an illness often deadly and eerateicated in the country. how hundreds of infants may have been exposed in the latest outbreak. it is all "happening now". let's get to our top story on this monday. a warning to the world from isis as they call on followers to kill civilians in any country that joins the fight against them. i am jon scott. >> new word out of iraq. u.s. ground forces are training kurdish fighters. this is it a co part of president obama's strategy to kill isis. >> and in syria it is a full- blown exodus. 165,000 syrians have superdome turkey in the last four days. >> john, the latest video from isis is not as bloody and gruesome. but they are calling on supporters to attack and kill civilians in the west. the leader urges followers to kill disbelievers in america and canada and slit their throats with a knife. he goes on to say that isis will break crosses and enslave the women of the west and said president obama is making the same mistake as former president bush in the middle east. of courses the u.s. and france continue to fight the isis positions in iraq. it is wrecking havoc. hundred thousand syrians are fleeing a major offensive operation by isis. the group is on the move in syria and iraq. the united nation said it is the largest exodus ever by syrians in the civil war. despite the international coalition to destroy the group, the group is resilient and strong. and the french and americans continues to attack isis, they are not showing signs of being defeated. it is clear more will have to be done and more countries in the middle east will have to get on board and fight the isis militancy. it is not something that united states and france can do alone with air strikes, jon. conner, thank you. nwalid ferris joins us with thoughts including a rebel take over in yemen. the gop may have an edge in the battle to control congress. the latest new york times model shoes a 56 percent chance of winning the senate and democrats say porpercent. but there are governor races with implications. there are 12 states that could see a party switch at the top this november. we'll bring in bob cusack. n36 governor races up this time around, bob. and there could be surprises out there? >> definitely surprises. and governor's races are different than the senate. illinois, governor quin, democrat in trouble. connecticut as well. democrats are in trouble. but they could win kansas. a red state. sam brownback struggling there and that could have an affect on the senate race. there is a surprising senate race in kansas as well. and another one to watch is florida. governor rick scott going against charlie crist. now he is a democrat and was independent and used to be republican. the races in the top of the tickets could impact house races as well as the senate races. that will be a develop am to watch. >> why is that? one doesn't think statewide governor's race will have an affect on national races for the house and the september. >> illinois is a key example. there are competitive house races and certainly if you are from the blue state and you are a republican, you have a target on your back. and because governor quinstruggled in the ratings, that helps the republican party. conversely in like states like kansas that could affect the september races. >> there is no doubt about it. there is a difference between the governors and house. and if a governor is struggling they are their own candidate and a lot of red state democrats are not appearing with president obama, these candidates are not showing up with their governor if he is unpopular. >> i was astounded in colorado, showed the governor, eight points behind his republican challenger, that has not been born out in other polls. but that is a reputable organization. >> and the governor there talking about maybe presidential aspirerations and maybe vp. and he has to worry about november as well. and mark udoll going against corey gardener. that is a close race and that could determine whether the senate flips. >> and speaking of whether the senate flips, dick durbin is in trouble in illinois in terms of the polls. they have tightened up there? >> i think durbin will make it. but when you have durbin and other blue state democrats like al franken worried about their race that is a problem for democrats. republicans will pick up senate seats. is it a tsunami. if al frankin and dick durbin are sweating on election night, it is it a tsunami. >> we'll talk to rob port man about this. good to talk to you. >> it is now day eight in the hunt for a guy who ambushed troopers in pennsylvania. the governor said he is confident that the man will be found. the governor expressing gratitude and concern for all of the officers out there scouring the wooded terrain to find a man they say has a grudge against the police. rick leaventhal. tell us where the manhunt is now. >> reporter: we are seeing a lot of activity a couple of miles. just up the hill is a mobile police command post and we see swat teams coming in and out of there and seeing helicopters overhead. and two state police and one fbi and that reads heat signatures on the ground and could isolate his position. they have contained him in a half mile long and eighth mile wide and there are thousands of local and state police in the woods including fbi swat teams and a tf and u.s. marshals. they are proceeding carefully. today the pennsylvania governor revealed despite warnings to the public. they believe he is only gunning for uniformed officers. >> he had an opportunity to shoot the civilians at the same time he shot the police officer. and so it is our conclusion that he's aimed totally at police officers. there were unarmed civilians in the same situation. during the course of the shooting, he chose not to shoot them. >> we are hearing for law enforcement that lethal forces identified and refuses to surrender. >> he may be contained to a half mile area. you are hearing more police activity and how is that changed in the past few hours? >> a tremendous amount of activity. and hard to saw how much has changed. we are getting from a lot of sources that we could be close to a resolution. helicopters are buzzing overhead. it is a difficult time for the local folks. they are staying there with us. >> i can't imagine how nervous people must be about that man. rick, check back with us with the information that is happening now. >> reporter: absolutely. right now united nation secretary general moon set to open up the u.n. meetings in new york city one day before the general assembly and one day before the climate summit. protestors are marching cross the state. today john kerry compared the situation to terrorism. >> when you think of terrorism, which we think about a lot today, poverty which is linked obviously to the levels of terrorism that we see in the world today. and of course, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. all of these are challenges that don't know any borders and that's what climate change is. >> protestors are in cities around the world. 300,000 hit the streets in new york city yesterday. >> a frantic search for a missing student. and the charges against the man who is a person of interest in the case. >> do republicans have a plan to get thing done? >> i am sure the police chief is doing the better with the resources. but one of the problems i see. when the chief came out and look, jesse matthews was the last person who was with her, based on what? >> they did search his car and home over the weekend. >> he hasn't released that. and the issue is this, we have to be careful as law enforcement officers what we say. and in speaking to other people in the country about this. there is a sense that jesse matthews is the guy that did this, and in fact there is no evidence that points in that direction. >> part of the concern in this is if he leads police on one single path, they could turn a blind out. >> the other issue is tunnel vision. focused on jesse matthews and they have the guy and probably have enough evidence to nail him and it could be problematic with regard to investigating the case. >> he was the last person known or last person with him. he put his arm around her and that has to mean something. >> suspicion is not guilt. we don't know if he was the last person. >> we know they were together. we have seen it on tape and police need and want to talk to him. they searched his car and house. >> within a week you will get the evidence to proceed with this and proceed in pursuing him. >> they are hunting for him right now. and what about the other cases? we talked about numerous missing women in that state. we have a map of all of the young women who are missing and we apparently don't have it ready. 4 or 12 who have died or gone missing. >> startling. what they do, is open up the cases and see if they are all interconnected. you are talking about the physical characteristics and ages and where they are from and who did they associate with and where did they go as far as socializing and all of these cases should be looked at again. >> is this common for a state like virginia or any other state of that size? >> it is a good question. it is common and you will get people murdered and missing and what is uncommon. by the prelimary review is ages and times and dates. >> they are also missing from 2009 up to now. >> you hope we don't have a serial killer on our hands. >> we can't rule anything out. nyou're welcome. >> and business alert for you. u.s. stocks falling a bit with the dow fresh off of an all- time high. and ali baba declined today. what that means for us. and so why is the market tumbling now? >> the dow and nasdaq and s&p 500 all are down in the red after a dip in existing home sales. and that is injecting worry in the market and home builder stocks down more than two percent today. and the chinese economy is slowing down and over the weekend in a g- 20 meeting, more stimulus measures in china are unlikely. and that doesn't help since they are concerned with slowing growth. and we are getting a china number. and that is due out tomorrow and investors are apprehensive on that, jon. >> and the internet giant went public in one of the biggest ipo's ever. how is it doing? >> it is done four percent right now. this is officially the largest ipo in history after executives and investors solid more shares over the weekend. there was a 38 percent shares on friday. and shares are down four percent. this drop was widely expected and they were reassessing the company and it is a complicated structure with the government influence and they are a big company and revenue is huge. and they are bigger than amazon and ebay combined and heavily influenced by the government. and why should they be worried or not up. and i listen to them sx=ñcarefu and if you want to help the society, you have to work with the government. not only chinese but every government. >> and this is the biggest ipo ever. and the founder, and he also tells the government what he wants and he said it is a two- way relationship. julia, thank you. and a lot of concerns about the security on the southern border. and the white house dealing with its own security breach. a knife weilding man and getting past the executive mansion. and fast- moving wildfires moving fast. n a ribbon to show how many years that amount might last. i was trying to, like, pull it a little further. >> reporter: john, just as crews in oregon mopped up one fire in oregon another one began. 600 firefighters fighting the blaze that turned lush trees in charred trees and issue. fall- temperatures there feel like summer and forcing many it evacuate before the conditions evacuate. >> we are evacuating and it is scary and frustrating. it is so many people that are helping each other. light rain and cooler temperatures this weekend, helped the firefighters slow the king fire near lake tahoe and only after it burned 130 square miles. 6,000 firefighters from florida to alaska on the scene and the fire is 20 percent contained and the cause of the king fire is determined to be arson. and it is a low fire week. they had a lot of the assets and helicopters and slow the fires down. but conditions are supposed to get warm in the sierras this week and so that could be an issue. >> thank you. >> and we'll go overseas to talk about another major issue. a ceasefire deal is reached in yemen. rebels taking over much of the capitol city, our next guest said it is it a blow to a middle east ally and saudi arabia and could be a boon for terrorist. we have a analyst and author of the lost spring. how does this going on in yemen affect us? >> it will strategically affect us. the rebels are against the mostly sunni government are trained and organized and funded not only by iran and hesbollah. >> you mentioned an organization that is unfamiliar to many folks around here. that is a shia group that took on the government of yemen, correct? >> basically they are in the north, and they are battling the government for five years and not known much worldwide. but the pro iranian militia crumbled the government and that is our partner or our ally. this will cause problem first for the saudis, yemen has a border and the red sea where we have interest. >> they took over the defense ministry and finance ministry and all of that. this is significant. but yemen is considered a failed state by the united states. how does this strengthen the hand of iran? >> iowa ran had a lot of problems with saudi arabia and countries in the gulf and iraq and syria. now iran will have an influence in yemen. that puts pressure on saudi arabia and near mecca. that means they have influence in the zone of the red sea. both by the suez canle. >> and affect the movement of oil and gas. how could isis emerge stronger as a result. >> al-qaeda is strong in yemen. and the more they expand in yemen. al-qaeda will say i am your situation. i see it will be over the sunni area of yemen. they are concerned about a pro iranian military. that is what happen in lebanon and iraq. >> it is hard to wrap your heads around. another country is coming in to play. turkey had a hand in creating the problem. so many jihaddist flew through turkey and in to syria and helping out isis. and turkey helped to create the problem and can we get turkey to help solve the problem? >> we should put pressure on the government in turkey. 2011 and 2012 and many jihaddist went through turkey into syria and in to iraq. those jihaddist split off in syria and joined isis. turkey needs to shut down the borders and not allow them to come through. >> and if my memory served me, did the united states not help turkey become a nato member? ray kelly joins me for an exclusive interview. and leon panetta said if president obama had listened to him we would have armed syrian troops and not pulled out of iraq. -- >> well, signs much of life. hundreds gathered for a special ceremony to honor 43 people who died when a wall of mud and debris over took the town. the major road through that area rebuilt and back open since march. the slide began and ended in mere moments and nearly burying the entire community. only nine people caught in it survived. >> frightening tuberculosis news for the families of 700 infants in a hospital in el paso, texas. those children may have been exposed to the deadly bacteria by an employee with that illness. they are working to try to determine which infants and employees may have been exposed to tuberculosis. the bacteria can go dormant for years and then grow and cause an active case of. that we'll talk to erin. oh, boy, 700 children potentially exposed and could be dangerous. how did this happen? >> health care providers have strict protocols in place. every year i get a tb skin test to see if i contracted the disease and what happened in this case, the particular health care worker had the the screening and then contracted tuberculosis and potentially infected infants and maybe even their mothers. >> how was it detected. my child got his tb immuniation. >> we don't get vaccinated for tb. it is only 20 percent effective. but the problem with the vaccine, it causes a false- positive skin test. so in the case for infants, we would not know who is exposed and who hasn't because they would all test positive. >> that's not necessarily so. my son had it and they did the skin test and as i understand they do this in communities with immigrants coming in and overseas travel they are concerned about tuberculosis. it came as a big surprise to someone working in a sensitive department could have the disease and infect young children who have no immunization. >> in high risk areas we do vaccinate. and the issue may bring it to the forefront. and maybe there will be a change because of something like this. >> we covered this last week, there are exemptions in a let of states where medical workers and schools for that matter they object to getting it, they don't have to get. it it could put people at risk whether the elderly or young children. >> thank you for joining us today. >> thank you. >> and what happens to your digital data when you die? >> it is the first fatal bear attack ever recorded in new jersey. yesterday afternoon, five friends from edison were hiking in a nature preserve in north jersey when a black bear began to follow them. the five ran off in different directions, four later found each other but could not find 22-year-old darsh patel, they called police, a search was launched and about two hours later, patel was found dead, the evidence indicating he was killed by a bear. >> you encounter a bear in nature, you must remain calm. do not run. you want to make sure the bear has an escape route. you want to avoid direct eye contact with the bear. back up slowly, speak with a low, assertive voice, don't panic. >> also says don't feed bears, since this makes them associate humans with food. the preserve is in passaic county just 40 miles from new york city it's a 576-acre wooded area with more than five miles of trails, popular for hiking, bird watching, cycling, horseback riding and fishing. john? >> this is so strange. not a female, no cubs involved, any of that? >> no, they are going to be test the bear to see whether or not it was rabid or whether there was anything else that might have provoked this. >> weird story. all right, thanks very much, patti ann browne. we do hear so much in the northeast, new jersey in particular about bears people's backyards. wow, unbelievable. this has become a bigger question now in the digital area -- era, who has the rights to someone's e-mail accounts and also their social media sites when they die? family members have often had to fight the so-called -- for the so-called digital remains of a loved one and now, there's a new law in one state that may start a trend nationwide, but some are calling it an invasion of privacy. david lee miller is here with more, the sign of the times really. >> indeed, heather. this is really a conflict between the law and technology. the law not keeping up with technology. the question here is a very simple one, should e-mails or online photos be treated any differently from hard copy letters or pictures left behind after we all go to that great pie cloud in the sky?
