san francisco, carolyn tyler, abc 7 news. >> an 11-year-old boy is hospitalized tonight after he was stabbed by a 13-year-old classmate at school. is it happened in the locker room at martinez junior high school this morning. it was an unprovoked attack, he left the locker room and turned himself in to school officials, he was taken into custody without incident. the 11-year-old boy is expected to survive. new information tonight on a strange story involving a vallejo woman police say faked her own kidnapping with the help of her boyfriend. this was the alleged victim yesterday after she turned up in southern california and today her boyfriend's attorney said police got it all wrong. laura anthony is live with the latest on this case, laura? >> hi, dan, the latest is that as far as we know, denise the alleged victim is inside vallejo police headquarters as we speak, talking with investigators. earlier today, attorneys for her boyfriend held a press conference despite strong statements from the police they say aaron quinn was the victim. >> there seems to be a stream of blatant lies coming out about our clients, about the victim. >> the attorneys for aaron quinn maintain he's a victim not the perpetrator of a hoax in the so called kidnap for ransom of his girlfriend. he's the one who called police monday claiming huskins was taken in the middle of the night from his home. >> he was drugged and there were at least two kidnappers. i can understand some kind of theory if they were trying to get money out of someone else. the ransom demands were specifically to his accounts. >> they keep saying that he's telling lies, he's not cooperating. he has cooperated. >> wednesday night vallejo police stated they had zero evidence that huskins was kidnapped. and went so far as to say the whole story was fabricated. >> the fact that we wasted all of these resources for really nothing is upsetting. >> the revelations come after an exhaustive search for the 29-year-old huskins who turned up unharmed yesterday at her father's home in huntington beach. this morning abc 7 news spoke with huskins uncle by phone. >> i believed what my niece is saying. my belief, not a hoax. >> and that will be revealed pretty quickly. >> police say if the couple invented the kidnap story they could face state or federal charges. laura anthony, abc 7 news. california is moving toward loosening rules about where registered sex offenders can live. currently they're banned from living near schools or parks. under the new rules, the residency ban will only apply to pedophiles. the state corrections department said it is changing the policy and responds to a state supreme court ruling which found that blanket prohibition is constitutional. three teenagers have been arrested in the shooting and beating of a richmond manned. the victim was found critically injured in his car. the suspects ages 15 17 and 19 were arrested a short time later on 75th avenue. the names of the victim and suspects have not yet been released. police are still trying to figure out a motive. >>ed car slammed into a heyward house this afternoon, hitting the gas meter. this happened just before 4:00 on nevada road near longwood road. pg&e is trying to figure out if anyone's in danger. it's not clear of the extent of their injuries. 7-eleven in daily city will be closed after a 70-year-old man smashed his suv right through the front of the store. this happened just before 9:00 this morning witnesses say the driver appeared confused. he was the only one hurt he was taken to the hospital, the store as you can see is trashed. >> the man who killed a san jose police officer tuesday night died fwra a bullet fired by a fellow police officer the police officer returned fire after officer michael johnson went down and killed gunman scott dunham. the officer who shot dunham is a veteran of the department. and he stood his ground during the exchange of gunfire. shooting dunham in the eye. police are saying the officers heroic actions may have saved more lives. >> so many people are expressing so much emotion about what happened to officer michael johnson, the flowers and messages of support are everywhere. and tonight blue light bulbs like this one will soon become part of that tribute. abc 7 news reporter david louie tweeted this photo today. and david joins us live now from san jose with more. david. >> very simple thought a blue light bulb on your porch would shine into your yard. showing solidarity for the family of michael johnson. a simm imway that ordinary people can get involved. >> the memorial keeps expanding as the outpouring of support and expressions of sympathy grow. they pay their respects after they met with larry escovel. santa cruz was going through a similar tragedy when a suspect shot and killed a sergeant at close range. the memorial service was so large it was moved to the hp pavilion now called sapp center. the chief says officers have to lean on each other, when one of their own is killed in the line of duty. >> using each other as a sounding board to comfort one another, and to help you get through it. >> support is also coming from schools where flags are lowered and special messages posted. >> we hope that not only are our officers on sight but they're everywhere around us in san jose. >> a popular bar and restaurant will do a fund-raiser next thursday for the family at both of its san jose locations. >> we want to make sure that this family's taken care of. officers do so much for us to protect us keep us safe. as a community we need to do something to help this family out. >> david whitlock plans to go to the benefit and officer johnson's service. he watched last night as the body was transported to the funeral still under investigation. a bay area pioneer who helped establish the peace corps has died. many know nan mcevoy as the person behind mcevoy olive oil. she served on the boards of ucsf, the fine arts museum of san francisco. san francisco symphony and the art museum. mcevoy was 95 years old. some future leaders honored today. >> children in san jose chanted yes we can. they marched in honor of chavez, that was his slogan he he worked to improve treatment for migrant farm workers. his brother and nephew were there to march with the kids. >> the younger generations are now committed to values of nonviolence. volunteerism and public action. >> this is the 22nd year the school district has honored chavez with a march to the mexican heritage. some tough guys show their compassionate side today. quick winn tweeted this picture of 49ers meeting with students who are committed to stopping bullying on campus. it is a huge issue according to a 2013 government survey 20% of high school students reported being bullied on school property. that's one in five. chris joins us now from the san jose convention center. we saw the pro wrestlers who met with the students today, getting ready for the wrestlemania fan fest. chris? >> wrestlemania 31 has arrived in the south bay. we already saw people stopping by behind me. yes, you know, the big event isn't even set -- is set for this sunday over at levi stadium. but earlier today students at a local middle school were treated to a different kind of show. >> the school yard can be a rough place for some. inside the lunchroom at joseph george middle school a valuable lesson was being learned. >> i'm going to be a wwe superstar, people were like, yeah, that's not going to happen. absolutely not. >> but it did happen. today he spent some time speaking to students about the battle against bullying. >> i still get bullied to this day, twitter all the time. >> a personal connection to an issue many of us have faced. >> kids can go to the website, go to irs.gov and they will -- there's a tab called payments, go there, and you can sign up for payment plans. >> you pay interest on the payments, right? >> you always pay interest on that, you're going to have some penalties if you can't pay late. if you can't pay, don't be afraid to file the returns. >> as long as you tell them they don't come and find you. >> you you see plenty warm elsewhere, santa rosa 83. along with livermore, ante og. half moon bay, you escaped the heat, 68 degrees you did start out with some fog this morning. and speaking of, as you look at live doppler 7 hd this is what's going to bring about some changes, fog is already starting to come back in it will fill in along the coastline. this is where you want to go if you want to cool off and you don't like today's warm weather. >> 75 right now in san francisco, 82 in oakland. san carlos in the 80s, half moon bay 61 degrees. bright and sunny looking out toward the bay. 81 in santa rosa 82 in livermore, nothing but blue skies from our exploratorium camera, look at the forecast, it's changing. fog returns to the coast tonight. cooler tomorrow afternoon, and temperatures will rise again by a few degrees on sunday. high pressure pretty much maxed out today. we're looking at our peak strength today, cooler weather is am coulding beginning tomorrow. let me show you what's going to happen overnight tonight, you're going to see that fog back in along the coastline and a few patches near the bay. temperatures tomorrow morning, upper 40s to the mid-50s. when you get going, allow that extra time, especially with the fog around. you'll see here for your friday, the fog will peel away from some areas, but not all. temperatures will drop in most areas, looking at 50s along the coast, 60s around the bay, and 70s inland. it's still going to be warm inland but not as warm as today. south bay gilroy 82. san jose, cupertino, 78 you're going to be 76 in sunnyvale on the peninsula. 72 in san mateo. half moon bay, pacifica, 60s with the fog around. daily city 64 degrees. not exactly 80 degrees you'll feel the difference when you drop to 68. 60s at the coast 77 fan pa, 75 in vallejo out toward the east bay. freemont hercules, inland spots still very pleasant and warm, 80 degrees in livermore with sunny skies. accuweather forecast. cooling tomorrow. temperatures bounce back by a few degrees, mid-60s to mid-80s on sunday. we're going to keep you in the mid-60s to the upper 70s to low 80s range monday through thursday next week. a mild to warm pattern heading
