good morning, everyone. thanks for joining us on this sunday, august 14th. i'm carolyn tyler. let's start with a quick look at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> good morning to you. we have the usual fog once again pinned down to the coast. the north bay with two mile visibility in santa rosa and that is an improvement and three miles at the shoreline and at sfo, 54 in the city, 59 in oakland. 63 in san jose and sunshine. temperatures today, a few degrees cooler here but fairfield up to 67 right now and 70 in livermore. so the next couple of hours the fog burns back and we'll have cloudy skies at the coast, cool there and upper 50s. the breeze kicks up in the afternoon with temperatures slightly cooler around the bay but still you notice those mid-90s inland. we're talking detail about that slight cooldown coming up. carolyn. >> thank you, lisa. breaking news out of the east bay this morning. police are investigating a double homicide in downtown oakland. it happened just before 1:00 this morning on 15th street. between harrison and webster street. police say the two people were shot to death. gunfire also hit a third person who has been taken to the hospital. that victim's condition is not known. breaking overnight in san leandro, a seven-car crash on interstate 880 near the highway 238 interchange has left one person dead. it happened last night around 11:30. the chp said someone lost control and hit the center divide and guard rail. the accident closed four lanes while crews worked to clear the debris. those lanes reopened around 4:20 this morning. officers have arrested one person on suspicion of dui. more breaking news now out of georgia where a suspect is on the loose. after fatally shooting a police officer. it happens around 6:30 last night our time in the city of eastman, south of atlanta. police say officer tim smith was responding to a call about a suspicious person when he encountered the suspect. got out of his patrol car and was then shot. officer smith was not wearing a body camera. now to developing news in milwaukee, wisconsin. some frightening scenes overnight. protesters setting fires and confronting police after officers shot an armed man they say was running away from a traffic stop. e e eva pilgrim has the details. >> reporter: overnight violence erupted in mill mill during a protest in respond to a deadly officer-involved shooting. >> this is the police. leave the area. >> reporter: officers out in full riot gear. people in panic and running for cover in the smoke-filled streets as the sound of gunshots ring out. >> the community, we are not going to protect ourselves, but if we don't have anyone to protect us, that is what you get. >> this police car destroyed. >> shots fired! >> reporter: this car up in flames. >> this is the whole gas station. >> reporter: and several buildings, including a gas station and auto parts store and bank are torched as hundreds of people flooded the streets on saturday night. >> if you love your son, if you love your daughter, get them home right now before more damage is done. >> reporter: racial tension boiling over as the crowd protesting the death of an armed man shot and killed that day. >> the man is a 23-year-old male from milwaukee with a lengthy arrest record and the gun at the scene we are recovering with stolen in a burglary with 500 hounds of ammunition. >> reporter: and the officer was chasing the suspect and ordering him to drop his weapon and when he did not comply, the officer fired several times, two bullets hitting the suspect in the chest and the arm killing him. >> no other way you could apprehend a person without having to shoot and kill them. i don't understand that, at all in the community. >> reporter: one officer is hospitalized after a brick was thrown through his window and striking him in the head. >> and that was eva pilgrim reporting. back here at home in hayward, police shot a man they say rammed several patrol cars, injuring two officers. >> i need units, code three -- we have an active shooting scene here. >> reporter: that was the call for help from hayward officers yesterday afternoon around 4:30, police say a stolen mercedes was spotted at an apartment complex at cheryl ann circle. when officers arrived they found two men inside of the car who would not get out. that is when investigators say the man behind the wheel put the car in drive. >> the vehicle was ramming multiple police vehicles, also hit another officer on foot. at that point, officers discharged their weapons, obviously in defense of their own lives. and that of others. >> the driver was hit by a bullet and was taken to the hospital where he is now in critical condition. the two officers did not require treatment. in the south bay, a firefighter was injured in a two alarm house fire in san jose last night just after 9:00 on gordy drive. crews had the flames under control. more than 3 hours later, these pictures from photograph craig rowe show firefighters at work. the residents were not there at the time. the flames spread to a home next door. >> we ended up having to put nobody inside of the first fire structure because it was too fully involved. it wasn't safe for us to send anybody inside. >> and you have fire coming out of every opening that the house had naturally and some that the house didn't have, that is fully involved. >> five people and three pets are displaced. no one was injured. the firefighter is recovering in the hospital. the cause of the fire is under investigation. the brother of an aaspire -- aspiring chef found dead at the westfield mall said he went to the mall to buy jeans and possibly see a movie. the new details were told to his brother by a woman gal issia was dating. he may have been leaving the mall to meet a coworker through a private stairwell where a maintenance worker found his body on wednesday morning. police are calling his death a homicide and have not made any arrests. police have increased efforts to find a gunman who killed a young man, calvin reilly, for playing pokemon go in san francisco one week ago on saturday when someone shot and killed him. abc 7 news reporter sergio quintana has the latest on the search for the shooter. >> reporter: his parents joined park police for canvassing effort and efforts passed out flyers to hope to further focus attention on the case. >> we are handing out flyers. >> i saw that on the news. >> reporter: reilly was shot to death while playing pokemon go with a friend here last saturday night. a small memorial is set up nearby in his honor. police have not released many details on this case. they had hoped surveillance video might give them includes about the shooter. now investigators are looking for any images shot here between 9:00 and 11:00 p.m. including selfies or scenic pictures that could be useful in their information. >> it would be critical if somebody captured something that leads to someone being arrest and we are interested in any material that could help us in this investigation. >> reporter: this is a popular place for people playing pokemon go on their smartphones. one sacramento resident shows me why so many people come here. >> so basically, there is a lot of points that people could put up their modules on these points and they attract pokemon. >> we know to coupme here. and they have different websites online and see where they spawn. >> reporter: joseph learned about calvin rile's murder on the online forums along with pokemon tips and people have been posting safety messages. investigators say they hope this canvassing effort will garner new clues and they want to remind people to be careful and be aware of surroundings. prk police hope someone will call their dedicated tip line at 465-461-5150. in san francisco, i'm sergio quintana, abc 7 news. a fire forced hundreds of people out of their homes near lower lake in lake county last night. it started around 6:00 near highway 9 south of the lake. homes in ellen springs and clayton creek have been evacuated. four homes were destroyed overnight. that fire has burned 1400 acres and 5% contained. later today highway 1 near big sur will be closed because of the soberanes fire. it burns 72,000 acres and destroyed 57 homes. the closure is at 2:00 this afternoon and could last up to 24 hours, depending on weather conditions. so lisa, let's talk a bit of weather. >> carolyn, it is still very hot and dry in our inland east bay. but certainly looking at more of a marine lair ayer and sea bree this afternoon. emeryville, highs in the 60s to low 70s. so nice around the bay. and we'll talk about the minor cooling in detail in just a minute. >> all right, lisa. also ahead, why south impaled his passenger. it hipped on skillman late outside of petaluma yesterday morning. the car went airborne and came down on a metal fence. they say the driver ran away, leaving a woman pinned in the front seat with a 20 foot section of the fence going right through the car and right through her. >> i saw the pipeline going through the front of the car, i had the worst expectation and it was exactly what i expected and without climbing in too far to see, you could see it was going through her mid section and she couldn't move. >> rescuers cut both ends of the fence and cut the car to get the woman out. she was conscious the whole time. a helicopter flew her to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. new details this morning on the 100 pound tree limb that fell and critically injured a mother at a san francisco park. she remains in critical condition after it hit her on the head friday. san francisco city inspectors will be out this week looking at all of the trees at washington square park. that is in north beach where it happened. yesterday mayor ed lee said work on trees is conducted regularly at that park. police are asking for the public's help to find a man and woman accused of abducting a child from dublin. police say krista jules and lamar spear abducted the child yesterday morning. officers say krista is the mother but does not have custody of her son. spear is the uncle. police say they left in a tan 1998 lincoln continental mark 5 with california license plate 4 nbl 417. residents in a west san jose neighborhood are fighting to keep verizon from building a cell tower near their homes. the city planning commission has already approved it but neighbors are still hopeful they could stop that project. abc 7 news reporter lisa has the story. >> reporter: there is no understanding how those in the regency park neighborhood feel about a proposed verizon cell phone tower. it was approached for the or chart shopping center nestled among the trees and camouflaged as a pine tree. >> and that was appropriate and it was a land use that was relevant to that community and work at that location. >> reporter: but many living on the other side of the tree line disagree. >> and leukemia and breast cancer. >> those are some of the things that elena is afraid the rf energy from the towers will cause and she is hoping to reverse the planning commission decision. >> it is extremely harmful to health of those living by within 500 feet. >> but commissioners insist the plan follows all fcc guidelines. >> there are new standards that have been set or new studies that have been done. >> reporter: they call the guidelines outdated and irresponsible but the director of the international performing arts center whose business has four towers on top of it and in the same center, support the commission's decision. >> they are the experts. so if it is not -- if it is not hazardous to the health, i don't think they will allow it. >> reporter: the city council will take the matter up on tuesday. in san jose, abc 7 news. civil rights groups are worried a new smartphone app to promote racial profiling in the east bay. it is called tip now ac transit and allow bu-- bus riders to report suspicious behavior. they tell our media partners at the bay area news group, a similar app for b.a.r.t. revealed users complain about black people, whether they are committing crimes or not. he he fears the same on a.c. transit. the a.c.l.u. is concerned about users' privacy. well today is the first preseason game for the 49ers at levi stadium but it is going to cost you more if you get there by the bta express lane. the price for a single game round trip ticket is going up from $8 to $20. fans could buy a new season pass for $149 which is valid for all ten 49ers home games. the limited stop express trains leave from the great mall, santa teresa and dear don and mountain view stations and a regular ticket to levi's cost $4. good weather for football right, lisa. >> it is getting warm in the stadium there in the 80s, carolyn. plenty of sunshine. but it should be cooler than yesterday. live doppler 7 hd and the reason why we have the cloud cover and the sea breeze, it will kick up throughout the afternoon. we'll show you one of the reasons why we think this is going to happen. it is an area of low pressure that is going to swing in and this will allow for some minor cooling today and tomorrow. but you know how dry it has been across the state. several fires being fought around the state. but in particular, up in the north here, we still have red flag warnings that have gone up today. mt. shatsta and in reno. and while we have the slightly cooler air and relative humidity recovery overnight, not the case elsewhere. so we will be looking at temperatures still above normal inland. but coming down a few degrees about here, oakland and emeryville. 54 in san francisco and 64 in san jose and upper 60s in morgan hill and so upper elevations are warm and high and high pressure pushing down on the atmosphere and creating visibility from the shoreline and bridges and here you could barely see the top of the transamerican pyramid. mid-60s toward concord. livermore still at 70 degrees. very cloudy here in santa cruz. but more 70s on the way and sunshine as well. so morning coastal low clouds and fog. a few degrees of cooling today and tomorrow on the order of about two to four degrees. the heat increases, though, as this system moves to the east of us and then that is when we'll see high pressure build in and perhaps some upper 90s return by wednesday and thursday, inland that is. and here we have the onshore flow and the fog tries to pull back but by the afternoon it is hugging the coast so we'll see the cloudy conditions there and temperatures just in the upper 50s but that bodes well for the air quality and where it was poor yesterday, it is getting better in our inland east bay and also the south central bay and santa clara valley. so we are looking at tomorrow similar to today with temperatures in the low 90s. look at the 70s around the bay. look at what happens on tuesday, though. we are in the mid-90s and upper 70s and by wednesday we have 80 in hayward and mid-70s in richmond and upper 90s in the east bay valley. so eheat coming back and in the live more valley, in the 90s today and then the increase mid-week and by the end of the week we're looking at extra moisture around here and bigger numbers. 77 in redwood city. look for upper 50s here on the coast and the sunset. in the north bay, temperatures from the low to mid-80s. son omma and novato and nice from berkeley and 79 there and castro valley. you head inland, low 90s for concord. 95 in brendwood. and if you are spending time over in the east bay, particularly here at the coliseum, looking at temperatures in the upper 60s for the a's. the accuweather seven-day forecast, a few degrees cooler today and tomorrow and then we bump it up around the bay but all in all looking and feeling like summer in the bay area. carolyn. >> you could say that again, lisa. thank you. coming up next, an unusual chase ruffles some feathers in santa clara county. ? rio, the most honored olympian has gone out on top. michael phelps helped power the u.s. team to a gold medal which he said will be his last. abc news reporter jim ryan has more. >> reporter: the end of an era. michael phelps cast his story olympic career with a final gold medal. the greatest swimmer helping the medley relay team surge to the win. this is his 23rd all time gold medal and 28 over all. most decorated olympian getting emotional as he said good-bye. and the women's american turning in a gold medal performance for the united states. and simone manuel was chasing another gold medal here in the 50 meter-free style, the so-called splash and dash. she came in second for the silver. she already won gold this week in the 100 meter-free style. in the men's 1500 meter freestyle connor jager got a silver. over at olympic stadium, gold for the world's fastest woman, jamaica'selain thompson rocketed across the line first claiming the gold medal. and bowie won silver. and in the final for the long jump, jeff henderson bounded to a gold medal. and more history in fencing. mohammed and the u.s. women's team battled to the bronze. she is the first american medallist to compete wearing a hijab. a big night for distance runners. mo farah defended his title. rio de janeiro. >> an emu with an attitude gave police reason to have fun on social media. department posted several pictures on media after they chased and caught up with theeema that escaped yesterday from a farm. if you thought catching this big bird would be easy. they could run up to 31 miles per hour. a group of swimmers braved cold water and powerful currents and the possibility of sharks in san francisco bay. abc 7 news was at san francisco's aquatic park yesterday when swimmers finished the 24th alcatraz shark fest. it poses many challenges for elite swimmers. next month shark fest oregon -- organizers will start at the south tower and finish at horseshoe cove in sausalito. that will be held on sunday, september 11th. much more ahead on abc 7 sunday morning news at 9:00. causing more controversy. what donald trump is asking his supporters to do on election camera, the marine layer has deepened and it is not going anywhere any time soon. we'll see cloudy skies at the coast and cool there. sunny in san jose at 65. mountain view 62. and half moon bay three mile visibility and san francisco cloudy and 64 and from mt. tam, breezy in sonoma and marin, 65 in petaluma. 67 in fairfield. you could see how warm in livermore at 70 degrees. so any breaks, well it looks like a couple of degrees cooler for you as the sea breeze kicks up, mainly for the coast and around the bay. 60s and 70s. but we should be in the low to mid-90s instead of the upper 90s today. and we'll talk about more heat when it arrives in a few minutes. carolyn. >> lisa, thank you. rescuers have saved more than 7,000 people from rapidly-rising floodwaters in louisiana. a storm system dumped the equivalent of three months of rain in one day on parts of the state. at least three people are dead. abc news reporter philip manna has the latest. >> reporter: overnight, massive flooding terrorizing louisiana. damaging homes, roads, vehicles. take a look at this dramatic rescue. >> get out. >> give me a knife. give me a knife. >> a woman and her dog pulled from this car the moment before it was completely submerged. >> i can't get out. >> oh, my god. >> communities coming together under devastating circumstances. >> not only are rescue teams rushing to help a neighbor, they are using their own boats to get people out to safety. >> reporter: as families are forced to evacuate homes and flee to safety, bringing with them only as much as they could carry. >> we woke up this morning and about a foot next to our door and we came back three hours later and it is about six feet high. >> you just started grabbing things and throwing them into trash bags. >> everything we could. >> and in many cases that meant their pets. >> i just saved this cat. he is scared to death. >> reporter: the louisiana national guard sending in helicopters to bring people to safety. over 1,000 rescues in livington parish alone. where torrential rainfall is 21 inches in 24 hours. three people are dead, including one man who was swept away from his home. philip mena, abc news, denim springs, louisiana. police in new york city have released a sketch this morning as they try to find a man who shot and killed the leader of a ba bangladeshi mosque and his assistant. that attack happened in broad daylight yesterday as the memn r were walking home from afternoon prayers. the gunman shot both in the back of the head. investigators have no evidence they were targeted because of their faith but members of the muslim community are worried. >> we feelin secure and unsafe in insecure and this is threatening our future and our mobility in the neighborhood and looking for justice. >> he and others are asking that the murders be investigated as a hate crime. they held a rally at the site of the shooting last night. this morning swiss police say a 34-year-old woman died from wounded suffered in yesterday's train attack no northern switzerland. police do not believe it is terrorism-related but they are not sure about the suspect's motive. investigators say the 27-year-old swiss man stabbed passengers and started a fire after pouring a flammable liquid on the woman. four others, including the suspect remain in critical condition and all seven were wounded, including a 6-year-old girl and a teenage girl. now to the race for the white house. this morning donald trump is saying he has a new opponent. abc news reporter mary bruce with the details. >> these people are so dishonest. >> reporter: this morning donald trump is revealing his true opponents. >> i'm not running against crooked hillary clinton. i'm running against the crooked media. >> reporter: trump blaming the press for outrage over his repeated claims that the president and clinton founded isis. >> donald trump said that he is the founder of isis. then they debated for two days. i think he is wrong. >> reporter: overnight in connecticut, trump promising a local cancer patient that he'll always tell him the truth while admitted to other voters. i like like to you like hillary clinton does but i'm never like to jack-o-mo, you hold me to it. >> his numbers plummet in must-win battlegrounds like florida and north carolina. he admits it is an unusual strategy. >> we're making a big move for the state of connecticut, just so you understand. >> reporter: mary bruce, abc news, los angeles. donald trump has agreed to three debates with hillary clinton and the first set for september 26th at hofstra university on long island. it will be followed by two more debates in october in st. louis and the last in las vegas. the actor who brought r 2-d 2 to live has passed away. kenny baker stood 3'8" and brought movement to the classic star wars character and he acted in dozens of movies and tv shows. his family said baker never expected to live past his teenage years and was happy in the days leading up to his death. kenny baker was 81 years old. still ahead on the abc 7 sunday morning news at 9:00, a robot's first day at work. it is happening right here in the bay area. and here and allow the sun to shine threw. lisa is along in 30 seconds with her accuweather forecast. the golden state warriors have unveiled a new refurbished basketball court for kids in san francisco. abc 7 news was at the willie brown middle school where warriors and executives an community ambassador donald foil helped kristen the court. they teamed up with several local groups to turn the existing basketball court into a spiffy place for kids to play. the team has helped refurbish 60 courts in the last two decades in various bay area neighborhoods. lisa and i like to play, but only if the weather is perfect. >> we like it cool, right, carolyn. good morning. here is a live look outside where you could see it is pretty foggy out in the distance. this is mt. tam. numbers well into the 80s yesterday and cooler and a stronger sea breeze for you but the rest of the bay area still very summer-like. i'll explain next. thank you, lisa. and also ahead, the rams take the field in l.a. and former cal star quarterback jared goff made his nfl debut. rick shows us why it wasn't one california's clean air laws we've cut toxic pollution. we're seeing fewing cases of asthma in kids. and the new clean energy economy has created more than half a million jobs. i'm tom steyer. just when we're making progress, the oil companies are trying to weaken our clean air laws. but we can stop them. beach morning there. you see it is cloudy. 59 degrees. later today, sunny, 75 degrees. and as someone said, a good day to stick your toes in the sand. let's check out sports now. it is going to be a busy day in the bay area. with three teams in action. the 49ers kick off their preseason at levi stadium against the houston texans. the game starts at 4:00 this afternoon. the a's close out their series against the mariners at oakland coliseum and the giants play the final inter league game of the season against the orioles at at&t park. first pitch for both, 1:05. last night the giants needed a win to stay one game ahead of the dodgers in the nl west. here is rick with all of the highlights in this morning's sports. >> good morning, giants thought bumgarner had not won a game since before the all-star break but that streak came to an end last night against baltimore. he was coming off a loss to the nationals. san francisco took the lead in the second. span with the two-out base hit making it 2-0. and then another two-run single in the sixth. bumgarner threw seven shutout inning and trum bow is tied for the american league in homers but goes down looking. bum had eight strikeouts. belt put icing on the cake in the seventh with a two-run homer to right and his 14th of the year. the giants go on to beat the 0's 6-2 and the dodgers won so they stay one game back. and before the contest, a statue honored gaylord perry was unveiled outside of the park. and he joins others in the teammates of his back in the 1960s. the hall of famer and two-time cy young award winner, harry played 22 seasons and ten with san francisco he was also known for throwing a spitball, a ball he doctored with gasoline. >> i was always accused of doing certain things to the baseball. and when i got traded to texas, i had to take a lie detector test. [ laughter ] i'll let you know, i passed that with flying colors. they say you can't lie to those things, but -- >> at the oakland coliseum it was star wars night. and graveman is deep for a two-run homer that it 4-1 seattle and the a's rally in the sixth and davis connected for a solo shot and his 29th home run of the season. great defensive play in the ninth. ryan healy with the foul pop down the right-field line and adam lynn will make the catch despite rub running -- running into the seats. he can't believe it. the mariners win 4-3. and jared goff made his nfl debut as the rams play host to dallas. more than 90,000 fans came out to the coliseum to welcome the team back. the game did not get off to the start they wanted. on the opening kickoff, the dallas lucky whitehead takes it all the way 101 yards for a touchdown and they build a 24-7 lead. goff had a shaking debut completing four of nine passes, here under pressure he has the second pass picked off. l.a. did come back behind former oregon state quarterback who three for three touchdowns and the last with minutes to late and 28-24 was the final and they open regular season against the 49ers september 12th and you could wanting to know about the weather in oakland, san francisco and santa clara. >> we have it all for you, carolyn. right now we are looking at temperatures around the boy, pretty comfortable. in fact, numbers are looking a little cooler than the average around hayward and mountain view. but over all, a nice day with the fog burning back to the coast. it will take a little bit of time, but by the afternoon, you could count on the low clouds and the fog sticking at the shoreline. so we are looking at visibility pretty diminished at the coast. but it trough is going to cool us off a little bit kicking up the sea breeze and that should bring from 2-4 degrees of cooli cooling. so a live look outside and you notice how gray it is out there. 59 in oakland. 65 in san jose. morgan hill, 70 degrees. so where it is warm, the hellive humidity has dropped. the winds are very light and mt. tam, you are breezy but temperatures are cooler this afternoon. 57 in petaluma. 67 by fairfield. that southwest wind picking up later on in the afternoon. 66 concord. livermore sitting at 70 degrees. and check it out, the golden gate bridge is shrouded in fog. so morning coastal low clouds and fog and cooler today and tomorrow and anywhere from 2 to 4 degree and increases mid-week and just temporary and in the inland east bay. yesterday was the 24th day we hit 100 degrees and cooling off there and 64 and hazy for monterey and down in los angeles, 87 degrees. tahoe 84. so if you are heading to the beaches, it is not sunny up here but in santa cruz, mid-70s and more sunshine. san jose, well not a whole lot of change through the week ahead. near average. the average is 82. today 84. yesterday was 88. so coming down a few degrees. and then notice very little change, a little bit warmer, had some tweets and messages about how nice it has been in san jose. so that pretty much continues. and then by the end of the workweek, we'll see cooler highs and could get clouds from the southwest and getting a little muggy. so as for today, looking for cool conditions here. seeing more fog along the coast. 64 in san francisco. 75 in san mateo. up 70s toward palo alto. 70 in oakland. low to mid-90s in concord and livermore. and yet at the arpd, we were in the upper 90s so getting just a little bit of cooling. napa, 92 and 94 in lake port and if you are spending time today in san francisco, perhaps another win for the giants, upper 50s to low 60s, getting sunny. very pleasant south wind up to about 15-20 miles per hour. the accuweather seven-day forecast, so upper 50s, limited sun at the on this. the last time we met pepper came to dance at the robot block party but it is the first real job in north america. >> he is telling customers about himself. >> i'm so glad to finally be here in the united states but did you know i was born in france. >> scooped up by soft bank. peppers worked in mobile phone stores and nissan showrooms and now learning american etiquette. >> in japan it would bow. that isn't as important here in the u.s. maybe a handshake will suffice. >> pepper is making an impression. >> it is life-like and moves human like. >> pepper isn't the first robot to be in a u.s. retail store but when it looks at you with those big, longing eyes, it is hard to deny the experience is different. this is more like talking to a concierge than a tin can. >> they have looked celebrating and paying tribute to here are the winning numbers from last night's $82 million powerball draw. 38, 44, 60, 64 and 69 and the powerball number is 6 and no one got all winning numbers so wednesday's jackpot grows to $94 million. and the winning numbers from the last night $25 million super lotto plus. well, okay, it was 6, 18, 39, 44, 47, and the meganumber 2. nobody picked all six in that draw either. wednesday's jackpot increases to $26 million. volunteers teamed up yesterday to feet hungry people on the peninsula and overseas. abc 7 news was at san mateo hillsdale high school where several groups packaged 45,000 meals. a private company called dream dinners and a nonprofit, the living the dream foundation, organized the event. >> helping children in san mateo count wy who are food insecure d those in haiti who are malnourished and starving to eat. >> 30,000 of those meals will go to haiti and the other 15,000 will feed families in san mateo county. happening today, 1,000 deadheads or more expected to celebrate the music of jerry garcia of the grateful dead. it is the 14th annual jerry day. a tribute to the famous band's founder. he grew up in san francisco's excelsior district. he died in 1995 but his music and spirit live on through this event. this is video from last year's jerry day. they'll also be a jerry garcia plaque unveiled on mission at harrington street. jerry day started back in 2002 to raise money to fix up a runned-down play ground. the musical tribute started at 11:30 this morning at mcclarion market. and pretty good weather,
