think the goal is simply we've had it with trump, we're going to do everything we can. we'll throw nails under his tires. >> well just a few weeks ago ted cruz was saying that john kasich should dropout of the race because he did not have a path to get the nomination. ted cruz is there. will ted cruz dropout of the race because he doesn't have a pathway. that's going to be one of the questions reporters will be hammering him with over the next several days. >> is there any issue of credibility if you have no mave. but do people lose credibility along the way? >> only if they say something that they then don't prove to even stand by.
for example, if ted cruz says you got to get out if you don't have a pathway. then you don't get out. then you lose credibility. if you say look i'm going full board. i know i won't get the nomination. at least not before the convention, but i'm going and i'm going to get it on the second, third down i'll blow the whole thing up and that's how i plan to get it. cruz has had this problem. early on he said he would win iowa and then south carolina all the sec states. he would lock it up. it didn't happen. he won iowa and lost every where. all those sec states. until he turned it around in texas, you know, it wasn't happening. he did not get the votes that he said he was going to get. >> have you endorsed or have you decided who you'll vote for? >> no. i've not endorsed. and, you know, i voted for me. i like me. i thought i was the best candidate. i'm sitting here talking to you
so that didn't work out. what's that? >> i think you'll have a chance to vote in the election in november. >> i'll absolutely vote for the republican. if ted cruz, john kasich, donald trump, doesn't matter. our nominee is going to get my support and my vote. because look i'm a republican. i pledged i would do that and i'll keep my word to that. >> any thoughts about donald trump saying it's disgusting the way governor kasich eat? >> let's face it, donald trump says a lot of thing because it amuses him and his audience. honestly i think trump would be better off if he would leave off stuff like that because if he's focusing on jobs and immigration and the things that brought him to the first place, i just think that's the message that people really are connecting to and really nobody cares whether john kasich eats a pancake in one bite and the truth is if you're a candidate and i've been one
for many years over the past 25 years, you go to a lot of places and people hand you food and they want you to try it and eat it. and, yeah, you do some disgusting things along the way. i don't think that hurts kasich at all. i don't think it helps trump at all to talk about his culinary habits. >> i think in all fairness to everybody involved we did a lot of talking that kasich use ad fork while eating pizza. we're as guilty about that discussion. thank you very much, governor. now we go outside the pennsylvania arena where trump is about to take the stage. and that big day tomorrow is when voters across the key stone state hit the polls and 71 gop delegates will be the grand prize. what are voters saying? >> reporter: well, greta, inside donald trump making his third
and final appeal to pennsylvania voters here in wilkes-barre, pennsylvania, in the northeast part of the state. it hold 7,500 to 10,000 folks. be interesting to see whether he gets on that famous cruz. outside we were talking to supporters. you can see them now still going in. it sold out. the folks here certainly not impressed by the cruz-kasich alliance. there's not much protest. there's about half a dozen, i count about six protesters here and we begin the day, actually, before we were at this event, greta down on main street in this small blue collar town. here's what voters had to say. take a look. >> i'm going to vote for donald trump. i'm a hard core republican and i really believe in what he has to say. i think now is our chance. make america great again. get out and vote. >> did you hear this news about cruz and kasich forming an
alliance to stop trump. what do you think of that? >> it leads me to believe that there's even more reason for me to vote for mr. trump. >> i think it's almost criminal. >> i love bernie sanders. he's great. he seems like a really honest guy. but at the same time trump seems like he is a businessman. we never had a businessman do anything before. . >> i'm voting for bernie sanders because i love everything about him. >> two young women. does a first female president matter at all to you? >> no, it doesn't. it's nice but far more important that i feel more like. >> i feel with hillary same thing with obama. so i want something different. >> i think trump will make it. who's with me? come on. >> he says it like it is and he's not afraid to stop up for america and he doesn't care because he doesn't have to answer to anybody except the american people.
>> so, just moments away from the final speech from donald trump. mr. trump will go back to trump tower where he'll watch the results coming in. so what about the body block those two candidates are hoping for or will trump roll over those two men? our political panel is here. do you know how this deal came about, who brought it up first? >> something that's been brought up for a while by the kasich team. there was talk between both campaigns when they were in florida for the rnc spring meeting. cruz seemed more open to the idea partly because of the numbers in indiana which is a must-win for ted cruz realizing he needed to do everything hed picture. >> is it possible this will
work? >> this is like one of those celebrity marriages you know that will not end well. there's so many problems with this. so many thing have to go right for the strategy to work. first both candidates have to keep their word. then you're talking about tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of people say okay i won't vote for the guy i want i'll vote for another guy to block a third guy to prevent from becoming president. we're late in the whole process. i don't think this is the kind of thing that moves the needle. >> the food fight today literally over the way governor kasich eats, now we do have a food fight that's about food. what in the world is going on there? >> it was one of those moments -- it was interesting because trump and kasich have been relatively nice to each other. trump doesn't reference kasich that often, doesn't have a nickname for him. >> does now.
>> the number changed throughout the day. >> which reflected apparently the fact that kasich won one state and didn't win others. >> it's a side show. does hit our point. kasich did look kind of goofy eating in front of everybody. >> this is the new donald trump. this is the more presidential donald trump. trump is the first one to say there are two donald trumps. there's the trump let trump be crowd. let's reign him in and be more presidential. he was fired up in the wake of this deal. he goes back to the form that got him here, right. that's what people pay to see or not pay to see they go to these events. they are drawn to the message. >> why are you voting for trump. because he's going to make america great again. >> that's what the hat says. >> his branding is resonating with them. they don't say what that is. what's he going to do to make us great? >> well, i think that allows
people to pour whatever they think that is in donald trump's candidacy. there's not a lot of policy meat here on the bones for donald trump but there's hope from people who are frustrated. >> that's the same thing from senator ted cruz. he says he's for the constitution. what does that mean? i can't really blame the candidates, they are down to slogans. they have slogans and don't communicate much. >> there's an old saying you campaign in poetry and govern in prose. this is not a poetic year. the slogans are what catches on. even this idea of the teamwork to block is a fascinating piece of strategy behind-the-scenes, but the fact is we're going into unprecedented cycle all the way throughout the convention. >> the viewers bringing you in on this alliance, this is your chance to vote on twitter. do you think cruz-kasich anti-trump alliance will help those two or back fire? use the word help or back

point is we've shown a commitment, we're doing the right things by training those who can fight back but what we really need to be doing is engaging the egyptians, saudis, jordanians and i don't see that happening and it's not happening because of their fear of iran. >> why now? so many times the president said he wasn't going to do it. what's the catalyst now? >> we're in serious trouble over there. isis is controlling less territory in places like iraq. they are actually threatening a large part of the rest of the world. they now have bases, safe-havens in places like libya and we men and the only country that's not been attacked in the middle east, the only country that has not been attacked by isis is iran. think about this. so what isis presents is the very strong reality they will make a diplomatic overture to be recognized by the united nations. the effort he made in europe is great but the saudis won't sign

like iowa. i won iowa but i got two votes at the convention. why? in the delegate selection process ron paul went in and threw that delegate selection, stole my vote. even though i won the state. so they changed the rule to say that on the first ballot you have to vote for whoever won your state. so i would make the argument that if trump was playing under the rules four years ago he would be ticked off. this time around he has some protection. >> if trump wins statewide that guarantees 71 delegates up for grabs but only get 17 statewide, 54 up for grabs. how does that work. >> each congressional district elects three. three times 18 is 54 so we have people running without any affiliation as to who they are for. so the campaigns have to run a grassroots campaign for everybody who supports them running for delegate in their

over the weekend i flew to ecuador to put the spotlight on this humanitarian crisis. ♪ if you've ever been to any place that has been hit by an earthquake, you see the you wanter destruction. the scene is all too familiar. one minute all these people's lives are fine, ordinary, and the next minute the earth does the unthinkable, shakes these areas. shakes it so badly homes are destroyed, lives are lost. >> the floor was shaking and things started to fall down like light poles. the land was opening. it was coming up. the land was coming up. >> there are over 500 deaths here in ecuador from this earthquake and it's been hit by terrible after shocks. you can see just by looking at
some of the devastation behind me. look at the buildings. look at the destruction here. it's absolutely horrifying. people's lives turned upside down. the odor here, the stench is horrible. there's no way of us knowing whether people got safely out of these buildings or not because we go block by block and see these lives turned totally upside down. you can see inside their houses. you can see bricks. you can see keyboards. you can see buildings collapsed. and to the extent that any of these buildings have survived is that they may look like some of them survived but they have huge cracks in the wall. we don't know if they will fall. we don't get close to these buildings because we don't know if parts will fall off. look at the size. >> one of the big problems here is there's no water. and so they are delivering water in these trucks and different cars. when a water truck shows up everybody ran down to queue up.
they got guards with machine guns. people will fight for water. >> look at the size of the line for not much water. >> this line developed in less than a minute. >> this line is the line on the other side. >> greta, when you think of the city, you take water for granted and these people, the water pipes are broken. so the water is turned off. and they are standing in line just for a bottle of water. they won't get gallons of water they will just get a bottle of water. >> not everybody will get water. there's not enough water for these people. >> not nearly enough. i don't know what they will do. this is something we want to do is to be involved in water distribution like this. it's an easy thing to do. we can get trucks and haul water. that's something we'll do. >> just the basics need to get here fast. that's the other thing. how many days out from this earthquake and they need the basics. they need water. >> they have to have water.
