KENINGAU: Assistant Minister of Works Datuk Robert Tawik advised District Chiefs here who received their letter of appointment not to use the title OKK or “Orang Kaya Kaya”.

“Many do not understand the use of the title OKK, as if anyone appointed to the position of District Chief has the title of OKK.
“The title of OKK is only given by the government after considering that the District Chief is eligible through his contribution to the community in this district,” he said when presenting the letter of appointment to the customary leaders comprising Native Chiefs, Native Chief Representatives, Village Heads and Chinese Community Leaders or Chinese Kapitan at the Keningau hall of the District Council recently.
