Stricter visiting restrictions at Wirral hospitals over Christmas STRICTER visiting restrictions will remain in place at Wirral University Teaching Hospital over the Christmas and New Year period to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading. The measures - affecting Arrowe Park Hospital, Clatterbridge Hospital and Wirral Women and Children’s Hospital - will remain in place until further notice. As the risk of transmission of COVID-19 is still high, people are urged to remain cautious this Christmas and follow national guidance on regularly cleaning hands, wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing. Hazel Richards, Chief Nurse at Wirral University Teaching Hospital, said: "We realise it is a very difficult time for people who have loved ones in hospital at this time of year, however it is extremely important that we keep our patients as safe as possible and that must be our top priority.
