Macomb, Ill.- One person was killed and several others were injured in a shooting incident early Saturday, March 25th in Macomb. According to a news release, Macomb police responded to a call of shots fired at an off-campus party in the 500 block of North Johnson Street at about 1:55 AM Saturday. Police believe that an altercation began and gunfire erupted as a result. Ten people were wounded, six of them being Western Illinois University Students, and transported to McDonough District Hospital. One person was pronounced deceased at the crime scene. Police have yet to reveal the deceased's identity, but police say they are not a Western Illinois student. Macomb police were able to identify a person if interest in the case, who has been arrested and charged with Armed Violence.
