This had been a gentry fid neighborhood, rising rents the reason many suspect arson. Some people say gentrification is good for business, some say its not. Investigators will be looking at similarities between fridays fire and arsons in may and last july that devoured another apartment building. It was just two miles away on the oakland emoryville border. That building was also under construction when the fire started. Both in a sparewell. Theres a 110,000 reward offered to catch the arsonist. This afternoon residents near the big oakland fire got parking tickets when the cars were stuck in the evacuation zone may be getting a reprieve. San Francisco Police are looking for someone who threw a bathroom sink at a police car early this morning. Take a look. This happened at 24th and mission streets. Police were out there investigating the Fatal Shooting of a man around 3 00 this morning. Thats when a bathroom sink crashed through the rear window of a patrol car. Bizarre. Right . Police have no idea if somebody on the street threw it or just fell off a building. It was a large sink. It caused a lot of damage to the vehicle. And absolutely could have hurt somebody. Severely. Absolutely. Police have not made any arrests on the deadly shooting or the flying sink incident. Theyre trying to figure out whether the two are related. New clues and new reward money unveiled today in the effort to find the killer of a college student. Calvin reilly was fatally shot in San Franciscos aquatic park nearly one year ago. Youre getting a helmet cam view provided by contra costa Fire Protection district. The camera rolled on friday while crews knocked down a fire inside a carport along micasa court in concord. Nobody was hurt and the flames did not spread beyond the carport. Dozens of wildfires are burning all across the west, and here in california thousands of people have been evacuated. Including kids at a summer camp as firefighters work around the clock to battle the flames. Abc News Reporter don yeahbackas has the latest. Reporter 14 wildfires roaring in california. Firefighters fighting the fastmoving inferno from the air and on the ground. The largest, the alamo fire, growing to more than 24,000 acres. Thats more than twice the size of manhattan. In Santa Barbara county, the Whittier Fire shutting down both sides of a major highway, surrounding 90 camp children and 50 counselors at a nearby summer camp. The kids and staff told to shelter in place, waiting for two hours as crews tried to reach them. They knew there was children trapped on the other side. And they had flames directly in front where they could not access these children. Reporter we were there as they were loaded on to buses and rushed to safety. But if he wants his party to come together, both moderate and conservative republicans must get onboard. A difficult task when moderates think the new bill goes too far and conservatives say it doesnt go far enough. Senator ted cruz remains confident his party will repeal and replace obamacare. I believe republicans can come together to honor that promise, and i think the way to do it is to focus on lower premiums. Three little kittens that started life inside a piece of Construction Equipment are close to getting a far more comfortable home. The kittens were rescued from a construction lift about a month and a half ago by the peninsula humane society. They received a call from a concerned neighbor. But reaching the kittens proved to be a little bit tricky. And so we could hear them, but we couldnt get to them. So what we did is we have a portable inspection camera that we use for instances like this. However, this is the first time we rescued anything from inside a piece of Construction Equipment. Using the camera, they were able to retrieve the cats with a modified bird nest and nursed them back to health. They were raised in foster care before being placed for adoption today. I want to give you a quick update on one of the very rapidly weakening hurricane eugene right now. Yesterday was a major category 3 storm, now its weakened to a category 1 storm. Winds right now 75 miles per hour. It will continue to move to the northwest, enter cooler waters and future weather showing you as it does that, it will continue to weaken. This is what we call a fish storm, it stays out in the open ocean, will not affect the lower 48. By friday morning you can see it rapidly weakening into a remnant low.
