abc7 news starts right now with live, breaking news. >> that breaking news is out of san jose where tonight police are searching for a molestation -- molestation suspect who escaped custody. >> police believe he broke into a home and changed clothes. >> here is the man they were looking for. 40-year-old john l carter. >> and here is where they have been looking around thorton way near valley medical center where carter used a doctor's appointment to get away. >> abc7 news reporter is live at an apartment complex where there has been a possible break in the case tonight. katie? >> ama and dan the newest information we have is from the san jose police department. they were called to the apartments around 6:30 on report of a burglary that someone came home and actually saw the burglar leaving their apartment, but waited about 15 minutes before calling police. by the time officers arrived the person was gone. there is evidence to support he is the escaped inmate and he changed clothes. it has been a long night for people in these neighborhoods and it is not over. police cars by the dozens and k-9 units on the ground and helicopters overhead. the areas near mcarthur and moore park are the focus of an intense manhunt. look at this man 40-year-old carter, african-american 5-11 and 220 and has the name "alice" tattooed on his neck. he has been in jail since last march charged with child molestation. he escaped the custody of a sheriff deputy during a routine exam at valley medical center. >> he should be considered dangerous. he is not armed to our knowledge. if the public does see him call 9-1-1 immediately. >> people who live in the area are on alert. >> we have a dog and she is a pittbull. nobody is coming near us. we are safe here. as far as the rest of the neighborhood, i'm sure everybody will have one eye open. >> it is interesting to see everything happen. it is in front of my house. >> the search you can see from sky heavy hd was called off before 6:00, but it reignited with the burglary at the sierra crest apartments. the shear riff's department is -- the sheriff's department is checking the phone records. >> we will go back and do the investigation work and see if it was a planned escape. >> two sheriff deputies were hurt, one suffering a shoulder injury and the other an injury to the arm during the pursuit. as for these neighborhoods, police tell me there are no evacuations in place and no road closures at this time. live in san jose, abc7 news. >> thank you for that update. tonight hey regard police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly tried to abduct a teen anal girl. it happened around 4:00 near sycamore avenue. she was walking home from school when a man in his 20s tried to pull her into his car. she fought him off and escaped. police are looking for a newer model four-door honda civic with paper plates. people at two libraries in berkeley last week may have been exposed to the measles. an adult who may have had the con contagious virus visited the west branch library and the central branch library on the 27th. now, the risk for exposure is not strong. however, anyone who visited the libraries on those dates should monitor themselves for symptoms for the next two weeks during the incubation period. symptoms include a fever and a rash. there were 132 measles cases across the state. >> there is outrage in the oakland unified school district over newly released video. it shows a 15-year-old freshman at fremont high school being dragged by two security guards. the district police chief showed us the incident from january 22nd of last year. the video just surfaced because the student's family asked the chief to pull it from the security file. >> i immediately became concerned of the actions of the school security officers and the use of force with the choking and the punching. my concern was thought only the actions of the school security officers but the actions of the adults that are in the administrative office just watching. >> the chief will call for more training. he is investigating the incident and has put security officers on paid leave. the student's family is considering a lawsuit. it is a clear night and warm weather is expected through the weekend and to top it off we get an exr hour of sunlight -- an extra hour of sunlight. with the rush to hit the beach emergency workers will be ready to roll. they saved a teenager that fell at land's end. alyssa harrington is live with that story. he is a lucky guy. >> extremely lucky. witnesses say when the boy fell he slid down the rocks on his stomach and that's how he was able to get away with cuts and bruises and maybe something worse. it has everyone excited to be outside and rescue workers want to remind people that certain trails and beaches can be treacherous. >> it is crazy. you usually don't get to come until like july. >> the crowd looked like what you may see in late spring or summer. prepared. hours ago they saved a teenager who tumbled down a cliff at landsend. he was taking pictures when he sliped and fell at least 200 feet. remarkably his injuries are not serious. >> he will be okay. unfortunately he was walking out and he had on flip-flops. he lost those. we were able to rescue him and walk him back up the cliff. i'm sure his feet will need a little soaking. >> firefighters say park trails are especially treacherous because of the drought. they are dry and there is little to hold on to. in san francisco, alyssa harrington, abc7 news. here is a live look from the -- picture from the san francisco chronicle shows the officer pulling his gun. today they say he acted in policy. his partner was being attacked by protesters, so he pulled his firearm. harrison ford is spending his second night in a los angeles hospital. as the doctors work to get him back on his feet experts are trying to figure out what went wrong causing ford to crash land his small plane. ted roland reports from ucla medical center. >> reporter: as they remove the wreckage of harrison ford's plane, the movie star was treated by a doctor who happened to be golfing when ford crash-landed on medical center say there were no complications. it started with one donor who wanted to give, but didn't have anyone to give to. a software program created by a san francisco man linked the donor with
