a federal jury in tennessee is deliberating as we speak here. the case against a former college student accused of hacking into sarah palin's e-mail account. 22-year-old david kernell did not testify. his client made some, quote, stupid decisions but had no criminal attent. palin and her daughter bristol testified during this trial and said what kernell did invaded their privacy and disrupted their personal lives during the presidential campaign when she was the vice presidential candidate. kernell is charged with identity theft. he could be sentenced to up if to 50 years in prison. these just massive tornadoes that blew through mississippi over the weekend left three young boys without their mother. i don't know if you've heard this story yet. as a tornado approached yazoo, 30-year-old nicky bradshaw covered her boys with a mattress and laid on top of it to protect them. she was found dead but her sons were found alive. wh their mobile home was thrown 100 yards. the boys were flown to the mismedical center for treatment and are now being cared for by their grandparents. >> still no word from doctors on what caused bret michaels' brain hemorrhage. a spokesperson says more tests are planned now and michaels is still in icu under 24-hour surveillance. he went to the hospital thursday and a source close to the singer tells "people" magazine michaels had complained of a severe headache that felt like gettingit in the head by a baseball bat over and over again. can you imagine? doctors say the pain is excruciating when blood hits the very sensitive covering of the brain there. michaels is a top contender on donald trump's "celebrity apprentice" this season. >> none whatsoever. he was in great health. he is really an amazingly competitive guy. i feel a little guilty because i've been pretty rough on bret. i've been really going after him. now i'm going to be so nice. i'm going to see him ihope and say, bret, you are doing great. >> michaels has diabetes. he had an emergency appendectomy, too, earlier this month. we're following all the latest developments on his condition inside we'll give you more information as it comes in to us. meanwhile, tiger woods is back on the course. this week, he's playing in a tournament that's not as tightly controlled as the masters, where he made his return to golf earlier this month. but rafer wig cell at t er weigl hollow course. what is the anticipation there in terms of this tournament compares to the masters? >> this tournament is significant in terms of how the general public feels about tiger woods because more of the general public will be here. it's not quite as exclusive as the masters. there's more families. it's more middle class. there's more young children here. and that has a lot to do with the economics. now at the masters you needed to have 500 bucks to 1,000 bucks to get in or you had to have a badge handed down to you from generations or you had to know somebody. so we knew they were going to be reverent here. as far as how they receive him here, he's much more accessible. $40 if you bought a ticket last week on the internet will get cow in here to see tiger woods play on thursday. $140 will get you in all four days and $25 would get you in to see a practice round. so the probability of the fans being slightly more vocal is there. now we've spoken to people here. and no surprise. it's a bit surprising that the support seems almost as universal as the masters support. they appear to be embracing this man the same way they did at the masters. unfortunately, they'll not see him here today. an asheville newspaper reports tiger is at the golf course that he is designing in the high carolinas. not out here practicing like he did at the masters. so there were a lot of disappointed people here. it looks like the first time they'll get a chance to see him will be tomorrow when he tease off at 7:30 in the morning in a pro-am. that's when the golfers play with a couple of amateurs. he played with peyton manning last year. then at 12:10, the press conference where tiger woods will address the media. this will be a more open media session than the masters was. we might see more mainstream news outlets who may ask him questions about the family. the question will be, will he answer those questions? so that's going to be interesting to see as well. what kind of questions he fields in this more open environment. >> right. and i'm wondering, too, the masters, everybody -- or i should say a lot of people were hoping he was just going to walk away with that win. he did not. how pivotal is his performance in this tournament? >> i think it is pivotal. he was disappointed in his performance at the masters. did any of those personal issues affect your play out there? so now he comes here to this field and some may say the pressure is on him because if he does worse than at the masters, how is that going to affect the public's perception of him? it doesn't appear he feels the pressure. he practiced four times before playing. so far he's not been out here yet practicing but he does know the course. he's played it a few times. so we'll see. >> rafer, going to be talking to you all week. good to see you. >> thank you. well, people along the gulf coast are getting ready for disaster. thousands of gallons of fresh crude oil are pouring from that oil rig that exploded and sank last week. crews are using robotic subs hoping to shut off the well. it is so big you can see it from space. this is the captured image from nasa. crude oil covering an area about 48 miles long and 80 miles wide. you see it there in the gulf of mexico. this is larger than the state of rhode island. and all that oil could reach shores from louisiana to florida here in the next few days. a mixed martial artist is denying he assaulted his ex-porn star girlfriend. hear what tito ortiz says happened between him and jenna jameson. he explained how jellyfish stings can be neutralized with vinegar... l'aceto allevia il dolore.
