not because he can manage, but because he's not donald trump. joining me south dakota governor christie nome who may be a candidate herself. your thought on what the president said this week. >> i think this video was weird and depressing. you talked about him being all in. i am not sure he's all in. if he's all in, then america needs to wake up. typically you would have excitement around an announcement like that. you would do rallies and see people cheering you on. instead the rest of the country went, all right, then. and they start thinking what happens if if this guy doesn't make it another four years, the worst alternative would be be kamala as president. i think we have a lot of opportunity for republicans to cast a vision, to talk about what does make america great. what about our foundation keeps us stable and how we can wrap our arms around it and continue to insp expire people. brian: i wonder if the people will demand that he come out and campaign. is he going to stay in the white house and use surrogates? will he use zucker bucks? >> this clearly shows their whole strategy will be to destroy everybody else. to burn everybody else to the ground and try to make him an okay person who can stand up there and be manipulated by staff and run by the democratic party and be okay with that because they will demonize everything else in this race. america is about a vision. we need a reagan communicator back who can talk about what is special about america. people are suffering in many states across the country because of socialist policies coming out of this white house. i believe before this presidential election people will wake up to that. brian: the blueprint is this, have joe be a place holder and move on. if he thought kamala harris was ready he wouldn't be running again. but here is kamala harris being kamala harris for the last two years. >> for us at he moment in time and certainly this one, to seize the moment in time in which we exist in our present. south korea and the united states as the secretary mentioned share strong cultural and people to people ties, swig and k-pop dance. they top the billboards in the united states. brian: that's a little of thed a -- thead-libs we have gotten u. the a.p. talking about certain store questions. harris faces new test in political skills in 2024. joe biden's victory may depend on kamala harris' poll numbers. we hear how she loves foreign policy and just can't get enough offed world events and how much world leaders are attracted to her, especially when she was at the munich conference. do you think the marketing can sell america on kamala after 2 1/2 years? >> if you are asking me, i don't think so. she has no knowledge of policy. 99% of my job as governor was study, research, work, debate, policy. behind the scenes work. she stands up and gives speeches somebody else wrote for her and she expect her to be a person who has wise and has discernment and can come into a decision on what's best for the american people. if anything she has gotten worse in the last two years. she is up in her head and full of anxiety and can't do the job. brian: ron klain says you are sexist and racist if you don't understand what she is saying most of the time. >> i think they give out gold stars in the white house if you can refer to sexism and race i.10 times a day. the fact of the matter is she is just really bad. nobody could listen to her and not know she isn't putting the work in. brian: when are you going to decide if you are running? >> i don't think so. there is those that say this is unnecessarily punitive by a conservative governor. disney had a special privilege. it's not that a right was taken away. this was a privilege that was extended to disney. i think it's a privilege you sacrifice if you cross the line into being a political advocacy group. brian: obama shows to go with the workman and woman. mike rowe is talking about going after the people and find out what motivates them. let's take a look at the trailer. >> a revolution happening right before our eyes. artificial intelligence, remote work. what do people from three different industries think? what makes a good job good? brian: what do you think, will? >> i think it looks like an interesting topic. i have nothing critical to say about president barack obama from what i have seen so far. we have conversations often, commercial breaks and after the show. one of the things you said to me on numerous occasions, we put way too much stock on finding our purpose through our job. i think it's important. but there are other places to find our purpose, our family and faith. pete require's a good idea what a good politician he was. how he connected with people. there aren't many people who can talk about what it's like to work as a store clerk. there will be an agenda buried in there. brian: there is pride in work and virtue in work. will: but there is income inequality because of the maga republicans. brian: i'm first to say i don't have all the answers. but i often use sports as an analogy. one of the most interesting post-game comments, the greek freak giannis obviously disappointed. but here is how he characterized this crushing loss. >> do you see the season as a failure? my next guest is the author of when race trumps merit. seeing bill maher say that, what does that say to you? >> i hope it says we are going to start speaking the truth and stop being cowed by the phoney charge of racism. every time we talk about crime the "new york times" will say you are doing a racist dog whistle. no, we are talking about black victims. i am not scared of the racism charge. brian: when this is brought up, the cops are usually the ones who are told they have a problem. >> you cannot fight crime without having a disparate effect on black criminals. that's where crime is happening in inner city neighborhoods. every day dozens of blacks are killed. that's more and -- that's more than hispanic and whites combined. who is killing them? not the police, but other blacks. they are not getting the protection they deserve. there are people who vote for anti-cop candidate. but when the cops back off and you don't have families socializing young males, cops are the only hope they have to live free from fear. brian: when you study this, how are people dealing with you on that? did people come back on you as if you are the problem. >> one is called a racist if you care about black victims. the black lives matter activists have not said the names of the dozens of kids killed every year in their beds, front preaches and yards. brian: schools are ditching homework and deadlines in favor of equitable grading. they want to make sure our kids don't feel bad if they are not doing well. how does this play into the narrative. >> everything today is driven by race stars our attack on standards. the reason we are lowering standards and getting rid of gifted and talented programs is because blacks don't score well on tests. 66% of black 12th graders don't have basic math skills like arithmetic or reading a graph. you cannot have merit standards. brian: the lower the standards which hurts everybody. >> meet the standard, don't lower the standards. you cannthey are telling if youe they are going to lower merit standards. that's true in medicine and science and we should be worried. brian: how does it affect the asian community?
