flooding not the issue so much, it is the mudslides. Take a look. The slide just outside of san rafael closed part of highland avenue. That is a road used by the residents. A eucalyptus tree at the top of the hill caused concern for road crews who removed it before it could come crashing down. Near tiburon, crews cleared another mudslide. With the holiday yesterday, first of all fortunately a lot of people were off the roads and that made cleanup a lot faster. Storm damage has forced caltrans to shut down parts of highway. Downed trees and mudslides are the cause of the closure. Drivers now asked to use highway 17 as a detour into and out of santa cruz. Keep in mind the chp is reporting a rock slide has closed southbound highway 17. And caltrans is reinspecting the Pfeiffer Canyon bridge in Monterey County today and you are looking at the reason why. You see all those cracks right there . That is the problem. It actually moved that area, that support, a half foot in one day. This is just south of big sur along highway 1. Caltrans says its moving because of mudslides under the bridge. They do not expect to find it safe enough to open today. You can see some of the crashing waves pacifica had its share of problems, high winds pounding the coast there. Now, high surf forced officials to close pacifica pier all day yesterday. The wind was so strong at times, so residents went to go down to see for themselves. It derailed as you can see from this image at a turn around point at one point, i saw at least five fire trucks, we had five ambulances on stand by as well as more than 15 police cars.
