it would like a game in hand for republicans. let's take a look at what the score card says. this is where early voting stands this morning. over 30 million votes close to a million of those vote were mail-in ballots. we know the outside affect, influence mail-in balloting has had in elections in 2020. salute game changer early voting. playing a huge role here in georgia. take a look at this brian, steve, ainsley. tell me what you think of those. of those early votes, 117,000 were voters who did not vote in november. now, can you imagine a republican motivated to vote now in january that was not motivated to vote in a presidential election that featured donald trump on the ballot? i would suggest that's another warning sign for republicans. steve: republicans are pulling out all the stops. they are trying to -- outside interest groups aligned with mitch mcconnell have raised something like 150 million bucks so far. kelly loeffler has brought in many so of the biggest names in republican politics. ted cruz, lindsey graham, criminals city nome, david perdue brought in texas governor rick perry. will, they are trying to match the democrats. because they seem to have a lot of energy as well. not only have they raised so much money be from out of state but also they have had door-to-door knocking, which is different for them. they have had online rap concerts. the entire cast of the movie elf did a reading of the movie to raise money for the democrats. will. will: democrats have been trying to push the enthusiasm level up as well. on top of that celebrities and democrats have encouraged people to move in from out of state. they have encouraged people who just turned 18 to make sure they register to vote. perhaps that explains that number of voters who are already casting ballots that didn't vote in november. on the other side, republican enthusiasm is about what they know is at stake in this election. mark he will levin on his show last night mark liberty and levin republican candidates or not, it doesn't matter. ainsley: so much is at stake here, will, and he is reminding us of that the balance of power. will: absolutely. look at it this way. we have had this conversation several times over the last couple of days on "fox & friends" on the weekend. what might be at the top of the democratic wish list should they control the senate the house and the presidency. many are suggesting structural change, adding d.c. and puerto rico as states. doing away with the filibuster. mechanisms designed to ensure democrats not just get power this time but control power in to the future. because, if that's the case, brian, steve, ainsley, then you can get everything you want on your wish list. brian: all right, will. we will check in with you again a wild scene over the next 48 hours. likely to be an election week than election night. because we never likely to get the results the same day they don't start counting mail in absentee until election day unlike what florida did. meanwhile, let's change gears and talk about the one lead story would be a lead any other day except for today because of the special elections in georgia and that is what ted cruz is heading up. senator josh hawley started it. ted cruz is leading it. leading a group of 11 more senator. basically calling for emergency 10-day audit of election returns in the disputed states. he is going to both the representative since he has over 100 in the house. these are the 11 that are up there. mitt romney is not one of them. but he says since representative -- since these representatives are going to object. they want to put together a commission maybe if it's precedent 1876 is a precedent. would be the chief justice which would be john roberts. and the house speaker would be nancy pelosi. will name a commission and in 10 days find out if the electoral college actually had it right and joe biden won. here is ted. >> went in to this election with the country deeply divided. deeply polarized. and we have seen in the last two months unprecedented allegations of voter fraud. and that's produced a deep, deep distrust of our democratic process across the country. i think we, in congress, have an obligation to do something about that. we will, together, object to certificationing in order to force the appointment of an emergency electoral commission to perform an emergency audit of the election result to assess these claims of fraud. we have an obligation to the voters and we have an obligation to the constitution to inbe sure that this election was lawful. will. brian: the thing that's scary is because this puts in doubt all the things with the electoral college not without precedent but virtually is. makes people wonder like democrats do we have an excuse to start dumping the electoral college among the significant republicans not on bored predicted that maybe senator susan collins wouldn't be. and maybe mitt romney would never be. how about tom cotton he says i'm out on this. i would like an examination of what happened. and liz cheney said don't count me in. she thinks it's dangerous. steve: well, democrats in the past have done things like this but not quite this large. so it will be interesting to see what happens. there are 140 members in the house who want to challenge the electoral college result, and so stay tuned. bubblinbubblingbuckle in. ainsley: you hear people saying they have got dead people's ballots. i heard one lady say she got four ballots in the mail. two of them were for the people who lived in her house before and both of them are dead. she could have easily if she had done the wrong thing it's illegal. she could have voted illegally. she didn't do that. but so many people have questions, integrity is so important and interest there are these patel ground states where they changed the laws. they changed the rules at the last minute and people have a problem with that they are worried if they don't do something about it now this will continue and mail-in ballots will continue in the next election. brian: it's got no shot at success. steve: that's the case that donald trump and his lawyers have put out. they said there is all this evidence. but they haven't really produced the evidence. are i have read the entire one hour and two minute call the president had with brad rafnsberg yesterday and at one point the president was talking about how thousands of dead people voted and the secretary of state down in georgia said, you know, mr. president, we have looked into that. we could only find two people who were listed as dead who actually did the voting. and it was, you know, it was mistake in the household. will. ainsley: just that state. steve: in the state of georgia. ultimately is it going to make any difference are? brian, to your point, probably not. but for a lot of people who feel like they have been listening to the president of the united states and he is asking for loyalty to them they are standing up for him at the 11th hour. pause, after wednesday. that's it. brian: yeah. that will be it. just the one other thing to bring up with all of this is that i just worry about you have that along with the protest the president is calling for on tuesday and wednesday. i mean, this is the type of anarchy that doesn't work for anybody republicans or democrats in the big picture. and i just think it's up to the president's legal team to produce what they are telling them they have. for example, if they have thousands -- if they have hundred dead people voting in nevada, can i see the names? 200 -- if you have thousands, you are telling the president you have thousands of dead people voting in georgia. show the president and then have the president hold it up. because if it's 2,000 most likely be 20,000. so far there is just no proof of it. and just because you voted for the president doesn't mean that there is actual evidence that exists. steve: do you know what, brian? there have been a number of the president's supporters who have said things on t are v or on social media that have, you know, clouded the waters where it's like wow, thousands of dead people. dominion machines and all that stuff. but interestingly enough, that information is never entered into a court because you cannot present information to a court if you do not have the evidence. and so far we haven't seen the evidence. maybe today at noon bring out the evidence but we haven't seen the evidence. ainsley: i think people who are staunch conservatives in our country just feel so -- just so defeated pause of this election they do feel like it was rigged and to see what happened in georgia. that democrat could have the house. democrats could have the senate and the presidency. if disheartening for a lot of people. steve: that's the danger for a lot of people in georgia, ainsley, so many of the republicans are quietly a little worried because the president has said look, it was rigged. so, if it was rigged in georgia, why would we go and waste our vote waste our time standing in line tomorrow? the worry is that that it's rigged thing could actually tamp down the republican voters tomorrow. brian: actually, if you look at it, outside the presidency, the republicans had a sensational night on november 3rd. proof in point, the house. look what they did. they didn't lose one single seat as of right now. two seats unfilled. look like they are going to go to the production' direction. they gained a huge number of seats. not one expert had this happening. kevin mccarthy always believed it wouldn't. even though they were outspent precipitously. 322 democrats and 211, 211 republicans with two seats unfilled. ainsley: that's why nancy pelosi almost didn't win yesterday. >> and to that point nancy pelosi was able to hold on to her speakership. but 216 votes, mccarthy had 209. many. ainsley: kevin mccarthy was giving the speech and passing the gavel to her. he said my dad was a firefighter and i will never ever vote to defund the police or law enforcement or firefighters. everyone, you know. steve: one other person in the leadership on the republican side yesterday he tweeted out steve scalise said i can't believe nancy pelosi is going to keep eric swalwell on the intel committee after all that >> absolutely. being sworn in yesterday, although i will tell you it was kind of a poop show because everything was so chaotic. other than that we felt invigorated. we know conservatism on the asen kansas. you could feel it on the house and the floor. we know these policies from the left are a complete disaster. they might win in super blue, dark blue districts but they don't win in moderate district. they definitely don't win in red districts. that's why we were not only successful he increasing our numbers in a substantial way in the united states house but we did it in state legislators all across america. steve: we are showing you a split screen with you and kevin mccarthy who came in second. he was really close to nancy pelosi. but, of course, they -- democrats had have the majority. however, she had six defections. and he had zero. and we were talking a little while ago, the interesting thing about what we know so far about the incoming congress is apparently nancy pelosi is going to keep eric swalwell on the intel committee after all that stuff about the chinese spy. >> yeah. again, this is one of the reasons why under her leadership the house has been a complete disaster. you can't be in bed with the chinese and then sit is on our intel committee. you simply can't do it. she should reverse that decision immediately. one of the things that happened yesterday is leader mccarthy really gave a clear, detailed speech yesterday before she took the gavel about what has gone wrong here in washington. not just the last two years but in her time in leadership here in washington, d.c. and so what you are going to see from us and the freedom force and from the new members coming into the 117th congress is we are going to hold her accountable. we are going to make sure that the american people know clearly the type of terrible political game she is playing. the terrible policies she wants to push forward and we are going to fight for freedom, liberty and our constitution going forward in this congress. ainsley: i watched that speech yesterday. i like how he said my fire was a firefighter and he said i will never defund law enforcement. and the whole room just everyone was clapping and i think it was a standing ovation at that point. what was it like for you? newly elected there in washington are to the first time getting sworn in. >> surreal, honestly. really a blessing are to the people back home in southwest florida, naples and fort myers. really just thankful for your support and your believe in me. really just excited for myself and my family, my mom is here. and she, you know, she doesn't cry much, but she was really excited. hey, mom, love i can't. really excited to get to work. >> i can understand that and a you are excited. do you know who also was getting to work? of the squad. they feel empowered. they also feel like their numbers have grown. when you see the group shot of the squad, the most left wing of the left wing party, what are your thoughts about the power they bring to the floor. >> i mean, i don't really know why they feel excited or empowered. they might have increased their numbers, but this is the slimmest majority democrats have had since world war ii. what that shows is that even though they might win in these super blue districts, their message doesn't resonate. their policies do not resonate across most of the country when people get away from the politics of personality and start looking at their pocketbooks and their communities and things that are important for the future of their children. steve: congressman, before you go, are i know you were born and raised in brooklyn up here in new york. how did you kind up in florida? certification of the presidential race on wednesday, there is some worry these are going to be working in tension with each other. will they discourage people from voting on tuesday? well, senator david perdue was on the next revolution last night. he said he is not worried about that. listen. >> i don't think it's really going to affect our election. i'm still shocked that a member of the republican party would tape a sitting president and then leak that it's disgusting in my view. but, what the president says is exactly what he has been saying the last few months and that is that the last two months anyway, we have had some irregularities in the election in november and he wants some answers. he has not gotten them yet from ourselves. that's one reason why i ask for them to to resign. will: i'm sure, ains bely, brian, and steve, there are people who are worried before the integrity of the election here in georgia. i do not think it's going to play a significant role in the outcome of these senate runoff races. i have think you either understand what's at stake or you do not. i think you either understand that this is the potential direct vote on whether or not taxes both income in the state will be increased the green new deal is the top agenda item list and will be passed. whether or not immigration laws will be changed. i think you either understand that if democrats have complete control of the federal government what they will do with it or you do not. i think that's pretty clear. brian: yeah. it is pretty clear and the numbers are pretty clear, too. if the republic is going to be successful it's going to be like they did on election day. people have got to walk up and vote on election day. that's tomorrow. they say that last time 61% of senator perdue's votes came on election day. he got 977,000. now they say he needs about 1.3 million to come on election day to show up on election day and then things will break his way and loeffler's way. that's what the statisticians say with 22% of people when asked on election day i'm going to vote. i'm not doing the early thing. i'm going to wait until election day. we will see what happens. long lines look good for republicans. will voting day. not really in to the mail in voting or early voting. we will check in with you again. will: okay. see you guys. brian: 9 minutes after the top of the hour. other big story happening taking place on the on wednesday. that will be january 6th. when they go to gavel in the electoral college results. at which time 11, 12 senators have joined senator ted cruz and said we would like to 10 days to evaluate in the battleground states what really took place there because they say so much went wrong there. senator ron johnson is one of those people that signed up for this. and he said i'm with ted. and he was the one who went on meet the press and had a very, i guess, dispassionate host in chuck todd who wasn't buying any of it. this was a brawl. here's a little of it. >> we are not asking to thwart the democratic process. we are asking to protect it. the fact of the matter is that we have an unsustainable state of affairs in this country where we have tens of millions of people that do not view this election result as legitimate. >> you made an allegation that there was widespread fraud. have you failed to offer specific evidence of that widespread fraud, but you are demanding an investigation on the grounds that there are allegations of widespread fraud. so, essentially, you're the arsonist here. >> this fire was started when you completely ignored, for example, our investigation of hunter biden where republicans and conservatives do not trust the mainstream media and that is what has destroyed the credibility of the media. >> all right. i have had enough of hearing this. steve: and chuck todd at one point inwent on to talk about are you going to investigate the moan landing and things like that as well? there are 140 members of the house on the republican side who are going to challenge and there are as we saw in that graphic at least a baker's dozen, 13 senators on the republican side as well. what they want is they would like a congressional commission to look into the election results. and they would like a 10-day pause and certification to do an audit. it is unlikely that that is going to happen because, keep in mind, the democrats hold the majority in the house. and on the republican side in the senate, mitch mcconnell himself has already acknowledged joe biden is the president-elect. nonetheless, you know, you saw that clip right there with chuck todd, there are members of the mainstream media that say that this is unprecedented and yet in 2005 this were democrat who did the same thing. not these numbers but nonetheless the same thing. here is joe concha. >> reading a cnn story on this from january 6th of 2005, talks about how 31 house members voted against george w. bush's win in 2004. here's what cnn had to say about it. the move was not designed to overturn bush's re-election. the objecting democrats, all of whom are house members except for boxer said they wanted to draw attention to the need for aggressive election reform in the wake of what they said was widespread voter problems. boy, that sounds familiar. that sounds very 2020, doesn't it? ainsley: you know, here's the question that a lot of people are asking. if there is a question about the vote. and if they think that it was rigged, and many people do believe that then we need investigations and we need to know what our votes count, that our votes -- the votes were legal and we need to find out where the problems are so we can make sure this doesn't happen in the future. because, if these democrats, if they win georgia, people fear that from here on out there are going to be mail-in votes which we don't trust now because the president doesn't trust it and we all have heard these stories of people getting four ballots and two of them were dead people. and so you have to have trust anding integrity of the system. if doesn't matter if you are republican or democrat we should all want that. so many people questioning what's happening, an investigation, many of these republicans just want it investigated. steve: part of it, ainsley, is the fact that the president has been talking about how it's rigged. he has got my lawyers tell me this. but we just haven't seen the evidence to suggest that at this point. ainsley: a lot of republicans don't think we ever will see the evidence. because they -- we can't prove a lot of these signatures. they changed the rules at the last minute in pennsylvania. they changed of the rules in georgia. because of covid. and because of covid, people didn't want to go to the polls. i understand that. but changed everything. steve: right. covid is still out there today. that's one of the things that the senators and the congressman are looking at on the republican side who are going to object to the certification on wednesday. is they would like to reform the election system. so that what happened in november, you know, if there was fraud, never happens again. brian: right. just keep in mind, too. we want to keep the electoral college in america. that's what we do. and if democrats looking for some type of opening to get rid of it. i worry as does people like liz cheney and senator tom cotton and senator lindsey graham who certainly in the president's side almost on everything he has done for three and three quarter years, they worry about this being opening saying why don't we blow it up and make it a simple popular vote. ainsley: dangerous because that could backfire brian brian think this is the last protest. we will see. overshadowing what happened with the presidential race you many state houses senate. won one of these seats hold it in a year in which he this were supposed to lose it. they were supposed to get crushed in the house. they picked up seats there now within 11 seats of the majority. cori bush is somebody who is making a lot of noise for himself. not only calling capitalism a form of has had 100 years to master the process. it was close. they were sweating it. they didn't know if they would have members unable to show up. they have been proxy voting this whole year. there were members in the chamber yesterday that had made their first trip it washington, d.c. in about 8 months. and so there was uncertainty. one member claimed to have covid six days ago. they had allegedly set up plexiglass for her in in the event they needed her vote at the last minute on the floor. they didn't be in the end, but it just goes to show how nervous they were about the whole process. steve: i think you are referring to glen moore a democrat from wisconsin announced six days earlier she had tested positive for covid. didn't say when or if she was negative. said she was cleared of after what came out in the last month that he would still be on that committee, is either incompetence or desfather ration on her part to keedesdesperatios whole vote theory that would make sense to me she had to have his vote to stay speaker. keeping him on because she actually believes in him is just crazy to me. steve: then again, back when he first came in, she was apparently brief evidenced on what had transpired. >> that's correct. steve: and put it on it anyway. it speaks to her judgment. >> it's a shame. we also know if the situation were reversed. if it were a republican on that committee. they would just be -- there would be outrage on the streets on the democratic side. steve: absolutely. all right. there is outrage on the -- in the streets of the democrats. that a number of republicans including you, there are 140 house members who plan to challenge the electoral college certification on wednesday. what happened touring the election that has pushed you to the point where you say hey, we have got to talk about this before we vote? >> you know, in my election in texas, just at a much smaller scale level, poll watchers representing my campaign were turned away from polling places in democrat run dallas county and i thought to myself if this is happening to me here, what's happening in these other areas. and then come to find out there were numerous instances, allegations, sworn testimony by people who are purging themselves if thepurge perjurint telling the truth. numerous counts of voter fraud across the area. thee have not had full audits of ballots in georgia. when you recount the same ballots all over again all you are doing is recountinged what numbers. we have been refused a full signature audits in places like georgia. i heard yesterday that if, in fact, there was this fraud that the senate runoff for mr. perdue is not even necessary. so, we have just got so many questions that voters want answers to. my constituents want answers to. and i don't understand why democrats refuse to even have a conversation about this -- these allegations. you would think they would want them cleared up going into january 20th. steve: right. that he was what i read. the main thing republicans just simply want to have the discussion. want to have the debate. result mastly though, i would imagine you would like some sort of election reform so that this never happens again. >> that would be nice. it's difficult to imagine a scenario where we have meaningful reform if nancy pelosi is speaker. especially if we lose in georgia tomorrow. the georgia races tomorrow are so critical. but, would he have got to at least shine a light on fraud and these allegations and put these to bed. and i don't think that we have had answers. i don't understand why the other side calls my side those of house are come out in opposition to certifying these results, why they have called us unamerican. why they say it's irresponsible. i don't understand why republicans in the house, some of my own colleagues would actually come out and say that what we're doing is unamerican. and unwise. i think getting to the root of these allegations and determining what fraud did or did not take place is very american and is our duty as members of congress. steve: we should point out that democrats have done it in the past so it's not unprecedented. congressman, him as america's governor meanwhile he was putting covid positive patient into nursing homes for 46 of days and never really called to task on the major news programs. and our grief started to turn to anger. not only my grief but thousands of other families who want answers and accountability to this date the governor has never said i'm sorry for your loss. he really hasn't taken any responsibility and that's why i wanted to write this from the very beginning from march an wards until today where we are still grieving and we still don't have the answers. including the exact number of seniors who died not only in nursing homes but in the hospital like my mother-in-law did. ainsley: you write about the props that he uses and that really struck a nerve with me, too. because when you see these leaders the ones that are hypocrites, you know, telling us to do one thing and they are not cooking it themselves or when you see him on another network with that big q-tip and laughing about it with his brother i thought about the people who do have covid and that -- it's not a laughing matter. did that really -- how did you feel when you saw him laughing with his brother or saw him using these props? >> it was awful. that was during of the time when we were trying to get answers and finding out about this mandate that put covid positive patients into nursing homes. for 46 days and to see him joking that cuomo comedy hour over on cnn him writing a book in the middle of a pandemic. and then getting an emmy for his leadership. it's beyond salt in a wound, ainsley. and he continues his victory tour. and be so that's why i wanted to write a complete essay and get quotes from nursing home operators and families who have lost loved ones, it was important to do. this i hope it's one of the last essays i have to write on this governor. ainsley: you know, janice, why aren't they giving you the numbers? don't be we deserve to know? janice: we do. to this date he still continues to not give us the numbers. his government, his health department, and i got a quote from the justice department who has an investigation into the governor and these numbers as of october, and they gave me a quote from a justice official senior justice official from the department saying that as of this date, governor cuomo and his health department have given them nothing. ainsley: all right. keep >> you know, when interest are allegations of fraud, and when there's all this conversation that is taking place around the election results, one of the things that we should do is define the problem and then offer an action item that will get us to a solution. and that's exactly what we are doing. and what we said we would do in our statement in putting in place a commission that would conduct a review of what transpired, investigate the allegations and then come back to the electoral college, which i will say is a vital part of our process, that is the appropriate respectful step to take. it is constitutional. it is given to the electoral college to make these decisions. and that is exactly what we're doing. we're exercising our constitutional duty and following precedent from 1877 this is the recommendation and the way they resolved it then. it's appropriate we use that now. ainsley: will you explain what's going on in the state of georgia? i know you are from tennessee. another southern state. i grew up in south carolina. where our families love the bible. families love their guns. family love community and they take care of one another. most of them don't leave the state. if you were born in south carolina. you know, most people don't understand why living in new york city and i love that state but this is where my job called. and so, what's going on be in that state? because when newt gingrich was speaker, i mean, that state was so ored. how in the world are these two runoff elections neck in neck? >> and ainsley i talked to georgians every single day. as we have worked on this. and that look at this and say how is it that people that live outside of the state have the ability to vote in our election? and when you look at the issues that are there in georgia i say what you have got coming back are the security moms. women who are speaking up and they are concerned about economic security, job security. they want to make certain that their communities are safe. and they are showing up at the ballot box. and the interesting thing to me is most of these women are not partisans. they don't identify as republican, democrat, or independent. what they are focused on is the future for their children. opportunity for their children. making certain that their families have jobs. making certain that their freedoms are protected. and i, honestly, do not think these women i will are going to go vote for the two most radical senate candidates that the democrat party has ever ever put forward in any states. brian: you are right. by all polls neck in neck or it looks like the democrats are up two. they need 1.3 million to show up roughly an estimate on election day for the republican us to prevail at least for senator perdue to do. i want to bring the other big story to happen yesterday. "the washington post" posted 4 and a half minutes and allowed and actually had an attachment to have the whole transcript of an hour long conversation the president had with his legal team mark meadows and the secretary of state and his legal team about election contentions and the issues that the decided that georgia would go electoral votes would go to joe biden by about 11,000 votes. at which time the president is heard saying i need 11,000 -- he is urging him to find enough will votes to reverse the state's rules. can you find 11,000 more votes. he believes in every fiber of his meaning that he won georgia. what did you glean from that call yesterday? if. >> reporter: that's right, ainsley, brian and steve, good morning. and and masked up because more and more people keep coming hours before the president gets here at 9:00. by the way, or it's been nearly 30 years since a sitting president came. you can hear them chanting stop the steal. we have mike came all the way from indiana to wave this flag. they're fired up, they believe in the president x they want to hear him tonight. the president comes down amid the firestorm after that recording was leaked obtained by "the washington post" of the president pressuring georgia's secretary of state on a call to secure enough votes to overturn the presidential results. listen. >> i just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state. so tell me, brad, what are we going to do in we won the election, and it's not fair to talk it away from us like -- to take it away from us like this. >> reporter: rathensberger confirms the call to fox news and has drawn criticism from the state gop chairman. the president also attacking governor brian kemp over the weekend calling for his resignation, kemp for his part is finding himself between a rock and a hard place as they try to navigate the division, trying to put the focus back on democrats. >> not just radical ideas that would transform our country, it's radical candidates like raphael warnock. >> we'll show the world that the people of georgia know what's at stake here. we're going to hold the line here in georgia. >> reporter: meanwhile, vice president-elect kamala harris was down in savannah yesterday on the attack. watch. >> certainly the voice of desperation, most certainly that, and it was a bald-faced, bold abuse of power by the president of the united states. >> reporter: so here comes dueling rallies. president-elect joe biden will be down in atlanta at some point today, but then tonight the, 9 p.m., these folks, the crowd already going, they're chanting four more years, it it will be very interesting to see, guys, exactly what the president has to say in his message as he tries to turn out voters in north georgia, an area where the early voting has shown republicans need a strong showing. brian: it's amazing how many people come to see griff do a live lotter. steve: they're shouting four more minutes. [laughter] brian: yeah, but they're going to get will cain. they didn't know we had him in the bullpen. he's ready to go. griff, we'll see you again. the total mail-in voters pretty astounding, almost a million, total in-person voting almost two million, the total vote is three million, they expect about 1.3 million on election day. are there indications that'll happen? >> reporter: well, certainly needed, as you pointed out, brian. there's going to need to be a big election day turnout for republicans because what's on the line? well, completely unobstructed power. democrats control the house, the senate and the presidency, what's on the line? listen to senator chuck schumer. >> now we take georgia with and then we take the world. >> [inaudible] >> now we take georgia, then we change america. >> reporter: now we take georgia, then we change america. that raises the obvious question, what do you mean? change america, does that mean adopting a governing philosophy that believes america is inherentlyville and racist? does it mean to shut businesses down throughout this covid pandemic? is it just raise taxes, pass the green new deal, change immigration laws, or is it change this country structurally? add two more states to add four more senators, get rid of the filibuster, consolidate democratic power? what does it mean to change america? they might find out soon here in georgia. steve: well, if the democrats do lose, i'm sure they'll be going, hey, chuck, why'd you give them a sound bite? >> reporter: i know. steve: will, thank you very much. we'll check back in in about 20 minutes. in griff's report, we saw a snippet of brian kemp, the governor there, and he has been steadfast in supporting the republicans in this re-election. but you know what? according to the atlanta journal constitution this morning, their lead story on politics is about how he has, for the most part, in this final push been missing in action aaside from on tv. he's not appearing at the loeffler or perdue events, and one of the reasons is the fact that because the president has just, you know, he said the election there has been rigged, he said that brian kemp is a joke and he's clueless and he should quit. it's that intraparty squabbling that has some people worried, ainsley, that that could actually tamp down the election tomorrow because 100% it comes down to turnout tomorrow, and if the republicans do not turn out because they feel it's rigged or, you know, the system is against donald trump and the republicans, that could be the difference right there. ainsley: so many people that voted for president trump, assume all of them who voted for president trump, are heart broken because their guy, it appears, is not going to be certified on wednesday. and they don't want to see that happen in georgia, they don't want these mail-in votes, they're worried about the election in four more years and how what happened during covid will affect the changes in four more years. so it's extremely important. and mark levin on his show over the weekend, he was talking about how if you live in georgia and you're a republican, please go and vote, please do this for me, do this for the rest of the country because georgia's voice will affect all of us. steve: right. and so it's going to be really important what the president says tonight in dalton, georgia. ainsley: right. steve: if he continues to say it's rigged and, you know, it was stolen from him, that may once again tamp things down. but then again, same time, the balance of power in the senate is hanging on those two seats. iowans iowans yep. and there's a group of lawmakers that have gotten together, and they have said we're going to challenge wednesday, because wednesday the votes are formally counted. and most people believe, you know, joe biden -- certified -- will be the president. so you've got this group that's worried about voter integrity like many of you are worried about, and so they are going to -- what are they calling it? they're calling it, they're challenging the electoral college certification. they're appointing a commission to investigate the fraud, and they're calling for a 10-day audit of the election results. james lankford said no matter how it turns out, we want the truth to come out. even if you don't believe it was rigged, but many of you do, and if there is integrity, if voter integrity is on the line, the electoral integrity is on the line, why not investigate just to make sure those people who believe that it was rigged, that they have peace of mind? brian: i just don't know what they're going to do different that his legal team hasn't done in the battleground statements in the 60 cases. a lot of the frustration is because a lot of these judges say they'll another going -- i'm not going to hear the case. that really is the frustration, why marsha blackburn has joined the other 12 like john kennedy, senator haggerty, marshall, loomis and tommy tube orerville and 100 plus in the house. ainsley: and it's worked before, right? brian: i don't know if you consider it working, 1876 the commission to cut a deal that allowed rut orerford b. hayes to be president, we'll taken troops out of south carolina and florida after reconstruction, after the civil war if you just let this guy be president, and you don't pay attention to the second group of electors that was just pushed in in front. so, again, i'm not sure we're going to cut that deal today or what that deal would look like. senator marsha blackburn is marching forward. >> when there are allegations of fraud and when there's all this conversation that is taking place around the election results, one of the things that we should do is define the problem and then offer an action item that will get us to a solution. and that's exactlily what we are doing. exactly what we are doing and what we said we would do in our statement in putting in place a commission that would conduct a review of what transpired, investigate the allegations. that is the appropriate, respectful step to take. it is constitutional. brian: vulnerable people not taking that step, senator tom cotton and a group of seven house republicans including congressman chip roy, people worried about the process. they know the president is upset about it and we know there's some problems, but not many people want to take this constitutional step. it's dividing the republican party. steve: sure. and, you know, ted cruz who is onboard with it, he is presumed to be somebody who would want to run for president in 2024 as is tom cotton, and tom cotton said not counting the electoral votes would take away the power to choose the prosecute president people -- president from the people and establish unwise precedents. anyways, he does support a commission and to talk a little bit about are form which we've been talking about for three hours. meanwhile, news time at 8:12 eastern time. jillian? what about the invest into hunter biden where you said that was russian propaganda? what about the facts that came out now that are now confirmed by places like "the new york times" and e-mails that are now out, an investigation that we now know is ongoing? what about the fact the tweet the, the coup has started, rebellion and impeachment to follow ultimately? what about that story? he did not bring that up when it came down to chris krebs who said this election has been the pure pest ever -- pure ifest ever. -- purest ever. he was worried about foreign entities, and he talked about the substance of his investigation that his network never covered. >> you know, i really think that chuck todd here did just a terrible job, but it's to be expected from a lot of these corporate media entities who have essentially looked away from anything that they dislike, anything that they don't want to cover about what's happened the last several years. they've pretended like things have been the way they wanted them to be as opposed to the way that they actually are. it's humpty dumpty e and through the looking glass. words mean what i want them to mean as opposed to the actual definition, and that's something that i think is going to be a continuing problem in the future because this is not going to a situation where they change or alter any of their behavior. and we've learned that from the last several years. we've seen the degree to which they're willing to participate in this, you know, ridiculous and over the top, you know, approach to covering politics where they pretend like duly-elected republican members are in some way conspiracy theorists, that they're, you know, out there on the extreme as opposed to raising legitimate issues that a lot of americans cower about. brian: ben, real quick, are you on the side of tom cotton, investigate it but let the electoral college cert fire, or are you in the camp of ted cruz, 10-day pause? >> reporter: good morning, ainsley. many americans are starting the new year in a new state. we were already seeing this trend of people leaving high-tax states before the pandemic, and then the pandemic sped it right up. as you mentioned, new york and illinois leading with the largest amount of population loss between july of 2019 and july of 2020. california not too far behind. illinois, by the way, has seen its population shrink by a greater amount each of the last seven years, so why is this happening? well, high taxes certainly play a part, but people are also looking to live in areas where they can afford a bigger house with more space during the pandemic. and with work from home continuing into 2021, it is likely people who have moved will stay put, and the trend might even continue more. as far as the states that people are moving to, the top three are texas, florida and arizona. one thing you might notice about a all three of those states, they are known for their warmer weather as i stand here in the snow in chicago. and two of those three states, texas and florida, ainsley, have no state the income tax. so is that just a countries dense? what do you think? ainsley: steve and i were talking earlier, grady, that our christmas card list changed so much because so many people have left this area, and all of my friends that moved down to florida, they're not coming back, unfortunately. thanks, grady. steve, over to you. he's steefs ainsley, thank you. president trump and president-elect joe biden making their final pitch to georgia votersed today with dueling rallies ahead of tomorrow's crucial runoff elections. that will decide which party controls the u.s. senate. fox news contributor and former speaker of the house newt gingrich joins us. he knows a thing or two about georgia. he's from there. newt, good morning to you. >> good morning. steve: so if the president of the united states goes to dalton, georgia, tonight and he says, listen, i want you to vote for kelly loeffler and david perdue but then also gets into, you know, the election in november was rigged and it was stolen from me, are you one of the republicans who worries that could actually discourage turn tomorrow? because it's all about turnout tomorrow. >> no, look, i think trump's going to be trump, whatever that means. and the people who love him are going to go along with it. his job tonight is to remind his supporters which, you know, repalin party -- republican party has a huge base -- that they need to get out and vote tomorrow. i think he'll do that. and if they do get out and vote tomorrow and if the 8,000 poll watchers, the most in history, watch carefully e the counting of the ballot, i suspect late tomorrow night or early on wednesday we'll find out that senator perdue and senator loeffler have been elected. but i'm not very worried. i mean, there's no point -- if you want to get trump to come down, he'll be trump. steve: yeah. >> and it's huguely unlikely that he's not going to say something about how he feels and about the rex results -- the election results in georgia, but he's also going to tell people that the only way to change it is to go vote. and so if you care for his values and you care for the values that have traditionally been american, you have to go vote. and, by the way, the house democrats just reaffirmed that both by having the opening prayer end with amen and i awoman which is language wise totally stupid and then by having in their rules a proposal to abolish 26 words like father, mother, daughter to create gender security. just a reminder to the average georgia began when we say radical, we mean radical, because that's who they are. steve: newt, georgia has changed a lot since you were running for office down there back in the day. the county was with, obviously, a newt gingrich stronghold, but now it's a democratic stronghold. what is happening to the political profile of georgia? government is the entity shutting down small businesses. government is the entity enforcing lockdowns, and she turns and says what about aid to government? really stunning. and one more thing, there's no such thing as the business of government. government doesn't create profit, government moves money around like a bulldozer shoving dirt from one side to other. it's not in any business. brian: very good point. we're not in any business, but they're very good at destroying businesses. no state is more locked down than california, it remains for weeks now the epicenter of the virus. the lockdowns aren't working, livelihoods are being destroyed. good combination. will, thanks so much. >> reporter: thank you. brian: let's bring in house minority leader who was almost speaker, kevin mccarthy. congressman, it was a very close vote. you deserve a lot of credit for the fact that republicans now are in striking distance in the house. not one expert predicted this. people had been focused on the presidency, not enough on this unbelievable news that came out for republicans in the house. do you believe that nancy pelosi realizes she's going to have to actually do deals with you to get anything done? >> i don't think that's in her nature to ever want to work with republicans. we've seen it time and again. but if you watch what's going to happen on the floor today, they're going to change the rules. and they're changing the rules only to cheat the minority. and they're not just changing the rule that's been around for a little while, it's been for the history of the entire congress, the minority has always a had the ability to offer an amendment on a bill. they are taking that away. they're trying to silence our vote, they're trying to silence our speech. in essence, our constituents. and watch what she did yesterday, such a razor thin to even win the speakership, she brought a member back who has not been to congress since may and had covid starting on december 28th and was not, did not test negative before she allowed that person to come back. that is how fearful she is of losing this majority and changing the rules on this floor. how is that allowed? they have the votes, that's the unfortunate part. and think about it, for every single democrat that voted for nancy pelosi, they voted to put a person back on the intel committee, swalwell, who's been with the chinese only because she could not are move that person because she needed his vote for speaker. steve: that says a lot. let's talk about this, there was a recording like people have never heard before where the president of the united states is on the phone talking to the georgia secretary of state and his general counsel, mark meadows was there in the oval office and things like that. it sounds like the president is telling brad rathensberger, hey, gotta find about 12,000 votes because this was stolen from me, they're there somewhere. how do you interpret what you heard and what you read about what the president and the georgia secretary of state were talking about? >> what i read about the president's always been concerned about the integrity of the election. and the president believes that there are things that happened in georgia, and he wants to see the accountability for it. but, look, does anybody in america think the last election was done well? rhyme still waiting on a race -- i'm still waiting on a race in new york that has not been declaired yet. steve: yeah, two races. >> yeah. what has happened in this last election because of covid, people just sending ballots out to anyone who's on the rolls. these rolls have not been cleaned up. and this isn't the first time this has happened. when are we going to straighten out our elections, and when can we have a debate about the integrity, and that's what the house should be doing and the senate. this should never happen again in the future. we've watched it before. we have to change it, and we have to make sure that our elections are accountable, have integrity and are safe. ainsley: yeah. i watched you last night when you gave that beautiful. speech talking about your dad being a firefighter, and you said i will never defund the police. you know, that message, they stopped using that message after they realized it wasn't polling well with democrats. what's going on in the state of georgia? do you think they'll flip-flop on that if they win, these democrats? >> oh, they're going to flip-flop on it. they can't give -- they can't say amen to a prayer? you cannot saw you're a father, a son, a mother or a daughter? you cheat the minority on a vote on the floor. they're not coming closer to what the american people want, they're going further away to protect their extreme radical views. the only thing in the democratic party that grew was the squad. you know, not one republican lost in the last election, and what their whole mantra -- the last congress was the least productive congress in 50 years. did they change the course to make it more open for more voices to be heard?
