A major News Organization shows its investigation shows facebook does not properly moderate images even after it is told theres a problem. Abc7 News Reporter kate larsen is live in menlo park outside of facebook headquarters. Reporter natasha, reggie, you know, the bbc says that facebook actually reported their journalist to police after the News Organization sent examples of explicit content to a facebook executive in the uk so that that executive could are review those images in question. This happened after the bbc used facebooks report tool to flag more than 100 pornographic and exploitive images of and about children, but according to the bbc, only 18 of those 100 images were removed. Facebooks automatic replays back to the bbc said the other 82 did not breach community standards. Now, facebook later provided a statement saying they removed the illegal content from their site and that, we take this matter extremely seriously and we continue to improve our reporting and take down measures. Facebook has been recognized as one of the best platforms on the internet for child safety. Now, facebooks rules also exclude people, sexual offenders, from having their own pages, but the bbc is reporting that they reported five pedophiles to facebook and that those pages were never removed. Fremont is tired of waze leading you on to side streets in search of a shortcut. This is the latest bay area city to push back and try to beat these traffic apps. Its a sign telling you, do not trust your app. They are trying to outsmart your app. This is on via san dimas right off mission boulevard in fremont, which is a main thoroughfare. The sign says you cant turn right on mission during rush hour, which is how you would get back on to interstate 680. City planners are trying to make the detours your apps send you on unpleasant. Residents have been complaining their neighborhood streets are clogged with cars that are trying to avoid freeway congestion. The city has put restrictions in place but officials admit it is hard to stay one step ahead of these apps. Again, some of the navigation applications are smarter than we are, so they adapted. When we made a left turn restriction, they districted people to go straight and into another neighborhood so weve had to, again, be very mobile ourselves and adjust on the fly. Reporter they have the Police Department involved. Officers are citing drivers who turn when they arent supposed. To they think their efforts have made a difference but say the relief is probably temporary as the apps keep looking for alternatives and as drivers keep passing through here, residents are just getting more and more frustrated but these drivers are trying to get around congested interstate 680 and also highway 84. Todays inspections are the next step in securing emergency aid. Abc7 news went to the rock springs neighborhood to see how the cleanup is going. Some roads still remain closed and some apartments still off limits to renters. Volunteers are needed, especially people who speak spanish or vietnamese. A relief fund for victims is now up to more than 6 million. Residents are being told to register to receive money at the shirakawa community center. Drone video revealing the work underway right now to repair the main spillway at the oroville dam. The department of Water Resources posted this video. It shows crews working on the left and then do you see the water that is spilling on the right side of the screen . Crews are working to reinforce the concrete underneath the main spillway so more of it doesnt break away. The next step is going to be filling to gaping hole that opened up. They are cleaning up. Also wants to show you new video of kansas where an airport was slammed overnight as well by severe storms and a lot of damage there, not only to the planes but not hangers. No one was injured in this particular place but in oak grove where we have those live images coming in, there were 15 people reported injured and so they are dealing with a lot, not only with those injuries but all of that cleanup, a lot of homes, about 20 homes damaged overnight. Your looking at arkansas, louisiana, mississippi, and then going up into the parts of tennessee just east of memphis, severe thunderstorm watch. Could have hail, winds, and isolated chance of tornado. This is more of a squaw line where you get those Straight Line winds and heavy rain and hail and as we head through the next six hours, you can see its the deep south, the Tennessee River valley into mississippi, alabama and also in georgia that will have the best threat of severe weather. It turned into an emotional and incredible rescue story. And the state has hundreds of millions of dollars happening today, voters in Sonoma County are going to decide the fate of a marijuana tax. Measure a would impose a 10 tax on businesses that grow or sell medical and recreational pot in unincorporated areas of the county. Supporters of the tax say it could generate up to 15. 5 million in revenue a year. The money could go to county services. Richmond police found an illegal pot growing operation after arresting three people and recovering a gun. Four people were walking on a roof of a home and climbing into a window. The judge said silva is a flight risk. Fbi agents arrested him on sunday. He embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from a youth organization. A significant portion of money flowed from the stockton boys and girls club account, specifically into Anthony Silvas personal pang bank account. The alleged theft happened from 2010 to 2014 while silva krold the Bank Accounts for the stockton boys and girls club. The university of california appears ready to limit the number of out of state students admitted to the uc system. It will consider limiting the number of undergrad who are not from california to 20 . And that limit would be the first ever for the tencampus system. The university has been under pressure from state lawmakers to give californians top priority as scathing state audit last year found the university had double the number of out of state students over the last five years. Those students pay a much higher tuition. The dying art of shoe shining is getting new life in San Francisco.
