Representative image PUNE: All the people arriving from the Middle East and European countries at Pune airport will be put in seven-day mandatory institutional quarantine in designated hotels at their own costs, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporations’ orders issues on Tuesday stated. “The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure. The directives are issued under the Epidemic Disease Act and the Disaster Management Act 2005,” Rubal Agarwal, additional commissioner of PMC, said. As per the directives, if a passenger is found symptomatic on arrival, s/he will be shifted directly to the Naidu Hospital in Pune for further evaluation and treatment. If the report of the test is found negative, the passenger would be discharged from the institutional quarantine after 5-7 days with the advice of 7-day mandatory home quarantine.
