correspondent jeff paul in rochester, minnesota. >> it was a trump rally like we've never seen before. the chairs were set up 6 feet apart, only about 250 people allowed inside of the rochester international airport. i was all due in part to a back and forth between state and local officials and the trump campaign here in minnesota. the trump campaign said that they were expecting some 25,000 people in attendance, but have to scale that back due to the state's restriction, due to the coronavirus. officials minnesota say they never canceled this event or any event for the this trump originally was kicking around the idea of holding a watch party in his hotels in washington, d.c. it sounds like he just might keep it at the white house. we want to thank you very much. the president has his sights set on turning minnesota writer. biden wants to flip it back to blue, and progressives have a wish list for a biden. jacqui heinrich is checking it out, live for milwaukee. hey jackie. >> good evening. four days out from the election, joe biden made his first three state stop in a single day of the general election. with bowls tightening, there is work to do and little time left. wednesday, democrats reportedly sounded the alarm for week turnout in black and young voters in florida's biggest county. producing turnout rates lower than 2016. then in thursday, biden's lead slept three points in a poll that had him head by 11 earlier this month. it now trump surrogates are storming the states, following the president's trip yesterday which included a meeting with attacks on fake news, president trump engages with the press virtually every day. joe biden keeps a much lower profile and is faced no pressure from the media to change that approach. >> shannon: thank you, sir. as joe biden battles to satisfy the environmental demands, fossil fuels like oil continue to be the bedrock of many states economies. kevin corke is out taking a closer look at this. by force tonight from ohio, good evening, kevin. >> no surprise that energy is a major political and policy issue here in the upper midwest. what may surprise a lot of people is its impact on the 20/20 race. >> it's is that old as the country itself. the urban rural political divi divide. policy ideas seem to flourish on coastal highways and byways often struggle to connect with main street and to the rest of america. in 2020, that's particularly so when it comes to energy policy, a gap that the biden campaign has struggled to bridge. case end point, his message refinement over the past several months. >> are not shutting down oilfields, i'm not eliminating fracking. >> would there be any place for fossil fuels, including coal and fracking and the biden administration? >> no. we would work it out. we would make sure it's eliminated. >> whether it's a lack of candor and clarity, concerns about energy policies are growing in ohio. >> we are draining several hundred acres from these particular three wellheads. >> to energy providers, fracking and energy extraction powers this region with jobs and energy independence. go we want government to let us do what we do best, we do environmental progress and having access to clean, reliable, portable energy. we are absolutely a part of the future. >> he confirmed his plan to embellisabolish the entire u.s.y industry. >> in eastern ohio, we are trading domestic energy and doing it safely. there is hope. regardless of the outcome of next week's election, the boom that rescued a region will continue. it the trump administration's aggressive rejection and regulation policies frankly are very popular in the energy sector. a dream of a fossil fuel free future is still attractive to some. >> shannon: kevin corke the hottest issues this election cycle, which is quite lacking. reporting tonight from portland, maine. >> new england's last republican in congress, susan collins is fighting to hold ground burning at her feet. six years ago she soared to victory was 68% of the votes. now, collins challenger, sarah gedeon, holds a narrow three-point lead in the latest poll, a statistical dead heat. the two women start over health care and potential proposals to expand the u.s. supreme court. >> any proposal to change the supreme court i will evaluate through this lens. does it help restore an independent judiciary? as i see the proposals come forward, i just see an argument between democrats and republicans that doesn't get it there. >> i will give you straightforward answer not beat around the bush, the answer is, i do not support increasing the size of the supreme court. as ruth bader ginsburg says, nine is a good number. >> collins was only went to vote against the nomination of amy coney support in the run-up to election day. one member said, too late. >> suburban women have turned their backs on donald trump. i know we are supposed to be wary of the polls, but when you look at what has happened, the way he speaks to them, you showed an addict earlier that said we are going to get your husbands back to work, while i'm out of work too, is what women are saying. >> shannon: it's let's discuss where things stand among that crucial voting advisor how do you answer that strategists who said this is a lost cause, that the president is not going to do well with this group and it's his own fault? >> the lincoln project obviously one of our biggest fans, look, i will always turn back to 2016 and the polling there, because everyone in 2016 continued to say women would not come out and support donald trump. we actually started a women's coalition, we called it women for charm, we have a bright pink bus traveling across the country because we continue to hear that narrative, and it was always women coming up to me excited to vote for donald trump. now, that is our biggest coalition by far of any. at the reality is, i think women are very smart, and they didn't fall for the trick of 2016 of oh, there's a woman running for president, shouldn't you vote for her? they knew they wanted a person who got the job done, very clearly, they've seen the results of president donald trump, he's been able to get the job done whether you're talking about the economy, record low unemployment number, a 65 year low, and so many other factors that matter so much more to women than what you just heard from that lady there. >> shannon: i went to play a suburban woman for you who was on with martha maccallum last night. she had a group of women talking about who they voted for and why. this is katie morris. >> i voted for trump in 2016 looking for a fresh start, i don't think that's what we got it all. i think we got someone who has completely torn our country apart. if you ask me if i'm better off, i'm not. >> shannon: she's a michigan voter, what would be your message to katie who doesn't like the president's tone, feels like we are in a very divided place right now, she's not planning on voting for him aga again. >> would love to get her boat back, i'm sorry to hear things aren't working out for her, but i think the vast majority of americans would tell you that under donald trump, their lives got better. whether you're talking about the incredible tax cuts that not only helped average families all across this country, but small businesses. i talked to a small business owner who said recently, i would've had to close my restaurant down had it not been for those tax cuts. running out of pandemic, the situation we found ourselves and in 2020, we want to know that we have a person in the white house who can get us back to normal, who understands the economy, who understands how to bring jobs back. don't forget, is joe biden and barack obama who sent all of our manufacturing jobs overseas. you'd have to get a magic wand to get us back. donald trump brought those jobs back, he is the one person between these two men who has actually rebuilt our economy in record time. he is going to do it again, and i think people want to know we can get back to those great economic ties, that our kids can get safely back to school. at the president has been saying we need to reopen our country, we need to get people back to work and kids back to school. we want to michigan is still on the list for another visit, at least one more we know it for the president. if for a mask mandate last week. it this isn't a political statement like those ugly folks over there beeping the horns. >> shannon: we listen to this a number of times, we don't know if it was ugly folks, but it wasn't complementary. if there's a lot there. i want to start with that part of what he said about trump supporter's. >> shannon: we've heard him call us chumps, all kinds of different names, hillary clinton calls us all deplorable is, a basket of deplorable's. nothing new for trump supporter's, but you sort of feel sorry for joe biden. his got his car rallies and meet ups or whatever he calls i'm going on, i'm sure he was probably annoyed by those folks, but they are exercising their first amendment right. >> shannon: can you tell us anything about the election night, we know the president has talked about the fact that you have the beautiful trump hotel in washington, d.c. because of covid restrictions, there may be limits on having a larger party, do you know where you're going to end up on election night? >> i don't. we would all love to be together as a team and celebrate as a team. i can tell you we have all worked so hard over these past years, but obviously in the past several months. i think that will be the first day i see my husband and over a week because we are ships passing in the night coming home to get close and go back on the campaign. we the polls, with the majority of the people who just want a return to normalcy. >> the problem with that is, it's a lie. we are never going to go back. if you get selective, we will have the most divisive nature in washington. because joe biden is campaigning as a moderate bipartisan uniter, but his party is in no mood for compromise, and they have made very clear that if he is elected, they will use their power to get rid of the filibuster in the senate, which means they will eliminate the ability of the republican minority in the senate if we lose the senate, to block or delay legislations. that means they are not going to have to compromise at all. if they can pass anything they want. they will be able to pass anything signed by joe biden. health care, taxes, immigration, you name the issue, climate, they are going to be able to pass anything they want. they will be able to pack the courts, add justices to undo trumps judicial appointments, which is incredibly divisive, and they are going to pack the senate. give themselves for more democratic senate seat so when the backlash comes, it's very hard for republicans to take back power. i don't see how a biden presidency -- especially, he won't say he is he's adding rid of the filibuster. it's going to divide us even more so. they are more intent on exercising rob howard to push their radical agenda >>
