the contest. >> when donald trump says a distinguished judge born in indiana can't do his job because of his mexican heritage or he mocks a reporter with disabilities or calls women pigs, it goes against everything we stand for. >> hillary clinton turned the state department into her private hedge fund, the russians, the saudis, the chinese all gave money to bill and hillary and got favorable treatment in return. >> all of that amongst the issues e'll be talking about with trump campaign manager, corey lewandowski in just minutes here. also the first member of the house to endorse donald trump, republican congressman chris collins joining us. our top story tonight donald trump searching for a vice president. in an interview with bloomberg, trump saying it's been narrowed down to four or five politicians and a short list that includes at least one former rival who has so far refused to endorse him. joining us now the man in charge of, well, achieving that selection, trump campaign manager corey lewandowski. he's been overseeing the vice-presidential search. great to have you. >> thank you for having me. >> i guess it's appropriate. congratulations. >> thank you. >> as donald trump is talking about a vice president, what more can you tell us? he says he's even looking at a former rival who hasn't endorsed him yet. >> well, if you look at the field of 17 candidates who ran in the primary process, there are some great candidates from swing states and important states and people with great elective experience and washington experience. what mr. trump has said is he wants to achieve a serious agenda and that means bringing somebody on board who can complement his abilities and that meaning gets his agenda accomplished. looking for that person who has that washington experience. >> we've got a month and a half. at what point do you expect within that month and a half that donald trump will have decided who it's going to be? i know he says he's going to announce at the convention. that's traditionally the way to do it, and personally i think that's a terrific way to do it. it's dramatic. it's impactful. but i'd like to know how soon he knows who that is. >> i think we all know donald trump is going to be the one to make the final decision and our job on the staff side is to make sure he has a full assembly, make sure he understands the pros and cons and he'll pick them based on the resources. we'll do our homework and have that ready for him in the next three to four weeks and he'll make that decision then. >> donald trump saying monday he's going have a big speech on hillary clinton examining the time period in which he was running the state department, in part, like a hedge fund, he said. can you give us something more specific? >> i think there's two components of this. manufacture o the young voters don't remember the clinton years. we're going to talk about the problems that it brought and the problems associated with it. we're going to talk about clinton's record in the united states senate that she doesn't talk about and is often forgotten. we're going to look at the tenure of the united states and what that means for our country with other places. the job is much more entitled than getting on an airplane and flying millions of miles. there's a clear dichotomy in this election, a clear difference between what donald trump wants to do and the outline last night. put america first rather than what hillary clinton wants to do. when you remind people and look at their record a of what they've achieve as a secretary of state and what he's done as a businessman gives people a fair picture. >> it's increasingly clear and trump again using it last night in his speech it seemed with greater frequency and purpose, is that going to become america first not only foreign policy but america first, period? >> yeah. our campaign has been make america great again. that means putting america first. getting trade deals, butting jobs here, lowering our tax rate, cutting our tax deficit, improving our economy. that's what america first is. that means we're no longer the police of the world. if you want our help, maybe there's a fee for that. take care of our americans first. proud to be an american is a great story and that's what we royn't to focus on. >> he reached out to bernie sanders supporters in that address made up, by the way, of a significant number, we don't know how many, but a significant number of independents understandably. is he going to reach out as well to conservatives because those conservatives right now are anxious about his direction and public policy, his direction as a candidate. >> so if you look at where the polling data indicates right now. m mr. trump is getting 87% of the vote. to putz that in perspective, mitt got 92%. in a three-week window we've consolidated. we've outlined the type of person he would choose should he be elected. conservatives have been unified in the selection process. >> and uniform in their approval of that list. >> that's exactly right. so what you see is the conservatives, the moderates in the republican party but more importantly the independents that are out there, those people that have been engaged in the process for years are now coming on board. we now have 6 million more votes than our competitor, 4 million votes that have ever been cast for a candidate in the primary process. that's because new ones are coming on board. there are those who are disenfranchised and unsatisfied with the government or the last four, eight, and even 20 years. >> there is a calculus in the electoral college that has to be comforting to you, that is take what mitt romney did in 2012. add to that florida, ohio, and pennsylvania, and donald trump becomes the president ee sfleekt that's right. if you take a look at the polls we're winning in florida, in pennsylvania, we're winning in ohio, getting ahead of. >> announcer: le new hampshire. we're going to look to get ahead in michigan. the only way a republican is going to be successful is by going out and get those states mitt romney candidly lost four years ago. >> finally donald trump saying he was disappointed at the criticism he's received from some of the republican leadership. is there at this point a detaunt on public critique either from trump to ward from gop leaders and gop leaders toward him because it becomes off-putting at some point whether it is trump, or ryan or mitch mcconnell at a time they're looking to see a unification process under way. >> there is a unification process under way. yo view to remember they agree on more issues than they don't. that's not to say there aren't going to be disagreements in public policy. that's fair to have. >> i guess, corey, is it going to be private from now on rather than public. have you or any member of the staff talked with the rnc or speaker ryan's office and said, you know, if we're going to have these little critiques, let's do it mutually in private. >> we talk and said, look, let's agree on the things we're going to agree on. let's unify. one american that's very clear, the republicans need to take back the white house in november of this year if we want to achieve the policy goals we want because there's a very clear difference between the towo. we want to see that. so we're all rolling in the same direction on this one. >> and you're well on the way. an extraordinary performance during the primary campaigns. congratulations, corey, once again. >> thank you so much, thank you. donald trump is hard at work narrowing his choices for vice president. >> it takes us a little time to do our homework on the back end. he'll have his decision then. >> who will donald trump choose. trump national security adviser sessions joins me next. and all this family wanted was a picture of a bear, but they ended with a close encounter and a scare of their lives. swreel the video. swreel the video. all of it straight ahead, all o÷ ♪music ♪you fill up my senses ♪like a night in a forest ♪like the mountains in springtime♪ ♪like a sleepy blue ocean ♪you fill up my senses ♪come fill me again ♪come let me love you ♪let me always be with you ♪come let me love you ♪come love me again okawhoa!ady? i mean you say that and you're absolutely right but it's mind-boggling to think those three issues have been evaded by both political partieses for decades. >> that's exactly right, lou. that's really why i supported him. i've come to believe we've been too idealistic and vision iowa in policy. i've agreed with them, studied them. they have not worked for the american people, cost jobs, wages, made our economy weaker, and i believe the immigration flow is way above what we need and the unlawfulness needs to end and the impact of that is really reducing wages and job prospects for the american people. those three issues are legitimate conservative issues in my view, not liberal. they're sound commonsense ideas that it's time to bring in to our national discussion. nobody else seems willing to even talk about it. >> senator, i want to turn to the romney summit, e-2, which is experts and enthusiasts for whatever it means, e-2 out in park city. paul ryan again taking a swipe at the party's nominee. you said a couple of weeks ago adapt or die to your parties. what in the world is paul ryan doing? what will be the reaction to the parties leadership if he persists in this nonsense? >> well, you know, speaker ryan is one of the top leaders of the republican party. he asks people to support him when he makes a decision and then the people that are uneasy with it to come on board and be supportive. the american people, the republicans have spoken. the republican party are the voters out there. they've chosen their nominee, and he needs to help that nominee be successful, not make it more difficult for them. and they need to spend a lot more time talking about the abysmal record of hillary clinton. her goals for america are more government, more taxes, more spending, more debt, more regulation. how can that ever make america better? donald trump has a completely different vision. i can't imagine paul ryan can't see the difference there. and i think he will, but it's been a bit frustrating frankly. >> senator, it's always great to see you. we appreciate it very much. senator jeff sessions. and breaking news tonight, the world health organization issuing a stern warning on the zika virus. global health officials now say people living in zika outbreak regions including the caribbean and latin american regions should consider delaying pregnancy to avoid having babies threatened with birth defects. at the moment, puerto rico is the only part of the united states known to have a zika outbreak. more than 1,350 people there have tested positive for zika in puerto rico including nearly 200 pregnant women. and follow me on twitter at lou dobbs. like me on facebook. follow me on instagram at lou dobbs tonight. link to everythin everything @loudobbs.com. watch as this black bear reaches out its paw and swiftly surprises everyone by opening the door. yes, you hear it. the father may have been screaming. wrestling with the bear for control of the door and then decided to speed away before. the family unshaken unharmed and the bear is fine and you can tell he's been plotting this for some time, that bear. up next, the never trump movement refuses to go away. mitt romney and his pals, they're in utah or soon will be. what are they plotting, and what is their purpose if they have one? >> i know you do. >> he showed no judgment. the alcohol which she said in her victim impact statement, yes, we had both been drinking but i didn't rape anybody, i didn't pull anybody's clothes off them. i didn't assault anybody. i didn't pull anybody to dumpster. i didn't do any of those things. he did all of those things, he did all of those things to me and i don't have my life at this point. >> and i would urge parents out there to look up this 13-page victim impact statement. >> read it. >> read it and show it to your teenage and older kids for them to read it because it's very powerful. the reason i say i don't think he shouldn't be recalled, not that i don't agree with his decision. i svehemently disagree with his sentencing. judges are always involved in very serious substantial cases and like everybody else they make mistakes on occasion. any mistake you make is going to be dramatic just like this one is. i would look at the entire record even this prosecutor who's beside himself with the sentence said, i don't think the judge should be recalled. he's a good judge. he just made a horrible mistake. that's the reason i would do that. >> it's interesting you would say that given all that's happening with the federal judge handling the trump university case. there are people walking around saying you cannot question the judge, you cannot look into his or her motivation. you cannot look into anything that would influence the outcome of a decision. you just heard judge ferrer say they should look at a record that should be judged. lis, what's your reaction? >> my reaction is, yes, you can look at the whole record. when you look at the case where the fiancather of the defendante came out and said, my son, you can't look at my son, you can't look at this, and my son should not be punished for 20 minutes of his -- of action, he got 20 minutes of action. really? >> that's one of the most ignorant things. that's unbelievable. >> exactly. >> you can pull a trigger and murder someone. >> exactly. the judge took that into account? i mean we pay our judges and we put the judges on the bench, and, judge alex, you can respond to this, for their judgment. >> of course. >> so i think at that point you should take the judge off of the bench. >> let's put one thing in perspective. i want to -- >> i don't think anybody would expect a father to do anything other than try to bail his son out. >> no, no, no. i disagree. he's 19 years old. >> if you were to go to the father and say -- >> i'm sorry, judge. i want to turn to another issue. >> insure that is the clinton university case in which the clintons, $55 million move from clinton's state department into the pocket os testify clinton family for bill clinton to serve as a chancellor for this online university. the judge dismisses the case, case in which the smell test is not passed on any -- on any level. lis, your thoughts, real quick. >> i think the headline here tonight, lou, is that this is the first time that we're hearing about it. why haven't we heard about this case. >> and i've got to turn quickly to judge ferrer. >> it's -- to me, the salient point is most of us aren't shocked. i mean we've heard so much about the clintons receiving money in one pocket while they're doling out money in another pocket. it's almost not a story if you're watching this network. but in other networks, almost nobody has heard about it. that's the point lis is making. they don't bury this up, but they're all over trump. >> as you point out, there's quite a different standard in the national liberal media. lis, thank you for being here. great to have you here. thanks for your insight as always. and yours as well, judge ferrer. thank as lot. a norwegian cameraman may want to find a new way to make a living. watch this rally car speeding around the corner. it comes so fast -- here's where it went, there's a clue as the cameraman went topsy-turvy. it hit him in the face. he dropped the cram on impact. yelled out in agony. banged up, but we're told it could have been worse. that does not sound like a medical diagnosis but there we have it from the scene. up next, governor chris collins. he was the first in the house to endorse donald trump. he said the democrats have a unity problem. next. stay with us. there's more support for plus trm p amongst republicans than mrs. clinton has among democrats. we're united. they're fractured. call it wv joining us now congressman chris collins a member of the house energy and commerce committee. congressman, always good to see you. >> good to be with you, lou. let's start with -- first of all, i want to congratulate you. it's quite a 51-week campaign. your candidate that you've endorsed now there. he's the lead over the republican party. does paul ryan, however, understand that?
