It happened today inside the engineering building. Police describe the man as a transient. Tonight Law Enforcement is getting ready just in case there is a fourth night of election protests in oakland. The last three nights have seen thousands of protesters take to the streets, as you know. Dozens of people have been arrested, including 30 wednesday night. Well, hi, dan, what a difference a day makes. Last night at this time we saw protesters and Police Officers gathering by the dozens here near the plaza. Tonight maybe a dozen protesters here at corner of 14th and broadway and perhaps a sign that this movement is evolving. Reporter though not nearly as the night before. Thursdays protests in downtown oakland still left their mark. This shop had its front doors and cameras shattered. We have footage at 10 31, a lone vandal with a sharp hammertype instrument that hit the windows. Reporter auto row was also hard hit. Windows smashed at the mercedes and audi dealerships where bricks were the weapon of choice. Nobody got hurt. Were happy about that, and we wish people would have a more peaceful way to demonstrate here in oakland. Reporter the mayor says her Police Department is doing what they can to prevent vandalism without increasing tensions. It is so infuriating that a small group of cowardly vandals are using peaceful protests to shield their acts of destruction. You cannot blame the people that called for the action for people that did after the action was over. Reporter the protest organizer told us her group plans to move away from demonstrations like these in the coming days. The crowd chanted sang and talked in what was a peaceful demonstration. In san jose one person is dead and another hurt after a car crushed into a Credit Unions. Reporter dan, for the second day in a rosanne jose Police Responded to a deadly car crash that killed a person who was not even in a vehicle. In this case it was a painter inside this Credit Unions who was hired to do work on this building. A tow truck pulls an suv out of the alliance Credit Unions on san joses kirtner avenue. The driver collided with another car and slammed into the front doors of the building. The entire vehicle ended up inside surrounded by broken glass. The entire vehicle entered into the building, so the entire thing is inside and struck a wall on the inside of the bank itself. And thats it. It appears to have broken through a glass entryway. There were no customers inside but some painters were hired to do some work on the billing. Police say an suv and prius collided and the suv veered off the road and hit two of those painters. One of the men died and the other was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. Coworkers and Credit Unions employees comforted each other. They worked together for a while and all knew each other very well and they are having a tough time. Video from sky 7 shows investigators at the scene and Police Say One car was traveling westbound on kirtner avenue and approaching little orchard street and the other driver was making a right from little orchard on to kirtner when they crashed. Some of the landlords renting to vets are vets themselves.
