more years why would anyone be surprised if we have more america ablaze. >> sphrrm latinos for trump in arizona. >> many hispanics came here to pursue the american dream. if you look at what they're asking for it's like the personal night mayor. [chanting four more years] steve: hi, everybody, welcome to fox and friends for this tuesday, september 15th, it is exactly seven weeks from today, 49 days until the big election and we have lots to talk about that with a very special guest today, ainsley. ainsley: that's exactly right. the president is going to join us at 8:00 this morning. we have so much news to cover this morning. so much happened over the weekend and yesterday and we want to fill you in on that and what the breaking news is this morning on all those stories. brian is on assignment down in washington. hey, brian. brian: yeah, ainsley and steve. first off, i mean, you have the natural disasters. you have the law and order issue happening every major city in the tragedy over the weekend and two campaigns. joe biden is actually leaving and going to florida. so have you two campaigns to actually cover on the move no longer virtual, i guess in delaware. >> steve: there must be something going on with the polls if he left the basement that's what president trump supporters would say. we'll ask him in two hours. in the meantime we start this hour with a fox news extreme weather alert. hurricane sally is slowly inching toward the gulf coast right now, traveling three miles an hour. ainsley: slowly is what worries janice dean. states of emergency declared in florida, mississippi, alabama, and louisiana. the storm is expected to bring historic and life threatening flooding. brian: are they ready. janice dean is tracking sally's path right now. janice: a lot of people are focused whether this is a category 2 or category 1. it doesn't matter it. could be a tropical storm. the main risks are going to be the slow movement of the storm system and the potential for 2 feet to 30 inches of rainfall along the gunk and that could be potentially catastrophic and deadly. this is a storm system continuously push storm surge and innun dated with rainfall inland across these vulnerable areas and wind gusts across the coast tropical storm force force. event well into tomorrow morning and thursday. that's my concern here. it doesn't take a hurricane to cause incredible amounts of flooding damage and know what to do if the water is on the rise in your areas and you live along these vulnerable coast lines. 85 mile-per-hour sustained winds. the last a few frames of the satellite showing a burst of convection so there is a potential for strengthening but because this is going to sit along the gulf coast and not move, very fast, that is the biggest danger. we saw what happened with hurricane harvey. in texas tropical storm allison it wasn't even a hurricane. 36, 40 inches of rainfall. these are the worse case scenarios when it comes to these systems. there is the track. there is workers' compensation, thursday not moving very fast. so this is goings to be the biggest colonel is the flooding, the storm surge, the rain on top of flooded ground, it really is the potential for a disaster in this area unfortunately guys. we will bring you the latest. i'm world about this one, i really am. steve: earlier this morning i saw a memorial to katrina right there in louisiana and it was surrounded by floodwaters already. it's really something and you are going to be keeping an eye on it. thank you, ma'am. meanwhile another first alert. new surveillance video shows the dramatic moments after two l.a. county sheriff deputies were ambushed. we have a warning though, the video, the graphic, the video is very graphic. ainsley: one of the deputies she is 31 years old. she is a mom. she placed a tourniquet on her partner while she was frantically call for help. hard to make that call because she was shot in the face. her words were barely audible after she was shot right there in the jaw. listen to this audio when she is trying to call for help. brian: gunman still on the run this morning. you would think this is afghanistan or iraq. what is going on? the reward for information leading to his arrest is now up to $200,000. but it really shouldn't come to that you know, i give the lapgd credit. because, as horribles that this is to hear, as terrible as it is to see, it is important for everybody around the country that says well, that's not my problem, to understand this is your problem. because if it's not kenosha, if it's not minneapolis, if it's not new york city, it is -- if it's not roch, new york. it is now los angeles. and it's time for people to understand the reality that the policemen and women are forced to deal with on a daily basis. here is alex of los angeles county sheriff, and he is talking about the reward. he is also talking about the activism in sports and says hey, it's time for you, men and women, who play games for a living, to go to bat for us. listen. >> this schal to lebron james. i want you to match that and that double that reward. i know you care about law enforcement. you expressed a very, very interesting statement about your perspective on race relations and on officer-involved shootings and the impact it has on the african-american community. i appreciate that. likewise, we need to appreciate the respect for life goes across professions, across races, creeds, i would like it see lebron james step up to the plate. brian: you know, that would be great. he has done a lot of great things. he is out in front on so many issues. he has made a huge difference. it would be great to see a blending of the causes. i would like to correct myself it's not lapgd. it's l.a. county sheriffs. steve: the sheriff says i will be very curious to see what his response is, if any. also, we are learning apparently the sheriff warned deputies of more possible attacks going forward and our own william la jeunesse, our reporter out in los angeles, says some l.a. police department members believe the ambush is in retaliation for recent police shootings of black suspects in los angeles. nonetheless, it comes down to something i have basic. where is a society if it does not have order? and in particular, law and order. the sheriff was with sean hannity last night. and he made that very clear. that we have got to be a nation of law and order. and without that, essentially, it's anarchy but, nonetheless, have you also got to have politicians on the same page. they got to support their men and women in uniform. here is the sheriff once again. >> anyone who is an influencer in society has an obligation to maintain law and order and to support law and order. i have heard some things from elected leaders, particularly at the local level that's just astonishing and they are just fanning the flames. pouring gas on the fire. and they are not bringing people together. they are further dividing people. it's reprehensible. i won't say this is the outcome of that; however, they are contributing to the narrative that there are always going to be that one person in the crowd that's going to take them at face value and they are going -- they will decide to take independent action on that. so, people need need to be responsible because words have consequences and this is a prime example of that. steve: do you know what? words do have consequences. it has been noted that the mayor of compton where the shooting happened, aishah brown has changed her tone because a couple weeks ago she said the sheriff's department deputies terrorize the community. the deputies terrorize the community. yesterday she said after the twolg deputies were shot. she said she was devastated to learn of the tragedy. so, you know, a little progress right there. ainsley: you know, lebron james says that black individuals have been terrified of police. so maybe that's what she meant by that these two officers were sitting in their car. they were there not terrorizing. they were there to protect. all the little children that are born in compton and playing in the streets and trying to go to school that's the jock of these police officers. many police officers say they feel forgotten. after 9/11 they felt so loved and they don't feel that love anymore. many of them don't want to put on their union formation because they're afraid that's going to happen to them and their life is going to forever be altered. we watched that video of the two officers being rushed to the emergency room and people are blocking the er and saying i hope they die. and these politicians, i understand what these officers and what the los angeles county sheriff is saying that politicians have an obligation to support law and order so that we don't have that' anarchy. listen to what other politicians have saying about. this the folks in law enforcement that share the goals of reimagining police. >> reimagining policing in the 21st century. >> rethinking and reimagining policing. >> community efforts to reimagine policing torgets reimagine policing. >> we have to reimagine what policing looks like. >> reimagining policing, reimagining our public safety. >> reimagine a citizen led approach. >> can you begin to reimagine law enforcement. >> reimagine public safety in this country. >> what can we do to reimagine public safety. >> reimagining public safety. >> to reimagine public safety. >> we must reimagine what public safety looks like. >> many of them have said reimagining like dismantling police departments. brian: of course. ainsley: we all go to work every day we are trying to put a roof over our children's heads and put clothes on their back and hopefully send them to college. that's what these officers are doing. of the woman who was shot in the face, she was a librarian a year ago. she went to the police academy and decided she wanted to be a police officer and support all the families and protect all the families that live in her district. and this is how she thanks. this is how she is repaid. >> monmouth did a poll how big is law and order. 65% say law and order and maintaining it is a major problem. no kidding. meanwhile, 11 minutes after the hour. let's go over to griff over in d.c. with me. hey, griff, have you been following both campaigns. >> yeah. good morning, brian, ainsley and steve. brian, good point about both campaigns now are moving around the country. biden is heading to florida today where he will try and regain lost ground with hispanic voters in the sunshine state. remember that poll, president trump closing in on hispanic voters there and the president continued by the way yesterday, pitcherring in that demographic. that key demographic in arizona. watch. it will. >> i have achieved more for hispanic americans in 47 months than joe biden has achieved in 47 years. it telling. >> this is biden at home in delaware didn't want to talk about law and order. instead blasting the president on climate change. >> give a climate arsonist four more years in the white house, why would anyone be surprised if we have more america ablaze? wildfires don't skip towns that voted a certain way. >> president trump wrapped his west coast swing in california where he awarded the distinct distinguished flying cross to seven members of the national guard who helped rescue 200 people from the ravaging wildfires. gavin newsom setting aside his differences in politics for a moment to thank the president for his support. >> i want to thank you and acknowledge the work that you've done to be immediate in terms of your response. this may be a record that the state has received in the will support as well as the major disaster declaration. >> the president attended wildfire briefing where the secretary of natural resources challenged the president on climate change. watch. >> it will start getting cooler. you just watch. >> i wish science agreed with you. >> i don't think science knows, actually. >> so the president heads to philly tonight for a town hall event. but first he will join you guys at 8:00 a.m. we will see what he has to say about all of these things from law and order to the california west coast swing. he has just returned to by the way today, this morning, he will be presiding over a major east diplomatic event. brian, ainsley, steve? president trump: well i know carl bernstein a little bit. he's a nut job. he's been a nut job for many years. he was the second wing. i don't have a lot of respect for either of them frankly but he was a total nut job, and i see him and he'll say anything. no matter what you did, liked to i'm doing a great deal with israel. israel, the uae, and bahrain, everyone said it was impossible. no matter what you do with some of the fake news, doesn't make any difference. this one is great. it's sort of interesting and i don't say this in a bragging way but i get nominated for the nobel peace prize last week on two different deals. the other was serbia, but i get nominated for that and in this case israel. it wasn't even on the nightly news. if can you imagine when obama was nominated, by the way he didn't do anything, he got it very quick and they couldn't even explain what he did which was a joke but when he got nominated it was all over the news. it's like very different standards, but carl bernstein is a dummy. he's a dumb guy, and woodward's book last night, i read it. it's like lightweight reading and he doesn't get it. when my policies turn out to be right, as they have with israel, we're going to have a lot of other countries joining us very soon by the way. they are all going to go in and then we'll have peace in the middle east and we're doing it through the back door. they've never thought of it before with all this talk, they never thought of it before, and we're getting accolades even the new york times and tom friet man said that's great. that's great. they gave us, i don't know you can't get a better review than they gave us on this day like what we've done here and with no death. we haven't had death that has not been fighting in fact we're bringing our troops back home from the ridiculous endless wars they are all coming home, and they should be home. it's enough. they've been there for 19 years. in afghanistan for 19 years it's ridiculous. steve: mr. president -- president trump: we're getting great accolades but the news doesn't cover it. the bernstein book was really boring. i have to tell you. steve: it was. president trump: and the woodward book and bernstein 's book, the guy can't write. but woodward's book to me was a very boring, it was a very boring, it was inaccurate. let's put it this way. no matter what you did it was going to be negative and i wanted to give it a shot. i didn't devote much time but i wanted to devote time. last time i didn't talk to him and it was a bad book. steve: do you regret it? president trump: well, last time i regretted it because i didn't talk to him once. i didn't talk to him one-time. steve: this time? president trump: this time, well i wanted to see if it could be done. the guys a democrat works with the washington post that tells you right there which is truly a i call it the , it's the , i guess you could say it's the flunky for amazon but works for the washington post, you know, all about the washington post. you don't get a break with them. but look, if you want to remain sane, just don't read it because what they do is disgraceful. what's happened to the news, what's happened to the media in this country is a terrible thing it's a shame, and it's really much of it is absolutely the enemy of the people and they see it and nobody said it like i say it but i say it loud and clear it's the enemy of the people whether it's the new york times, washington post, or the networks. think of it you get nominated for a nobel prize. steve: mr. president we're part of the press too are we the enemy of the people? president trump: no you're not i would say about 20% isn't. we don't have the enemy of the people all over fortunately but we have tremendous disparity you have tremendous unfairness in the press. i came up with a name long time ago it's the fake news media, and you have to live with it and one of the great things that i have, i have such a big social media presence, i can get around and get the word out and my presence too. i can do things that other people can't do, so, i get the word out, but the media is very very fair. the media is very corrupt actually. ainsley: so, let's talk about the hero, the la deputy that female she's 31 years old she was shot in the jaw. she put a tourniquet around her partner that they were both shot steve: ambushed. ainsley: it was all caught on camera and she put the tourniquet on her partner and tried to call for help it's not really audible but they got her message in and she was saying 998, she was calling for help because both officers were down and she was doing her best to save the high of her partner. she was a former librarian, a mother to a six-year-old child and she really just wanted to be a police officer. her dad was called and her dad said she is in stable condition but the leading investigative officer said by the grace of god both will pull through but will be life-altering for both of them. have you talked to her family and how do we fix this problem because it's something that's concerning to everyone in our country. do we need to go into these communities, do we need to send these officers and these chiefs of police into these communities to work with them? do we hire police officers within the communities to monitor their neighborhoods, what do we do? president trump: we have to get much tougher. we're getting weak and soft with a lot of the democrat-run cities and you're not seeing this. take a look at the cities, the top 10 are democrat-run, the top 25 are i think almost all democrat-run, and their policies are horrible. they've taken respect away from police officers. they've degraded them. they've fired them. you look at new york, they fired a tremendous number of police and crime is through the roof, but they fired them. they make it so that if you do, if you speak up, you end up los ing your pension, you end up losing your job, and they've taken what they do so well, like new york's finest. they endorsed me. chicago police just endorsed me. you know it's not easy for them to do, because of the leadership in the cities, but they endorsed me. new york endorsed me, so many endorsed me, texas, florida, ohio were endorsed by almost everybody. i can't imagine anybody endorsing biden with his views. i mean his views are death. he doesn't have any views. brian: he seems to be slowly coming around to it. yesterday you were on the west coast and you traveled the country and went to arizona but you sat there with governor newsom and listened to what the problem was and also he was thankful for all of the help you gave and as quick as you gave it i think it's great for the american people to see , two people who differ on taxes, and the environment, and other things, but get along personal ly, but here is the other thing i want to ask you. in 2009 you endorsed action on climate change, you committed clear the green new deal is too extreme. what is the right way to act, to react, to climate change within reason, without destroying the economy? if you did say and didn't notice even back then, there was something going on. president trump: well look, brian. you have forests all over the world. you don't have fires like you do in california. in europe, they have forest cities. you look at countries, austria and so many countries they live in the forest and they consider forest cities so many of them, and they don't have fires like this , and they have more explosive trees. they have trees that will catch easier, but they maintain their fire. they have an expression, they " thin the fuel." the fuel is what's on the ground the leave, the trees that fall, they are like a match stick, after 18 months if they are underground longer than 18 months, they are very explosive and they have to get rid of that stuff. brian: i think he agreed with you, didn't the governor agree with you on that and having said that -- president trump: he didn't originally when i first brought it up. and we've been working on that. brian: i just did follow-up on that. if you do think whether it's manmade or not if the climate is changing and the number one issue for people under 35 is climate change like it or not and in 2009 you were there saying i think something needs to be done. what is the right answer if the green new deal is too extreme? president trump: well you want to clean up your plants, clean-up your auto pollution, clean up a lot of things remember we have a little problem called other countries, and they don't follow suit. like china sends up tremendous filth into the air, and into our oceans by the way. india, likewise. russia, likewise. so we're doing all of this. we're one piece, but we're like 5% and you have other countries, these are massive countries, that have not done what they should be doing and so we can clean it up but you still have a lot of stuff because of places like china and frankly, russia and also india in particular, and they send very very dirty particulates up into the air and you talk about the carbon footprint, they do big numbers of the carbon footprint and so look what i want, i want absolutely immaculate clean water. i want clean air. i want perfect clean air and by the way, we have it. we have really good clean air. we have good clean water better than we had before. we have better than we had before. you know in carbon, we have less carbon now going up into the air than they had under under the obama administration. we do things a different way but we're doing a great job and we're not putting our businesses out of business. a lot of the things they want to do would put our businesses right out of business. we wouldn't be competitive as a country any more and there are people that don't care about that. they say that's okay. put everybody out of business. they really don't care. the green new deal is a farse. the green new deal would really cost $100 trillion that's more money than we could make in 100 years it's ridiculous and it would put us, our factories be pleased, our businesses be closed it's ridiculous you know that. steve: well mr. president whenever there's something in the news, joe biden does emerge from his compound to make a statement. he was in wilmington, delaware yesterday, super socially distanced. president trump: he's always in wilmington, delaware. steve: that's absolutely pretty accurate. he's out in an open field everybody is like 20 feet apart, very socially distanced. he had some harsh words for you, called you a climate arsonist and said this , as well. watch. >> this is another crisis, another crisis he won't take responsibility for. to give a climate arsonist four more years in the white house, why would anyone be surprised if we have more america blaze? if you have a climate denier four more years in the white house why anyone be surprised when more of america is under water, hurricanes don't swerve to avoid red states or blue states. wildfires don't skip towns that voted a certain way. the impacts of climate change don't pick and choose. steve: and you have commented on climate change, mr. president, but you know, just the optics of him finally leaving his house to go out and make a public statement, in the last week, i haven't counted your events but its been a lot. joe biden has only done a couple and i have heard some democrats criticize biden and the campaign in saying it looks like trump is out diabetes working us. is that your strategy right now, at this stage of the game, before the debates to just get out there and get everywhere while joe biden picks and chooses? president trump: well today we're doing the big event in a little while with israel, and that was something that was really special, but you look at biden. he's reading notes and he's reading teleprompters all the time and he doesn't read them well and during interviews he's doing interviews and i saw it two or three weeks ago i said i think he's reading a teleprompter and they are asking him a question and i watched and then when this guy gets asked about that he makes a fool out of himself and he can't answer the question because he knows it's true. steve: it was a yes or no question it would have been easy to answer. president trump: no i've never seen anything like it. nobody has. the man is shot let's face it. we can't have a man whose shot because you know whose not shot? putin, president xi, kim jong-un , they're not shot. they are world class chess players this guy is shot, everyone knows it and we can't lead an economy. look at our economy. we have a record stock market, another good day today. we have a record stock market, we have a record everything. we're back to where we were. the 401 (k)s, they'll crash with this guy. i mean he wants to raise interest rate, he wants to raise them very high, $4 trillion worth of interest rates, you lose every business you'll close down every business, you'll lose your jobs, people are going to be paying so much in taxes, he wants to raise taxes. he wants to see higher interest rates, he wants to see taxes where he's going to, he wants $4 trillion in tax increases, and you can't do that, steve, and brian and ainsley. you can't do tax he'll destroy this thing. we're going to have a great new year. now we're going to have a big number come out that's third quarter. it's going to be a very very extraordinary number it's going to be a record set erin all respects and maybe i'm wrong and i'll be very bad that i'm saying this but i know that's what with i do. you can have an incredible number coming out just before the election literally two days before the election, and i'd rest my hat on that. watch how good it's going to be and next year we're going to have a great year but if somebody comes in and raises taxes and lets interest rates go up to a much higher level, that be a disaster for this country. you know, we also borrow money. this was very bad because it took 3 trillion, maybe 4 trillion to settle the problem and i do believe we are rounding the turn, including without the vaccine, i think we're round ing the turn, with the vaccine it's going to be great, but to get this horrible curse off our back, we had to spend trillions of dollars and we've kept it going really well and we could use additional stimulus but nancy pelosi won't approve it, because she thinks it's bad for me and the election well, i think we're doing very well. i think it's bad for her not to approve it because everyone knows she's the one not approving it, but joe isn't equipped to be president. he's shot. ainsley: so we have less than two months until the election, and a lot of people are really excited to watch what's going to p ha in two weeks and that is the first debate. it's actually two weeks from today. it's in two tuesdays. how do you prepare for the debate, have you started your preparation? do you just memorize his voting record or do you do these mock debates and get people on your staff to stand behind the podium and act like joe biden? what do you do? president trump: well i sort of prepare every day by just doing what i'm doing. i was in california yesterday. i went to arizona, which is doing great by the way, the state is booming, and done a really good job with the virus too. it's down to very low. excellent governor, excellent in texas. i've been to texas over the last few days, i've been to louisiana , florida, i mean, i've been all over the place and i watch this guy sitting home and i say maybe i'm doing it wrong. do you know what maybe i'm doing it wrong, but he's got the press on his side. why i have no idea. somebody will have to explain you have a stock market crash if you got in. i tell you what we have a head wind as good as our stock market and that's good for people because everybody owns the stock s but as good as it is we have a head wind and that is if he ever got in the market will crash and that's a headwind the market would even be higher but we're setting new records and the stock market which is good for everybody. people are happy. we got this plague sent to us by china, courtesy of china which is a disgrace because they could have stopped it and they stopped it from going into china, but they didn't stop it to europe and to us and to the rest of the world and they should be ashamed of themselves. brian: on the debate, you have the experience of working with chris wallace's moderator you just did an hour with in had on fox news sunday and you have the experience of competing for the presidency against hillary clinton, right? first, set the scene. you know the style of chris wall ace, and now you're able to study what joe biden has been doing for 47 years. what's going to be the greatest challenge here? president trump: well i don't know which biden is going to show up because i watched him during the debates where they had 20 people on the stage and before they started calling it out, and i watched him, and he was a disaster. you don't get worse, he was grossly incompetent and then i watched him against bernie and he was okay. he wasn't winston churchill i can tell you that but he was fine. i said it was like an even debate, and so i said what did he do, so what happened to him all of a sudden because he was okay, and bernie was okay. it's an extraordinarily boring debate but he got through it and i said what's the difference between now and some of those classic moments in the other debates, and something was strange, in my opinion. i won't say what but a lot of people think that something happened and you can't do that kind of stuff. steve: well mr. president you have suggested that joe biden should take a drug test. president trump: i do. i would take one too. yeah, i would say he should take a drug test. steve: do you think he's taking some sort of drugs to pep him up president trump: i do. he's taking something. he's taking something or gives him some clarity or whatever. take a look at him -- steve: maybe it's a lot of coffee. president trump: yeah, maybe 15 cups of coffee. i tell you what i've seen him in the debate with the other people including kamala harris and nobody treated him worse than ka mala. he picked kamala and nobody called him worse, called him a racist and then he says i'm going to pick kamala and she has her own problems she went from 15 down to nothing she dropped out before they got to iowa so she, i think she's not a good choice and compared to mike pence whose been a great vice president, he's been a great vice president, and you guys know that very well, but no, i don't know. it's very strange. i think yeah, he should take a drug test. ainsley: so let's talk about the joe rogan, who has the biggest podcast in the country, and tim kennedy on our show a lot army ranger, he was a guest on the show and they were talking about another debate adding another debate and he tweets this out, tim does. on my podcast with joe rogan, he offered to moderate a debate between joe biden and the real donald trump, and it be four hours, with no live audience, just the two candidate, cameras and their vision of how to move this country forward. then he asks, who wants this? debate and election 2020 then you responded, i do. so, you've accepted that. joe biden no word on whether or not he be interested in doing that joe rogan debate. president trump: joe is lost. joe is lost. we can't have a president that's mentally lost. ainsley: you mean joe biden? i thought you meant joe rogan at first. joe biden. president trump: i'm talking about joe biden, yeah. i can take the gloves off because they put an ad on in the military where i'm standing over a grave and made up a sentence that i said and i never said it and i have 25 people that were there that said he never said that, and they made it up and then they made it, you know this phony atlantic magazine which is a radical left obama-friend magazine and they made up this horrible quote and nobody's been better to the military than me. i rebuilt the military. they are the greatest people. they had me saying a horrible thing over a grave. a grave that's been there for many many years, and i was with other people, and they know it's a phony story and yet they admitted it. they know it's a total tony story called disinformation. you make up a lie. they make up lies. they made up another one about social security that i'm against social security and i'm the one that saved it. they used to do the same thing last time. they said i'm going to destroy social security. i kept it. i haven't touched it. but they made it up the last time, so they'll make up a lie and go with it so these are vicious people, so it gives me the right to take the gloves off and hit joe because joe is easy to hit. but i would do it. i would do that, with joe rogan. i like joe rogan. i would do it with joe rogan but i think sleepy joe won't. b mr. president let's go back to the military for a second general mattis evidently has been critical of you as a leader in the bob woodward book which you said is boring, but is it true, you've taken strong actions against baghdadi and sou lemani, and isn't it true that after assad gassed children for the second time it was you that wanted to take him out and general mattis talked you out of it and if it is true do you regret not taking him out because he is a mass murderer? president trump: i would have rather taken him out. i had him all set. mattis didn't want to do it. mattis was a highly overrated general and i i let him go. he worked for obama and he got fired for obama also and i thought that was maybe just a fluke, maybe they had different views and he wanted the job very badly. i gave him the job. i didn't like in, i fired him and he was a terrible, to me, he was a terrible general and a bad leader and he wasn't doing the job with isis. he was not doing the job, in syria or iraq with respect to isis. i got rid of isis after he was gone. i did a great job and 100% of the caliphate got rid of them took out soulemani, took out the baghdadi founded isis he was trying to build it again after i wiped it out, and i said we have to fire him. he killed many many people. and soulemani likewise, soulemani was the biggest of them all. brian: do you regret not taking out assad, and was it because of russia being allied with them is why you didn't do it and do you regret not doing it? president trump: no i don't regret that. i could have lived either way with that. i considered him certainly not a good person, but i had a shot to take him out if i wanted and mattis was against it. mattis was against most of that stuff. he'd keep you in military but he didn't know how to win. he would keep you in military but he had no concept as to win. we've had tremendous progress since then if you look at what we've done with terrorists and many other terrorists also by the way that you don't know but with terrorists with all and with by the way rebuilding the military, we've completely rebuilt the military, $2.5 trillion, all made in the usa. our soldiers are now taken care of. our vet, you look at what we've done at the va, our vets are, they gave a 91% approval rating the other day, 91% has never been anywhere close to that high , when you got all sorts of things approved including accountability and including choice. obama had something approved it was so pathetic it didn't work. a weak form of choice. we had a very powerful form of choice, and our military has been great. they loved me and i love them but mattis was not a good leader he didn't know how to lead. he didn't have a concept. brian: mr. president, he is a great american, and he did give a lot to the country, you know that but you guys -- president trump: well i know him differently. see i know him as a person and i just didn't think he did a good job. i mean, i don't say he's a good american or a bad american. i just say he didn't do a good job i let him go, i told him give me a letter and i've got to find somebody else and when we've put together a team, that's when it happened, and we wiped out 100% of the isis caliphate and he wasn't doing his job. steve: okay, mr. president, you mentioned soulemani a couple of times you did take him out. on twitter you went on twitter an you said according to press courts iran may be planning an assassination or other attack against the united states in retaliation for killing terrorist leader soulemani. there are reports of a plot or perhaps plots to assassinate a u.s. ambassador or more than that. can you, you know, i know you know things that you don't want to talk about because they are classified. they are big secrets, but clearly the news about the potential assassination of a u.s. ambassador is out there. what else can you tell us about this plot? president trump: well, let me tell you before the plot, iran is doing unbelievably badly. when i was, when i first came into office they were, there were 18 sites of confliction they were in charge of all of them. they had $150 billion that was stupidly given by obama, i'll say obama as opposed to biden because he probably, who knows if he had anything to do. nobody has made worse decisions than joe biden, especially with foreign affair, so they were literally a power. now they're not a power. that doesn't mean they can't do little things but now they're not a power, they have no money, their gdp dropped 27%, 27% in a short period of time, and if i win, they'll be unhappy but they'll make a deal in the first month and they'll make a very good deal for us in the first month. obama made a horrible deal, israel would have been gone, israel would have been wiped off the face of the earth. obama made a terrible deal. i say obama-biden but let's say obama. he made a terrible deal, gave him $150 billion, gave him 1.8 billion in cash, brought over by plane loads of cash. 1.8 and it was a short-term deal it was just a short-term deal. it wasn't even a deal and we can never let them have a nuclear weapon because they are crazy. steve: mr. president, the plot -- president trump: as far as the lot i said it you didn't read the rest of the social media statement, but i said it. i said it very strongly. they'll pay a thousand times if they do anything to anybody and i might be in that category, but they'll be in that category too, and we're all set and if they do anything to anybody they will be hit a thousand times harder than they hit us. ainsley: so mr. president let's talk about you've mentioned a few times but we'd love to know more about this the signing ceremony at the white house today. what a historic moment bringing three of the largest religions in the world together for a peace deal, the abraham accord, named after the patriarch of all three of the biggest religions, muslim, islam and christianity and i know hundreds of people will be there, we've interviewed people that will be there to watch this historic moment and then you also said this is just the beginning. there will be future deals. what do you mean by that? president trump: well, we have a lot of countries that want to come in, so for years and years, these clowns that like to criticize me, well we disagree, we disagree, they never got anything, they never got anything done, they've been fighting for peace in the middle east and then when i came in i was told it was an impossible thing you could never get it donald we went around the other way instead of dealing with the palestinians we took the money away we used to give them 750 million and they treat us badly and i said why do they treat us badly and nobody ever did this. i took it away. they are going to make a deal, you watch but we started dealing with other people and everyone said this couldn't happen and we made a deal with the uae led by a man, mohammed whose a great leader, a great warrior and we made a deal with uae and then bahrain came in and we have many others going to be coming in over a short period of time, and the palestinians will ultimately come in too and you're going to have peace in the middle east without being stupid and shooting everybody, and killing everybody, and having blood all over the sand. so you'll have peace and we're getting tremendous, i must tell you tom friedman wrote a great piece in the new york times, it was a 12 on a scale of 10. new york times, of all i mean i must tell you i respected them for doing it because i didn't think they had it in their genes to be able to write good about me but they said that it's an unbelievable deal and a very important deal so we have two countries. we have many others that we're negotiating with right now and the palestinians will be brought in, because all of their supporters all of the people that give them lots of money are coming into the deal, so otherwise they will be left out in the cold. brian: mr. president the reason why is because there is no flip side to this. what you did is reestablish relations with israel, unlike the previous administration where they seem fractured and then you broke off relations with iran who are terrorist nation, and then the other nation said i see iran as a threat to and israel is not a threat. after they built some quiet trust, you asked them to come forward, and they have. president trump: that's right. brian: there's no flip side to this and that's why the new york times denies it. now are we at the point where you're willing to sell the same weapons to these other countries that you sell to israel? president trump: well, they are very wealthy countries for the most part. some are extraordinarily like uae and they would like to buy some fighter jets and i personally would have no problem with it. some people do, they say well maybe they go to war. we have, you know, selling our stuff is good for our country, in one way. brian: israel gets upset. president trump: you worry about military equipment you sell it today and it's obsolete tomorrow all of a sudden you'll say we have a new and better plane. no, i know the leader very well, mohammed. i with have no problem in selling him the f-35. i would have absolutely no problem. i view it as an asset not a liability. plus, it's tremendous jobs at home you're talking about a large number of planes. reasonably large number of plane s not the biggest. we're buying them by the hundreds. you know, we've stocked up our arsenal like nobody thought it was possible. when i took over, our military was so depleted, it was an embarrassment. we had 40-year-old planes. we had 50-year-old planes you know the story the grandfather flew it, the son flew it and the grandson flew it. the same exact plane. no, we have military now. they didn't spend money on the military. they gave up their money. they spent it on everything but the military. obama doesn't like the military and i can tell you biden doesn't like it. they fight me every time it's the hardest thing. to get things approved for the military they want all sorts of other things approved which does our country for the most part no good. steve: mr. president, john roberts who stands on your front lawn every day, he's got our phone number just like you do and he just texted, can you ask the president if his middle east strategy is to cut deals with arab countries to put pressure on the palestinians to come to the table? " in other words surround the palestinians with peace deals so they are the only ones not doing it. if john roberts was sitting right here he would have asked you that. president trump: well he's very good he's done a great job but he's got what it takes and yes you could say that certainly a piece of it. the ultimate piece is it's good for us to have. it's good for israel but certainly that's a piece of it. the palestinians are very difficult to deal with and we paid them a tremendous amount of money for many decades. we paid them money it was almost like hostage-type money. it was bribe money and it was foolish, and i took it away. a year and a half ago i said why are we paying when they say terrible things about it "death to america" and then we pay them $750 million, yes, it's a lot of money. we pay them all this money and they speak badly about us. i said i'm going to end the money let them know we're not paying it anymore. we didn't pay it anymore, but other countries would pay. other very rich countries would pay, but we don't pay it anymore let me tell you when we start getting the rest of the countries in, they will come to the table 100%. they are getting to a point where they want to make a deal. they won't say that outwardly. they want to make a deal and i'll tell you who else wants to make a deal, iran wants to make a deal. if i win they are hoping that biden gets in, and china is hoping that biden gets in. russia, probably. they want biden because look, nobody has been tougher to russia than me, nobody, with the pipeline, with our big military, we've become the number one energy country in the world, we're more than, totally energy-independent now. what i've done with russia and remember, obama gave them pillow s and i gave them hank busters there's a big difference with ukraine so russia would like, i think russia would like it too but here is the thing. they want to wait until after this election, because there's nobody in the world that china would rather negotiate than sleepy joe. i've taken in billions of dollars. take a look at what obama did with china. they gave our country away. they were giving our country away. if they got in, if this crew got in, the same basic crew, but they've gone far left much further left than they ever were that's why it's the most important election that we've ever had. if they ever got in, china would own the usa. china would own them. the other thing is iran. iran really wants, maybe as much as china, but they have to give it a shot. you know, john kerry has been telling them oh, wait until after the election because maybe you'll deal with biden instead of trump. well, there's no way they are ever going to have a nuclear weapon and biden would probably give them that right and they're ready to make a deal and doing so badly with their gdp went so far down nobody has ever seen anything like it. i think it's a record, and when i took over, that was a powerful , wealthy nation. now, because of all of the sanctions and everything else, they are dying to make a deal but they want to see what happens in the election. i say you should wait. why don't you wait and see what happens in the election. we'll have a deal with iran within one month and a really good deal for the united states, because they have no because. but if biden got in, they'll all , they will just take our guts out. steve: yup. mr. president, i think you've broke a lot of news this morning thank you very much for starting your day with fox & friends. ainsley: thank you. president trump: okay trump joining us for a wide ranging interview just moments ago. griff jenkins is live in washington with the highlights. griff: yeah you guys this is quite the task if with edo it every week because the president made a lot of news there starting with the mid-east peace signing he has at the white house the fact he says if he's re-elected within one month iran would do a deal let alone the mention of bringing the palestinians to the table, i'm sure we'll have more in the next few hours, but really, when you, steve, pressed president trump on bob woodward and why he sat down, to talk for 18 conversations that was very fascinating, here is what the president said, addressing it whether he had regret, listen president trump: last time i didn't talk to him, and it was a bad book. this time, i talked well i wanted to see if it could be done. the guys a negative, the guys a democrat works with the washington post. that tells you right there, which is truly i call it it's the i guess you could say it's the flunkie for amazon. griff: the president also addressing two big stories of the day of course hurricane sally bearing down on the gulf coast and he praised all of the first responders and on law and order in that tragic story of the la sheriff's deputies being shot here is what he had to say. president trump: we have to get much tougher. we're getting weak and soft, their policies are horrible they've taken respect away from police officers, they've degrad ed them. you look at new york they fired a tremendous number of police and crime is through the roof but they fired them. i can't imagine anybody endorsing biden with his views. i mean, his views are death. griff: speaking of biden we got a bit of a preview for the upcoming first debate on september 29. the president weighing in on how he's preparing and what he expects, here is what he said. president trump: i don't know which biden is going to show up because i watched him during the debates where they had 20 people on the stage and before they started calling it out, and i watched him and he was a disaster. you don't get worse. he was grossly in competent and then i watched him against bernie he was okay, he wasn't winston churchill but he was okay. griff: so, a quite wide ranging interview you guys did, and perhaps, he made some news too, brian when you asked him about whether or not he regretted taking out assad, perhaps we'll get more later meanwhile, guys? good job. brian: not taking out assad. thank, griff great job great recap seven minutes before the top of the hour let's bring in molly hemmingway senior editor for the federalist. molly clearly the president has had a chance to go through the woodward book which was front and center over the weekend and says it's kind of boring do you believe him? reporter: well, i was expecting there be many more news drops coming out of that book, throughout last week and into this week, and there really haven't been. they just had that first story saying that donald trump knew how bad the pandemic was, but attempted to calm people by being optimistic and that seems thus far all its been, so maybe he's right. steve: so molly what was your headline out of this 47 minute chat with the president? reporter: well it was very substantive to talk about various domestic and foreign policy achievements i really thought that the discussion of his approach to foreign policy was the most interesting, in part because if biden were to be elected it would really dramatically take things back to the way they were not just during the obama presidency but for several presidencies previous to that president trump was emphasizing that under him, you get peace deals and an end to ridiculous wars, that when people behave against us, they will be met with force, much more than they came with, saying if i ran even tried to do something they be met with 1,000 times the response, if they were to do such a thing but talking about how a lot of time, people think the military is just the right answer to everything, without thinking through how to get through a war, accomplish your objectives and then get people home. and so this is usually presidents when they are running for re-election they actually it's almost a cliche they start a war to rally around the flag. president trump might be the first person to instead have a breakout of peace in the middle east. ainsley: real quickly mollie, did you disagree with him on anything? >> well it was, he has his own way of talking about everything, but i do think it's important that people particularly with the change in campaign style, that we hear a lot from both president trump and former vice president biden, because of their inability to campaign and so i think the more that both candidates can be out there answering questions, telling us how they differ, be helpful. brian: right, not too sure about joe biden on drugs i couldn't see that, but we'll see what happens in the debate in a couple weeks, mollie sadly we have to run, mollie hemming way, more fox & friends in just a moment. from prom dresses... ...to soccer practices... ...and new adventures. you hope the more you give the less they'll miss. but even if your teen was vaccinated against meningitis in the past... they may be missing vaccination for meningitis b. let's help protect them together. because missing menb vaccination could mean missing out on a whole lot more. ask your doctor if your teen is missing meningitis b vaccination. >> thank you for joining us today. set your dvrs for 6:00 a.m. every morning and listen to brian's radio show. >> sandra: fox news alert now. hurricane sally closing in on the gulf coast at this hour. the slow moving storm is expected to make landfall by midday tomorrow as louisiana, alabama and mississippi brace for potentially life threatening storm surge, high winds and severe flooding. i'm sand are smith. hi, trace. >> trace: i'm trace gallagher. tornadoes are also a very real possibility with some areas already seeing heavy rain, rough surf and flooding. as the outer bands lash the gulf coast mandatory evacuations are now underway. >> sandra: president trump says he is closely monitoring the storm as state
