Things are looking great here in the bay area right now. As you can see, blue skies, sunny skies all around the area. So mild, warm in some spots. Heres live doppler 7 hd. You can see just how clear our skies are. Hard to find even a little patch of clouds right now. On we go to the lovely view from the mount tam camera. We will take a look at the forecast features. Sunny and warm tomorrow, even warmer than today. We will be haunted by rain on halloween. It will be mainly dry and mild this weekend. I will show you why we will be haunted by rain. Satellite image shows one rain maker to our north producing wet weather up in Washington State and oregon and in the northwestern corner of california but this is not our rain producer for the bay area. Its this second system, this cold storm that will be moving in for halloween. Lets start our forecast animation thursday night at 11 00. By 5 00 friday morning, we will see that cold front beginning to sweep through the bay area with a wave of rainfall reaching from north to south down through the central part of the bay area. But by late morning hours, by midday, notice how the front will have passed through with most of the rainfall moving with it and there will be some trailing showers behind the front which indicates that we may have mainly dry conditions for trick or treaters in the Late Afternoon and early evening hours. Rainfall totals, we project will be no greater than half an inch to an inch in the north bay mountains by late friday morning, most lower elevations will see anywhere from a tenth of an inch to about three tenths of an inch. In the san rafael valley, maybe only five hundredths to a tenth of an inch. It will get wet here a little bit and it will be wintry in the sierra friday afternoon into saturday. We expect several inches of snow there in Higher Elevations as this will be a colder system moving through. Snow levels will drop to about 4,000 feet over the sierra by saturday morning. Significant travel delays are possible so if you are going out that way or heading back here from that way, you might want to be sure you have your chains ready. Back to the bay area overnight look for clear skies, cool conditions. Lows in the north bay valley, cool with lows in the mid to upper 40s. Low to mid 50s elsewhere. Then tomorrow, sunny and warm from coast to inland. We will see highs in the low to mid 70s on the coast, upper 70s to near 80 around the bay and low 80s inland. Heres our accuweather seven day forecast. We will have rain early friday, halloween, giving way to showers later in the day. Might have pretty good conditions for trick or treating friday evening. Saturday morning, theres a slight chance of rain or showers early but mainly sunny afternoon. Sunnier and mild on sunday and monday. Mild fall afternoon on monday. Looks like the start of next week will be mainly sunny and mild. Lovely days ahead. A little tricky on halloween. Larry and ama . Thank you, spencer. Its one continuous shot and the video is five or six minutes long. They actually shot it in japan. In a world of short Attention Span theater, i was locked in. I have to go back and look at it again. Very very cool. Its a big new day for a Water Taxi Service in San Francisco. Today, tideline launched its brand new 40 foot boat that will offer service between San Francisco, marin county and the east bay. If this sounds like a ferry, the company insists that it is not. We do prefer a days heads up. Tell us the time you would like to go, how many people in the group, one way or round trip and we will get you to your place. Just ahead on abc 7 news at 4 00, the email slur that warriors coowner is now having to clarify. What the nba is saying about it. Also, the battle in the crowded mayoral race and one thing the lesser known candidates have going for them. The dangerous lava flow on hawaiis big island. Its just a matter of feet now until homes are gone. The countdown is on. We are now about half an hour to game six of the world series between the giants and the royals. If you couldnt be in kansas city, many fans are outside San Franciscos civic center for a huge viewing party. This is video from sky 7 hd. Hopefully this will end up turning into a celebration later tonight. The giants in k. C. With a chance to close things out. It is young versus old in the pitching matchup tonight. The royals are going with their 23yearold rookie fireballer, ventura. The giants will counter with 33yearold jake peevey. Ventura got the better of peevey in the royals game two win. Should peevey falter early tonight, could madison bumgarner, the giants star who has already won two games in this series, could he possibly be available out of the bull pen . Listen to the skipper. I have already talked to madison. He says listen, if you need me, im good to go. Im ready to go. So hes already come in and told me that. Hopefully hes not needed. Hes had one day off so we will try to get this done without him tonight. You want to take advantage of the moment and right now, we have a lead so we want to come in here and do whatever we cannot to give them any i guess glimmer of hope. You just want to kind of take it away from them early. If we can do that we have a good chance of winning. Got to score early. That is the key. I would be shocked if bumgarner pitched at all tonight. Maybe one batter at the moment. He gave the royals no hope in game five. We will see if peevey can do the same in game six. We will find out soon enough. The coowner of the Golden State Warriors is apologizing for an email he sent out where he unintentionally used the word hoodish, if thats even a word. He was responding to an email praising the franchise for having five International Players on the roster. He listed hoodish as one of the languages he planned to learn. Heres exactly what he wrote. Im taking Rosetta Stone to learn hungarian, serbian, australian, swahili and hoodish this year. But its nice. He later responded and said he intended to type the word yiddish, suggesting it was an autocorrect mistake. The nba has spoken with him regarding the email and says they do not plan to take any action against him. Election day is just a week away. In oakland, 15 mayoral candidates are vying for voters attention. A Voting System will make for a rather lively campaign but those who receive the little attention cried foul today. Abc 7 News Reporter Laura Anthony is live in oakland. Reporter well, much of the attention here has been focused on those candidates that are listed higher in the polls, for instance. The city mayor and several other candidates today, eight of the lower ranked candidates held a press conference to say hey, what about us. Einstein the canine candidate may have the loudest bark but with just eight days to go before the election, these eight legitimate candidates dont want their message lost in a noisy oakland mayors race. We just arent getting any coverage by the news media. This is supposed to be one of the most important races in california. Oakland deserves to hear from every single candidate, not just one or two or the top seven. Im probably one of the most qualified candidates for mayor. That includes the current mayor. I am completely opposed to the influence of money in politics locally and nationally. And im the only one conservative in the race. I have asian backing. Reporter this press conference was their way of getting some of the attention, especially when the current mayor and other frontrunners know how to grab headlines on a daily basis. We all agree on measure z. Reporter the crowded field is both a blessing and curse of the system. There are no fewer than 15 candidates. Even long time politicos say they are confused. I encourage everyone to go to youtube. Nobody understands it. Everybody that i talked to says to me okay, chief, explain this to me. Reporter for these candidates who barely register in the polls, their message has a lot to do with oakland abandoning whats comfortable in city politics. We need change in oakland. We need people to start running oakland. We need the machine politics to stop. How can they be so visual and were not . Tell me that. We have a voice. Reporter its a concept even einstein seems to understand. In oakland, Laura Anthony, abc 7 news. You can read about all the races and propositions in next tuesdays election with our abc 7 news app, free to download on google play or apples app store. We have more information on abc7news. Com apps. Developing news from the state of hawaii. We are just getting word that a river of molten lava has made its way into the small hawaiian town of pahoa on the big island. The river of asphalt black lava has slowly snaked through empty land for months. It has just burned down a shed on the big island and is now covering the yard of two homes closest to the volcano. Those residents have left that area. Abc News Reporter Emmitt Miller has the latest. Reporter a glowing river of molten rock carving a path toward the center of pahoa. Swallowing sheds, whole roadways and closing in on the fleeing villagers themselves. We dont know what were going to do. Its really scary. Reporter even scarier, at a temperature of more than 2,000 degrees fahrenheit, the lava only needs to get near a home to ignite it. As seen from above, one structure on the edge of town is already in flames. This trail of lava has been spewing from the mount kilauea volcano since it erupted in june. It traveled 12 miles since then, at times speeding up and fanning out to swallow parts of the hillside. The lush town of pahoa is directly downslope. In the 1990s about 200 homes were destroyed by lava flows from kilauea. The last evacuations came in 2011 when one home was destroyed and several others threatened. Officials say there is no way to stop the lava but they are wrapping power poles with concrete rings to offer a layer of protection. If the lava crosses highway 130, it would isolate the region from the rest of the island, cutting off an access and escape route for thousands. Big island Officials Say they are providing the residents with closure by allowing them to watch their homes being destroyed. Their despair is unimaginable. Emmitt miller, abc news. Police in denver are stepping up their search for a 53yearold man who vanished during last thursdays broncos game. 53yearold Paul Kitterman is pictured here with his stepson jared. At halftime, his first ever game at Sports Authority field. Jared told police he went to the bathroom and when he came back to his seat, his dad was gone. Ajared and his friends alerted authorities after the game and launched an all out search. So far, nothing. Nothing out of the ordinary happened. It wouldnt make any sense for him to go anyplace. Seemed happy, happy to be at the game. Got flyers, we have missing persons report and i just cant help but think something bads happened. Stadium and Denver Police have reviewed hours of Surveillance Video but there are no clues at this point. Kitterman lives on a ranch about 100 miles from denver. Family members say he only had about 50 on him and did not have his cell phone. For him to vanish they say is completely out of character. Coming up, the royal mistake made on the air in kansas city. Plus, giants pitcher jake peevey has a big game ahead of him tonight. But his son may have let his secret out of the bag. Im Spencer Christian from the east bay hills camera, we see bright sunny sky and there is more of that coming our way. The accuweather forecast is in just a moment. At 4 36, another live look at the afternoon commute. This is the san mateo bridge. Really backed up here on the lefthand side of your screen. This is oncoming traffic. Very slow going heading back into hayward. On the righthand side, folks heading from the east bay to the peninsula. Thats moving pretty well. Someone has some explaining to do. An ad from Dicks Sporting Goods aired during game five in kansas city congratulating the royals for winning the world series. What . I know. Telling k. C. Fans to head down to their stores to pick up their championship gear. Obviously a huge mistake. The series was tied two games apiece at the time it aired. Then the giants went on to win game five. Check out what happened. We kicked around some options on memoribilia possibly to take home to commemorate this if we can we are fortunate enough to make it happen. Trolley car. We got im going to i will get into that if and when this thing happens. I think we already picked out our hey, hey, hey, hey i like how he whispered it at first. Then he went full on. That was wyatt there. If you are wondering, a replica San Francisco cable car with wheels costs about 160,000. Jake peevey can afford it. He made 14. 5 million this season, due to make 15 million next year. I think they could buy a couple. You have the duck boat and the trolley car and you need the whole building just to house his world series memoribilia. Incredible. Spencer christian is checking our weather and whats ahead for us.
