Stockton welcomes back 4th of July parade after COVID-19 hiatus

Downtown Stockton streets were filled Sunday morning with Fourth of July paradegoers as excitement, smiles, laughs and American pride overflowed during the event.
This year, city officials, first responders, car clubs and more all joined the pride and celebration.
“I just think it's important for our community to be able to gather and celebrate and still be mindful of what is happening in the world but also do something fun,” said Linda Vasquez, Parade Committee chairwoman and a 2021 Key to the City recipient.
An event that was approved and in the works only some four weeks ago was enjoyed by many parade attendees. This year's Fourth of July parade not only means COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted and people are starting to get back to their “normal” lives, but it also represents freedom to some.
