0 the mideast bureau. >> the war drones are louder and louder. they believe that the syrian regime used chemical weapons and stopped short of calling for unlateral military action and thought that it should go to the united nation. syria is only left with russia and iran. syria said show us prove of chemical weapons attack. they are not out today. they are still stuck in the hotel. they took tissue samples and able to get soil samples yesterday. whether that proves anything is beside the point. the u.s. and allies have all of the proof they need. here in israel there is panic about what a possibility on syria could mean. they are planning on assad making good on the promise to an attack on syria is getting mixed reaction. we better be ready for what comes after the missiles hit if they do. they spoke to the u.s. ambassador to the united nations and asking her about the u.s. response. >> where are we on syria and address the concern that not enough is being done. >> we are continuing to consult our allies and partners on the appropriate response in light of the chemical attack in syria >> how is that coming along? >> making progress. >> author of the hell or rich man. >> and what do you make of the fact that we heard so much of the decision making with the syria and un. and now the u.s. taking a more prominent role, is it too late? >> the time of intervention and make a positive difference was two years ago before al-qaeda took over the opposition to assad. and right now, honest to god, shannon, i don't know of a single person that thinks that syria is a remotely a good idea or any positive benefit for our national security. this is about president obama shooting off his mouth about redlines and painting himself in a corner and now wants to restore his credibility. how much danger to the united states is it worth to try to restore the president's credibility? >> i don't know. i don't want samantha power determining the military policy of the united states. and two, this is vital, you want to launch cruise missiles and get off cheap like bill clinton can and turn up the dirt and what is the plan next. our failing under the bush administration and obama administration has been the failure to anticipate consequences and plan. it is not enough to go to baghdad. it is not enough to depose gha d da fi. you have to plan for what comes next. suppose the president decided on serious military strikes that weakened the assad regime. it collapses and then the al-qaeda and other islamic extremist grab the city of damascus, one of the three most important in the arab world. then what does the president do? i don't see any extra teggic interest of the united states in syria i want our president to tell me how this benefits all of us americans? >> well, what is the u.s. interest there? is it a bigger question of a moral imperative to act when i am quoting here. gun violence raised epidemic porportions and woo can't tolerate the ongoing social and economic costs of inaction. critics do not believe the bill will pass but they will lobby against it admentally. and the anti- gun interest can't ban they want to tax out of existence. and the amendment by the way will be voted on when the house readjourns for the fall session and experts say unleakly this will pass, but the two democratic congressman are willing to give it a shot anyway. >> they are going to be very busy. trace, thank you very much. we'll see where this winds up. >> attorney general eric holder suing the state of lewisville, why? to block a plan to give families more choice of where their kids go to school. we'll see why it is so popular in louisiana and the attorney general is seeing it never happens. >> and asking the state of the florida to cover the legal fees. why is that a real possibility despite the controversy despite his case. >> we are hearing a rodeo clown when he mocked president obama and why he found the controversy so surprising. >> i had someone threat eping me over. the clown bit has been around for generations and i didn't think anymore of it with what we did 10, 15, 5 years ago and we did it with bush and ronald reagan and clinton. let's play: [ all ] who's new in the fridge! i help support bones...
