Shealey offered a quick âthumbs upâ Tuesday while getting his vaccine. âI feel great after taking the vaccine and Iâm proud to aid in the fight against the virus,â Shealey said in a release from the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs (ADVA). ADVA commissioner Kent Davis was happy to see the stateâs veterans homes getting the vaccine after being some of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. âWe are very pleased with the planning and preparation that went into rolling out the vaccine today for our residents and staff at the Bill Nichols State Veterans Home,â Davis said in a release. âOur staff and the pharmacy team did an outstanding job administering the vaccine and weâre on track to complete the first round of vaccinations for all four homes by Jan. 11.â
