" sgt. paul parizek, des moines police department: "right now, anything that's here that doesn't look like it belongs here is evidence. so, we've started a long process of identifying things that just seem out of place. we're just looking for anything that wasn't here before." police say they got a call from inside the home at 1413 pioneer road to check on 71-year-old norma jean mcneeley in the middle of the night. officers say a relative made the call after heaeang a cry out frfr mcneeley's wnstairs bedroom. sgt. paul parizek, des moines police department: "we can't discuss those details right now, but hedeath was violent." detectives found around 100 drops of blood in the area around the porch, and stretching down the street from mcneeley's home. police say mcneeley never left her house sunday morning and died inside of it as well. they spent the mornininand afternoon interviewing but say it'll take a little while to put everything together. sgt. paul parizek, des moines police department: "it's a large crime scene. evidence that we first saw at the home, we were able to follow quite a distance from the home. so, as they processed the scene, it took them to an area across the street." jacob peklo, reporting: "at this time police have not named any suspects in mcneeley's death, but they do say they have some solid leads. reporting in des moines, jacob peklo, local five news. we are iowa." lukas the polk county medical examiner is now assisting with the investigation. a strong alaska early sunday morning. the u-s geological survey says the epicenter of the seven-point-one magnitude quake was near cook inlet, southwest of anchorage. about 75 miles away in homer, alaska said the quake lasted about 30 secondsand -- quote -- "just kept g gting tweeted there of major damage or injury. the national weather service said there was no tsunami threat because the quake struck 50 miles earthquakes -- a magnitude four, and a three- point-two -- hit within 30 minutes after the first one. "how can i helplpou?"" local reredents also joined in. one family even delivered food to a group of teenagers on a bus headed to michigan. (lydia diehl, brought food to people on turnpike) " they've just been almost in tears, just feeling inside when people are happy because of what you did." even though everyone is safe, turnpike officials firefighter was shot an killed while responding to a medical call friday. according to the pulaski county sheriff's officece 29-year old ronald adada went to a home where someone was reportedly having a seizure... but when deputies arrived they found adams had been shot. adams was taken to a hospital in north little rock... where he eventually died. deputies say adams was a volunteer firefighter with the east pulaski county fire department and also worked full time for the sherwood fire department. the residents of the home are being questioned by investigators. "it's a tragic accident," said bernard o'rourke, boston police superintendent. "it's unclear what happened. the accident reconstruction team will determined speed, all those other types of things." boston police told newscenter 5 the plow driver was cooperative and no charges have been filed yet. multiple witnesses described to police what they saw, but investigators are still working to piece together exactly what ened. "sleep is important for so many things. ranging from good growth, helping your immune system, heart health, good behavior and the ability to focus and concentrate and learn well in school. not enough sleep may mean not susuressing the appetite and making you want to eat more, taking in more calories, as well as carbobydrates in general. and that can cause a whole host of health problems. "too much eating eventually along with obesity heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, so everything's interrelated, we want everything to be in balance and that includes your nutrition, your sleep and your exerse. and so we do recommend that kids get the right amount of sleep recommended for their age, at least an hour of exercise a day, and to eat a healthy diet. so how much sleep do children need? according to the cdc: newborns should be sleeping on average 16-18 hours a day. preschool aged kids, 11-12 hours. and school aged children should sleep about 10 hours a night. and doctors say one more thing -- make sure to monitor what your children are eating. no amount of sleep can battle the bulge if they're not getting a healthy diet. for today's health minute i'm holly firfer. "hi, this is cory booker. here for in sioux city and i might have a few people that would like to say hello." crowd chanting: "hillary, hillary, hillary" lukas: booker isn't the only one supporting clinton... the des moines register announced their dempcratic and republican party support this weekend. the des moines register named hillary clinton and marco rubio as their candidates of choice. the register says rubio has an uplifting message...and wants to hold a referendum on the nation's identity. for clinton, the paper says she's a thoughtful public servant who has respect from leaders around the world. and clinton is just as happy with the support. (reporter): "madam secretary, the des moines register just endorsed you, any reaction? (ashley broughman, emergency worker) "we're able to help on the side of the scared and they're able to talk to me get to work." in their two humvees, they've been transporting nurses and doctors work at hospitals, and even transported blood for the american red cross.
