We had quite a few in recent months. Tightening restrictions but as we another one tonight. I think there have heard there are some concerns is one other thing worth reflecting about the conservative backbenchers about the conservative backbenchers about getting the balance right on this morning, which is after all of the noise of yesterday and that between economic recovery and liberties we have had taken from us concern articulated by the scientists, we are about not hearing in recent months and more as much as you might expect in terms restrictions there, versus clamping of restrictions. And the avoid people having could be average fresh you really see why stopped . Can avoid people having could be stopped . Can you avoid people having could be stopped . Can you see the logic there . I can see some of the logic, people draw so much from the coast. But we also have to couple that with you feel much healthier. And as you we re you feel much healthier. And as you were saying, there were many initiatives going on in eastbourne we have seen a growing issue. The rule of six has come in so it can and other places as well, today in curtail some of the household gatherings we were seeing and we are the next few weeks, to try to seeing them up and down the country, encourage people to walk more. Today is world car free day which means including unregulated spaces. We that many voters are being understand schools have gone back, temporarily blocked off to try to universities have gone back, which encourage people to use their cars are also intentional hotbeds. We instead. Many councils that you have understand the challenges, we already ramped up their efforts to understand the challenges, we understand it is a very difficult balance for government, and we want boost their healthy neighbourhood to do the right thing in terms of schemes which have seen some roads Public Health, but we want to make are blocked off. Some cars get sure it is very clear. We want to diverted. And also a game called beat the street which is now in its understand what those sort of stats tenth year and it has been a huge look like in terms of our sector difference. More than 1 tenth year and it has been a huge difference. More than1 Million People are taking part in it and i because, at the moment, itjust seems very clear that we are being have up on some of the players here targeted. And our industry has made in eastbourne. Millie and jake are huge leaps and bounds in terms of playing beat the street. For ten years, this game has helped get being covid safe. 0ur challenges are communities moving. Itjust that we have done everything the government has asked us to do. 30 , registers your fob legal card and then you have an hour to get your 40 capacity, we are talking about second box. And you get to it gets nominal amounts of people very ten points for yourself and ten socially distanced and we dont understand why our industry is being points for your it helps you to be, like, more healthy. Their head punished almost for us trying our utmost to get to a point where we teacher believes it has made a huge can re engage the market because, difference to his pupils. We believe you know, we are in trouble that when the children and pupils can re engage the market because, you know, we are in trouble i dont know if you are able to hear a moment ago that we were speaking to are physically active it will calum semple, professor of medicine support their health, the two are intrinsically linked. And we do an at liverpool university. His was a awful lot of work around well being at school. It was the idea of a gp very blunt factual assessment of where we are. The question was asked about what further measures he thinks might have to come in in who is a familiar face to bbc brea kfast who is a familiar face to bbc breakfast viewers. We have managed order to make a difference to the to get1. 3 breakfast viewers. We have managed to get 1. 3 Million People engaged transmission of the virus, which is and all walks of life. People have the fundamental principle. His never done any activity at all will belief was that this was just the start to do beat the street. The uk start in terms of your industry, in could see 50,000 new coronavirus terms of pubs and restaurants, that cases a day by mid october without that was almost something that was further action. The government necessarily going to happen. Well, i scientific adviser said yesterday. Mean, its hugely concerning, as you the coronavirus alert level is going can understand. You know, none of us up the coronavirus alert level is going up to level four, meaning wa nt to can understand. You know, none of us want to compromise anyone in terms transmission is high or growing at an increasing rate. So if there is a of Public Health but we need to second lockdown what we need to be understand clearly what the actual careful of is that we dont keep people indoors the whole time was infection rate, transmission rate, lot people will be frightened and they are going to anxious of going within our sector is. We have worked outside because there was a lockdown extremely hard. Weve spent a lot of money, a lot of people have spent a and creates this fear, but the message has to be, permission given lot of money making the places covid for people to be outside. Todays safe. If we are going to go forward and be locked down, we need to get world car free day. Streets are something that is going to support being blocked off to traffic on a us something that is going to support us for that period. At the moment, basis to get people walking and apart from the initial outset, and a cycling, adding to what is becoming furlough obviously coming to an end, an increasingly familiar site. This our concern is furlough obviously coming to an end, year Many Councils have extended our concern is many furlough obviously coming to an end, our concern is many of these businesses will be going to the their healthy neighbourhood schemes wall. There is no conversation about which means many streets had been further support for businesses blocked off, like one. The hope is unable to open. There are challenges that it encourages people to leave for government and we are here to their car at home but it can make support, he had to make sure we can see this through and pass the information on, but we need other roads more congested. government to start looking at that Financial Support for our sector if their car at home but it can make we are asked to close. Thank you other roads more congested. I think the planners, you know, in the town centre, 25 of all pollution are very much, mike kill, chief generated from vehicles. So what we re generated from vehicles. So what were looking to do is encourage executive of the night time people to leave their cars at home. Industries association. We will continue talking about this through the programme. Amid all the discussion about coronavirus, labours online meanwhile, beat the street has seen Party Conference will continue today with a speech from new 10,000 people sign up in eastbourne leader sir keir starmer. Alone. Convince people why you were joined now by shadow foreign secretary lisa nandy, should do this rather than go for a whos in westminster. Walk . I suppose it is a way explore very good morning to you. Morning. Further afield. Ito mean, were quite familiar with but a lot of the cani town as we let you on and off for very good morning to you. Morning. Can i first get your reaction . We will come to your event that is many years but also it means you can explore other areas. It is great fun happening in a moment. Lets first and it is good for all the family. Talk about the announcement last night, the confirmation of the 10pm cu rfew for what do you think, 0scar . He loves night, the confirmation of the 10pm curfew for hospitality in england. What do you make of that . It, he loves it. At a time of curfew for hospitality in england. What do you make of that7m curfew for hospitality in england. What do you make of that . It is absolutely right that the government enormous change, pressure has never felt so important. I think 0scar is reacts to what the scientists laid out in very stark terms yesterday. What i would say is it is obvious the youngest ever player of beat the they will have to be further street but i can check with doctor measures that are brought in, william byrd. A familiarface, of because just down the road from me course. You saw him in the report. In bolton we have had measures similarto you think oscar is the youngest . In bolton we have had measures similar to this for several weeks now and the infection rate is still eight weeks old. I think that is rising. In the end the government definitely the youngest. Thats a has to get a grip on the test, trace record. So, such challenging times and isolate system, because if we we are facing at the moment. How dont know who has the virus anti important is it that people still do they have come into contact with them they will continue to lose get outside even if there is a control as we have seen over the lockdown . Well, today is the perfect last few and that has to be the day. Not only is it world car free coyote for the government. Clarity day but it is also the equinox so, is extremely important as you well know. Are you saying very clearly that you believe the governments in other words, the days now start getting shorter. The sun has crossed decisions, as they will be outlined the equator so it is now in the by the Prime Minister at hpm, but south, so we will have sunrise in a what we know already, are you few minutes and thereby sends out it will have gone across and we will already saying, they have not gone have started the kind of winter. And far enough . Already saying, they have not gone farenough . At i think the winters concerning lots already saying, they have not gone far enough . At hpm. Already saying, they have not gone far enough . At hpm. We will look of people, obviously. There is a lot at what the governor says at hpm. It of people, obviously. There is a lot of anxiety about whats coming up. The most important thing we can do is extraordinary. You had the chief is to maintain our health by getting scientific officer and chief medical officer at laying out the huge rise close to nature. We know that during in infection rates projected to lockdown Sport England research at reach numbers of up to 200 deaths about 56 of people will walking and per day yesterday. All we have had so per day yesterday. All we have had so farfrom by the time they finished it was up per day yesterday. All we have had so far from the government is an to 69 . Walking and cycling doubled. Announcement that pubs and bars will be asked to close a bit earlier. People getting out, its really important and that is why eastbourne that will obviously have a big impact on the Hospitality Industry, are doing beat the street in order to get people out so that you get but there are clearly going to be the physical activity and you get other measures that will be brought the physical activity and you get the improvement of Mental Health by being closer to nature. Anyway it in. The government has said so themselves. It just in. The government has said so themselves. Itjust isnt at in. The government has said so themselves. It just isnt at all clear why they were not prepared for sounds obvious, get outside and go this, given we have had a wasted summerand this, given we have had a wasted for a walk, but make such a summer and they have been warnings not just for us but from right difference. You think people still underestimate the distant difference across the spectrum, from medical it can make . Absolutely. People feel like they had to wait for the advisers and scientists, as well, vaccine or a magic medicine that is that this was inevitable unless we going to come along to deal with got a that this was inevitable unless we gota grip that this was inevitable unless we got a grip on the testing system. Covid and actually one of the most that is why we keep saying to the government, come on, now, you have important things is to help our to work with Public Health immune system so when youre active, directors, local councils right across the country, to make sure we you improve the immune system both on the immediate side, the natural get this testing system up and running and get a grip on this. We killer cells in the nose and lungs, that stops that i was getting in, will be speaking to michael gove in a few minutes at 7 30am. He is and the innate immune system which actually gets the immune system to come down a bit so deals with it already intimating this morning. He later. But diet and other things. Is being asked about working from there are lots of things we can do and just by walking, walking home and the messaging there was that if people could, they could get briskly, you dontjust want into their workplaces. He is saying and just by walking, walking briskly, you dont just want to loiter around, you want to get a nice brisk walk for 30 minutes or, there has been a shift in emphasis, if you can, up to an hour a day, if it is possible for people to work from home once again. Have they got would probably have the best of that you can probably have by preparing that right . I think the government for the winter and keeping it going all way through the winter until we needs to be much clearer about this. Get to spring equinox. you know, the day that borisjohnson announced people had to stop working all way through the winter until we get to spring equinox. I look forward to that already. Really from home was the day after parts of interesting stuff. And as you say, the country, including greater it sounds kind of obvious but make such a difference, doesnt it . I manchester, where i live, had just been put into another local hope we will get a lovely morning lockdown. I think people are getting this morning in eastbourne. The air suddenly feels fresh. It is and if increasingly confused about what they are being asked to do. My sense you walk is coming along here this is that most people are desperately morning. We havent seen anyone trying to do the right thing, but playing beat the street yet but im the Government Communication has been less than clear on this, and sure they will because it is very popular. It looks really nice down since Dominic Cummings drove across the country to visit barnard castle, there this morning. As you say, we i think people are starting to will watch as the sun rises. We look really question whether people are forward to seeing you do some brisk speed walking later ones you following the guidance. We need to demonstrate for us, please, that see the governor to be in far would be good . Clearer. I people being asked to demonstrate for us, please, that would be good . Right now . A little work from home if they can . Either being asked to go into the later. Shall we speed walk off . Workplace . What is the evidence behind this . If we understand why we are being asked to do this then people will follow it and the countries that have managed to get a lets go for it . Oh, look. Tim has grip on the crisis are far quicker are the countries that have been far obviously been watching the olympics. That is quite leisurely, isnt it . It is the style, though. More open with their people. Are the countries that have been far more open with their peoplem are the countries that have been far more open with their people. In the same breath you are asking for still to come on breakfast as well. Clarity, and we will try to do that it is back with a fresh batch of with michael gove in a few minutes. I will ask you in the same breath. Bakers. We will be speaking to last where you in that position this yea rs bakers. We will be speaking to last years winner about all things baker morning, making the announcement of. Years winner about all things baker of. Head of tonights new series. Today, what announcements would a time now for the news, travel and weather, where you are. Labour government make . The first thing we would have done yesterday is to be at that press conference to a nswer is to be at that press conference to answer questions alongside. What would you have done . What announcements would you have made . About how we would put the test, trace and isolate system back on track. That includes making sure that Public Health directors still come who dont have access to the information that they need about where this virus is, can get it, about putting them in the driving seat of these tests. We have seen the testing regime outsourced to companies who dont have the local knowledge. Which is clearly hugely important but specifically today our focus is very much on restrictions. About what people are allowed to do, what they are not allowed to do. So what they are not allowed to do. So what would you have said . Look, from the very beginning we have asked the government to set up a National Cobra and bring people in to this conversation so that we can help them to explain to the public why they are being asked what to do. But we have not been privy to the scientific evidence. All we have been shown is what the nation was shown yesterday. We are not in a position to second guess what the advisers, the scientific and medical community, i sang advisers, the scientific and medical community, isang into advisers, the scientific and medical community, i sang into the government. That is why we are saying that the government needs to come forward much more quickly. Not just with a package of measures that they think will rein in this virus and help to protect us, but with the evidence behind that so that we can understand the basis on which those decisions are made. It would be com pletely decisions are made. It would be completely wrong of me to try to second guess what that evidence is when the government has not decided to share it with us. Lisa nandy, thank you very much. The shadow foreign secretary. In a couple of minutes we will be speaking to michael gove from the government about all of those issues. Time now to get the news, travel and weather where you are. Good morning. Im asad ahmad. A day after League Two Side Leyton Orient announced that a number of its First Team Players have tested positive for coronavirus, no formal decision has been made about whether theyll still be playing their league cup match against Tottenham Hotspurs tonight. 0rients Football Ground has been closed until further notice and the club is in discussions with public Health England about whether any further action needs to be taken. Its understood that if 0rient cant field a team tonight the game will be awarded to spurs as theres not enough room in the schedule to rearrange the tie. Londoners are being advised to get a flu jab to help protect against whats being called the double danger of flu and coronavirus. Research shows people can catch both diseases at the same time with serious and sometimes deadly consequences. Anyone over 50 is eligible for the jab. A start up firm in South East London is trying to make it cool for men to wear wigs. And its focus is upon young black men with hair loss. Its already proving popular in america where, after preparation, the so called man weave, using natural hair, is attached to the head using special adhesives. It comes as wigs and Hair Extensions for women have grown in popularity. So the idea is, why not have it for men . In black culture style has always been a thing thats really important to us and we care about how we look, we care about how we present ourselves, so hair loss is viewed with some stigma. Well, today marks the autumn equinox, but its still going to feel an awful lot like summer and its back with a fresh batch just for one more day until it turns of bakers well be speaking to last years winner cooler and wetter tomorrow. About all things bake off, but for this morning we are starting ahead of tonights new series. Good morning, heres off with a few early a summary of todays main mist patches around. Stories from bbc news. For most of us, though, sunshine from the word go and well be keeping that sunshine throughout the day. Top afternoon temperatures good morning, heres of 24, maybe 25 celsius. A summary of todays main just clouding over from the west stories from bbc news. As we head towards the end of the day, and then that cloud is set to thicken overnight tonight. The wind will also pick up pubs, bars, and restaurants will and therell be some outbreaks of showery rain into the start have to close from 10pm on thursday. Of the day tomorrow, but its still mild out there 14 or 15 celsius on wednesday morning. But on wednesday itself, the Prime Minister will set a cold front sweeps through thats going to give us some out details of the restrictions outbreaks of rain. In the commons later today, it will drag in some much cooler before addressing the nation this evening. Air, so temperatures take a real dip he will also say that the hospitality sector as we head through the middle part will be restricted by law of the week. To Table Service only. On thursday itll turn rather windy, additional coronavirus and therell be some showers around. Restrictions will come into force we introduce a cold northerly wind from six oclock this evening on friday, but a lot in Northern Ireland. Of dry weather around, people from different too, at the weekend. Households will no longer be able to meet indoors, with some exceptions im back with the latest like family carers. More than 1,000 people have tested positive for covid 19 in Northern Ireland hello, this is breakfast with in the last seven days. Louise minchin and Charlie Stayt. Four more areas in wales as weve been hearing this morning, will face local lockdown pubs, bars and restaurants restrictions later today in england will have to close by 10 oclock every night after a rise in coronavirus cases. From thursday under new measures from six oclock tonight, to be announced later. Hundreds of thousands of people will not be able to enter lets speak now to the cabinet or leave the counties on the list Office Minister michael gove. And an 11pm curfew will be imposed on pubs. Itll mean more than a quarter good morning to you. Thank you for of the welsh population will be joining us as ever, a lot of things living under tougher measures. To get through, so lets start with what chris whitty said yesterday. If 30 Million People are bing we dont do enough the virus will offered flu jabs to help protect ta ke we dont do enough the virus will take off and at the moment that is against the double danger of contracting the illness the path that we are clearly on. And coronavirus. Public Health England hopes its biggest ever Flu Vaccination Programme closing pubs, restaurants at tempe, will help to reduce the burden on the nhs during the winter. This year anyone over 50 in england is that enough . Its only part of the package and, good morning. The is eligible for a jab. Lets get more on this now from our gp this morning, Prime Minister will be announcing to fari ahmed is in cheshire. The house of commons today but it is accurate, as reported, we will be facing restrictions on hospitality, so thank you forjoining us. First of facing restrictions on hospitality, so pubs and restaurants will be asked to close at 10p and we will all, the one thing i have been struck by is the fact that you can say its Table Service only. That limits the amount of social mixing going on but there are other obviously get flu and coronavirus at the same time. That is going to make measures the Prime Minister will be announcing in the house of commons you feel terrible, for starters, and will be broadcasting notice of isnt it . Yes, yes. And i think the country. What is the evidence that will make a difference . The there was a study, not have a lot of patience, but they looked at people evidence that we have shows that the who ended up having both and they we re who ended up having both and they were all in hospital so they were all obviously quite unwell with it. Virus is on the increase, its not the sad news is that people who had just the number of cases being both were more likely to die from it than people who had one or either of recorded, the Positivity Rate is up, and the number of people in those so i think it is one to be hospitals, sadly, has increased as well, and we know that if we reduce the amount of social mixing then we avoided. Which would make sense can reduce the spread of the virus, so we are can reduce the spread of the virus, so we are trying to strike a balance, trying to say schools of course should remain open, we want because dosh they both seem to be causing extra support. Not a lot of workplaces where people have to be in the factory or in the shop in order to do theirjob to remain open people they look tired but what was ina order to do theirjob to remain open in a covid secure way but we also interesting was people who had both wa nt to in a covid secure way but we also want to make sure we can try to do conditions and people who just had everything we can to limit the just the flu or david. They were spread of the infection. No one wa nts to ta ke spread of the infection. No one wants to take these steps. They are more likely to pass away. What key not undertaken with relish. Lets just specifically talk about that differences are there between the ten p. What is the evidence that centres of flow and coronavirus . Moving the hours make a difference . There is evidence of the longer this is a tricky one. A lot of the venues stay open at the greater symptoms are the same because with the flu and coronavirus you get a degree of social mixing that takes fever, you can often get a car. Place, so placing a restriction like this is something weve already done there is a third symptom, you can in parts of the country where the virus has been spreading particularly fast and the evidence get them in both, you can get aches has been accumulating so far and and pains. I think it is quite hard indicating this does have a beneficial effect. Ok, so my question is is that enough, in your to tease them apart and that is why, if you do have any of those view, is the 10pm curfew we can call symptoms, you really need to get a it that, is that really going to test, you need to stay home and make a big difference or should the self isolate, and the test should let you know if you have david or pubs and restaurants be closed . No, not covid or not. You can get i think it will make a difference but i think there are other steps which are required to be taken as influenza testing but that is trickier to arrange. So, the flu well and the Prime Minister will be saying more to the house of commons. Programme gets rolled out from today i think its right he spells out the and from what you are saying, it is full package to the house of commons first and then of course explains really important for people, things to the country later, but vertically this time around, to get their flu vertically this time around, to get theirflu jabs. Vertically this time around, to get there will be other measures he will their flu jabs. Yes. Come winter, we are open to lots of respiratory bring forward so that, as well as tackling some of the concerns viruses and infections and i think expressed about hospitality venues, this winter, more than ever, we have there are other steps outlined as well. I appreciate people will be stated what life is like without watching you this morning desperate having a vaccine for the disease and to know what these other steps are. Flue is one of the ones we do have a vaccine for so if you are eligible you mentioned workplaces. Boris johnson told us injuly to start to for it, definitely take it up go back to work now if you can. Is because it. You getting the flow and that still a message . No, one of the things we want to stress is there hopefully it will help you get are some people who cant work from through the winter and it will also help the nhs because as you can home and we are very clear that in a imagine, we had lots of people getting the flu and getting covid. Covid safe workplace if yourjob requires it, you should absolutely we know the programme is being be in the workplace, but if you can work from home then that is extended, so who is eligible and does your gp contact you . Yes. Something we support. Thats a com plete something we support. Thats a complete about turn, isnt it . No, its a response to the virus. 0ne everybody who was shielding and thing chris whitty and professor theirfamilies, they everybody who was shielding and their families, they are eligible. And everyone who gets the flu valla nce thing chris whitty and professor vallance pointed out yesterday is if vaccine, people over 65, people with we look at the trajectory of the virus we need to take action now. A Certain Health conditions, diabetes, stitch in time saves nine. If we heart conditions, and then kids from ta ke stitch in time saves nine. If we take this action at this point then two up to third year of secondary we can hopefully avert more serious school, they are all eligible and action later. To be really clear, if they will all get it through school. This year, there is an extra group you dont have to go back to work, the message now is dont do that. From 50 to 54 who will also be offered the flu jab, they will be yes, if people can work from home offered the flu jab, they will be offered it later in the year, so they should. But i stress it is very after we have vaccinated the usual cohort. The hope is that with that, important that those people whose we will have more people per jobs require them to be in a protected from getting the flu, as specific workplace do so. We are not we roll into winter because it is going to be hard winter. Do we wait revisiting the days at the beginning for you to get in touch . Yes, most of our response to this virus. What we are doing is saying that there people should have already have had contact from their doctors or a are now steps we have taken in order to make workplaces safer for letter saying they are eligible. We everyone, though steps have been asa letter saying they are eligible. We as a practice have already done a taken in consultation with trade unions and businesses and we know couple of flu clinics already so as what they are, workplaces are safer, the vaccinations are coming in, we but one of the risks that we have to are organising things and getting them out. I think the ones that are face is a social mixing overall contributes to the spread of the happening three schools, School Nurses are organising all that so virus, so as much as we can restrain they will be in touch with parents thatis virus, so as much as we can restrain that is possible at this stage, the to let them know this is happening. Better for all of us and Public Health. What happening with the thank you. Civil service because you are trying to get 8 back to work, 80 . Lets get the sport now. Civil service because you are trying to get 896 back to work, 80 . Yes, more to get 896 back to work, 8096. Yes, more than 8 . The Civil Service we have all watched, havent we, workplaces are safer now than they sally, as all sorts of sports to try to conjure how we get fans back in, we re workplaces are safer now than they were before when it comes to helping with the agreement of the government to contain the spread of the infection but we are also stressing, but things are about to change. This andi infection but we are also stressing, and i was talking to the permanent picture behind me gives a good secretary in the Cabinet Office about this yesterday, that if people example of what we are trying to do. Can work from home then we will the clubs have missed fans, that is facilitate that and what we will seek to do was make sure that the meetings that need to take place can a socially distant cloud crowd ta ke meetings that need to take place can take place with people either at work or at home as appropriate. What there. The government is set to scrap happens to be 80 . What is it now . The gradual reintroduction of fans to sporting events, due to start in just over a weeks time. Im talking to the permanent the pilot scheme, with a thousand spectators allowed at specific secretary, the chief operating events, will be paused. Office of the Civil Service, about officials will look at the financial the approach we can take and impact and they could put together a support package to department by department it will vary. There are some roles, people ensure sports can survive but there are real fears that involved in the mod and other smaller football clubs will go under departments who need to be there in if they cannot get the fans back. The office in the ops room dealing smaller football clubs will go under if they cannot get the fans backm is essential that we start to with these situations, but there are receive paying guests in october. Others of course who can work from that is one of our biggest sources home and we just need to look at it of income, we are a school ona home and we just need to look at it on a case by case basis. Home and we just need to look at it on a casebycase basis. Can we look smaller club. For us, it is actually at what happened over the last few months because we were told to eat essential, we couldnt open our out to help out, go back to work, and there seems to be a complete doors, we can Start Playing without crowds and we would have to close. Change . There is a change, yes. I think it was right we supported businesses during the summer and we managed to reduce the virus than and Manchester City are off to a winning start in the premier league, it was a welcome economic boost as as they bid to regain the title. And theirfaith well as being a good thing for in phil foden paid off, as they beat wolves 3 1 he was playing for the first time families. But its also the case since he was sent home that we have to look at the evidence from england duty in disgrace and he scored citys second. Wolves pulled a goal back before and we have seen whats happened in gabrieljesus sealed france and particularly in spain the win in injury time. With an increase in infections, aston villa kicked off with a 1 0 win over Sheffield United. Defender ezri konsa got hospitalisations and tragically the the goal in a scrappy match, Sheffield United have number of deaths increasingly the spanish government, the spanish lost their first two games. Medics put a strain on intensive leyton 0rients league cup ca re medics put a strain on intensive match against tottenham tonight care beds in some parts of spain so is in doubt because theyve had thats something we want to avoid. To close their stadium and training facilities, so by taking the steps we are taking after a number of First Team Players now we think that this is a tested postive for coronavirus. We understand that if 0rient are unable to field a team, the game would be awarded to spurs, recalibration which we hope and believe will be enough to check the because scheduling makes it almost impossible to rearrange. Spread of the virus. Do you accept. We are not going back to the players affected the sorts of measures we had in the are self isolating. Spring. But, inevitably, when you are dealing with a new virus, you have to do follow scientific advice Tammy Beaumont said she felt and youve got to take account of shed been playing for her place the changes in our knowledge of how in the england womens cricket side, after she starred in their t20 the changes in our knowledge of how the virus develops. Do you accept, victory over west indies at derby. Given what happened in the summer, this was their first people went out to help out etc, International Since march that the measures were wrong at that and beaumont top scored with 62 from 49 balls, time . Given what happens now . No, i as england set the visitors 164 to win. Dont accept that, i think it was and they fell 47 runs short, right. Can i mention something for the sharks winning chris whitty said yesterday, its the tournament means their first silverware since 2006. Crucial to break unnecessary links between households. That was nothing to do with whats going on in hospitality. What is going to happen about that . The Prime Minister will Novak Djokovic has claimed be saying a little bit more later. I a record 36th masters title, with victory in the can understand people want the italian masters in rome. What we hope is know that this year, weve been talking a lot to doddie weir, rob burrow we can take appropriate steps now, and Stephen Darby three sportsmen who are all living which means that if we succeed in with Motor Neurone Disease, an illness with no cure. Former footballer lenjohnrose, who also has mnd, has been telling Richard Askham how hes taken beating back the virus, then we will inspiration from his in the future be able to progressively relax them. But what i fellow sports stars. Cant do is predict with certainty. Science doesnt allow you when you are dealing with a virus like this lenjohnrose is a man determined to have an absolute prediction. To live his life to the full. As positive in his attitude. Months, weeks . It is the case professor valla nce if it wasnt for him being so upbeat months, weeks . It is the case professor vallance and chris whitty all the time, we wouldnt be. Pointed out yesterday that we are. As he is proud of his family. Going to have a challenging next six months. And thats because we know that during winter winter flu and len was diagnosed with motor neurone other conditions put particular disease three and a half years ago. He was a teacher after a successful first career as a footballer strain on the Public Health. So we with several clubs, including blackburn rovers, burnley, and as you see here, swansea city. Being able to watch sport is being scrapped . Being able to watch sport is being scrapped . Can you being able to watch sport is being scrapped . Can you explain why it his game face returns safer to watch a sports match for when he is coaching his son patrick. Example ina safer to watch a sports match for example in a pub as you can do, rather than in a controlled he wants to follow in his dads regulated open venue . Yes, i think footsteps and become a professional footballer. Its the case we have been piloting patrick, how proud some open air venues and we do want are you of your dad . All the time, every time i hear him to be able in due course to allow and see these videos, i am. People to return to watch football what about you, elizabeth . Yeah. I really am proud of him. And other sporting events, but it is the case we just need to be cautious he has shown me how strong he can at the moment. I think a mass be, and i want to be like that. Reopening at this stage would not be appropriate. As we all know, i have attended premier League Football matches in london, by definition, you will have on the tube train to the match, in the circumstances around the ground where people are len takes inspiration from other high profile sportsmen who have mnd. Buying food, going to the footballer Stephen Darby turnstiles, you will have at who he is in regular contact half time and afterwards a huge with and rugby players doddy weir, amount of social mixing, and so we and rob burrow. Allow, get more people back because they remain besotted with each other. Again, you make a fair point, which nadine, you must have been is that the virus is less likely to going through all sorts of emotions, obviously. Just try to put it into words, how you feel. Spread out than indoors but again, you cant think about it too much. I mean, in the beginning, its in the nature of major sporting it was awful because you just. Events that there is a lot of the bottom falls out of your world mingling. People look back now at and everything youve planned. The beginning of the pandemic and of we had so many plans, didnt we . What was striking, chris, is there are changes under way . Good morning. As ever, the Decision Makers in brea kfast as ever, the Decision Makers in breakfast setting out what they will be doing. The cabinet is due to meet here in the south island, we have seen some here in the south island, we have seen some cabinet ministers are writing in the last few minutes. There will be an additional meeting of cobra, the civil contingencies meeting, the first ministers of scotla nd meeting, the first ministers of scotland and wales and the deputy first minister of Northern Ireland also joining. First minister of Northern Ireland alsojoining. The Prime Minister will address the commons at lunchtime and address the country at hpn on television this evening. Pubs in england are being told to close front end pm from thursday, Table Service only, and as michael gove confirmed on breakfast in the last half hour, we should return to working from home if we can. Half hour, we should return to working from home if we canm people can work from home, they should. But i stress that it is very important that those people whose jobs require them to bna specific workplace do so. Again, we are not revisiting the date of the beginning of our response to this virus but we are saying there are steps we have taken to make workplaces safer for everyone , taken to make workplaces safer for everyone, those steps have been taken in consultation with businesses and trade unions, we know what they are, workplaces are safer, but one of the risks we have to faces that social mixing overall contributes to the spread of the virus, so as much as we can restrain that as possible at this stage, the better for us all and for Public Health. The Prime Ministers chief aide Dominic Cummings isjust arriving at downing street. To the measures go far enough . I did not expect a response, but it is always worth a go the essence this morning of what we will hear is the essential challenge that the governments of the uk face, how far to go, how to calibrate a response to go, how to calibrate a response toa to go, how to calibrate a response to a still very deadly virus while prying to a still very deadly virus while prying while trying to protect as many liberties and minimise economic havoc into the winter, whereas the blunt truth is that things will get worse before they are going to get better. These measures apply to england, the ones chris was talking about, and borisjohnson will address the nation on television at hpn. At eight oclock. Tighter restrictions, including a ban on people from different households meeting indoors, will come into force across Northern Ireland from six oclock this evening. It comes after more than 1000 people tested positive for covid 19 there in the past week. Lets speak to our ireland correspondent, chris page, who is in belfast this morning. What will the restrictions be, and why now . From six oclock tonight, people in Northern Ireland wont be able to have friends rented a house for a petit, a bite to eat or other social reason around to the house for a social reason around to the house fora cup of social reason around to the house for a cup of tea. Childcare is one exemption, also you can meet friends in your garden but there is a limit on that, to six people from two households, but children under 13 do not count towards that total. If you live in belfast all parts of County Antrim and county armagh, these rules have been in place for almost a fortnight already but ministers in the Northern Ireland government decided to roll out these regulations to the whole of Northern Ireland because they say the virus is spreading fast, Northern Ireland has a higher case rate than the rest of the uk, numbers going into hospital have been rising slowly but ministers want the numbers of people who become severely ill to remain relatively low and they say their evidence is that the place where the virus is spreading the most at the moment is inside homes, so they help by cutting down the amount of time people spend with each other in their homes, that is that i think they can do to put a brake on the spread. Thank you, chris. Sir keir starmer will call on voters who abandoned labour under Jeremy Corbyn to return to the party under his leadership. In his First Party Conference speech as labour leader, which is being held online this year due to the pandemic, sir keir will also focus on his personal values of patriotism and family. 30 Million People are bing offered flu jabs to help protect against the double danger of contracting the illness and coronavirus. Public Health England hopes its biggest ever Flu Vaccination Programme will help to reduce the burden on the nhs during the winter. This year anyone over 50 in england is eligible for a jab. The National Trust has revealed that about a third of its properties have links to the slave trade and colonialism. The report details more than 90 estates, including Winston Churchills home chartwell, which was singled out for ties to britains colonial past, and Quarry Bank Mill in cheshire which was built using Family Wealth related to slavery. Heres matt with a look at this mornings weather. I think we can look first at a rather Beautiful Image over london, the sun rising. Recorded earlier. It is rather glorious. This is the last sunrise of autumn over london a short while ago, it is a fine start to the day, lots of sunshine across many eastern areas where it will be warm, more cloud developing in the west and signs that 0rton is on the way with cloud and rain towards the north and west slowly spreading more widely across western scotland and Northern Ireland. I could be the shallow across the western half of england and wales as the cloud to co nse rve england and wales as the cloud to conserve england and wales as the cloud to conserve there could be the odd shower. Woman yesterday, 25, 26 across parts of the south east, east anglia and lincolnshire, may be up to 20 oh 21 in north east england. Rain across north east islands and western parts of scotland later with winds of up to 40 mph in the second half of the day. This evening and overnight, rain spreads across scotla nd overnight, rain spreads across scotland and Northern Ireland into the north and west of england and wales, it will be the dividing line between the dregs of the summer warmth remaining across the south east, but a much more fresh and autumnal start tomorrow across scotla nd and autumnal start tomorrow across scotland and Northern Ireland, and the cool weather will be with us all through the rest of the week. It should be around 15 to 19 degrees, but most places around 9013 celsius by friday. Thank you for that lovely sunrise. Lets return to our main story now. From thursday, pubs, bars and restaurants in england will be required by law to close at 10pm. The curfew is one of a number of measures to be announced by Boris Johnson later, to help curb the spread of coronavirus. John maguire is at the bridge inn pub in bristol to find out what impact the new restrictions will have on the staff and customers there. We have heard from some of those involved in the Hospitality Industry about what this will mean. You are ina purple, about what this will mean. You are in a purple, table had to deal these new houses, the restrictions come into place on thursday you are in a pub, they will have to deal with. It has been a difficult time, and now a return to some of the stricter aspects. I want to give you an idea of the type of area this is, very much in the city centre, it is to be an industrial area, lots of construction going on, many of these will be apartments. And also i want to show you this fantastic mural of jimi hendrix, i have nothing much to say about the price or you would like to see it, it is pretty impressive. Lets speak to paul, the landlord. These changes can into place on thursday, what difference will it make to you and the business . Huge difference, Table Service especially will limit capacity to operate, as simple as that. At the moment we are safe behind here, people cant at the bar, not too close, they can take theirdrink and sit bar, not too close, they can take their drink and sit down and they are safe, i now have to go outside this parameter, Table Service, i cannot do it, it is impossible. The restrictions always seemed cruel to small pubs, the Great British pub with a note at each end and a narrow bararea, with a note at each end and a narrow bar area, you will close for many weeks, what about restrictions on opening times, how will that affect you . Not so much, we planted in advance from july to fourth, we thought there might be a second curfew or a temporary lockdown we planned it in advance. People get a bit merry after nine oclock so we thought it would be safer to close early, but we have been opening a little later, so this puts us back. Im happy to report you two are married so you are able to sit next to each other in the pub. Adam, what has going to the pub been like for you and what will these differences make . I think the pubs opening up has been really good for everyones Mental Health. Lots of us have been working from home, it has been a very intense period so seeing it return to some semblance of normality has been really amazing andi normality has been really amazing and i am very happy for my friends who work within the industry that they are getting back to work and able to make money. And what about you, do you think are tailing Opening Hours will have any effect . To you like a drink at last orders . Curtailing Opening Hours . To you like a drink at last orders . Curtailing Opening Hours . There will be an impact but i think people realise it is a sensible move to try to curtail the spread of the virus. I think there is a compromise that people understand. Especially towards the end of the night, have you noticed people letting the rules drop . Definitely, and so i guess that makes the most sense in terms of keeping people behaving sensibly and keeping to the rules, but it is and keeping to the rules, but it is a small businesses. Thank you very much forjoining us this morning. We will get an idea later about what these restrictions will mean, and as we are told about more often, the impact it will have on our daily lives. Studio thank you. It is interesting looking around the inside of the pub and wondering how they will deal with the new restrictions. Lets speak now to william lees jones, who is the owner of the jw lees brewery, and tomas maunier, who co owns the fazenda chain of restaurants. That morning, both. Thank you for joining us. William, some of your pubs will have sort of local lockdown, what you think about this ten dm curfew across england . Ten oclock curfew. All of our pubs were closed for ten weeks and it was only last week that we we reopened our last week that we we reopened our last pulp, and pubs are probably the safest place to bn the uk at the moment. What difference will it make to you, tend to end, how many people are still drinking at that time and what Financial Impact will it have . Already pubs and bars in the north east were reported by turnover was down about 50 , with fares closing at ten oclock, people are not going out, they are having house parties, which is totally unsafe. Fazenda is your restaurant, you heard this news last night, we will heard this news last night, we will hear more from the Prime Minister later, what you make about these announcements . We understand where the government is coming from and there is obviously a risk and we have a duty of care as a business and industry the reality is what we can see today is that closing earlier will not really solve the big problem, the problem is what we can read and see from other people talking about this. People not following the guidelines at home. A couple of seconds ago it was brought about bars, restaurants and pubs can bea about bars, restaurants and pubs can be a safe environment if we take things properly. It is a massive hit, we are talking about losing a full sitting across all our sites, those are big numbers. Because of the restrictions on table or because you have to close . We already have a restriction on tables, more space in between them and putting things into action in the restaurant and i know a lot about the hospitality businesses are doing the same thing. We are already seeing restrictions applied to the businesses, we are running behind as a Business Year on year but now cutting down that extra time from what we normally would close, two hours less, closing it at ten oclock, that means a full sitting across all restaurant and thats a lot of money, believe me. William, you will will be well aware that what the government is trying to do, successfully or not, is balance up protecting the public, in this case in relation to you in a pub environment, and a social environment, and a social environment, against trying to protect the economy. For you, looking at what they have done, what will be the result in terms of your pubs and whether you will survive . At the moment, if the government is going to force us to close at ten oclock, we are asking them for financial help to extend thurlow and maybe on a sector specific basis extent of the furlough scheme. Extend the Business Rates cut public 3 Million People work in hospitality and we have made it a priority to make all of our sites are safe for people to come into with social distancing so we are asking the government, if you are going to put these restrictions on the industry, you need to give us more help, please. And without that . Inevitably there will be redundancies. Whitbread has Just Announced a lot this morning which must have something to do with the announcement. Tomas, picking up that thought, are you looking for help or can you find a way through this . We will probably need help and we are talking about. The industry has all sizes of businesses, big and small and independent and we need to think about all of them when we look at what help the government can give but the key factor is the government has not put their foot down in many aspects, the help has been amazing with furlough and the eating out a scheme but they have not dealt with the Biggest Issue this year which is the Biggest Issue this year which is the landlords. We are taking all the pain at the moment and its not shared with landlords. If we are cutting down the time we can operate, do we have to pay less rent . No, we have to pay full rent so rent . No, we have to pay full rent so the reality is we have to have helped put it seems wrong to not ask, what is the special today . The special is always meet, we are a metre we hope you have a good day and we will find out how things are happening with you. Thank you for speaking to us. Many of you might have been watching michael gove earlier confirming that sports fans will not be returning to stadiums as soon as we will not be returning to stadiums as soon as we thought, sally . This is big news. An interesting quote from michael gove, this is what it would have looked like, brighton had been trialling this way of having fans in ita trialling this way of having fans in it a socially distance way and we had been expecting to see fans back watching live sport, setting a small number but as you said, talking to louisa for small time ago michael gove confirmed that fans will not be going back as expected louise. We heard there would be a review and he suggested that was completely going to stop. I do know that different sporting bodies will be talking to the government about a possible package, some kind of help to keep them going because a lot of the smaller football clubs we already know will be struggling and i have to tell you, the reaction on social media this morning has been really clear. A lot of fans have been in touch injust clear. A lot of fans have been in touch in just the few minutes since that interview, saying, how can they ban fans from coming into to a sports event in a socially distance way and keep pubs open . Thats exactly what we are asking. Although you have to be aware that the government was hugely criticised for allowing the Cheltenham Festival to go ahead back in march. Their timing of that was really interesting. Perhaps that is why we are seeing this reaction but disappointing for the fans and the sporting bodies who insist they can do this in a safe weight. Thank you very much. Youll probably know that this year, weve been talking a lot to doddie weir, rob burrow and Stephen Darby. Three sportsmen who are all living with Motor Neurone Disease an illness with no cure. Former footballer lenjohnrose, who also has mnd, has been telling Richard Askham how hes taken inspiration from his fellow sports stars. Lenjohnrose is a man determined to live his life to the full. As positive in his attitude. If it wasnt for him being so upbeat all the time, we wouldnt be. As he is proud of his family. Len was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease three and a half years ago. He was a teacher after a successful first career as a footballer with several clubs, including blackburn rovers, burnley, and as you see here, swansea city. He lives with his wife nadine, son patrick and daughter elizabeth. What you notice straightaway is how much len smiles and laughs with his whole family. His game face returns when he is coaching his son patrick. He wants to follow in his dads footsteps and become a professional footballer. Patrick, how proud are you of your dad . All the time, every time i hear him and see these videos, i am. What about you, elizabeth . Yeah. I really am proud of him. He has shown me how strong he can be, and i want to be like that. Len takes inspiration from other high profile sportsmen who have mnd. Footballer Stephen Darby, who he is in regular contact with, and rugby players doddy weir, and rob burrow. Give us a wave, len. His smile are all the more remarkable because of how rapidly the disease has affected him. This was him less than two years ago. Absolutely amazing. Literally took my breath away. A parachute jump, part of his tireless efforts to raise money and awareness. He also plans to write a second book. And when it is safe to do so, to try and visit all 92 premier and Football League clubs. Len has been married to his wife nadine for 19 years. They remain besotted with each other. Nadine, you must have been going through all sorts of emotions, obviously. Just try to put it into words, how you feel. You cant think about it too much. I mean, in the beginning, it was awful because you just. The bottom falls out of your world and everything youve planned. We had so many plans, didnt we . We were going to do all sorts. And, then, you just realise you are not going to have time, you are not going to be able to do all those things. And i worry about whether or not, i say. Whether or not im going to. Be able to do it. To be able to get through all this. I know i could ring anybody up at any time from both of our sides and they would be here in a flash. So, i am not going through it on my own but every day, day to day, we are on our own, arent we . Yeah. Youre all right . 0bvious a huge thank you to len and the dean and all the family and it was delightful to see him coaching his son lennadine and. That was Richard Askam reporting. Time now to get the news, travel and weather where you are. Good morning, im asad ahmad. A day after League Two Side Leyton Orient announced that a number of its First Team Players have tested positive for coronavirus, no formal decision has been made about whether theyll still be playing their league cup match against Tottenham Hotspurs tonight. 0rients Football Ground has been closed until further notice, and the club is in discussions with public Health England about whether any further action needs to be taken. Its understood that if 0rient cant field a team tonight, the game will be awarded to spurs as theres not enough room in the schedule to rearrange the tie. Londoners are being advised to get a flu jab to help protect against whats being called the double danger of flu and coronavirus. Research shows people can catch both diseases at the same time, with serious and sometimes deadly consequences. Anyone over 50 is eligible for the jab. A start up firm in South East London is trying to make it cool for men to wear wigs. And its focus is upon young black mean with hair loss. Its already proving popular in america, where, after preparation, the so called man weave using natural hair is attached to the head using special adhesives. It comes as wigs and Hair Extensions for women have grown in popularity. So the idea is why not have it for men . In black culture style has always been a thing thats really important to us and we care about how we look, we care about how we present ourselves, so hair loss is viewed with some stigma. Lets take a look at the travel situation now. It has been a good service all morning on the tube. Just a planned closure on the waterloo city line. 0n the roads, theres still congestion on the north circular in bounds green following a collision by brownlow road earlier. In watford, the a41 is closed between the sandy lane and the hartspring roundabout for repairs to a burst water main. And in wandsworth, there are restrictions northbound on trinity road just after the county arms pub because of a burst water main. Now the weather with elizabeth. Hello, good morning. Well, today marks the autumn equinox, but its still going to feel an awful lot like summer just for one more day until it turns cooler and wetter tomorrow. But for this morning we are starting off with a few early mist patches around. For most of us, though, sunshine from the word go and well be keeping that sunshine throughout the day. Top afternoon temperatures of 24, maybe 25 celsius. Just clouding over from the west as we head towards the end of the day, and then that cloud is set to thicken overnight tonight. The wind will also pick up and therell be some outbreaks of showery rain into the start of the day tomorrow, but its still mild out there 14 or 15 celsius on wednesday morning. But on wednesday itself, a cold front sweeps through thats going to give us some outbreaks of rain. It will drag in some much cooler air, so temperatures take a real dip as we head through the middle part of the week. On thursday itll turn rather windy, and therell be some showers around. We introduce a cold northerly wind on friday, but a lot of dry weather around, too, at the weekend. Va nessa Vanessa Feltz has her radio show on bbc radio london right now. I will be back in half an hour. Hello, this is breakfast with Charlie Stayt and Louise Minchin. We will get you up to date with the latest on jobs and insurance now with nina. Not good news im afraid this morning to. In the last hour tui the travel company has announced theyll need to reduce cost base by 30 . Theyve said that potentially impacts 8,000 jobs more than 10 of their global workforce. After an incredibly challenging summer, winter bookings are down 60 . 8000 jobs potentially being lost globally. And also in the last hour whitbread, whose brands include premier inn, brewers fayre and beefeater, have also announced they will begin consultation on 6000 redundancies one sixth of their workforce. In particular their outlets used by Business Travel have suffered. A lot less of that going on at the moment and unfortunately that will probably not be the last of the redundancies in travel and hospitality. Some slightly better news if you are someone who cant find the time to shop around when your insurance is is up for renewal. We know six million of us lose out every year because of autorenewal and today, the fca, which regulates has said the fca, which regulates, has said when a customer renews their home or motor insurance they pay no more than they would if they were new to their provider through same sales channel. This could have massive implications for consumers and insurance for more on this and some advice on how you can make sure youre getting the best price we can chat to iona bain, founder of the young money blog. Good morning. Good news for people like me who say they are too busy to switch, but people who are fixated on switching, their options might be reduced . True, but it is worth pointing out that if the regulator gets its way a probably will not come into fosun till next year, so in the meantime do not wait for the regulator to make things better, get action yourself. Three weeks before your policy is due to renew, shop around, if you wait any longer than that then the prices might start to go up. Use comparison website, use more than one, do not rely on them because they do not display all the policies on the market, there are insurers who are not in comparison website and you might need to talk to aikens talk to an Insurance Broker if your circumstances have changed. But the most important thing is to compare like with like, make sure you are buying the same type of policy, watch out for excesses , type of policy, watch out for excesses, insurers set high accesses to make them look cheaper. Make sure you are buying the same level of cover because you do not want to be trading down to an inferior policy, thatis trading down to an inferior policy, that is a false economy. People who are looking after a parent or who have Young Children would say ijust do not have time to do this, there are so many nukes do not have time to do this, there are so many nukes and crannies in the deals. I completely understand and the Insurance Industry does not make it easy for people to buy policies and understand what they are buying and what kind of level they are getting, and i think we really need to see insurers up their game and make policies far most straightforward to understand, but in the meantime i would really recommend looking at the policy document, unfortunately some can be quite long, even if you cannot read the whole thing, which i completely understand, make sure you understand the key features undertake exclusions and the most important thing is to be really careful when making your application, make sure it is accurate and you are honest, if you make any mistakes or tell any faith, it can come back to bite you if you make a claim in the future. It is regulations come in, do you foresee the average price will go 7 foresee the average price will go its foresee the average price will go le foresee the average price will go up . Its people are saving billions, an estimated 4 billion, somebody is paying more somewhere . There is a big risk that if these regulations come into force then insurers will just put the prices up elsewhere, so it is possible customers could see the upfront costs go up because the regulator has said insurers are free to set prices for new customers so that could suggest that insurers could hike up the prices. 0ver that could suggest that insurers could hike up the prices. Over the last six months at covid 19 we had seen last six months at covid 19 we had seen justin insurers last six months at covid 19 we had seenjustin insurers taking a battering, lots of insurers not paying out, leaving consumers angry. With Car Insurance we had been driving less, making fewer claims, people that premiums have not come down, so i think the Industry Needs to look at itself and see what it can do to rebuild trust. As iona said, it will be around six months a fun 20s regulations come into place. Matt said he got to the stage where he was paying more for Car Insurance than his much younger son, he shopped around and save 400 is, loyalty does not pay so shop around and even go to your current insurer and even go to your current insurer and ask what it would cost if you we re and ask what it would cost if you were a new customer, sometimes they will bring the price down. Millie bobby brown made her name playing eleven in netflixs cult sci fi series, stranger things. Now at the age of 16 she has produced her own film, and its a much more british affair. In enola holmes she plays Sherlock Holmes younger sister. 0ur entertainment correspondent Colin Paterson caught up millie and her on screen mum, Helena Bonham carter, via video chat. Now, where to begin . My mother named me enola, which, backwards, spells alone. And yet we were always together. And it was wonderful. Millie bobby brown, Helena Bonham carter, were certainly not short of names in this, are we . And the title of this film is a name, enola holmes. Millie, tell us about her. 0h, tell. I cant really explain enola. She is very witty and brutally honest, a young person who is going through a coming of age story, she is going on an adventure. A week ago, i awoke. Mother . To find that my mother was missing. And she did not return. Im presently on the way to collect my brothers, mycroft and sherlock. Helena, getting to play Sherlock Holmes mum, thats quite a role . It was fun. It was fun taking something so famous, and ive always been a Sherlock Holmes fan, when i was 18 i was onjury service and this is what i was like, millie, when i wasjust slightly older than you, i actually took the complete works of Sherlock Holmes tojury service because i thought somehow if i imbibed all of sherlocks detective possibilities. Abilities and be able to read people and decode, i would be able to tell if the man who was on the dock was guilty or not. Classic i want to know, did you find him guilty . What had the person done . He was guilty. Im not sure i ever described how a typical days education works with my mother. We started with history. She always said that. Historical perspective is the only way to begin a day then wed lunch. And after lunch, id focus on fitness. Followed by fight combat. Helena, you were 19 when you found fame with room with a view. 19, did you say . I am 107 now. No, thats right. 19, yeah. How difficult was it finding. Having to deal with it all when that happens, and when you see millie having such fame at such a young age . There is a part of me that definitely thought, oh, ive been there. Its also very different these days, i think because of the social media, which is both great, because you have a direct relationship with the fans, but i also feel like thats a huge pressure. But also its amazing because she has. She does something on her instagram and shes got immediately, is it two Million Viewers or something . 35 million. Thats ridiculous. I have 25 followers and she has. I had 25 followers a few years ago. At the beginning, yeah, when you were zero to six months. Millie, what kind of pressure does having 35 million followers on instagram bring . The pressure is. No, its not that bad. I mean, i obviouslyjust go with the flow, im very grateful and honoured that so many people want to watch my life like that. I dont think about it for too long, just because if i did, id be sat there all day wondering why these people like me, you know . I wouldnt be. It wouldnt be healthy for me. It is overwhelming at times but i am grateful for it andi at times but i am grateful for it and i love them, they are good to me. There are two pass you can take a make yours all the passat others choose for you. Helena, you play a suffragette and you have a political background in your family, suffragette and you have a political background in yourfamily, because your great grandfather, herbert asquith, Prime Minister of the country. How much torque was there about growing up . None untili became so called well known. I rememberthe became so called well known. I remember the first article, when you become well known people attach a particular narrative to you, so forever i was a great granddaughter vasquez for at least ten years, and my mum said i to 50 of you and there is no mention of my site. The irony. No, it is not really interesting. Im listening, i am excited my greatgrandfather was not pro suffragette because they we re not pro suffragette because they were silent, and at that point he was looking for home rule in ireland, he sought in order to get it through, from his point of view, he said you cant use violence, so when i played a suffragette i found it very hard, how could you not have been pro votes for women . The film has a very strong feminist message andi has a very strong feminist message and i wanted to ask you both about how difficult it is as a female in the movie industry at the moment . Are things changing . Some work environments are extremely amazing and you can work with men who appreciate your voice and look at you as an equal, and some not, but that just comes with you as an equal, and some not, but thatjust comes with experience and time and you have to understand that that comes with this industry. As faras being that comes with this industry. As far as being portrayed on screen, it is notjust no question that far as being portrayed on screen, it is not just no question that there is not just no question that there isa farwider is not just no question that there is a far wider range of parts available. My mother is stoning. Available to women of all shapes, sizes and ages. My mother is calling me. Now sizes and ages. My mother is calling me. Now i am in my mid 505 i am asked to play all sorts of women but they did not exist, they were not written or filmed then. But i think we are beginning to tuck oh, my mum up there in all shapes and sizes. That is your mundane, they are talking about asquith again phone how are you . I am on television, i will speak to you. I have got to go, i had to go to the parent meeting, guys. You are the best man ever. Best fake mum. Love you. What a lovely chat. That was definitely a zoom interview. A lovely red interview. I can tell you from experience that chaos follows Helena Bonham carter, i interviewed her face to face back Helena Bonham carter, i interviewed herface to face back in Helena Bonham carter, i interviewed her face to face back in the day, she kicked a class and it smashed, she kicked a class and it smashed, she has an air of chaos, in the best possible way. She kicked a class. Enola holmes will be available on netflix from tomorrow. Lets have a look outside of the building. That is eastbourne you can probably spot the difference. Heres matt with a look at this mornings weather. We had best make the most of the weather, is that fair . a lwa ys most of the weather, is that fair . always thought that we needed a pier in southend. Today is the author equinox, i had to show you this image again, the last sunrise of summer, the rooftops above london, all things change, the equinoxes the early afternoon and officially we are mutual logically and astronomically into autumn. We will see big weather changes. The last hurrah of summer, 26 degrees possible in some eastern parts of england, we should be around 15 to 19 degrees so all places above where we should be, all places below average for the time of year by friday, some places struggling to get into double figures. Autumn is waiting in the winds. Colder air. This cloud will bring more persistent rain more widely across northern and western scotland, a stiffening breeze, the cloud will thicken in Northern Ireland with splashes of rain but said he spells before that arise. We could see enough cloud to produce the shower across western england and wales, eastern scotland stays dry, the best of the sunshine further east in the lighter winds, temperatures up to around 19 or 20 degrees in the moray serpent aberdeenshire, 26 for lincolnshire towards the south east of england. A very pleasant end to summer of england. A very pleasant end to summer in the moray first and aberdeenshire. Rain, heavy at times, because Northern Ireland this evening. Into the north and west of england and wales into tomorrow morning. There will be a dividing line between warmer air lingering across the south east, a mild enough start with one or two heavy showers, a fresh but bright start across scotla nd a fresh but bright start across scotland and Northern Ireland, there could even be first in some well sheltered brands. Some isolated showers, brightening up to the north and west of england and wales after and west of england and wales after a cloudy and damp start, rain pushing eastward, may be lingering across east anglia and the south east, most places tomorrow are closer to where we should be, or a bit lowerfor closer to where we should be, or a bit lower for this closer to where we should be, or a bit lowerfor this stage closer to where we should be, or a bit lower for this stage in september, sticking in the teens. From wednesday night into thursday low pressure starts to push end, bringing rain more widely but also strong to gale falsely in. The best of the weather on thursday is a north west scotland and a full day in the wind. Are you a fan of rick astley . Not a massive one. Lets go to rick now. Lovely to see you, we are all great fans here thank you come want to say to matt, he can take a long walk off salford appear to be honest he has disappeared now tell us about the single because it is rather special and it means a lot to you its about people who help people . Indeed. Bbc Sports Personality of the year and have the Unsung Hero Award and i was approached by someone putting the music track togetherfor approached by someone putting the music track together for the nominees and the idea is that it is celebrating the people who are doing heroic things but in the background really. They are unsung but through sports obviously come and we all know that changes your mental and emotional state anyway, doing activities and what have you. They are doing Amazing Things and i met a bunch of the nominees from last year when we shot the video for this. It has been amazing to have a window on that world, they all formed a choir they had to do it socially distant and so they were singing into their phones and computers at home and steve put it all together and did an amazing job. Its quite emotional really because you write a song and it turns into Something Else and it has been great. And it is wonderfully uplifting and catchy. Thank you. I just think people wonderfully uplifting and catchy. Thank you. Ijust think people en masse singing together, whether you are at the football or making a record, theres something about it. You get human beings making a noise together, hopefully a tuneful noise, its inspirational and it grabs you ina its inspirational and it grabs you in a different way so i have always loved listening to choirs and working with them. Theyve done a greatjob and its such a great project as well. The last six months, we all know there have been so months, we all know there have been so many stories and things we are hearing about that people are trying to do to get themselves through this period, and these guys are doing an amazing job. There are a couple of awards this year in the sense that they have got one for the under 15 category as well who have been making a difference in their community through sporting activities. Its an amazing thing. I have said a couple of times, i have mostly been catching up with old films and watching netflix and then there are people on the front line doing really what matters. Its a very Important Message and absolutely these people should be celebrated. Quite a few famous people singing along, who was best and who was the worst singer . Thankfully, they are put into a quiet so i dont know you didnt hear individual voices . Put into a quiet so i dont know you didnt hear individual voices . didntand you didnt hear individual voices . didnt and when i was first approached, i didnt realise they wa nted approached, i didnt realise they wanted to keep my voice on it, i thought everybody would be singing the different lines. It is fun and just a joyous thing and i think the main thing is that people can go on and vote for their unsung hero. I have got the website. It is about just celebrating the people who have actually made an effort so the video and the track, not incidental because they are putting the message across but that is the message for me, to celebrate these people and put them in the light. I think people lending their support, there are some serious names in sports was in there and its a great project. Just on a side note as well we have been speaking to michael gove who said fans might not be back in the stadiums, they were planning to have some from october. That will have an impact on people, wont it . Some from october. That will have an impact on people, wont it . Totally. We have done one gig since this all started and it was amazing, outdoors, very socially distanced and really well run and organised. We have just had and really well run and organised. We havejust had one and really well run and organised. We have just had one cancelled this coming weekend and we are all a bit low about that at the moment. It might not be the ultimate priority to go toa might not be the ultimate priority to go to a gig or sporting event but somewhere in the back of your mind, we need to be doing some of that at some point in our lives because we are humans. That is the way we grew up are humans. That is the way we grew up and we live our lives and we need to get back to doing that as soon as we can but we need to be really careful, we cant rush into it. Im a bit on the fence about it, i know we have to be socially distant and i think we are obviously heading for some more lockdowns and what have you and we have to be sensible and careful about it, but we need those flags in the ground in the distance to say that we will get back to doing this. You were meant to be doing this. You were meant to be doing gigs that they have been put off until next year . Yes, we came back from quite a long trip in australia and new zealand and didnt get to do the gigs injapan because people were getting into lockdown, and we came home and we were meant to go on the uk tour, the biggest one ive done since the 80s it all got postponed until later this year and now until next may and im just hoping by that time we will be rocking and ready to do it. But i think we all know, we cant rush it. We cant rush back to doing things that will put people in jeopardy, we just cant do that. We are desperate for it to happen and im worried about the industry i have been lucky enough to be part of, the music industry, and again the Unsung Heroes of that, people who work in crewe, as musicians every day, they are struggling work in music cruise. But that is the same as everybody on the planet but it means something to be because they are my people. And a final thought and insight into your home life, at the sight of uplifting songs, a go to uplifting song for you outside of your latest hits album . Uplifting song for you outside of your latest hits album . What would be your go to song . And bit of a closet rocker if i go for a walk and i need a pick me up, im into foo fighters, a fan of biffy clyro, there is a tune called many of horace and i love pop music of any kind that when i need somebody to grab hold of me, foo fighters do that for me. They have an incredible song, loads of them but one of my favourite is a song called everlong. That might be a shock to people but there we go thats great, lovely to see you again and state well. That money for the single goes to children in need. To nominate your unsung heros, visit bbc. Co. Uk u nsunghero. I dont think im familiar with those songs. You have got to listen from garden marathons to climbing everest on the stairs, there have been some incredible feats of fitness during the pandemic. But it doesnt have to be that hard. Tims in eastbourne this morning, where theyre encouraging gentler ways to stay healthy through the winter months ahead. What a day you have got there what a day to be on eastbourne beach in a lovely east sussex, fabulous fresh air, just the sort of thing we all need. There are more and more effort to get people in this town and elsewhere walking and doing exercise. Today is world car free day so a lot of street have been blocked up and it also marks ten yea rs of blocked up and it also marks ten years of a game called beat the streets which sees people Walking Around and playing a game and staying healthy and it has been a huge success and we have been meeting some people who have been playing it. Millie and jake are playing beat the street. For ten years, this game has helped get communities moving. When you go to your first street box, it registers your fob or your card and then you have an hour to get to your second box. When you get to it, it gets ten points for yourself and ten points for your school. It keeps you more healthy every time you reset a box. Their head teacher, benjamin bowles, believes it has made a huge difference to his pupils. We believe that when the children and families are physically active, its going to support their Mental Health, the two are intrinsically linked. And we do an awful lot of work around the ways of wellbeing in school. It was the idea of gp william byrd, a familiarface to bbc breakfast viewers. We have managed to get 1. 3 Million People engaged and we get all walks of life, people who have never done any activity at all will start to do beat the street. The uk could see 50,000 new coronavirus cases a day by mid october without further action, the governments scientific adviser said yesterday. The coronavirus alert level is going up to level four, meaning transmission is high or growing at an increasing rate. If there is a second lockdown, what we have to be careful of is that we dont keep people indoors the whole time. There will be a lot of people who will be frightened and anxious about going outside because there is a lockdown and it creates this fear but the message has to be, permission given for people to be outside. Today is world car free day. Streets are being blocked off to traffic on a temporary basis to get people walking and cycling, adding to what is becoming an increasingly familiar sight. This year, Many Councils have expanded their healthy neighbourhood schemes which means many streets have been blocked off, like this one. The hope is that it encourages people to leave their car at home but it can make other roads more congested. Traffic does get re routed elsewhere but i think the plan is, you know, in a town centre 25 of all pollution is generated from cars and from vehicles so what we can do is encourage people to leave their cars at home. Meanwhile, beat the street has this year seen 10,000 people sign up in eastbourne alone. Convince people why you should do this rather than just go for a walk. Well, i suppose it is a way of exploring further afield, you know. We are quite familiar with quite a lot of the town as we have lived here on and off for many years but also it means you can explore other areas. I think it is really great fun, its good for all the family. What do you think, 0scar . He loves it at a time of enormous change, fresh air has never felt so important. The youngest ever player of the beat the street, you just saw him there daryl is a director of Public Health for east sussex. We are expecting an announcement later so how important is it that people get outside at some point . I think what we learnt from the lockdown earlier in the year was the importance of one hour of physical activity that people can do so whatever is announced later, we need people to stay active and beat the street provides a perfect opportunity for that here in eastbourne. Do people underestimate how important it is to keep moving and get outside . I think often they do but lockdown and those measures gives people of that opportunity. To discover the town they live in, their area, discovering nature, all these things are very important not just for physical health but Mental Health. Interesting stuff. We mentioned that world car free day which you are organising for a sponsor how challenging has it been . Very challenging but i want to prove to people that improving air quality is the way forward and we need to get on our bikes and go for a walk. And if the road is blocked and traffic goes down a different road, what about the people who live on that road . We are improving air quality in certain areas but we try to phase it away from everybody using a vehicle because we want people to go on public transport and use bikes. You are 16, an amazing effort to organise so much. A beautiful morning this morning and ata time beautiful morning this morning and at a time when it feels like fresh airand getting at a time when it feels like fresh air and getting outside it so important and air and getting outside it so importantandi air and getting outside it so important and i guess we have to cherish days like this which make it a pleasure to do that. Can your camera looks out across the beach for us and give us that moment . Lets have a quick look. A nice shot across the beach. There you go, get them out of the way that looks lovely joining me this morning is the shadow foreign secretary, lisa nandy and the bbcs chief Political Correspondent, vicki young. So keir starmer arrived at an empty hall in doncaster a few minutes ago. Take another look at labour, keir starmer will say, but can he persuade voters who turned away from the party
