killing him at point blank range. people running for their lives. ahmed one arm has emerged as the master mind. the death toll now at 44. and this is a awful story. a 13-year-old american girl living in israel stabbed to death in her bed. a 17-year-old palestinian man broke into her home in the west bank. he was later killed by security guards. hundreds of people attended her funeral. pictures of her mother are just heartbreaking. she was seen sobbing over her daughter. and developing overnight, an accident on the set of a tv show in downtown l.a. two workers injured, one in critical condition. after 3500 pounds of equipment comes crashing down on them. the set was for "good girls

keep her meeting secret. >> he was running late. she sat on the tarmac. in a private plane, that's why they like the private plane, they don't have to wait. they get on their plane and they're in the air immediately. for her to sit there on the tarmac says to me she was waiting. she knew he was coming. she waited and waited and waited. >> i think he got on her plane. >> this undermines our confidence in the rule of law which is one of the most important things we have. not just republicans but democrats. chris coombs said she slud steered clear of this meeting. should not have done it. mark hannah said people really don't care about these private meetings. it's the 4th of july weekend.
people don't care. listen. >> i think people have kind of a comical and -- understanding of how involved she is in this. this investigation is being led by career investigators that have -- many of them are probably republican. they don't see the world like you and i, bill, through a political lens. with a high profile investigation like this, you better be sure if loretta lynch doesn't take the investigation -- >> they have everything. >> it gives fire but american people from a political standpoint don't care. they care about the bank accounts, national security. >> they care about it. >> they don't. >> they do. they care about who's running for president and their government being honest. >> he says americans don't care. we care about working hard. we care about our paychecks. we care about putting our kids

about the foundation. it might not surprise you. i think americans do care, i think it's par for the course. the e-mail scandal, benghazi, now this. this is the latest poll that says does the description fit the candidate? look at hillary clinton's trustworthiness. only 30% feel that she is trustworthy. i wonder what do the other 70%? 70% don't feel she's trustworthy. >> if you compare those numbers to the question of who are you going to vote for, an awful lot of people who believe hillary clinton is dishonest are voting for her anyway. >> how is that? >> you'd have to ask them. this is pretty remarkable. including this, are you proud of your country today. now 50%. >> half of america. >> just a few short years ago, 69%. that's plummeted. >> i wonder why if you have the country's leaders constantly telling the population this country is embarrassing.

turning south of the board jrde. they're offering mexican students less than half the discount. francisco hernandez, thank you for joining us this morning. >> thank you. >> if i wanted to send one of my four kids to this state university i will pay twice the amount a mexican citizen will pay. this university is subsidized by american taxpayers. why is this fair? >> it's not that it's unfair. airlines do it all the time with a first class seat whenever they're going to fly empty, they'll sell them for half price. if you have empty school seats if the college doesn't have high enrollment, then what's the down side? free money for the university. >> not free money for the university. the university is subsidized by taxpayers to the tune of $60,000 per degree granted. >> except for out of state
tuition. >> why not offer the same discount to my children? i'm paying in part for that $60,000 subsidy. why would you give preference to somebody who is not from this country? >> there's nothing wrong with that. cut the price. that's the first class concept of airlines. >> that's not what's happening. >> you don't have to go to that university. >> but i do have to pay for the university as a u.s. taxpayer and i am paying for it and so are you. >> if an airline said we're only giving discounted seats to people from mexico and if it was american airlines presumably there would be an outcry. do you see the point? it's a simple point. >> not if they fill the seats in mexico to come up to the united states. it's not unfair and it's out of state tuition. it is not subsidizing, it's the out of state tuition pays more than its share. usually a hugely
disproportionate share. >> the college is subsidized by u.s. taxpayers. regardless of who goes there. >> correct. >> every student gets about -- the university for every student gets 60 grand a year. they are giving discounts to people from another country, a country that has not paid anything into the university. that is insane and it's discriminatory against american citizens. what is the justification for that? >> well, it's not discriminatory because -- >> they're giving discounts. >> we don't have to go there if we don't like it. it's that simple but out of state tuition pays for the subsidy for the in state students. >> okay. >> we've got to make that differentiation. we're clouding it that it's getting the subsidies from the united states. >> just to be clear, out of state tuition is over $10,000 for american citizens who have been paying for the university for many years and it's less than $4,000, about $3300 for mexican citizens? why not give the same price to

the debate has been renewed about whether the security perimeter should be pushed back further in the wake of what happened in istanbul and brussels because those terror attacks happened outside of the security checkpoints. critics say that's simply pushing out the target. terrorists will just have a new target and a new place, that will be in the parking lots or where the cars would be cuing up. i want to mention that the anxiety for some people has been growing here in the wake of those attacks. the port authority said they had already stepped up their counter terrorism efforts after orlando terror attacks. they had their high visibilities patrols, tactical gear and tactical weapons just in case something may happen. the tsa has said they're deploying what they call viper teams at airport across the country, that includes explosives experts and air marshals. here's homeland security security jey johnson. >> we encourage the public to

>> the helmet will keep everything intact. maria molina will have the forecast. >> good morning. tracking several areas of thunderstorms across the nation and we want to kick it off starting off with what we're expecting today because across portions of the northeast, mid-atlantic and even in the central plains you could be seeing some storms that could bring some isolated severe weather. that will be a concern. not too much of a concern in terms of severe weather across the southwestern u.s. today. you could be seeing some storms. that's something else to keep an eye on. as we head into tomorrow, severe storms could continue to be possible especially across portions of the central plains. because we're expecting several rounds of wet weather out there across places like kansas and missouri, 4 to 6 inches of rainfall, the concern for flash flooding will be in place. let's skip ahead to the forecast that everyone wants to know, which is what it's going to look like out there on 4th of july. many areas are expecting hot temperatures in the southern plains. you're talking triple digit heat

we are glad to have you here on our plaza today. >> i am so excited to be here this morning because we've got the 4th of july coming up and i know everybody loves to celebrate the way all-americans love to celebrate, with a good old-fashioned barbecue. this morning we're just going to spill the beans on how to have a great summer party. >> perfect. what do you recommend when it comes to barbecue sauces? i know you're famous for that. >> this summer we are going to be doing a lot of promotions at famous dave's. we've got some great ways to really jump start a barbecue party because one of the things that makes a great tasting rack of ribs is a great tasting barbecue sauce. >> absolutely. that's the secret, right? >> well, a lot of times folks take the sauce and they slather it on the ribs but what i like to do is i like to kick it up by adding some different fun stuff. >> i hear your barbecue sauce has 80 proof alcohol in it. >> well, you know, as a matter of fact --

grilling up the ribs, a lot of times folks will take the ribs right off the grill or out of the smoker and then they just cover it with barbecue sauce. >> i love this thing. it's like a mop. >> it is. >> a mop. why don't you go ahead and mop her down there. >> that is great. where do you buy this? >> one of the things that -- what happens here instead of just having the barbecue sauce go on the ribs, what we're doing is we're caramelizing that sauce on the ribs and what happens, it gives it a nice -- nice taste. you can only get when the flames jump up. they flame the ribs, caramelize the sauce. >> how often do you do this? do you continuously marinade? >> marinade and slather. >> slather it. >> this summer we have got a whisky sauce for our bread pudding. i'm telling you what, come on over to famous dave's. we'll set you up with some ribs

lot of discomfort with our employees, and pretty slowed foot traffic that night, and so we decided to figure out a way to increase our foot traffic at night, and we really were trying to figure out how to get more people in the store, and after tossing it around a while decided that maybe offering a discount to law enforcement officers would maybe get a few more people in the store and make the people that are robbing the stores think about who might be in there. then we decided to carry it over to people with permits to carry and we thought that would maybe expand the amount of people that would come into the store at night, and basically it was just to increase the foot traffic in our store, and we put this 8.5 x 11 sign up in our window, since then everything took off and it's been crazy since then. >> what happened? has the foot traffic increased significantly? >> yeah. it's like -- well, we had a gentleman come through or store about three days after we put
the sign up and he took a picture of it and asked if he could put it on facebook. we said no problem. he put it on facebook that morning, must have been around 7:00 in the morning. by 9:00, 10:00 in the morning we had radio stations, newspapers calling, television stations calling, and the thing went viral, and you know, i'm not on facebook so i wasn't really aware of it until we started getting the calls in, and so -- all the notoriety. >> a place for a lot of negativity, too. people jumping in, what are you doing, saying, you're crazy? >> no. we really haven't heard any backlash. people from across the country really supporting the idea. we didn't think it would take off like this. just hoping to generate more people at night so that my employees would feel better with more people coming and going from the store, but it's really been a positive experience for us, and a lot of people, we've been getting support from across the country.

instructing everybody around, no photos. no pictures. no cell phones. the attorney general, as a matter of fact, she said shepla. i've reached out to several sources, with intimate knowledge of his movement, they work with dignitaries when they come into phoenix, not one so far are saying he played golf. not saying he didn't play golf, i'm saying i have yet to confirm that he played golf. >> just a random meeting between two people, this wasn't planned. and we are learning this morning in a fox news alert that attorney general loretta lynch plans to announce this morning she's going to accept whatever recommendation comes from the fbi director, and prosecutors there, on whether the charges relating to hillary clinton's personal e-mail server. she's going to defer to the fbi. now, there's some history here. >> this is a big deal. now, the fbi did not, of course, recommend, you remember, in the case of david petraeus, recommended felony charges.

>> talk about the middle class getting squeezed, and a lot of business owners, small business owners, scared today. july 1st, min mumm wage hike goes into effect in 15 states across the country. small businesses, talked to an owner who owns five subway restaurants. he said i'm going to have to shut down a couple of my restaurants, shut them down only bricking about 7% return on investment and will have to shut it down. this is what's happening. >> it's a tragedy. in 15 city, 5 different states, the new higher minimum wage goes into effect today, as july the 1st. the results of this will not be good. first of all, fewer jobs. have you been into a lot of restaurants recently? you order on a tablet. you don't use wait staff any longer. entry level positions wiped out. go to, say $15 an hour. that's $30,000 a year for standard workweek. entry level positions disappear. we will never know the names of those people who will not get a
job at an entry level position because of these higher minimum wages and basically it's politicians trying to wager higher rates. vote for me and you'll get a higher wage rate. >> devil's advocate. doesn't that weed out the bad people and keep got in here? >> i think wages should be set by the marketplace. what is the supply of labor at this price? if you have an adequate supply of labor that that price, wages stay stactic. we have that at that entry level position. a shortage of people will be to work at $7 or $8, wages go up. that's the way the market works and supposed to work. when you start sledge slating. a politician says, vote for me, look what i will give you that is not good news for the economy or all individuals. >> care about wages but flood the market with low-end labor. >> 11 million illegals? that's a lot of labor to compete

they won't let us hear that when they already released a transcript and we know what he said. >> a >> a redacted transcript. what could possibly be the reason behind refusing to release this? >> it's still an ongoing, pending, criminal investigation that the fbi is the lead agency. look, it's the second worst terror attack on u.s. soil since our existens, and under the freedom of information act, section 7, paragraph a, there is an exemption for ongoing crim-in-law investigations. the florida sunshine law has that same exemption status for those, for, exemptions for the crim na invessel gatien. >> i get it. stop you there. i've seen a lot of abuses by the ongoing investigation. how would the investigation be compromiseed by releasing these tapes, specifically? >> here you go, tucker.
this has always been fbi policy. where we're getting murky and where the optics have gotten off is because loretta lynch went ahead and said on june 19th on the sunday talk shows, hey, we're going to release the 911 calls. when they did the redaction it made it look bad. from an fbi standpoint i'd like to delineate, fbi slrs department of justice and loretta lynch. fbi has always gone this route. it's a slippery slope. once it's the 911 and then the negotiation talks, it just continues and the fbi needs to have that investigation be up impeded. >> the letter the fbi sent to the orlando police department. quoting, to the extend your agency is obligated to respond to a request under florida -- we request you withhold the records. so, sean, why didn't they just say that to you? why -- i mean, the guy basically
gave you the finger and walked away. why not explain why this is pertinent and needs to be withheld from the public. according to our attorneys that letter is incorrect, a violation of the law and we've dealt with this during the george zimmerman case. the special prosecutor said don't release the records, can't do that and the courts in florida already ruled, another agency can't tell the local police not to release public records. if the fbi is going to defy florida law, that's scary. if they don't want florida law to be followed they need to change the law. they can't tell police, break the law. don't release the record. the federal law, that's different. might have xemps there. in florida, time and time again, records released. they don't want it held in state court and yuanked it out to federal court. they don't want the judges to rule. >> gentlemen, thanks for joining us. appreciate it. >> thanks.

now retired air force colonel lee ellis is passing on what he knows to the next generation. next book "engage with honor: building courageous accountability" hitting stores this september. pea o pre-order it now. colonel, nice to see you this morning. >> good morning. good to be back with you. >> great to have you back here on the show. those five years obviously changed your life. what happened to you, and what did you witness during those years that compelled you these many years later to write this book? >> well, i was a young fighter pilot in vietnam. my airplane was shot down over enemy territory. i was captured immediately, taken to hanoi and spent 5 1/2 years in the hanoi hilton and surrounding camps. the thing i learned being the youngest guy and junior ranking guy, i served under some fantastic leaders and i saw character, courage and commitment. so committed to doing their
duty, being good americans and living and leading honorably and under the most difficult circumstances where they were tortured and beaten, and the most often, and the most horribly, and yet they continued to lead and stuck with the principles that they believed in about honor, and so our whole message of mission, vision and values was boiled down into return with honor. we wanted desperately to go home, but with honor. the example that i saw and that made me want to be that kind of leader and to realize the power of that kind of a leader to build a culture for success. >> unbelievable. under those circumstances, still committed to the training you were given. character, courage, commitment. >> yes. >> takes through these three cs you write about in the book. take us through character. >> well, character. we all think and say we have good character. ask an audience, everybody would raise they're hand saying, yes, i have good character. that's our goal.
the reality is, that's not easy. it's very difficult, because every day as a business person, as a schoolteacher, whatever, we face many difficult decisions. we look at the school superintendent in chicago that's going to jail for financial bribery or whatever you want to call it, kickbacks. we had schoolteachers in atlanta. we have business people, everywhere, we see issues with volkswagen and character issues. we all have to work to guard our character, but the real thing we need is the courage to carry us through, because when our doubts and fears take over, our character starts to waver. >> and character is your second c. look, we're all ruled by fear. the things we make from mistakes traces back to fear. >> they really do. i think courage is, actually, almost a decision, based upon your principles and values and your passion. you have to reach back and say, who am i? what do i stand for? what are the principles i
believe in? and now, how can i engage them? you know, sometimes i'll be making a decision and i'll keep putting it off. lee, why are you putting it off? what are you afraid of? and sit down, think it through. there is something holding me back. it's fear and doubt. okay. you've got to come up with a plan and go execute it to do the right thing. you don't want to do a knee-jerk, just go and do the right thing in a proper, respectful way. and when you do that, you always come out ahead, but you have to have that willingness to move forward into your fear. >> and one of the things you do is talk to a lot of the younger generation. one of the things maybe they got a bad rap about, millennials, start something, stop something. third c. talking to young people, how do you talk about commitment? >> staying the course. success in history, one of the key things is passion, the other is commitment and staying with it. just don't quit. you can't be someone who won't
quit. they keep coming at you and coming at you. i like to think of that in my own mind. i had a picture recently of a cogwheel that keeps turning and turning, and if you keep turning long enough you'll be successful. think about an olympic athlete getting in the pool and keep working, working, whether you're a pianist, world-class pianist, diver, swimmer, business person, it takes those thousands of hours. you have to stay with it. especially with your character. you just have to remind yourself who you are, what you stand for and keep going. we have an honor code, seven articles that we provide our clients and it's free online, that seven things about, tells truth, keep your promises, be accountable, be responsible. just some simple things, but they're very hard to do and you just have to keep reminding yourself, stay the course. >> i love it. colonel lee ellis. appreciate you join us on this fourth of july weekend.

confirm that he played golf. >> immediate outrage from both sides, by the way, over this. clearly the former president trying to influence the outcome of the criminal investigation into his wife. even democrats saying this was a bad idea for him to meet with loretta lynch. the breaking news part of it, now the attorney general is saying this morning she will take whatever recommendation the fbi gives her whether or not to indict the former secretary of state and democratic nominee hillary clinton. so here's the bottom line. by trying to "help his wife" bill clinton has hurt her yet again. >> good point. >> not for the first time. >> right. >> he's ensured the fbi, probably the most independent branch of the obama administration is making this decision. bad news for hillary, good for america and bill clinton did it. >> historical context. general petraeus, when the fbi recommended indictment for david petraeus, the attorney general's office decided to, we're going to go it alone. do our own thing here. this case, turning over the reins to james comey, director
of the fbi. >> it's off her hands. >> right. >> i have to say, hats off to her for doing it. it's the right thing to do. she is essentially recusing herself from it. >> how would you like to be hillary this morning? all of a sudden no way the obama justice department will indict the democratic nominee. fair, but a sad, but we assumed it. it's corrupt. now it's up to director comey. i wouldn't want to be hillary this morning. >> and joining us this morning, your reaction, first of all, to this breaking news, loretta lynch turning over the reins to the fbi? >> bill clinton has to have known the impact if he got on that plane. i don't understand it but once again, as tucker said, it's like, sabotage, something about him that even though he says and works so hard for his wife on those key moments he seems to do her so much damage, and the fbi is absolutely accountable and responsible, and if loretta lynch really holds true to what she just said i have to take

voters? it says to me that the trump people still believe, those supporting him, still believe there are issues on their side of the aisle and they haven't moved over to those in the center. >> hmm. yeah. look at another ad. this is clinton on greater fathers ad. >> you know, you could see there was blood coming out of her ad. blood coming out of her -- wherever. >> do you like girls that are 5'1", come up to you, you know, where? a pretty picture. >> hmm. now, i want to be critical about that one, too. you really want the impact, show the person saying it. i get the idea they're playing with their daughter and how significant the comment is, but i'm sorry. in the work we've done for the last 25 years, ads that have the person, actually visualize them saying it, are much more powerful than those that try to be a little artsy with the message. >> huh. the message itself, that trump
