and when we can expect warmer temperatures coming up and the four weather first forecast in just a bit. the city of cedar rapids recently had their final press conference for the 2016 blood. connor morgan joins us live to explain the city's focus going forward. >> reporter: the city of cedar rapids is officially in cleanup mode. as far as sandbags are concerned, residents have three options. they can keep them which is encouraged for future tickets at them outside on the curb and wait for the city to pick them up or they can drop them off at one of these sites. noelridge park open this morning at 7 am for drop-off and ellis park will open starting tomorrow at 7 am. what about those who can't take your sandbags to either site? the city will collect those for free starting october 10. weeks. city officials recommend using your driveway if possible, giving of street between the curb and sandbags to allow storm runoff. as far as the press conference was concerned, everyone is echoing the same sentiments. the city and its people unite in times of divide. >> we always heard about being iowa nice. cedar rapids is certainly, iowa nice. but today and through this entire learning experience and this disas cedar rapids strong. >> reporter: the city is also trying to give as many people as possible opportunities to drop sandbags off. they are considering opening a third location which is rumored to be at kingston stadium. connor morgan, cbs2 news. if you are a business owner with sandbags there are the first site is at the former sixth street alliant energy plants between kicker oats and cargo. the other site is at the parking light of the new bohemia in new-bo. businesses in the czech village can bring those to the parking lot behind shots on 16th avenue southwest. the final location is in kingston village parking lot under i-380. we have full list with directions on our website, cbs2iowa.com. four days interstate 380 has been the only way in town to cross the cedar river but other bridges will start to except for the 16th avenue bridge are now open but on a restricted basis. today, residents and business owners are allowed to start moving back in. the downtown bridges will reopen to everyone tomorrow at 7 am. >> we will open our roads and open our bridges. clear off as much as we can. make it the community easy to get around. again, keep in mind, there has be careful driving round. there are workers and lots of act city and heavy equipment. exercise caution. >> if you're coming downtown to clean up our move back in, did not park on the street. parking rates are open at third and fourth avenues and the convention center is also open. visit it will resume is public transit system starting tomorrow. most i-380 ramps are now open remain closed both north and south exit leading drivers downtown are off limits. the northbound exit toward the czech village is also closed. a major road that is back up and now is edgewood road. the city reopened it thursday afternoon after crews were able to inspect the road and bridge. there are still some closures in place. we have list on our website, cbs2iowa.com. health experts want anyone working in the flood zone to keep a few things in mind news anyone exposed to floodwaters should conduct a self check. bacteria and fungus in the water can easily get into your body through open cuts or wounds. doctors say you should watch -- wash cuts while working and if you deep one, get it checked out. be aware of self-care when you are helping out and do not do something that could put you in danger. >> if you're immunocompromised you want to avoid -- it's not the best place for you to be working even if you want to help. find other ways to help. if you are a chemotherapy present -- patient, look to preparation or financially. >> the doctor said if you are working in a damp area be aware of mold. where there is moderate, mold grows and people have different responses to exposure. the red cross has worked around the clock to deliver aid to those in need and are still working hard today. stephanie johnson is live at the red cross with their efforts. >> reporter: the red cross helped people before the flood, i am standing next to carat and tammy. these ladies will tell me what they are doing to help people clean up after the floods. can you tell me about what you are doing? >> right now we still have people in our shelters at st. paul's united methodist and cedar hills community church we are working to help them get back to their homes. for us, up and down the river is about delivering enough supplies and making sure people are well fed and they are all that work which is extremely hard. >> reporter: it is. are you looking for people to donate or no? >> right now we are accepting monetary donations. that's the best way to donate to the american red cross. the easiest way is to go to red cross.org, call or text red cross 290999. >> reporter: we will put that link on our website later today. can you tell me about some of the monetary donations you have from a lot of our community partners and individuals. in fact in a few minutes we will receive a monetary donation from next era energy. they are doing there's our team will present that team. the monetary donations always help because we do have folks that will need cleanup kits. one of the things i wanted to mention is we have 150 people helping the er our volunteers and staff. we have a lot of people on the ground. >> reporter: that is amazing. it's great. you need more monetary donations. if they want to donate they can go to united way. as for cleanup, what have you seen most people need other than cleaning supplies? >> i think our folks who were driving around in the vehicles out, shovels and breaks. i think for the most part it is a lot of hard work for basements. it's not as terrifying as when you see the water go up to the roots of people's houses but there are still a lot of people across eastern iowa who need help in the coming days. >> reporter: last thing there's what do you want to say to the people of cedar rapids. >> we are so grateful for the support from across iowa. and cedar rapids -- this is my to see this committee pull together has been heartwarming. we feel blessed to be part of this community. >> reporter: anything you want to say?
