into the hospital. in redwood city, the driver of this van escaped with just a minor back injury. according to the fire department, it was just after noon when the car swerved off of northbound 101 north of holly street. new video tonight of the coast guard rescue above the pacific. tree female hikers got stranded this morning after the tide washed out the path south of eureka. the other hikers used duct tape to close up wounds. they were taken to a hospital for treatment. a san francisco police officer was injured today after crashing into another car. it happened just after 3:30 this afternoon at california and 12th avenue. the officer appear today be ed cell phone and ran a red light. police confirmed the officer ran red light but details are still under investigation. >> the two women were killed. they were heading to work at minetta-san jose international airport. now, to developing news out of kenya. a uc berkeley student is killed in kenya. three other americans were also injured. 39 people were killed and 150 injured in the attack today at the nirobi mall. abc news reporter chuck sooeferton has the latest. >> reporter: terrorists unleashed a braizen attack in a shopping mall. two canadian citizens died on the terrorist assault. several americans were injured. the gunmen stormed the upscale mall sunday afternoon. then the terrorists moved into the mall which was hostel a chirp children's day event. one witness described how they separated muslims and nonmuslim. >> shoppers hid under stairwells. >> emergency medical technicians tried to get to the wounded and dead. police and military units began surrounding the mall. some were injured. kenya's president tried to comfort the nation as the hours passed and the death toll mounted. >> i asked god to give
