York City Mayor Michael Helfrich and state Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, were informed of the error over the weekend, Wheeler said. Dennis Kunkle and his wife are among the voters who received the wrong ballots. They discovered the error last week, and his wife contacted the election office on Monday. "It's unfortunate," he said. Someone could point to the mistake and say that mail-in voting is fraught with problems, but that's not his feeling. Kunkle said they voted by mail-in last year during the pandemic like many others in York County did. "We just decided we like it better," he said, adding that they didn't have to remember to go to the poll on election day.
