Lot of news to get to. As we wait for the president right now, were going to keep the live pictures up. I want to bring in connell mcshane, live for us in brentwood new york, hes going to tell us how the president is going to defeat ms13 once and for all. Reporter as we wait for the president to arrive, he should be here momentarily at Suffolk Community college. Does give him a chance to speak about issues near and dear when he was a candidate and even in the early days of the administration, his illegal immigration, combining that with Violent Crime, and ms13 and speaking to the local officials, and even to congressman peter king, who accompanied the president on the trip is the most violent of violent street gangs. Linked to 17 murders in this area. Brentwood is where we are, Central Islip thats been hit so hard. So thats the Violent Crime part of it. When you think illegal immigration, the gang has roots in el salvador. The attorney general Jeff Sessions was there yesterday working with local authorities, so the president is expected to talk about what the federal government can do to prevent people affiliated with the gang from coming in here in the first place and arresting and deporting the people who have committed crimes affiliated with the gang once they do get here. Thats what we expect. A couple of things to keep in mind, across the street from here, a group of protesters. Our fox news producer Patrick Manning tells us a number of 500 have gathered expressing displeasure with the president S Immigration policies. There are 50 or 60 Trump Supporters across the street as well. Once he comes in here, its a friendly audience of invited guests only, and local Law Enforcement officials, cheryls from Suffolk County at neighboring areas working on the issue, and the president no doubt will talk about how to combine the work of the federal authorities with the local government. The program itself is just about to start here as the head of i. C. E. Is about to speak. We expect to hear from congressman king as well and then the president. You brought up a good point. Will he go offscript . Thats anybodys guess. What ive outlined is what we expect. So well see. Stand by, if you will, i know things are starting to kick in now and monitoring the live pictures. We will go to the president live when he does eventually come to that podium. We know hes landed in the area, as you mentioned there. I want to bring in right now for further analysis, my panel. Former u. S. Army Intelligence Officer andrew peak in our new york studio and majority ceo ned ryun, he is here as well, and i also want to bring in Pablo Manriquez. Good to see you. Good to see you, cheryl. Hes going to deliver his message. He may or may not stay on script. Theres nothing wrong with getting rid of the bad guys, this is a horrific gang, roots in el salvador, very violent, but you have political pushback against what the president is going want to to do and what he announces today. Absolutely, thats why this is a good debate to have. I think the attack on ms13 and pushing back against the Violent Crimes it commits is the weak underbelly of the open borders crowd, the folks who want more and more illegal immigration from the south because ms13 and other criminal gangs feed off that kind of crime. You know, its interesting, you cant ignore the politics in all of this, in this politically charged environment, if you will, after what happened in front of the boy scouts and the political fallout from that, you have to wonder if the president is going to really stick to message, its an important message, a very Violent Group were talking about, ned. It is, i would add when donald trump sticks to his script, he with he can be a very powerful communicator. This is low hanging fruit, when you talk about violent criminals and illegal immigration. As you saw news out of the house yesterday where paul ryan and the house approved 1. 6 billion towards the border wall. Its a good time to be hitting the theme as well. But i do hope he talks about other things as well, beyond immigration, i hope he does take congress to task over failure to health care. I hope he does Start Talking today about moving onto tax reform and putting the onus on these hill republicans to say, hey, im doing what i can, im fulfilling my campaign promises, but we cannot be fully successful unless you join me. I hope he sticks on mainly the topic in talking about immigration, but i hope he takes the opportunity to hit the hill republicans and say get your acts together, start to govern, if we govern, we can have major victories. Pablo, the group were looking at, the director of i. C. E. Speaking and see congressman peter king from new york, this is his district. Once we see the president , hes talking about something to an invite only audience that is very close to their hearts. That, of course, is illegal immigration, crime and the gang members. At the same time, pablo, outside forces those in particular along the southern border, in texas, they are very against the wall. Theyre going to have a lot to say about this. If youre an american resident of any city in america now, not just the cities on the border. The outside force you need to worry about is the one thats coming from washington, the acting director thomas homan of i. C. E. Proposed a local government takeover of local police responsibilities. Hes telling local police they need to do immigration and Customs Enforcements job. The guy is shameless. Hes been in the game 34 years, the beltway bureaucrat for immigrations and Customs Enforcement. He knows how to talk about it he can get away with whatever he wants to. Trumps given him a wide berth and Jeff Sessions opened up a legislative, hes part of the legislative seas so homan whether or not they are affiliated with the ms13. Were going to talk a lot about ms13. Thats a matter of opinion and getting off the subject, which is, again, protect american citizens. Right. We want to say, and i want to bring in andrew into, this what we expect the president to talk about today is the wall, whether thats an electronic or physical wall, thats a debatable topic, but more Immigration Judges, 10,000 i. C. E. Officers hired. You are seeing kates law come into effect. Kate steinle murdered by an illegal immigrant who was deported number of times. I hear what pablo is saying, in general that makes sense, the reason you have so much washington encroachment is local Law Enforcement on this issue is that local authorities particularly sanctuary cities have subverted federal Immigration Law for years, and unfortunately, you cant fight ms13 when its constantly being replenished by the illegal immigration, the networks. Not only does it provide more recruits from el salvador and other places but ms13 and other criminal organizations profit by the Illicit Networks tied up in drugs and guns and smuggling other contraband. True. Quick, paul, tonight say the motto for the gang it is kill, rape and control. This is a very evil group that is responsible for 17 murders in long aisle, and spread across the country, pablo, and youre saying we shouldnt be doing anything about this . Pablo, im so sorry, im so sorry, lets talk on the other side of this. I want to go ahead and listen in, sorry, sir, we have President Trump now, of course, approaching the podium, and again to reiterate, well talk to our panel after the president is over, guys. I appreciate you staying with me. Again, making a major policy announcement when it comes to immigration. We expect him to talk about hiring more officers, about the wall and other things related to keeping our country safe. The president. Thank you. [cheers and applause] usa usa usa usa usa . Well, thank you very much, this is certainly being home for me, spent a lot of time right here, id come to queens and this was like the luxury location for me. I love it, i love the people here. Even coming in from the airport, i sat with nikki haley who is here someplace. Ambassador nikki haley, who is so incredible. And shes seen crowds in her life and said boy, those are really big crowds, crowds of people lining the streets all the way over to here, and its really a special place. When i heard about this, i said i want to do that one but really wanted to do it not because of location, but because, as you know, i am the big, big believer and admirer of the people in Law Enforcement, okay . From day one. From day one. [cheers and applause] we love our police. We love our sheriffs. And we love our i. C. E. Officers. They have been working hard. [applause] thank you. They have been working hard. Together were going to restore safety to our streets and peace to our communities and were going to destroy the vile criminal cartel ms13 and many other gangs, but ms13 is particularly violent. They dont like shooting people pause its too quick, its too fast. I was reading one of these animals was caught and explaining they like to knife them and cut them and let them die slowly because that way its more painful, and they enjoy watching that much more. These are animals. Were joined today by police and sheriffs from suffolk, nassau, duchess and ulster counties. State police from new york and new jersey. Many of you i know. Great friends. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and Law Enforcement personnel from a number of federal agencies. So were loaded up with great people, thats what i call it. And i want to just tell you altogether right now, and the reason i came, this is the most important sentence to me, on behalf of the American People, i want to say thank you. Thank you very much. [applause] thank you. [applause] and i dont think you know how much the public respects and admires you. Youre saving american lives every day, and we have your back, believe me, we have your backs, 100 . Not like the old days. Not like the old days. [cheers and applause] you know when you want to take over, use military equipment, they were saying you couldnt do it, you know what i said . That was my first day. You can do it. In fact, that stuff is disappearing so fast, we have none left. [laughter] you guys knew how to get that, but thats my honor, and its being put to good use. I especially want to thank i. C. E. Director tom holman who has done an incredible job in just a short period of time. Tom, get up here. Tom is determined to rid our nation of cartels who are preying on our citizens. Keep up the great work, hes a tough guy, a tough cookie. Some were interviewed after that, they said, he looks very nasty, he looks mean. I said thats what im looking for. [laughter] thats exactly what i was looking for, and for they want to congratulate john kelly who has done an incredible job of secretary of homeland security. Incredible. One of our real stars. Truly one of our stars. [applause] john kelly one of our great stars. You know the border is down 78 . Under past administrations, the border didnt go down, it went up. If the body went down 1 , it was a great thing. Down 78 . And, in fact, the southern border of mexico, we did them a big favor, believe me, they get very little traffic anymore because they know theyre not going to get through the border of the United States. That whole group is incredible led by general kelly. Let me also express our gratitude to the members of the new york delegation here today. Congressman chris collins, where is chris . Wheres chris . Right from the beginning, he said trump is going to win. Trump is going to win. Thats why i like him. [laughter] i didnt like him that much before. Now i love him. [applause] dan donovan. Thanks, dan. Thank you, dan. [applause] and lee zeldin, who i supported right from the beginning. When they said he doesnt have a chance of beating a pretty popular incumbent. [applause] and i saw him in a debate, i said i think this guys going to win. He fought a pretty popular guys, and i said i think hes going to win, wasnt heavy for him and he won. You won easily. Pretty good. Im proud of you. Good job. And, of course, a legend, somebody we all know very well, sort of my neighbor because i consider him a neighbor, but hes really a great and highly respected man in washington, congressman peter king. Peter . [applause] very respected guy. He is a respected man that people like to ask opinions of. I do. Congressman king and his colleagues know the terrible pain and violence ms13 has inflicted upon this community and this country. And if you remember just a little more than two years ago when i came down the escalator with melania and i made the speech, people coming into this country. What does he know . Whats he talking about, and there was bedlam, remember bedlam. Two months later they said hes right. Im honored to have brought it to everybodys attention, but the suffering and the pain we were going through and can you look at the numbers, a whole different world, and it will get better and better and better because weve been able to start nipping it in the bud. Weve nipped it in the bud, lets call it start nipping it in the bud. And ms13, the cartel, has spread gruesome bloodshed throughout the United States, weve gotten a lot of them out of here. Big, big percentage, but the rest are coming, theyll be out of here quickly, right . Quickly. Good. [applause] so i asked tom on the plane. He was never in air force one, i said how do you like it . He said i like it. Tom, let me ask you a question, how tough of these guys, ms13 . He said theyre nothing compared to my guy. Nothing. Thats what you need. Sometimes thats what you need, right . For many years, they exploited americas weak borders and lackS Immigration enforcement to bring drugs and violence to cities and towns all across america. Theyre there right now because of weak political leadership, weak leadership, weak policing, and in many cases because the police werent allowed to do their job, ive met police that are great police that arent allowed to do their job because they have a pathetic mayor or the mayor doesnt know whats going on. [applause] were you applauding for someone in particular . [laughter] its sad. Its sad. You look at whats happening. Its sad. But hopefully, certainly in the country, those days are over. You may have a little bit longer to wait. But from now on, were going to enforce our laws, protect our borders, and support our police like our police have never been supported before. Were going to support you like youve never been supported before. [applause] few communities have suffered worse the the hands of these ms13 thugs than the people of long island. Hard to believe, i grew up on long island. I didnt know about this. I didnt know about this, and then all of a sudden, this is like a new phenomena. Our hearts and our nation grieve for the victims and their families. Since january 16th, think of this, ms13 gang members have brutally murdered 17 beautiful young lives in this area on long island alone. Think of it. They butchered those little girls, they kidnap, they extort, they rape and they rob, they prey on children, they shouldnt be here, they stomp on their victims, they beat them with clubs, they slash them with machete, and they stab them with knives. They have transformed peaceful parks and beautiful quiet neighborhoods into bloodstained killing fields. Theyre animals. We cannot tolerate as a society the spilling of innocent, young, wonderful, vibrant people, sons and daughters. Even husbands and wives. We cannot accept this violence one day more. Cant do it. And were not going to do it, because of you, were not going to be able to do it. Youre not going to allow it to happen, and were backing you up 100 . Remember that. 100 . [applause] it is the policy of this administration to dismantle, decimate and eradicate ms13 at every other, and i have to say, ms13, thats a name, rough groups, thats fine. Weve got a lot of others, and theyre all led in here over a relatively short period of time. Not during my period of time, believe me, but were getting them out. Theyre going to jails, and then theyre going back to their country, or theyre going back to their country, period. One by one, were liberating our american towns, you can believe im saying that, talk about liberating our towns. Like seeing the movie, theyre liberating the town, like in the old wild west, right . Were liberating our towns. I never thought id be standing up here talking about liberating the towns on long island where i grew up, but thats what youre doing, and i can tell you, i saw some photos where toms guys, rough guys, theyre rough. I dont want to be i dont want to be say, it because theyll say thats not politically correct, youre not allowed to have rough people doing this work. Just like they dont want to have rich people at the head of treasury, okay . [laughter] like i want a rich guy at the head of treasury, right . Right . [applause] i want a rich guy at the head of commerce because weve been screwed so badly on trade deals, i want people who made a lot of money now to be the leader of our country. As i was walking away, they gave meet numbers. Our numbers just came out this morning. Gdp is up double from what it was in the first quarter. [cheers and applause] 2. 6 . Were doing well. Were doing really well, and took off all those restrictions and some were statutorily stuck with, but the stuff comes up and weve sort of liberated the world of creating jobs like youre liberating us and the people that live in areas. But i have to say one by one, we are indeed freeing up these Great American towns and cities that are under siege from gang violence. Look at los angeles, look whats going on in los angeles. Look at chicago. What is going on . Is anybody here from chicago . We have to send some of to you chicago, i think. [laughter] whats going on . I mean do you see whats happening there . Do we agree . Is there something maybe is there something [applause] i have to tell you one chicago story. So chicago is having this unbelievable violence. People being killed, 4, 5, 6 in a weekend, and im saying what is going on . When i was running, we had motorcycle brigades take us to the planes and stuff, and one of the guys, really good, you could see a really respected police officer, he was at the head, he was the boss, and you could see he was the boss. He talked like the boss. Come on, line up, i always take pictures with the police. My people say dont do it, dont do it. [applause] other candidates didnt do it that i was beating by 40 points, you can believe it . Maybe thats why i was winning by 40 points. I always took pictures with the police. Were in chicago and have massive motorcycle brigades and those people have to volunteer, i dont know if you know that, from what i understand, they have to volunteer and i have the biggest brigades. I have brigades almost 300 motorcycles. Even i was impressed. Id look ahead and there was nothing but motorcycles. Volunteers from all of the various states. One guy was a rough cookie and a really respected guy, i could see he was respected. Get over here, get over here, hes got to get to work, get over here. I said let me tell you, youre from chicago . Yes, sir. I said what the hell is going on . He said its a problem that can be straightened out. I said how long would it take you to straighten out this problem . He said, if you gave me the authority, a couple of days. [laughter] i really mean it. I said you really think so . A couple of days. We know all the bad ones. We know them all. The officers, you guys, you know all the bad ones in your area. You know them by your names. I said we know them all. Couple of days. I said you got to be kidding. This is a year and a half ago, i said give me your card, and he gave me a card and i sent it to the mayor. I said you ought to try using this guy. [laughter] guess what happens . Never heard. And last week they had another record. Its horrible. But were just getting started. We will restore law and order on long island. Well bring back justice to the United States. Im very happy to have gotten a great, great justice of the United States supreme court, not only nominated but approved. And by the way, your 2nd amendment is safe. [applause] your 2nd amendment is safe. Feel very good about that. Wasnt looking so good for the 2nd amendment, huh . Trump doesnt win, your 2nd amendment is gone. Your 2nd amendment would be gone. I have a simple message today for every gang member and criminal alien that are threatening so violently our people. We will find you. We will arrest you. We will jail you. And we will deport you. [cheers and applause] and you know we had problems with certain countries. Still do with a couple, well take care of them, dont worry about it. Any time we have a trade deficit, its very easy, which is almost everywhere, we have trade deficits with almost every country, because we had a lot of really bad negotiators making deals with other countries. Almost everywhere, that takes care of itself. We had certain countries in south america where they wouldnt take the people back. I said thats okay, no more trade. All of a sudden they started taking their people back, amazing, isnt it . They used to send to the former secretary of state of the country, please call, would you work it . And they used to tell her no. We wont take back. They take back with us. Every single time. Were having very little problem, are we having any problem right now with that . You Better Believe it. Give me the names of a few problems, well take care of it. Im telling you. Its unbelievable. [applause] one of the old people, one of the people that represented the other administration, i said why didnt you use that, the power of economics . Sir, we think one thing has nothing do with another. I said really . Well have big deficits and they wont take back the criminals that came from there and should be back there . Believe me, to me, everything matters and theyre all taking them back. I. C. E. Officers recently conducted the largest crackdown on criminal gangs in the history of our country. In just six weeks, i. C. E. And our Law Enforcement partners arrested nearly 1400 suspects and seized more than 200 illegal firearms and some beauties and nearly 600 pounds of narcotics. The men and women of i. C. E. Are turning the tide in the battle against ms13, but we need more resources from congress, and were getting them. Congress is actually opening up and really doing a job. They should have approved health care last night, but you cant have everything. Boy, oh, boy, theyve been working on that one for seven years. Can you believe it . The swamp. Well get it done. I said from the beginning, let obamacare implode, and then do it. I turned out to be right. Let obamacare implode. [applause] right now we have less than 6,000 enforcement and removal officers in i. C. E. This is not enough to protect a nation of more than 320 million people. Its essential that Congress Fund another 10,000 i. C. E. Officers, and were asking for that, so we can eliminate ms13 and root out the criminal cartels from our country. Were getting them out anyway, but like to get them out a lot faster, and when you see these towns and thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon, you see them thrown in, rough. I said please dont be too nice. Like when you guys put somebody in the car and protecting their head, you know . The way you put your hand . [laughter] like dont hit their head, and theyve killed somebody, dont hit their head. I say you can take the hand away, okay . [cheers and applause] its essential that Congress Fund hundreds more federal Immigration Judges and prosecutors and we need them quickly, quickly. And were going to dismantle these deadly network, and i have to tell you, you know, the laws are so horrendously stacked against us because for years and years weve been made to protect the criminal. Totally made to protect the criminal. Not the officers. You do something wrong, youre in more jeopardy than they are. These laws are stacked against you, were changing those laws, but in the meantime, we need judges for the simplest thing. Things that you should be able to do without a judge. But we have to have those judges quickly. In the meantime were trying to change the laws. Were working with chairman bob goode lat to keep our country safe from crime and terrorism, and in particular radical islamic terrorism. [applause] a term never uttered by past administration. Never uttered. Did anybody hear that term . I dont think so. No you heard it from me. That includes cracking down on sanctuary cities that defy federal law. Shield visa overstays and that release dangerous criminals back into the United States communities. Its whats happening. Theyre releasing them. So many deaths where they release somebody back into the community. And they know its going to end that way. Thats the sad thing. They know its going to end that way. Were ending those procedures. We have to secure [applause] thank you. I spoke to parents, incredible parents. I got to know so many parents of children that were so horribly killed. Burned to death. Beaten to death. Just the worst kind of death you can ever stuffed in barrels. And the person that did it was released, and youd look at the file, and there were letter after letter after letter begging not to let this animal into society, that it would happen quickly. It wasnt like it would happen over a long period of time. They were saying it would happen quickly. Its total violence. Hes a totally violent person. You cannot let this person out. They let the person out and sometimes it would happen like on the first day, and then you have to talk to the parents and hold the parents and hug them and theyre crying. I mean crying. Their lives are destroyed. And nobody thinks about those people. They dont think about those people. Theyre devastated, but were ending so much of that. Were ending hopefully all of that, the laws are tough, the laws are stacked against us, but were ending it. [applause] so were going to secure our border against illegal entry, and we will build the wall. That i can tell you. [cheers and applause] last night, you dont read about this too much, approved 1. 6 billion for the phase one of the wall which is not only designed but the start of construction over a period of about two years, but the start of construction for a great border wall, and were going to build it. The wall is vital, and vital is a tool for ending the humanitarian disaster brought and really brought on by drug smugglers. And new words that we havent heard too much of, human traffickers. This is a term thats been going on from the beginning of time, and they say its worse now than it ever was. You go back a thousand years, when you think of human trafficking. You go back 500 years, 200 years, 100 years, human trafficking, they say, think of it, what they do . Human trafficking is worse now maybe than its ever been in the history of this world. We need a wall. We also need it though for the drugs, but the drugs are going through the walls easily. Im a very good builder. You people know that better than most because you live in the area. Thats why im here. [applause] we build a good wall. Were going to build a real wall. Going to build a wall that works, and its going to have a huge impact on the inflow of drugs coming across. The wall is almost, that could be one of the main reasons you have to have it. Its an additional tool to stop the inflow of drugs into our country. The Previous Administration enacted an open door policy to Illegal Immigrants from central america. Welcome in. Come in, please. Please. As a result, ms13 surged into the country and scoured and just absolutely destroyed so much in front of it. New arrivals came in, and they were all made recruits of each other and fought with each other, and then they fought outside of each other, and it got worse and worse and turned back. More than 150,000 unaccompanied alien minders arrived at the border were and released all throughout our country into United States communities, at a tremendous monetary cost to local taxpayer and also a great cost to life and safety. Nearly 4,000 from this wave were released into Suffolk County. Congratulations. Including seven who are now indicted for murder. You know about that. In washington, d. C. Region, at least 42 alien minors from the border surge have been recently implicated in ms13related violence, including 19 charged in killings or attempted killings. You say what happened to the old days . People came into this country. They worked and they worked and worked and they had families and paid taxes and did all sorts of things and their families got stronger and they were closely knit. We dont see that. Failure to enforce our Immigration Laws had predictable results. Drugs, gangs and violence. Thats all changing now. Under the trump administration, americas once more a nation of laws and once again, a nation that stands up for our Law Enforcement officers. [cheers and applause] we will defend our country, protect our communities and put the safety of the American People first. And im doing that with Law Enforcement and were doing that with trade and were doing that with so much else. Its called america first. Its called an expression im sure youve never heard of. Make America Great again. Has anybody heard that expression . [cheers and applause] have you heard that expression . That is my promise to each of you. That is the oath i took as president. And that is my sacred pledge to the American People. Thank you everyone here today. You are really special, special americans. And thank you in particular to the great police, sheriffs and i. C. E. Officers. You do a spectacular job. The country loves you. The country respects you. You dont hear it. But believe me, they respect you as much as they respect anything there is to respect about our country. You are spectacular people. [applause] usa usa usa usa because of the danger of your job, which people also understand fully, i leave you with the following thank you and may god bless you, may god bless the United States of america. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you very much. President donald trump surrounded by some of our nations and local heroes in the new york area saying i have your backs. We have your backs, saying that to Law Enforcement, also talking about of course, the violent gang ms13 which is active in 42 states, saying this is the result of the failure to enforce immigration. That stops now. He talked about the wall. A real wall as he called it and gave many examples about ms13 and the fear that they have brought into this country, but he also, he was on script but off script. Want to be clear. Some things he was reading from the prompter, other times he wasnt. He did talk about commerce, trade, he talked about this mornings gdp rating, 2. 6 . The jobs in the nation, the trade deficit. One comment about health care. Of course, the republicans planned to repeal and replace obamacare failed overnight. He said let it implode. Thats what i predicted would happen. Let it implode. He expressed his disappointment in the failure of congress to act. But again the president in brentwood, new york, addressing an invitation only crowd how theyre going to deal with the ms13 gang. The very violent ms13 gang. My panel is kind enough to stay with me. Andrew peak and ned ryun and democratic strategist Pablo Manriquez who i had to cut off. He is the president. What do you think . He gave a lot of specific examples of ms13 and the things theyve done in the country. He did, he really, really did. Honestly, im really disappointed with the president right now. I give him the benefit of the doubt a. The why are you disappointed . Well, because this was scripted by a bureaucratic opportunist named thomas homan, the director of i. C. E. , nothing original about it, and its highly misleading. What thomas homan likes to do is detain as many people as he can, and the ones he doesnt have a real reason to keep, he identifies them as gang members all the time or drug dealers or affiliated with this or that. If the president buys into the terrible, terrible loose, freewheeling Public Policy of ripping families apart. Wait. Its not going to make our country stronger. Pablo, we are focused at looking at Illegal Immigrants and especially as donald trump said violent Illegal Immigrants. Yeah. You think about some of the policies hes enforcing, hes trying to use the federal government to make the cities because the local cities, especially the sanctuary cities are trying to subvert the rule of law. Ive seen nothing wrong with this. Its crazy to say were going to put the American People first and protect those who should be here legally . This is a nobrainer, pablo. Not only did he talk about that. The other thing that is interesting, were going to build the physical wall. Its about a thousand miles of physical wall, going to cost 20 to 22 billion. Someone made the equation, an Aircraft Carrier and a half. Thats great. Lets do it. Put the border wall in place. At the end of the day, fundamentally, you cannot have National Sovereignty if were not protecting our border. Im glad you brought that up. Andrew, of course, you are experienced in intelligence and Law Enforcement, he said real wall. He was very specific in his language, and i think thats telling us something. Absolutely. He clearly thinks of himself as a wartime leader. He likes to use wartime imagery. Violent imagery. He is an effective communicator when he does. That i think hes much more effective talking about the lifeanddeath issues than communicating on things Like Health Care and taxes. So if i were the white house, i would take that competitive advantage and say, okay, to get us going again, to get our legislative agenda moving again, i want to use this ms13 policy initiative, translate that into a big push on immigration and restart our momentum legislatively. Hes right, though, cheryl. Pablo, one thing i know was interesting, i know you will have something to say about this. He talked about a, quote, pathetic mayor, and those of us in new york know he was talking about bill de blasio, this is a sanctuary city and said holding back good policing. He was surrounded by Law Enforcement. Many of them new york Law Enforcement, pablo. They are on the ground dealing with the crime here in this city. Hes got a point. Well, i mean, i think the president is a very effective bully. Unfortunately not very intellectually serious. If you looked at policies hes aproving, they dont just make cities less safe, they make the individual, physical security of the Police Officers on the streets of our communities less sea. One of the federal grants that sanctuary city legislation is actually designed to withhold from local Police Departments is ones that used to buy bulletproof vests. He could not say. Thats a sessions one, thats a Jeff Sessions policy, thats not a thomas homan policy. His people are giving him bad advice, mixing bad policy into what he says, and ultimately, time and time again, it makes him look like somebody who isnt the art of the deal. My question is whats happening in new york city and across the country in particular in sanctuary cities where Violent Crime is up and a lot of times, i dont care if its california, new york, arizona, comes down to Illegal Immigrants committing Violent Crimes, drunk driving, the list goes on and on, i wish i had more time with all of you. Appreciate you sticking around and listening to the and the giving me your analysis all of you. Thank you. Thank you, cheryl. All right. Well be right back. Cheryl okay, just moments ago, President Trump telling a crowd in brentwood, new york, we will get health care done, despite the Senate Rejecting the skinny repeal bill. I want to bring in deroy murdock. He was talking about immigration but went off script and talked about health care, he said let it implode. I told you so is frankly what the president said. Im sure Mitch Mcconnell loved hearing that today. Well, we heard the last time they tried to push this through and it didnt work. President trump said threat implode, when it does, the democrats will come running. Maybe this is the next time we wait for the implosion to happen. I think the senate is going to be in for two weeks. They may have more time in the fall. Do tax reform and come back to health care. They have time to do this and address this. This whole thing is melting down. Have you people losing plans. Have you premiums going up 25 on average i think between 2013 and 2017, premiums have gone up 105 , more than doubled. Cheryl right, cost control wasnt dealt with. Right, the need for change will continue, the situation will get worse and republicans know if they go back to november of 18, midterms not having addressed this, they will be sent back home for good. Cheryl theyre going to hear it in the month of august when they finally take a vacation. You know what . It wouldnt be a remember the big bailout . That took a second goaround to get through, i believe that saved our economy and kept us out of a true depression in this country. They could come back. But tax reform has to come. Budget has to come. They have to fund the faa, procedurally, can they handle this . The last six months is a real delay in getting anything truly done. These people should take a fivehour energy drink about every five hours. Cancel the august recess. Way too much to do. No sense of urgency, they need much more of a sense of urgency on health care, on the budget, the debt ceiling, so many other things and certainly tax reform, and again, i think part of it is Public Policy, politically the republicans have got to show they can lead, they can govern, President Trump is out there doing what he can to push things along. Congress has to do it too. Cheryl we have a congressman joining us to talk about whats happening in washington. Were you surprised by what happened with senator john mccain . He was out there with lindsey graham. It seems paul ryan is willing to take the bill to reconciliation. They were comfortable with that, and ryan promised that, and then mccain overnight something changed. What did you make of that . Very frustrating. I know senators collins and murkowski were opposed to bringing it up for discussion. We knew that. Dedicated to one vote, mike pence, Vice President pence could have split the or broken the tie. This would move them onto conference. Very disappointing that john mccain did. This he wants to bring the democrats in old hearings and that sort of thing. If that happens this process will move further left and not repeal and replace obamacare but modify it a little bit. Cheryl but the democrats will admit that its got problems. The whole thing implods whether they want it to or not. If you want to save Barack Obamas legacy you are committed to doing that. There is a situation in particular with Chuck Schumer to reach the hand across the aisle. Continue all the regulations and problems that obamacare has. They arent particularly interested in market oriented reforms as President Trump and Senate Republicans are. Very disappointing senator mccain doesnt move this forward. I said i wanted to see tort reform and it didnt happen. Great perspective. I want to bring in republican congressman tom reed of new york. Congressman, good to see you. Good to see you, thanks for having me on. Cheryl we were talking about senator Chuck Schumer who is willing to reach out across the aisle. He wants to come back and renegotiate. He admits there are problems with obamacare. Politically, do you believe the democrats want to work with the g. O. P. I hope so. Obviously the collapse of the individual markets is something we should all be concerned about as elected officials of representing people across america. Representing a group of about 40 members of congress that say if the senate cant act, cant we come up with solutions to the individual market . Theres a sweet spot there, and i encourage the senators to continue to have the conversations because well have them in the house. Cheryl one of the things paul ryan promised is he would take this back to reconciliation. Wasnt going to shoot it right to the president s desk. That wasnt enough for senator john mccain of arizona. Were you disappointed in senator mccain . Not just in senator mccain, just disappointed that the senate couldnt act is the appropriate expression because were talking about people. Talking about real people impacted by the classy markets as we speak. We need to move the ball forward and im going to do my part in the house to solve the problems for america. The problem seems to be that everything that the gop came up with over the last four months didnt do anything to address cost control, frankly, and also, you saw this expansion in 31 states of medicaid. More money spent and the fiscal conservative says thats not what we want to see. We dont want to see more tax dollars supporting health care. We want to see this make sense. I agree, given the nature of the inside d. C. Budget rules we were dealing with it, was limited as to what we could get into to health care. We have the second and third bucket, if you recall. Additional conversations to address health care in a bipartisan basis. Thats going to take 60 votes in the senate. Bottom line from the American Peoples perspective, not doing anything, failing in the senate is not something thats acceptable going forward. Cheryl it was a pretty ugly show overnight out of the senate. Do you think that Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell should basically fall on the sword for what happened . I think the senate needs to answer to the American People as to why they didnt take steps forward last night, and from my perspective, theyre going to have to. As the president said, the individual markets are collapsing. Maybe thats the pressure that the senate needs to feel in order for them to act, but the bottom line is if we can do it sooner rather than later, preventing the pain from occurring to real people who did nothing to cause this from happening to themselves. Cheryl you are about to go on vacation, head home to constituents in new york, its a blue state. What do you think youre going to hear . Theres a lot of passion out there. We do town halls and well continue to have the hard conversations. You got to listen to people and hear the fear and anxiety this is causing in day to day lives and hopefully other members doll that and the senators do that so when they come back to d. C. , were going to roll up our sleeves and get this done. Cheryl please rest up. Americans would like to see you get stuff done and signed as well, whether its health care, tax reform, i could go on and on. Congressman, thanks for being with us, appreciate it. Thanks for having me on. At the clinic on monday. Senator mccain does plan to return to washington at the end of the august recess. But wanted to give you an update on the health, and, of course, we do wish him and his family well for his treatment for brain cancer. That is it for me, but im sending it over to my good friend liz claman. Liz. Liz have a good weekend, cheryl. Were not done yet. There are breaking developments on four major stories at this hour. President trump is about to Board Air Force one to return to washington after speaking in long island about that fight against the deadly ms13 gang, telling gang members quote we will find you, arrest you, jail you, and deport you. This as his white house aids slug it out in an ugly back ally battle. Are heads about to roll inside the oval office . Team trump struggles only topped by last nights Dramatic Senate failure to repeal obamacare. Senator john mccain sticking a dagger through the heart of leader Mitch Mcconnell skinny repeal plan. Mccain this afternoon issuing a written demand
