temperatures falling back into the 30's. elizabeth: getting to the big stores this money. a domestic fight led to the deaths up 42-year-old amy frra aaken and her 15-year-old daughter. >> this was not fair. this is not justified. this was not appropriate. this was just straight up ignorance. elizabeth: des moines police say 47-year-old barney fraaken shot them and try to shoot himself. his stepson greg lane told us it is not think his stepmother had been abusive to his mother in the past but was nervous when he bought several guns. fraaken is in police custody in the hospital where he is being treated for self-inflicted gunshot wounds. amy fraaken announce you wanted to leave her husband before he shot and killed her. police say domestic violence cases are one of their most frequent calls. one in four women will be impacted by domestic violence. more than 14,000 cases in des moines reported in 2013 alone. representatives from children and families of iowa say domestic violence has been declared a public health epidemic. >> it's the leading cause of injury to women in the united states. more than car accidents and rapes combine. elizabeth: children and families has a crisis hotline to help people dealing with domestic violence. that number is 243-6147. eric: charges are expected in a deadly des moines crash that happened monday morning just after 8:00 in the 600 block of 35th street. 22-year-old cascalicity angel perez died. the driver is still in mercy medical center this morning. the car actually split in half after hitting a high-voltage power pole. excessive speed and impairment are being investigated as intervening factors. the driver was charged with attempted murder four years ago. sprouse was walking to her car in a parking lot when she was spotted a man wearing a ski mask pointing a gun at her. anthony thorpe pointed what her. he got away with her wallet, cell phone and keys to her car. while officials plan to have extra off-duty officers over the weekend, especially this black friday weekend, they say the poll county jail -- thr -- thorpe in jail. elizabeth: five people have been shot near protest. reporter: protesters in minneapolis have been conducting a stit-in ever since the fatal shooting of jamar clark. none of the injuries are life-threatening. they are searching for three suspects. french president hollande will meet in washington with president obama. the fight against isis is high on the agenda. the white house is calling a u.s. allies to do more against the terror group. there has been a court appearance today by the only person in france facing potential terrorist charges linked to the paris attacks. he must be charged or released today. turkey says a russian warplane that straight into its airspace in syria has been shot down. this is after ignoring repeated warnings. the border. there has been no contact. back here at home, the state department's warning americans possible travel risks. this comes following increased around the world. elizabeth: a johnston boy who died 30 years ago will now be remembered on the big screen. brian knapp died suddenly in 1986 at the age of 14. the johnston native lost his vision to cancer when he was a baby. but that did not stop them from becoming a musical savant. in 1983, he got to sing onstage with johnny cash. knapp sang with cash many times. hollywood producers late in the afternoon. eric: paul rhoads is officially now out as iowa's head football coach. saturday he coaches his final game. rhoads took over a football game that was in a crater having lost 10 straight games. he took them to a bowl game. although thrhoads is a beloved coach he has not been winning enough games. rhoads thanked all of his players past and present. >> i trust i have made a small impact on you. because i promise you you've ma de a large impact on vicki and i. eric: isu athletic director jamie pollard spoke to the media yesterday p he believes the team has some of its most talented players in the locker room he has seen in the last 10 years. >> we have unbelievable potential. but unfortunately they do not keep score on the scoreboard for potential talent. they keep score on results. we just did not get the results we need to get. eric: pollard also said they did choose right when they hired rhoads. it is time for new leadership at he mentioned that no one game cost him his job. the search for the next head football coach is underway. elizabeth: the spotlight will be on espn tonight as they are set to reliefs -- release the next iowa is one of two undefeated teams in college football right now. the rankings will be released tonight. at 8:00 p.m. on espn. dowling catholic is celebrating a historic win after doing what no 4a football team has done, and winning three straight championships in a row. monday night's game against cedar rapids kennedy was scheduled to last friday but had to be rescheduled due to the snow storm. dowling took the early a warmer jacket. across the southern half of the state, you may not need a coat this afternoon. temps warming into the 40's by noon. headed for highs into the low 50's from des moines southward. over the holiday. this is due to a record number of flyers and increase security after recent terror attacks overseas. an estimated 25 million people will fly through the end of the months on u.s. airlines, which is up 3% from last year. at the same time, tsa's full-time staffing levels have decreased due to a shrieking budget. travelers should expect longer wait times as tsa spends more time inspecting luggage. a good rule of thumb is to arrive two hours before your take up time. an urgent plea for passengers to buckle up as aaa predicts 40 79 people will travel this holiday. a deadly trend of passengers in the back seat not wearing seatbelts. 883 rear seat passengers who were not wearing seatbelts died in crashes in 2013. half of them would likely have >> first, you've heard for seat belt use in the backseat. shaina: in 2014, a new york city taxi commission survey found that 62% of riders did not wear seat belts. one in five backseat passengers do not buckle up 87% of those in the front seat do. elizabeth: retailers are stocking up on merchandise they are expecting to fly off the shelves. at walmart, their black friday sales start thursday. last year's tablets were the must-have item. this year, action figures like darth vader are expected to be in homes before black friday shopping comes to a close. >> star wars is a bitg theme. we're going to see a lot of star wars toys. a lot of great deals on electronics. a lot of great deals on toys. elizabeth: this year will be the first year in american retailer will be using chip card readers. eric: the new technology has some concerned about his effect on holiday shopping. alyx, what is their big concern? alyx: the concern is that the chip cards could slow down the shopping experience resulting in frustrating shoppers and potentially less sales in stores. for one, chip cards take longer. instead of a quick swipe, it takes a few seconds longer to insert the card. then there is a chance for human error. if someone swipes the chip card, that could slow down the transaction. it calls for a cashier to be quick to notice and help coach the customer through it. patrick, a public relation managers forces them -- for ah shazaam, the chip card has added security. >> this is going to be a different experience. and it may not, it may go there he smoothly. i think if everyone anticipates before hand that there could be some changes, then thinks about it a little bit, that can help speed things up as we go through. alyx: coming up next, it was tough to find local retailers who are already using the chip card, but we did catch up with one local owner who will be using it on black friday to find out what she is expecting on the big shopping holiday weekend. eric: wall street kicked off the in negative territory yesterday. the dow dropped 31 points and the nasdaq lost two. in o ther economic headlines, ford has decided to stop using airbag inflator is made by takata. future vehicles were not include the faulty insulators. honda, toyota and nissan have announced their plans to stop usg those inflators. ford is also recalling more than 450,000 cars because of potential fuel leaks. that recall includes 2010 and 2011 ford fusion and mercury milnan models. there is a canister valve that may cause a crack in a fuel tank. there have been no accidents or fires related to that defect. and fiat-chrysler is taking there to reimbursement program a step further. they're also expanding it to include employees families. the program covers 100% of tuition and fees if you go to strayer university in virginia for their workers, their spouses and their children. part of an ongoing effort to attract and retain quality employees. elizabeth: most americans do not plan on getting into debt this according to a survey, nearly 40 % of respondents plan to use cash for holiday purchases. 31% intend to use a debit card. only 22% said they would use credit cards to buy holiday gifts. eric: i would hope you have a plan going into the holidays. it sounds like black friday weather, what is it going to be like? metinka: it is looking interesting. we are going to have a little bit of precip between now and the end of the week. some of it could be in the form of snow. tomorrow is going to be a big travel day. a gray day but overall, everything will be liquid with highs in the 50's. for thanksgiving day, some rain chances. could end up with an inch of rain before it switches over to a little light snow by late thanksgiving day. friday, all of the precip lose out. it is going to be a brisk day. you are going to need jackets. temps on friday only back in the 30's. 33 degrees in des moines. it is a little frosty, especially to the north. the coldest air settled along with a pick up the heavy snow band on friday. at least you have got mainly clear skies across the state. no new precip. no dense fog to slow you down. quiet weather will give way to an active weather pattern as we head towards the middle and end of the week. today will be quite to tomorrow will be gray. with overcast skies and drizzle from time to time. for thursday, by midnight, some light rain breaks out across central iowa. that will be expanded to 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning on thursday. in the afternoon, rain showers will be common across the southeastern half of the state. across northwest iowa, by noon on thursday, a few snowflakes may be flying. our rain will switch over to snow after 6:00 p.m. with light accumulation across northern iowa. really nothing major to worry about. 33 about people in new jersey cheering after 9/11. mr. trump: i saw the second plane come in. and i said, wow. that is unbelievable. and there were people that were very, very happy. nikole: ben carson initially backed trump up on those claims but now he is backing away with his campaign later saying that he was thinking of footage of people in the middle east instead. elizabeth: how is trump defending those claims? nikole: trump has been citing a 2001 washington post article that says law enforcement detained people that were seen as celebrating, but the washington post says it does not say in that article that thousands of people were celebrating. nor is there any video of proof. eric: we understand trump was the subject of more complaints by some of the other gop candidates. nikole: you might recall that earlier this mud, donald trump was on saturday night live. it was heavily promoted. that ruffled the feathers of several candidates, including james gilmore, mike huckabee, john kasich and lindsey graham whoh all complain that they gave trump and unfair advantage, especially in early voting states like iowa. now nbc is giving those for candidates 12 free minutes of airtime on affiliates in iowa. new hampshire and south carolina. they will be able to make their pitches to voters this coming friday and saturday. elizabeth: nikole killion live in minneapolis. shots rang out as people were protesting a deadly police shooting. new video is in from the scene now, five people were shot and injured late last night. it happened near the 4th precinct, which is where protestors have been gathering since jamar clark was shot and killed last week. police are now searching for three suspects. to ohio, police are trying to figure out why a man would break into his neighbor's home and shoot the family of four. the father, mother and a son were killed, a daughter is still police got a 911 call from the home saying there was an intruder. responding officers spotted the man leaving and after a short chase, discovered he lived across the street from the family. also right now, the u.s. army is investigating why a helicopter crashed, killing four crew members. it happened in fort hood, texas last night. the helicopter was a uh-60, similar to this one here. army officials say the crew was assigned to division west, first army and they were on a training mission at the time. and more new video. turkey says it shot down a russian warplane that strayed into its airspace during a mission in syria overnight. turkey says it gave repeated warnings, but they were ignored. the russian crew ejected, but no one's heard from them since. eric: also right now, as millions prepare to travel for thanksgiving, the u.s. is warning americans to stay vigilant. the terror threat is also front and center at the white house today, as don champion reports. don: french president francois hollande will sit down with president obama at the white house this morning in an effort to strengthen the coalition against isis. a french diplomatic official tells cbs news hollande will press for urgent action to combat what he views as an imminent threat from the terror group. concerns about terror groups like isis have u.s. officials stepping up security at airports. monday, the state department issued a worldwide travel alert, warning americans to "exercise caution during the holiday season." maura chambers: our family is like, no going to big venues or anything like that. be wary, be cautious of course. don: overseas, brussels remains on lockdown. authorities there are still searching for salah abdeslam, a key suspect in the nov. 13 attacks who got away. this morning in paris investigators are analyzing an explosive vest found by a street cleaner monday. police say the vest contained bolts, shrapnel and the same type of explosives used in the paris attacks. don champion, cbs news. eric: the explosive vest did not have a detonator. it was found in a pile of rubble close to where officials found a discarded cell phone used by one of the terror suspects. elizabeth: back here, more big stories. a des moines man is still in custody in the hospital, accused of killed hihiwife and daughter. >> he controlled her, and if he couldn't control it he either smothered it, or he just destroyed it. elizabeth: greg russell lane says his mother, 42-year-old amy fraaken, had just announced she was leaving her husband, barney fraaken. police say fraaken shot and killed amy and their 15-year-old daughter amber inside their home on hull avenue, and then tried to kill himself. greg lane says he had encouraged his mother to leave his stepfather for years. police also still investigating what led to another woman's death, 22-year-old scalicity angel perez who was killed in a high-speed crash. >> she was a wonderful, beautiful girl, good mama to her kids. elizabeth: police say perez was a passenger in this car. it hit a high-voltage power pole near 35th and ingersoll monday morning. neighbors say the car could have been going 100 miles per hour. the driver, 24-year-old troy mure junior was injured. and this morning, paul rhoads is preparing to coach his last game as head football coach of the iowa state cyclones. paul rhoads: i'm no quitter, i wouldn't have walked away. i wouldn't have walked away from the job, the opportunity to coach these young men one more time. elizabeth: rhoads spoke to reporters monday one day after he was fired. rhoads spent 7 seasons in ames, he's 3-8 this season. he will be on the sidelines this saturday as the clones play at west virginia. iowa state athletic director jamie pollard says he wished he could have kept rhoads, but the program wasn't going in the right direction. a search for a new coach is already underway. eric: there was a lot of melting that went on yesterday but it sounds like more today. metinka: a lot of snow piles will be gone in central iowa but to the north a will linger. 33 degrees, watch for slick spots on your sidewalk. that will melt away with sunshine and 51 degrees this afternoon. jolly holiday lights kicks off this future. he says iowa can't afford to keep up with all 114,000 miles of road and 25,000 bridges. he says as iowans' travel needs are changing, the state is shifting more towards the use of high are questions about how the st louis rams handled an injury to quarterback case keenum in sunday's game. shaina: keenum suffered a concussion when he fell backwards and his head slammed the turf. you can see he struggled to get up, even needing help, but he stayed in the game. the nfl has a concussion protocol now because of all the attention on brain injuries. late last night rams head coach jeff fisher admitted they didn't do enough to help keenum. elizabeth: also this morning, a california man is demanding an apology from american airlines. he says they tried to kick him off a plane because he's overweight. chris shelley: the worst part was being treated as if i was some sort of criminal. not only a criminal, but a fat criminal. elizabeth: chris shelley says he was seated and ready for his flight when an american employee told him to gather his things and deplane immediately. they said anyone over two inches beyond the seat cannot sit in the aircraft. he offered to switch seats with the woman next to him, he would have the aisle seat and therefore more room, and she agreed. he says he was humiliated. comes of that. eric: and would you believe people are already lining up around the country for those black friday bargains? >> this year, it's gonna be that 49 inch tv for $150. line at the best buy in riverside, california. he says he's shopping not only for himself, but he has orders for about 30 others. is going to be busy -- he's going to be busy. and he's not the only one, there are about a dozen people in line with him, camping out in tents and sleeping bags. they really want those steals. -- those deals. elizabeth: alyx sacks is joining us now this morning, and alyx, shoppers are going to notice a change this year with how they pay? alyx: they are definitely going to notice that. they will either be swiping for the first time they will notice it this year. it is supposed to add security on your card to protect from fraud but some local merchants are concerned the new technology could slow business down and frustrate customers. victoria veiock: when people come up, they're not really sure what to do. they try to swipe and you've been told to swipe really fast always and the chip reader when you put in your card you leave in there until it beeps and tells you to take it out. so everybody has to be retrained, including us. alyx: wicker in the works in valley junction, she says part of the confusion is not every store has the machine. so customers are not sure if they will have to swipe or insert. she has had it in her store for about a month. she says like all technology it takes getting used to and it's for our own good. black friday kicks off. she had the new on the head, it's almost a natural habit. inserting it will take greg lane told us it is not think his stepmother had been abusive to his mother in the past but was nervous when he bought several guns. fraaken is in police custody in the hospital where he is being treated for self-inflicted gunshot wounds. amy fraaken announce you wanted to leave her husband before he shot and killed her. police say domestic violence cases are one of their most frequent calls. one in four women will be impacted by domestic violence. more than 14,000 cases in des moines reported in 2013 alone. representatives from children and families of iowa say domestic violence has been declared a public health epidemic. >> it's the leading cause of injury to women in the united states. more than car accidents and rapes combine. elizabeth: children and families has a crisis hotline to help people dealing with domestic violence. that number is 243-6147. eric: charges are expected in a deadly des moines crash that happened monday morning just after 8:00 in the 600 block of 35th street. 22-year-old cascalicity angel perez died. the driver is still in mercy medical center this morning. the car actually split in half after hitting a high-voltage power pole. excessive speed and impairment are being investigated as intervening factors. the driver was charged with attempted murder four years ago. sprouse was walking to her car in a parking lot when she was spotted a man wearing a ski mask pointing a gun at her. anthony thorpe pointed what her. he got away with her wallet, cell phone and keys to her car. while officials plan to have extra off-duty officers over the weekend, especially this black friday weekend, they say the poll county jail -- thr -- thorpe in jail. elizabeth: five people have been shot near protest. reporter: protesters in minneapolis have been conducting a stit-in ever since the fatal shooting of jamar clark. none of the injuries are life-threatening. they are searching for three suspects. french president hollande will meet in washington with president obama. the fight against isis is high on the agenda. the white house is calling a u.s. allies to do more against the terror group. there has been a court appearance today by the only over the holiday. this is due to a record number of flyers and increase security after recent terror attacks overseas. an estimated 25 million people will fly through the end of the months on u.s. airlines, which is up 3% from last year. at the same time, tsa's full-time staffing levels have decreased due to a shrieking budget. travelers should expect longer wait times as tsa spends more time inspecting luggage. a good rule of thumb is to arrive two hours before your take up time. an urgent plea for passengers to buckle up as aaa predicts 40 79 people will travel this holiday. a deadly trend of passengers in the back seat not wearing seatbelts. 883 rear seat passengers who were not wearing seatbelts died in crashes in 2013. half of them would likely have >> first, you've heard for wars toys. a lot of great deals on electronics. a lot of great deals on toys. elizabeth: this year will be the first year in american retailer will be using chip card readers. eric: the new technology has some concerned about his effect on holiday shopping. alyx, what is their big concern? alyx: the concern is that the chip cards could slow down the shopping experience resulting in frustrating shoppers and potentially less sales in stores. for one, chip cards take longer. instead of a quick swipe, it takes a few seconds longer to insert the card. then there is a chance for human error. if someone swipes the chip card, that could slow down the transaction. it calls for a cashier to be quick to notice and help coach the customer through it. patrick, a public relation managers forces them -- for ah shazaam, the chip card has added security. >> this is going to be a different experience. and it may not, it may go there he smoothly. i think if everyone anticipates before hand that there could be some changes, then thinks about it a little bit, that can help speed things up as we go through. alyx: coming up next, it was tough to find local retailers who are already using the chip card, but we did catch up with one local owner who will be using it on black friday to find out what she is expecting on the big shopping holiday weekend. eric: wall street kicked off the in negative territory yesterday. the dow dropped 31 points and the nasdaq lost two. in o ther economic headlines, ford has decided to stop using airbag inflator is made by takata. future vehicles were not include the faulty insulators. honda, toyota and nissan have announced their plans to stop usg those inflators. ford is also recalling more than 450,000 cars because of potential fuel leaks. that recall includes 2010 and 2011 ford fusion and mercury milnan models. there is a canister valve that may cause a crack in a fuel tank. there have been no accidents or fires related to that defect. and fiat-chrysler is taking there to reimbursement program a step further. they're also expanding it to include employees families. the program covers 100% of tuition and fees if you go to strayer university in virginia for their workers, their spouses and their children. part of an ongoing effort to attract and retain quality employees. elizabeth: most americans do not plan on getting into debt this according to a survey, nearly 40 % of respondents plan to use cash for holiday purchases. 31% intend to use a debit card. only 22% said they would use credit cards to buy holiday gifts. eric: i would hope you have a plan going into the holidays. it sounds like black friday weather, what is it going to be like? metinka: it is looking interesting. we are going to have a little bit of precip between now and the end of the week. some of it could be in the form of snow. tomorrow is going to be a big travel day. a gray day but overall, everything will be liquid with highs in the 50's. for thanksgiving day, some rain chances. could end up with an inch of rain before it switches over to a little light snow by late thanksgiving day. friday, all of the precip lose out. it is going to be a brisk day. you are going to need jackets. temps on friday only back in the 30's. 33 degrees in des moines. it is a little frosty, especially to the north. the coldest air settled along with a pick up the heavy snow band on friday. at least you have got mainly clear skies across the state. no new precip. no dense fog to slow you down. quiet weather will give way to an active weather pattern as we head towards the middle and end of the week. today will be quite to tomorrow will be gray. with overcast skies and drizzle from time to time. for thursday, by midnight, some light rain breaks out across central iowa. that will be expanded to 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning on thursday. in the afternoon, rain showers will be common across the southeastern half of the state. across northwest iowa, by noon on thursday, a few snowflakes may be flying. our rain will switch over to snow after 6:00 p.m. with light accumulation across northern iowa. really nothing major to worry about. 33 defending those claims? nikole: trump has been citing a 2001 washington post article that says law enforcement detained people that were seen as celebrating, but the washington post says it does not say in that article that thousands of people were celebrating. nor is there any video of proof. eric: we understand trump was the subject of more complaints by some of the other gop candidates. nikole: you might recall that earlier this mud, donald trump was on saturday night live. it was heavily promoted. that ruffled the feathers of several candidates, including james gilmore, mike huckabee, john kasich and lindsey graham whoh all complain that they gave trump and unfair advantage, especially in early voting states like iowa. now nbc is giving those for candidates 12 free minutes of airtime on affiliates in iowa. new hampshire and south carolina. they will be able to make their pitches to voters this coming friday and saturday. elizabeth: nikole killion live in minneapolis. shots rang out as people were protesting a deadly police shooting. new video is in from the scene now, five people were shot and injured late last night. it happened near the 4th precinct, which is where protestors have been gathering since jamar clark was shot and killed last week. police are now searching for three suspects. to ohio, police are trying to figure out why a man would break into his neighbor's home and shoot the family of four. the father, mother and a son were killed, a daughter is still police got a 911 call from the home saying there was an intruder. responding officers spotted the man leaving and after a short chase, discovered he lived across the street from the family. also right now, the u.s. army is investigating why a helicopter crashed, killing four crew members. it happened in fort hood, texas last night. the helicopter was a uh-60, similar to this one here. army officials say the crew was assigned to division west, first army and they were on a training mission at the time. and more new video. turkey says it shot down a russian warplane that strayed into its airspace during a mission in syria overnight. turkey says it gave repeated warnings, but they were ignored. the russian crew ejected, but no one's heard from them since. eric: also right now, as millions prepare to travel for thanksgiving, the u.s. is warning americans to stay vigilant. the terror threat is also front and center at the white house today, as don champion reports. don: french president francois hollande will sit down with president obama at the white house this morning in an effort to strengthen the coalition against isis. a french diplomatic official tells cbs news hollande will press for urgent action to combat what he views as an imminent threat from the terror group. concerns about terror groups like isis have u.s. officials stepping up security at airports. monday, the state department issued a worldwide travel alert, warning americans to "exercise caution during the holiday season." maura chambers: our family is like, no going to big venues or anything like that. be wary, be cautious of course. don: overseas, brussels remains on lockdown. authorities there are still searching for salah abdeslam, a key suspect in the nov. 13 attacks who got away. this morning in paris investigators are analyzing an explosive vest found by a street cleaner monday. police say the vest contained bolts, shrapnel and the same type of explosives used in the paris attacks. don champion, cbs news. eric: the explosive vest did not have a detonator. it was found in a pile of rubble close to where officials found a discarded cell phone used by one of the terror suspects. elizabeth: back here, more big stories. a des moines man is still in custody in the hospital, accused of killed hihiwife and daughter. >> he controlled her, and if he couldn't control it he either smothered it, or he just destroyed it. elizabeth: greg russell lane says his mother, 42-year-old amy fraaken, had just announced she was leaving her husband, barney fraaken. police say fraaken shot and killed amy and their 15-year-old daughter amber inside their home on hull avenue, and then tried to kill himself. greg lane says he had encouraged his mother to leave his stepfather for years. police also still investigating what led to another woman's death, 22-year-old scalicity angel perez who was killed in a high-speed crash. >> she was a wonderful, beautiful girl, good mama to her kids. elizabeth: police say perez was a passenger in this car. it hit a high-voltage power pole near 35th and ingersoll monday morning. neighbors say the car could have been going 100 miles per hour. the driver, 24-year-old troy mure junior was injured. and this morning, paul rhoads is preparing to coach his last game as head football coach of the iowa state cyclones. paul rhoads: i'm no quitter, i wouldn't have walked away. i wouldn't have walked away from the job, the opportunity to coach these young men one more time. elizabeth: rhoads spoke to reporters monday one day after he was fired. rhoads spent 7 seasons in ames, he's 3-8 this season. he will be on the sidelines this saturday as the clones play at west virginia. iowa state athletic director jamie pollard says he wished he could have kept rhoads, but the program wasn't going in the right direction. a search for a new coach is already underway. eric: there was a lot of melting that went on yesterday but it sounds like more today. metinka: a lot of snow piles will be gone in are questions about how the st louis rams handled an injury to quarterback case keenum in sunday's game. shaina: keenum suffered a concussion when he fell backwards and his head slammed the turf. you can see he struggled to get up, even needing help, but he stayed in the game. the nfl has a concussion protocol now because of all the attention on brain injuries. late last night rams head coach jeff fisher admitted they didn't do enough to help keenum. elizabeth: also this morning, a california man is demanding an apology from american airlines. he says they tried to kick him off a plane because he's overweight. chris shelley: the worst part was being treated as if i was some sort of criminal. not only a criminal, but a fat criminal. elizabeth: chris shelley says he was seated and ready for his flight when an american employee told him to gather his things and deplane immediately. they said anyone over two inches beyond the seat cannot sit in the aircraft. he offered to switch seats with the woman next to him, he would have the aisle seat and therefore more room, and she agreed. he says he was humiliated. comes of that. eric: and would you believe people are already lining up around the country for those black friday bargains? >> this year, it's gonna be that 49 inch tv for $150. line at the best buy in riverside, california. he says he's shopping not only for himself, but he has concerned the new technology could slow business down and frustrate customers. victoria veiock: when people come up, they're not really sure what to do. they try to swipe and you've been told to swipe really fast always and the chip reader when you put in your card you leave in there until it beeps and tells you to take it out. so everybody has to be retrained, including us. alyx: wicker in the works in valley junction, she says part of the confusion is not every store has the machine. so customers are not sure if they will have to swipe or insert. she has had it in her store for about a
