iowa city. we will have just a few showers through the night tonight. they will be pretty light in nature. by the commute we will still have the clouds and a few isolated showers i think it should be mostly dry across the area in the morning hours. we could start to see a few more showers develop by afternoon. it is going to be mild with temperatures climbing close to 50 degrees in the afternoon hours. once again we could see some additional showers by about 3:00 in the afternoon. we will start to dry out for good as the night goes on tomorrow. year. i will let you know when things start to now at i 80 near the coral ridg not a lot of traffic out of those roadways. one thing you can see is the lights reflecting off the roadway. it is a little bit wet outside. >> if you're going to be out driving late or you work in the middle of the night you want to take it slow. the heaviest of the rain is coming to an end. that is nice because it was pretty bad earlier with the wind and the cold and the rain. showers to come as we head through the next 24 hours in eastern iowa. the heaviest of the rain has shifted to the east of the mississippi and we have a few showers still lingering to the east of cedar rapids and north of iowa city, also impacting manchester and monticello. that will continue to move to the east and we will have fewer showers today with overnight tonight just the clouds. possibly a few isolated showers but otherwise, it should be pretty clear for the morning commut we will just have the clouds and possibly a little fog hitting in your way. otherwise, we will stay dry for the first half of the morning. by 9:00 we start to see a few more showers develop in eastern iowa and moved through. for the commute we will be pretty mild. we will be breezy out there. just clouds in the sky with temperatures that will rise 45 cedar rapids. 46 iowa city. we will have the clouds and the soggy mess and the wetness through monday. temperatures will stay mild through about tuesday and then we will go back to reality by wednesday in terms of the temperatures going back to normal values for this time of year. today because of the fog and the clouds, the rain and temperatures were kept a little bit cooler than saturday. now we have some warm air that is going to be moving in. it is already affecting parts of western iowa to see that warm air move in during the day tomorrow. for right now this area of low pressure is continuing to move through the area. that is going to generate a few more showers. the low pressure system will move north. the front is going to move through later on in the afternoon. by noon time a few more showers developing. the wind is very strong out of the south. moving the war marian. the front continues to move through throughout the day. however, typically we see wind because this area of low pressure will linger in the upper midwest wind stays out of the south and west to keep a smile through the day on monday and tuesday. it will send a some clouds back in and maybe a little bit of flurries in the northern half of the state why wednesday. otherwise, we are going to have some pretty calm weather once we get past this system. is dropping decent rainfall ou we have already had almost an inch of rain here at broadcast park. we could get closer to that inch market across eastern iowa come especially the eastern half talking about temperature trends in a bit. for now it is soggy out there. the heaviest rain has shifted to the east of the mississippi. we have a few lingering showers and is still some shower activity entering western iowa. that will move through overnight tonight. isolated showers through the overnight hours and into monday. this is associated with a storm system that will be meandering in the midwest over the next couple of days. the cold front associated with it will move through tomorrow. ahead of it we will have some warm air with temperatures mild. and then they will stay mild behind the front the wind will shift out of the north. they will stay out of the south and west because his area of low pressure is hanging out over here. days ahead of us and then a cool down over the next couple of days. to start off the day we will stay mild with temperatures typically in the low 20s in the mornings. we will be about 25 degrees above that in spots. 45 cedar rapids. 46 iowa city. there could be an isolated shower and possibly some fog. otherwise, it should be mostly dry. now looking beyond the seven afternoon's temperatures should be around 40 degrees. heading to the end of the periods, this is getting into december 11, temperatures go down to 33 for the average high temperatures, which is pretty cold. we have been enjoying a mild november and we will continue that trend above normal for the next three days. then we will dip below normal and we will likely have a periods in the beginning of december where temperatures stay just above the average mark. after that taking a turn toward some colder weather and the trends are pointing towards near average and evil below-average temperatures heading into the second week and the third week of december. this is also a periods where we will watch for some storms and possibly snow. this is far out into early for all the details but a cold trend is in the forecast between the seventh and 11th of december. high temperatures down in the term for right now. the next seven days in the forecast, 53 for the high tomorrow. a couple of showers scattered about the area with more sunshine on tuesday. temperatures staying mild for this time of year, close to 50. down closer to 40 by wednesday with some clouds. and then we dropped on thursday, friday and saturday with temperatures in the afternoon's remaining in when you look at where they were three weeks ago when a lost to penn state in a bad way and how they have turned it around are you surprised by how they were able to right the ship over the past three weeks? >> and not really surprised. this is quality football. what we're seeing is some quality coaching from the entire staff. this team is realistically rededicating themselves to doing what they need to do to win and give these seniors an opportunity to go out on a will be can they finish the job? if they can finish the job in the ballgame that will give them a really complete season. >> iowa has had some struggles in bowl games in the past. what do you. >> to see from them in terms of their bowl prep and how they play in a bowl game? >> what the going have to do as far as the ballgame is iowa city. we will have just a few showers through the night tonight. they will be pretty light in nature. by the commute we will still have the clouds and a few isolated showers i think it should be mostly dry across the area in the morning hours. we could start to see a few more showers develop by afternoon. it is going to be mild with temperatures climbing close to 50 degrees in the afternoon hours. once again we could see some additional showers by about 3:00 in the afternoon. we will start to dry out for good as the night goes on tomorrow. year. i will let you know when things start to cool down more in the full forecast in a bit. we are looking at the i 3 81st avenue. exit. this is your luck. roads are open but early yesterday morning a crash killed two people and dissent exit just now at i 80 near the coral ridg not a lot of traffic out of those roadways. one thing you can see is the lights reflecting off the roadway. it is a little bit wet outside. >> if you're going to be out driving late or you work in the middle of the night you want to take it slow. the heaviest of the rain is coming to an end. that is nice because it was pretty bad earlier with the wind and the cold and the rain. showers to come as we head through the next 24 hours in eastern iowa. the heaviest of the rain has shifted to the east of the mississippi and we have a few showers still lingering to the east of cedar rapids and north of iowa city, also impacting manchester and monticello. that will continue to move to the east and we will have fewer showers today with overnight tonight just the clouds. possibly a few isolated showers but otherwise, it should be pretty clear for the morning commut we will just have the clouds and possibly a little fog hitting in your way. otherwise, we will stay dry for the first half of the morning. by 9:00 we start to see a few more showers develop in eastern iowa and moved through. for the commute we will be pretty mild. we will be breezy out there. just clouds in the sky with temperatures that will rise 45 cedar rapids. 46 iowa city. we will have the clouds and the soggy mess and the wetness through monday. temperatures will stay mild through about tuesday and then we will go back to reality by wednesday in terms of the temperatures going back to normal values for this time of year. today because of the fog and the clouds, the rain and temperatures were kept a little bit cooler than saturday. now we have some warm air that is going to be moving in. it is already affecting parts of western iowa to see that warm air move in during the day tomorrow. for right now this area of low pressure is continuing to move through the area. that is going to generate a few more showers. the low pressure system will move north. the front is going to move through later on in the afternoon. by noon time a few more showers developing. the wind is very strong out of the south. moving the war marian. the front continues to move through throughout the day. however, typically we see wind because this area of low pressure will linger in the upper midwest wind stays out of the south and west to keep a smile through the day on monday and tuesday. it will send a some clouds back in and maybe a little bit of flurries in the northern half of the state why wednesday. otherwise, we are going to have some pretty calm weather once we get past this system. is dropping decent rainfall ou we have already had almost an inch of rain here at broadcast park. we could get closer to that inch market across eastern iowa come especially the eastern half of the area could see some of the higher amounts when this is all said and done by later on tomorrow afternoon and evening. luckily it is just liquid is not typical we haven't had any snow yet. average first inch of snow is around december 1. the latest was generally 31st. not unusual that it hasn't happened but we will likely see something soon in the near future, but not in the next seven days. first, tonight temperatures will be close to 40 degrees and we will start to rise during the morning hours and overnight tonight. we will be close to the 50 degree mark across eastern iowa during tomorrow afternoon. we have a chance for a couple of showers and then we stay mild, close to 50 on tuesday. clouds on wednesday and temperatures closer to normal for this time of year. things cool down even more with high temperatures in the 30s and check out the 33 on friday and a low of 23 friday night. we could even have a little bit of a mix on sunday afternoon. coming up next, the angeles. >> it could have an effect on your health, specifically your kidneys. new research says fragmented and short sleep leads to worse kidney functions. researchers studied patients with chronic kidney disease and it showed with every hour of extra sleep they got per night the risk of kidney failure dropped. research also shows that men are still living shorter than women. the team looked at birth and death records dating back to the 18 century. they found that men are living longer than before but they researchers are still trying to figure out exactly why. if you're saving up for retirement you may be doing it too conservatively. a new study found that six out of 10 americans are not saving enough to meet retirement needs. that city, people are focusing too much on losing money and are not thinking more about maximizing their growth. the report says younger people were less likely to take risks that people who are much closer to retirement. the des moines airport is thinking outside the box to avoid building and service dog bathroom that would cost them thousands of dollars. earlier this year airport officials announce the plan for a service animal relief area to comply with the updated federal rehabilitation act of 1973. it would make certain airports and so a relief area inside for service animals. the des moines registry reports airports will give the talking about temperature trends in a bit. for now it is soggy out there. the heaviest rain has shifted to the east of the mississippi. we have a few lingering showers and is still some shower activity entering western iowa. that will move through overnight tonight. isolated showers through the overnight hours and into monday. this is associated with a storm system that will be meandering in the midwest over the next couple of days. the cold front associated with it will move through tomorrow. ahead of it we will have some warm air with temperatures mild. and then they will stay mild behind the front the wind will shift out of the north. they will stay out of the south and west because his area of low pressure is hanging out over here. days ahead of us and then a cool down over the next couple of days. to start off the day we will stay mild with temperatures typically in the low 20s in the mornings. we will be about 25 degrees above that in spots. 45 cedar rapids. 46 iowa city. there could be an isolated shower and possibly some fog. otherwise, it should be mostly dry. now looking beyond the seven afternoon's temperatures should be around 40 degrees. heading to the end of the periods, this is getting into december 11, temperatures go down to 33 for the average high temperatures, which is pretty cold. we have been enjoying a mild november and we will continue that trend above normal for the next three days. then we will dip below normal and we will likely have a periods in the beginning of december where temperatures stay just above the average mark. after that taking a turn toward some colder weather and the trends are pointing towards near average and evil below-average temperatures heading into the second week and the third week of december. this is also a periods where we will watch for some storms and possibly snow. this is far out into early for all the details but a cold trend is in the forecast between the seventh and 11th of december. high temperatures down in the term for right now. the next seven days in the forecast, 53 for the high tomorrow. a couple of showers scattered about the area with more sunshine on tuesday. temperatures staying mild for this time of year, close to 50. down closer to 40 by wednesday with some clouds. and then we dropped on thursday, friday and saturday with temperatures in the afternoon's remaining in the 30s. 33 for the high on friday. low temperatures in the 20s. on sunday weak disturbance bringing a wintry mix to eastern iowa next weekend. chances are you don't spend a lot of time thinking about how seafood gets to your plate. who catches your food and where they finish is at the center of a global controversy. we had south to louisiana where the shrimp industry hasn't survived hurricane katrina and the bp oil spill. cheryl atkinson explained in this week's full measure. >> reporter: today we're going shrimping in venice louisiana. ac cooper is our guide. how important is a shrimping business to you personally? >> it's everything to me. my family does it. my dad is 80 years old and he still fishes. by two boys are in the business. >> reporter: the u.s. has become a massive importer of a resource we have right here at home. about 94% of the shrimp we eat co a fraction of the price as the ones caught at home. there's no getting around it. the u.s. shrimping industry is keep up our boats. we can't survive the way it's going. we can't keep up are both were deckhands. nobody wants to work because are not making any money. >> reporter: why does foreign shrimp cost so much less? other companies use cheaper methods band in the u.s. in thailand some farmers were caught using slave labor. videos appear to that does to injecting gelatin into shrimp to make it plumper. beyo h says it's hard not to think of shrimping as another american industry that could be lost to foreign competition. you see this as a reflection of anything else going on in the country? >> the farmers have been generation after generation, the steelworkers, we're going to be the same way. just like these guys. partnership.. a trade deal that , some claim could open the doors to unsafe particularly the last three games. everly set the pace for themselves. that's going to be the key for them to continue on the track they're going. it really boils down to realistically two things. there running attack and their defense. those are the key components that iowa has put together and found a way to get things done and have turned it around right the ship for them this season. >> when you look at where they were three weeks ago when a lost to penn state in a bad way and how they have turned it around are you surprised by how they were able to right the ship over the past three weeks? >> and not really surprised. this is quality football. what we're seeing is some quality coaching from the entire staff. this team is realistically rededicating themselves to doing what they need to do to win and give these seniors an opportunity to go out on a will be can they finish the job? if they can finish the job in the ballgame that will give them a really complete season. >> iowa has had some struggles in bowl games in the past. what do you. >> to see from them in terms of their bowl prep and how they play in a bowl game? >> what the going have to do as far as the ballgame is concerned, they have to take the next several weeks, depending on where they go, and begin to put -- prepare each week like it's game week. they cannot take time off whatever. this team is on a roll right now. they have the pace, they have the momentum and it's going to be critical for them to continue that same pace by staying on track and staying focused. >> let's check out what's going on in ames. a tough loss yesterday to west virginia. template in the season. >> absolutely. when we talk about iowa state, we talked about them all year, they haven't had an opportunity to finish games. this is a quality program. this team is on the rise. some very tough competitors in the big 12. this team is coming up and on the rise. what was on saturday was great defensive play. we also saw their special teams really take off and a lot of bright spots for this team. >> a lot could change in the off-season. what do you. >> from the next season going forward into you don't into your mac to of the mac campbell era? >> will see them get some of campbell's players in the mix as far as his what we will also see from the scene is an opportunity for them to sling the rock around. that's what they love to do. campbell is an offensive minded coach. is going to this offense off the ground. during the off-season they will need to focus on their defense. if they can get that fixed this is going to be a team to compete with the big 12. >> two quarterbacks. do you think that can work long- -- dynamic. these two men have very different styles. one is a runner and one is a passer. i would
