Nigerian Maritime Workers' Union, MWUN Begins Strike, Shuts Down Seaports Nationwide

  The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) on Monday morning commenced nationwide strike action due to unresolved issues relating to the poor welfare of its members.   The workers on Monday protested in Lagos with placards explaining the reason for the industrial action and advocating their demands from the Nigerian government.   “We demand a review of the shipping workers’ gratuity,” one of the placards read.
